LA’s New Restaurant Openings - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Just upstairs from recently opened hi-fi bar Only The Wild Ones in Venice, Force Of Nature is a tiny cocktail and wine "speakeasy" focused on female winemakers and distillers. The attic-esque space looks like the apartment of somebody who's into stick-and-poke tattoos and vinyl collecting, complete with a string-lit balcony that overlooks Abbot Kinney. Look for a short cocktail list that sprinkles things like palo santo and Malibu honey, and a nifty rooftop pulley system that lets you order pizzas from Fiorelli Pizza next door." - cathy park

A Hi-Fi Restaurant and Speakeasy Are About to Jazz Up Venice’s Abbot Kinney Boulevard | Eater LA

"Occupying the upstairs room (formerly an office for Neighbor) with an enchanting balcony overlooking the adjacent Cook’s Garden, this upstairs speakeasy was opened June 18 as a complementary, community-focused space. Partner Leena Culhane — of Crudo e Nudo — envisioned a spot to highlight winemakers, distillers, culinary creatives, and artists, and assembled a wine, cocktail, and non-alcoholic menu; the room is also used for workshops, special events, or anyone looking to hang out in a chill space with natural wines or drinks from the full bar. Culhane pulled cocktails from different parts of her career (including a stint at the Galley in Santa Monica) and emphasizes women-made spirits, including a Vesper made with Conniption Gin and a herby Amaricano Bianco liqueur. During opening weekend she sold out of reservations after releasing a batch on Resy. Culhane says, “We needed a community space at the beginning of COVID. At that moment in my life, I wanted a place to bring other women forward, which was hard to do for myself. So I pulled my shoulders back and lifted up my chin to support other women.” Hours: upstairs from 5 p.m.–9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Reservations are on Resy." - Mona Holmes

A very special place. Beautifully designed, truly relaxing, unique little spot for a drink. The wines were amazing of course, and had to try a cocktail too, also excellent. Delightful aperitvo accompanied our drinks. Everything so tastefully curated by Lenna....look forward to many evenings on the magical terrace.

Our group was let up stairs and then turned around 5 minutes later by the person managing the area. There was plenty of room but we just happened to be the only group there that had people in it that weren't white. Don't know if it was subconscious or just coincidence, but they handled it in an incredibly dismissive way. The whole thing just felt off.
