"A solid kid’s menu makes this brewery and restaurant a surprisingly family-friendly dining option. Adults will also be satisfied by the wood-fired pizza selections, fun brunch choices, and classic pub grub. Plus, in a shocking twist, Forager’s beer offerings are varied, with both traditional draughts and experimental pours available." - Katy Spratte Joyce

"It wouldn’t be a proper Minnesota lineup if there wasn’t a brewery on the list. The food is seasonal and locally sourced from the region and local farming partners. When eating here, expect, as the name suggests, foraged mushrooms, herbs, flowers, and spices to adorn the dishes. Not much of a beer drinker? Don’t worry, they have wine and spirits, too!" - Cinnamon Janzer

Forager Brewery nailed it on the atmosphere and decor. Walking in, you get very good vibes, and your eyes wander at all the great art that hangs on the walls. There was a live DJ playing great music. They offer a great drink selection at very reasonable prices. We ordered drinks and food. This is where things went downhill. We ordered Ahi Tuna Sliders and Cheese Bread Dunkers. The Ahi Tuna had the tiniest price of tuna. The bread was cold, and the wasabi was so overwhelming it was hard to eat. The carrots were pickled in wasabi, and there was wasabi sauce in the slider. It's just way too much wasabi. The main courses were Smash Burger, Fuego Burger, Cuban sandwich, and pan pizza. Smash Burger was not a smash. It was simply thin patties with a cheese sauce. Lacked any sort of flavor. Cuban had overwhelming flavors of artificial smoke flavor, and the dijon mustard was way too much. Pan pizza was super tiny. Sausage had that grocery store kinda flavor to it. The whole experience was just bad after we received our food. Service was great, but unfortunately, that and the decor were the only things great about Forager.

Google
Awesome place, they have a coffee zone staring early with breakfast then the brewery open with a bigger seating area and an extensive menu. It looks really tasty with local products. A lot of beers available. High quality barrel aged beers, but there was a disconnect with how they serve them. 20$ for a 6oz bottle, that's alright, but they serve them way too cold. They gave me a 10-12 oz glass for my first bottle and for the second bottle, they removed the entire wax..

I've been to dozens and dozens of breweries across the United States and Europe. Not one place has a better combination of quality craft beer and food. Brought a bottle from KC to share, and the staff brought me an unfinished sample of BA beer from the back. My En Fuego burger was astonishingly perfect. House cut fries too. This is how you do beer and food in a craft setting.

We stopped in based on the online reviews and luscious food pics, and found this place was completely worth the hype. We were seated in a big room adjacent to the bar. It had a cozy hunting lodge with an attitude vibe, with the addition of Christmas decor. I loved the chalk menu signs! My only criticism is that the background music was so loud that it was sometimes hard to hear my husband speak; if that music was turned down a few notches, that would be great. Our server was Amaelie and she took great care of us the entire time. My husband tried two small glasses of beer while I had a large can from local Keepsake Cider (I'm always so happy when a place has good cider available!). We started off with the queso appetizer. I'll be honest, I've become skeptical of queso because all too often it is bland or too watery or not even hot. This queso was great, piping hot with just a touch of spice, the texture thick enough to coat the included chips. The chips were a decent quality, too. We both ended up ordering the birria tacos. This was a phenomenal choice. We both loved these mini tacos--great shredded meat, loads of flavor. The included green sauce was too spicy for me, but my husband loved it! He also ordered fries at the side, and they were quite tasty. The portion was great, too. The fries were a good way to scrape up the last remnants of queso. This ended up being a fantastic date lunch. We'd definitely come here again!

Google
Cool spot. Was in town on a training. Staff was friendly. Didn’t know they ran a smoker out back. Had some pork belly tacos. Delicious! Beer was also tasty.

Google
We always have a good time here! They do live music inside and outside during warmer months, they have a breakfast cafe, trivia, and a back room for larger parties. Their pizzas and birria tacos are to die for. The service is always awesome and they have a large outdoor seating area. They also have Humble Forager, which are all delicious. Pictured is one of Forager's sour beers.

