Yelp
Fabulous place for dinner, or in our case, a birthday dinner. Decided to make a last-minute Tuesday reservation for dinner in Scottsdale, and with all other places around Scottsdale booked, I found Forno 301 made a res for 7 people for 7:30pm a few hours before. Although there were few reviews, they were all positive, and we hoped for the best.
It's an unassuming building, I think what was possibly a fast food resturant in a past life (??). The ambiance was dimly lit, but their food shone through. Between 7 people, we ordered 3 apps, 3 pastas, 2 pizzas, and a bottle of house red wine ($29). Our waiter guided us through this, giving us recommendations along the way, and affirming whether this was enough food for us.
We munched on bread dipped in oil/vinegar prior digging into the following apps: Rucola salad (argula + pear), meatballs, and bruschetta, all of which were all delicious. Pastas were the fettucine, cavatelli, and pasta of the day (shrimp in red sauce); pizzas were the Diavolo and Heirloom + Crudo. We were very happy with each subsequent course, eating family style, able to try a bit of everything. Not only did we eat to our heart's content, but we had a couple slices of pizza leftover as a future snack - big props to the waiter for being a pro with his recommendations and serving size suggestions.
Not only this, the total ended up being ~$180 (including tip) between 7 people, around $25pp. For the amount of food and drink, we will be visiting again, no-brainer. Grazie, Forno!