I am glad other people took so many pictures of this space because I did not. I was so hungry by the time I got here. My partner and I are brewery connoisseurs. The end. Just kidding. They had an extensive beer list and really cute tables with pennies in them. Which will be worth a lot someday I hear. We sat right by the fireplace. So cozy. The main reason, besides the beer, that brought us in was the fact the menu said they have bibimbap. If you've never had it you have to try it. Everywhere I have had it it's in a really hot bowl where you basically cook the rice in the bowl while you are eating it. I was so excited to order it and pretty sad when it came. The menu had a little fire next to it so I thought it was exactly what i thought it was. It wasn't. It was a large bowl of mostly veggies, some meat and egg. The meat and egg were really good, my partner took most of my veggies, luckily for me. They did have this kind of pink sauce that was on it and after I tasted it I asked for more. It really helped to tie in the dish. Even though I was sad about my meal 5 stars for the ambiance, service and the menu choices they do have. I recommend stopping here if you are nearby.

Google
It was a great place to stop for dinner and a beer on our way through Rochester to the Twin Cities. They have an extensive beer list as well as food menu. It is nice that that serve food relatively late, as we didn't get in until after 9pm. The pizzas are definitely the hit. Depending on your appetite, a single pizza serves 1-2 people. I liked the flavor of the forager noodles, but the portions are HUGE. Be ready for leftovers. I enjoyed the atmosphere, specifically the artwork. I'm not sure if it's every week, but this week they had live music every evening 7-10pm on Tuesday through Sunday. I highly recommend stopping in, especially those of you who love barrel-aged beers.

Dani G.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in Rochester to get some good vegan pad thai!! I've gotten the noodles here countless times and they turn out amazing every time! They have a few more vegan options, but the pad thai is my favorite! The decor is very hip and love the plants around the walls. Very cozy vibes and they also have live music weekly or biweekly, there's also a trivia night! Our server was nice and friendly, answered our questions when we had some. We stopped by on a Wednesday afternoon and it was pretty empty. A great spot to visit when in Rochester!

Alejandra G.

Yelp
I came here a few years ago and thought it was ok. I remember I got the pizza and I didn't enjoy it. This time I got the Lara Bowl. I absolutely loved it! Their decor is so quirky and old school. We came in on a Wednesday afternoon and it was almost empty. Our server was friendly and our food came in a timely manner. They do have vegan/vegetarian options. Prices were fair.

Sydney H.

Yelp
Immediately, the vibes and atmosphere at Forager Brewery are awesome. The decor is amazing, everything from all the different beer artwork they have had, to mugs hanging from the ceiling. I ordered the Hip Hops, the beer wasn't anything special, tasted like a very generic IPA. For food, we started with an appetizer of the queso and tortilla chips, this was really good! For a main entree, I got the big cheese pizza and my partner got the Lara Bowl. Both were just okay. Wouldn't necessarily go here to eat again, price was pretty outrageous for what it was. Service was great though! Would probably come again for a beer.

Erin B.

Yelp
We had a great time here! I highly recommend ordering whichever pizza is on the specials board. If you're looking for a mocktail, the homemade juices can be served with seltzer for a fizzy refreshment.

Molly M.

Yelp
Food is good but the ambiance/service was hurried on a Sunday evening. Of course, the beer was excellent.

Aneesa K.

Yelp
Delicious Delicious Delicious Oops! See my original review! Everything we ordered was SLENDID

Robert F.

Yelp
Great service! Great food! Great beer! I've had beers from these guys before, so when I know we'd be passing close by the brewery on our road trip we just had to stop. First off I love the decor, it's like farmhouse chic or a classy Cracker Barrel scheme. There's a beautiful backyard patio that's green and lush. They locally source everything that they can. Our bartender (Haley) was amazing! We ordered five small pours of beers (couple iPas, couple stouts and a sour) and they were all stellar. We ordered the Crunchwrap and the Cuban sandwich. The Cuban had fantastic flavor profile with the garlic aioli, mustard and spicy pineapple relish; I just wish it was pressed like a real Cuban (it needed that crispy texture)... the French fries that came with the sandwich were fresh hand cut but not fried twice (so they were soggy).. They open early for breakfast and have a full on coffee shop next door to the brewery/restaurant. 5 stars for ambience 5 stars for Haley 4 stars for food We would definitely visit again if we are in the area.

Emily K.

Yelp
This was a delightful find while visiting Rochester for a wedding. We ate inside due to to the bees but the patio looked lovely. We were thrilled with the cozy interior and local artwork. All the dishes were fantastic. My dad raved about his quinoa bowl for the rest of the weekend and the pizza was done perfectly. Chewy but not flimsy with a great blend of flavors. The drink list was extensive and I love the take on mimosas with fresh pressed juices.

Michael N.

Yelp
Good beer, good food, service was slow but it was busy. Our server was attentive and asked good questions. Kimchi mac and cheese definitely caught me off guard with how good it was, usually kimchi just isnt my thing.

Hnou V.

Yelp
Forager is great for many things: beer, pizza, and service. They are a popular spot in Rochester MN and finding parking at peak dinner hours is challenging. They do have two parking lots, so if the small one is full, go down the road a little bit and you'll see a sign for additional Forager parking near the bottle shop and Clover and Rose. I love that they offer their beer in small 5oz tasters, so I can try many different beers. There's something new to try every season. They make great stouts and sours. As for food, I would recommend the pizzas. They're a great size for a hungry person or for two to share. I would pass on the Forager noodles. These are very bland and have more liquid than necessary. Service is great and fast. They also let you pay via a mobile app.

Rick P.

Yelp
Food was great. Nice selection of beers. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive.

Birgitte H.

Yelp
Huge variety of drink options, including non-alcoholic. I had a mozzarella dish that was fine. Our server was nice. The real draw of this place is the interior - so eclectic and cool! Lots of little nooks to sit in. They also had live music.

Marty K.

Yelp
Food is outstanding! Beer is excellent. Service was very good and the atmosphere is very eclectic and interesting. Highly recommend for anyone, including families.

Kate A.

Yelp
Such a pleasant experience! After a lunchtime visit on the patio and dinner indoors on a rainy a Sunday evening, I can say I love everything about this place! First of all, the beer is exceptional. The food menu has enough variety to please just about anyone: vegetarian and vegan selections, soups and salads, burgers and fries, salads, pizza and more. Prices are very reasonable--especially for sustainable, locally sourced fare such as this. Staff is friendly and low-key. Music is just the right volume to be heard but stay in the background. There's off-street parking and a great patio space too.

Dan M.

Yelp
Good Craft Brewery! Beer was refreshing and they have excellent pizza! Will definitely go here again on my next visit to Rochester.

Nate B.

Yelp
Forager is a gem of a place in Rochester. Great food, amazing beer, and a lovely patio. Service is always friendly and the owner is super nice. Austin, the mastermind behind their barrel aged beers is awesome too. They have a pretty varied and fun tap list on most visits and if they have an barrel aged bottles, be sure to pick up one up (or get any on draft). Some of the best in the country in this small city in Minnesota. Their pizzas are great and the menu has a lot of variety. I've enjoyed everything I've had there

Deb D.

Yelp
Our server was great! She was knowledgeable about the food and the beverages. Music every night, what fun. If only we lived in town.

Jenny N.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite brewery in Rochester. I love the dining areas and the outside patio that generally has live music on weekends. Their food is so solid and they try to incorporate other cultural foods into American dishes. My favorite dish is the salmon & it has a subtle kick of spice to it. They generally have rotating beers on tap & most are pretty solid options so it's hard to go wrong. I like that drinks are offered in 4oz pours as well so you can pick and choose basically your own flight. The servers are efficient but sometimes it feels like they rush you a bit to finish.

Shelley S.

Yelp
Love their food and their beers. You don't even need to like beer to visit this brewery because they have so much to offer. I especially love their unique wood-fired pizzas. This place is a must to stop during your travels or visit to Mayo. Relax and enjoy. Service was top notch, the servers were helpful and friendly. Although, it's a nice relaxed atmosphere, their designer needs help, especially with Christmas decorations and wall decor. It wouldn't stop me from returning.

Jim T.

Yelp
Always a treat. The Blanco Beluga was excellent. The citrus notes came through for me. Friendly service and a nice cozy atmosphere

Amy P.

Yelp
Went to Forager with some friends for dinner on a Saturday at about 5pm. We were able to be seated right away and though service was a little slow, that's understandable with how busy it was. Everyone was able to grab a drink though and all of the craft beers we ordered were very good. Be sure to ask the server for some of the most popular flavors, that'll help you choose. I ordered the Cuban and my friends got the macaroni and cheese. The Cuban was a little spicy for me but it was too good so I ate it all. The macaroni and cheese smelled amazing so I'm sad I didn't get that but next time!! Their fries are also amazing. Definitely recommend stopping by.

Echo M.

Yelp
We had my mom's 90th birthday party on the patio at Forager's and 3 weeks later she is still talking about how lovely it was. Great food, excellent service, beautiful weather with birds chirping in the trees all made it so perfect. Thanks for such a great experience!

Cindy T.

Yelp
I was disappointed by the tap room server. He did not greet us as we sat down at the bar. As we picked up the menues no exchange was ever sent. When I asked for a sample, he replied we don't give samples. Every brewery, cider house I've ever been to has offered samples with describing what each beer is made up of. The courtyard server was a bit more engaging. I thought the pizza was bad. She agreed adding the sauce was like a watery spaghetti sauce. To me, who makes her own, it was like a runny watery tomato juiced. The wall selection of t-shirts did not reflect what was offered but sold out styles. We had a letter time at the next brewery

Dominic O.

Yelp
Great beer, superb staff and amazing food!

Katie G.

Yelp
Great patio atmosphere, eats and sour beer! Plenty of seating outside and dog friendly outdoor space.

Thomas W.

Yelp
Excellent. Traveling, used Yelp to see what was close, and felt like I had lucked up finding Forager.

Teresa H.

Yelp
Unbelievable food. Our whole family went and everyone's food was fantastic, made from scratch & very delicious. We sat outside which is such a nice secluded area away from any traffic & the ambiance from all the beautiful flowers & the gazebo made it feel like we were in someone's backyard.

Buffy G.

Yelp
Stopped here on our travels home and they did not disappoint! Delicious IPAs and food couldnt be better!! Wish we lived closer to come back and keep trying everything on the menu!!!

Sara D.

Yelp
Was in Rochester to visit some family and wanted to explore a brewery in the area. My cousin and I went to Forager Brewery and we had a wonderful time! First, the inside and outside are both amazing. The inside is huge, and the coolest part was the library seating section they had. The weather was gorgeous (which is somewhat rare during spring in MN) so we had to sit outside. There were so many flowers and bushes, and the stage in the corner was beautiful too. Lots of outside seating and umbrellas too if you don't want too much sun. For drinks and food, we ordered the seasonal mead drink and it was delicious. I've never had mead before, but it was perfectly refreshing on a nice spring day. Originally my cousin wasn't going to have any drinks, but she had a sip and had to order one because it was so good! I also ordered the Kaleidoscope Kookaburra and enjoyed it, but I liked the Mead more. For food, YOU HAVE TO ORDER THE PILE OF FRIES! The aioli sauces were addicting, and the pile of fries was huge. I was thankful I got to bring it home and have leftovers later that night. When we left, we kept admiring the art on the outside of the building as well. The aesthetic overall at this place was just a great vibe. When I come back to Rochester, I will be back here and will order some more beers! And of course, I will have to order the pile of fries again.

Amanda N.

Yelp
This place has great vibes! Parking was easy, the food was great, and the drinks were excellent. We will be back!

Carissa E.

Yelp
I have never seen a "full service" brewery before, outside of the building is a beautiful floral mural, inside the decor was amazing, walls filled with art and collages. There is a shop inside, I think they also have pressed fresh juices (I'll be back to try that) the restaurant is local farm to table style which I love and they have so many choices on the menu, pasta, sopes, breakfast, burgers etc. the food was delicious and service was fast and friendly - just how I like it.

Karen A.

Yelp
Checked out Forager when in town for an appointment at Mayo Clinic. It was on our way into town as we traveled to the clinic. Food is locally sourced and yummy. It was a nice day so we sat on the patio but also liked the vibe inside. We ordered a burger with fries and the Lara Bowl. I also had a 4 oz. Puebla Especial. Will stop again when we are in town.

Matt R.

Yelp
It wasn't terrible but the pizza was sitting in a pool of grease. The crust was good but the middle was a soupy mess. 100% of the cheese and toppings fell off when trying to pick it up even when being careful. They charge $1 for Parmesan cheese which is ridiculous. First time I've ever seen that at a pizza place. They also add a credit card charge which I've also never seen at a restaurant. If they're going to do that they need to at least let you know as that neither charge is normal at a restaurant and then you can at least make your own decision if you have cash or want to take a stand against $1 Parmesan that couldn't have cost more than 5 cents.

Liv S.

Yelp
Came here for dinner, not drinks, and was really impressed by the food! It was recommended to me by a doctor at the Mayo Clinic, who had rave reviews of the food. I had the Birria tacos, which were very good. It was the perfect portion of food, and the meat wasn't dry, and the shells weren't soggy. My dad had the Ruben with a side salad and said it was fantastic. The food is reasonably priced and the portions are generous. The atmosphere is also very chill, they had live music that started at 7pm.

Ken S.

Yelp
FISHING WITH HORUS is the best beer that I had during a 5-brewery tour, and the only one that I wanted to bring home with me. (Sadly, impossible either in-house or at a couple of liquor stores that normally carry it.) Because of Fishing With Horus, I'd be at 5 stars even if the Reuben Deep DIsh Pizza hadn't been good - but it was! My only regret is that I'll likely not get to try more of the delicious food and drink at Forager.

Lana J.

Yelp
I stopped here in between doctors appointments at the mayo clinic, this is my second time here and I loved their food and their beer, Aaron was very helpful and knowledgeable with the beer selection and the food.

Bailee N.

Yelp
Came in for dinner on a Sunday evening. First time visiting the place and, overall, not bad. The setup of the restaurant is unique and kind of fun. The place wasn't overly busy at the time, but I feel our server was a little slow in checking in on us (also never got a refill on my water which was a bummer), still, she was friendly enough and did make several appearances once we had our food. Our food came out very fast, which was nice, though I almost wish we had a bit more time with our appetizer, the pile of fries. These fries were AMAZING! I love a good hand cut fry and these were truly top-notch! The garlic aiolis that came with the fries were delicious! I can't say which I liked better because they were both incredible! The cheese pizza was also fairly decent. I think it could have been a bit saucier - the crust was thinner and the cheese all pulled off, so then I was kind of left with sad, almost sauceless crust. The blend of cheeses and the seasoning on the crust definitely made up for it though! It's definitely a "different" overall kind of menu that might not be for everyone (for example, my friend had the Mac & cheese which was supposed to have kimchi on it, but she asked for it to be left off) but if you're willing to branch out with your taste buds a bit, I'd definitely recommend trying it out!!

Cameron J.

Yelp
5 out of 5 because the nachos are divine. Beer is good- Not a lot of my personal choices on tap but good. Come for the nachos.

Taj K.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Great place, fun layout/decor, amazing food, plenty of beer & non-beer options. What a treat! This was my first time and we loved it. We are doing dry January, and in my experience for most breweries, the only non-beer option tends to be water. Not here! They have kombucha, wine, juices, and more! I had the lavender kombucha and it came in one of the beer glasses, so I didn't feel like a loser with the different glass. I felt included. It was a great drink! For lunch I had the forager burger, cooked medium. Perfectly cooked and very well balanced flavors. Husband had the Mac& cheese and added bacon. The bacon chunks were huge. All of us cleaned our plates. I would highly recommend and can't wait to return!

Sara K.

Yelp
We stopped here passing through on a road trip and happened to this brewery Bc most others were closed (it was a Monday?!?). This could be the best selection of beer we have ever had. We are no stranger to breweries and travel all over and have tried many in different states. The sours, tarts and IPA's here are some of the best I have ever had. If you love flavor and thicker beers than it's must try. The biggest bummer is due to local laws (?!?) you can only buy a growler of certain beers, no to-go cans, so it was impossible to try / take beers with us - we would have purchased a lot being so far away. They do have a sister company that brews in WI, when we drove through we were able to find a few of their beers canned / for sale in grocery stores and took some with. Looking forward to coming back through here next summer!

T K.

Yelp
Came here with work group. Very cool place, lots to look at, everything from antiques to deer head mounts. I had the flatbread pizza, it was very tasty, nice fresh veggies and cheese.

Pete N.

Yelp
Had the October fest beer and margarita pizza , I was traveling , very welcoming atmosphere, great place to have a beer and food, all the meals looked great!

Lily S.

Yelp
This place is a must any time I'm visiting Rochester. The menu focuses mostly on burgers and pizzas, with some salad options. I stick to the burgers and they never disappoint. Although this is a brewery, I LOVE that they cater to us wine drinkers as well and, man, those pours are generous! As most have mentioned, parking here can suck. I wish they would at least re-paint the lot.

Rachael M.

Yelp
I really had a great visit for the food, beer, and atmosphere. I love when a restaurant serves great food and beer. I do think it's kind of rare when they can nail both and this place just happened to be one of the places that has. The door was broken when we entered and my plus done said that it was broken on his last visit almost a year ago so, it sounds like they could do some fixing up on something thought. They have a good sized parking lot, a nice sized dinning area, and a bar to belly up to! We sat at the bar. The staffed at the bar was really friendly and we met some regulars who were great as well. You can tell that the locals really enjoy this spot. I absolutely had to try their experimental beer on the menu called Methode Push pop ; Granddaddy Purple. The menu stated it was for those wanting to try something extraordinary. I was absolutely down for that. It was definitely special and fun to try. I was most obsessed with Johnny C a Belgian Style Dubbel brewed with buckwheat and fermented in oak barrels, and I also really love one of the fruited sours which was called Gummies Make Us Likeable: Paradise. They make some amazing sours that's for sure. For dinner I grabbed the Cast Iron Mac & Cheese made a blend of cheeses, panko, and topped with kimchi. It was super really good especially when I added their house made hot sauce to it. My plus one ordered a burger and absolutely loved it. I have no complaints about this stop!

Jennifer R.

Yelp
Unique beer and great menu, great place Try to sit n their patio- covered with bright flowers

Deb G.

Yelp
The Forager Noodles were the worst food that I have ever ordered from a restaurant. I was expecting a vibrant noodle dish with lots of flavor and what I received was a noodle dish full of overcooked vegetables, no flavor (except for the jalapenos), and a bowl full of grease. It was inedible. There was nothing fresh about it (except for one skinny piece of green onion). The only reason I gave this restaurant one star is that my husband's Cuban Sandwich was decent and the carrot cake was fabulous. But, the fries were some of the greasiest I have ever tasted. This is the first Yelp review I have ever written. But, I was so disappointed that I had to write something so that no one will order this menu item again.

Amy F.

Yelp
Took a mini detour on the way down to LaCrosse for the weekend and so happy we did. Let's start with the cute patio what a great outdoor space. The Coastal Sunrise is dangerous...in a good way. It honestly tasted like a smoothie that I could easily sip a couple of those each day. Now most breweries the focus is obviously the beer. Forager took a step above and provide excellent variety, great portions, and fabulous meals. Now I was side eyeing my friend for ordering Forager Noodles on a patio in 90 degree heat but I'm so glade they did. Great flavor and would venture down there to get it again. The pizzas were a perfect size for one and I am not ashamed that I ate each slice in one sitting. So happy to have stopped in and can't wait to get back down there again

Heidi H.

Yelp
We were in town and friends back home told us we had to stop jere. The plan was a quick drink and appetizer and somewhere else for dinner....needless to say we stay for multiple beers and dinner. Our waitress was great. The appetizer was ok. We had the lager board...it was nothing really special. We split pizzas. Ordered the margarita pizza and the seamstress...both were amazing. Would definitely get both of them again. Bummed multiple beers were out of stock so we couldn't take them with us. They were bottling the next day, unfortunately we had to leave the next prior to their bottling time. The tables had different tops...some had a design I n pennies, we sat at one with old recipes. Super cute idea

Neil A.

Yelp
Everything was perfect. Great environment, great service, food was well so good and fresh, and the beer was delicious. Would make this a regular place if we were locals. Get it when you can!

Greg H.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance and environment. I had fuego burger with a side of mac and cheese. Getting the mac and cheese was an add on for $5. Fortunately they made a mistake when bringing my food and brought fries. Thus, I had both. I am glad they did because the mac and cheese was average at best. Don't get it added on as a side would be my advice. Maybe putting it in a cast iron and adding bacon takes it to a new level. My wife had the caprese salad. Since it was on the salad menu we kind of expected it to be over a bed of lettuce. It is just the mozzarella cheese, large tomato slices with basil. She liked the overall taste but felt like it fell short of potential. My wife had the gummi beer She liked that it had different size and price options. She liked having power and control.
