FORNO Wood Fired Pizza

So glad I finally got to try this gem! We really enjoyed our food! I think two people could have shared a pizza, if they aren't big eaters, but we each got our own. The pizzas cooked fast too! They were really yummy! I had a white pizza and my sis and mother unit each had a red one with sausage. We were all very satisfied. Excellent service as well, he answered the plethora of questions we had! We will be back!

Second time dining here. Atmosphere is cool and cozy. The servers were both kind and helpful. The food is fantastic! We had two different types of pizza both times, one “red” and the other “white”. However, the entire menu looks amazing and they have really good deals for each day of the week. So thankful to have a Neapolitan style pizza restaurant in the greater Joliet area.

Went to forno's wood pizza for the first time. I had baked spaghetti. My husband had the white pizza best pizza. He ever had and it was the best spaghetti. I've ever had and the server. Julian was amazing, very attentive, very friendly courteous. Not to mention the atmosphere was very, very clean. We'll be back. I recommend to everybody to come back.Try it out julian's an amazing server

Wonderful dining experience with superb service by Angela and excellent menu items which are authentic and deliciously prepared. FORNO is a real gem. A beautiful space which is bright and clean. The eatery sits in a small plaza on Jefferson street and has the absolute best Italian dishes in the area. We had two kinds of pasta and will be returning to try more dishes and the pizza. The lunch sandwiches looked amazing as well. So excited to find this high quality offered in the Joliet area so we can dine locally. Kudos!

Everything I've ordered has been outstanding!! The pizza is great! You can't go wrong with any pasta, and the sandwiches on the lunch menu are huge. Great place for dinner and drinks.

First time at FORNO. Very pleased with experience. Atmosphere is relaxed, food is fantastic, staff is friendly and does a great job. Fun to watch your pizzas be made in the wood-fire oven behind the bar. We will definitely be back here again, and if the next experience is even half as good as this one, I'll continue to be a returning customer.

This is a Five ⭐ restaurant across the board. Wood Fired Pizza O my goodness so Fresh and delicious not a heavy pizza the menu has a variety of Italian food. Our waiter Julian was superb and so professional and polite. Thank you for helping me choose a good wine to go along with my Italian dish. If you're looking for something new, especially in Joliet, try this Italian restaurant. I had a wonderful experience.😃💯

The food was amazing!!!! We tried the tre carne pizza, the burrata affogato and the New York strip steak with risotto!!!! This is my new favorite restaurant! We enjoyed the $8 crafted cocktails too!!! I will be returning often

What a gem of a pizza place. If you like Neapolitan pizza you will love this place. The pizzas are made right there next to the dining area so you can watch your pizza slide into the brick oven. The staff is amazing. They are so friendly and accommodating. They are always interested in your experience and the level of service you receive is hard to beat. Their cocktails are always made with attention to detail and taste amazing. I am an old fashioned snob and they make one of the best in town. They make it right. It is well balances, there is no fruit muddled and they never just add a filler (soda water). They use large ice cubes and it is always amazingly balanced. You will not be disappointed with Forno.

Food is amazing Service was spectacular. Ambiance is that classic small Italian neighborhood joint that everyone loves. Will definitely be back.

What a cute find in the middle of Joliet. Great food with great music. Looking forward to great pizza in their back patio this summer. You're immediately greeted by a beautiful mural of a pizza goddess sending her fire to keep the pizza oven burning. Had a pizza and an eggplant Parmesan sandwich off their extensive lunch menu.

This spot is the perfect blend of casual and fancy. It is totally comfortable but really feels like you are treating yourself. It is an excellent wood fired pizza with a very curated wine list. I really appreciate the fine glassware. Lovely service, lovely meal, looking forward to coming back!

Made our first visit on Sunday night. Food and service were excellent. High top tables and seats at the bar. Highly recommend.

What a disappointment! Have always enjoyed Forn o food. Today got a carryout of eggplant Parmesan and baked ziti. Food was terrible & a total waste of money. Both dishes were bland and tasteless. Bread was tasty.

We have visited Forno on a few occasions and each time the service and food was remarkably good. The inside is set up very nice. The large pizza oven is so cool and seeing the chiefs prepare the pizza for you with a smile on their face makes it that much better to try this restaurant. I would highly recommend checking this place out and enjoying good food and service.

Sooo impressed with this place! The service was outstanding & the food was phenomenal! We had pizza & pasta & can't wait to return again for both! So excited to have a place like this nearby!!

Unfortunately this is not our first experience of this kind at Forno. They close at 10. Arrived about 9:10. They were already mopping the floor. Ordered quickly. Home by 9:35. They just don't get the oven right. If you are going to advertise pizza like this you should really work to craft it correctly and not be in such a hurry to get out the door on a Saturday evening. The pizza was raw in the middle, burnt on the edges and this has happened several times. It was like they dumped a cup of water in the middle of the pizza. If this only happened once, I'd give it another chance, but it's just not worth it to keep trying. This is our last time at Forno.

$10 cannolis that were not good. NOT A CANNOLI or traditional. Strawberry was a sour taste , guessing Greek yogurt base. Lemon was a lemon curd & way to sweet, not sure about traditional one but definitely not traditional filling. Not worth $10 Now the pizza is another story! DELICIOUS! Had a margarita and a Chicago. Stick with that and skip dessert! Cooked perfectly

We started with the app. Burrata Affogato it was very good. Then i had a sausage pizza that was very good . My wife had there Spaghetti , arabiatta, shrimp, cherry tomato, garlic, basil, chili oil. We got to watch everything being made and talked with the cooks , it was a enjoyable and worth the price. It is a small place but all the staff was friendly .

Wow what an awesome place to have here in joliet! Waiting staff was very friendly, music was very fitting, felt like a higher end restraunt with affordable prices! I got the caprese salad, shared a garlic bread appetizer, and a burrata pepperoni and hot honey pizza! The caprese salad was both beautiful and tasty! Very fresh salad with a balsamic vinegar drizzle to give it the acidity it needs! Perfect! The appetizer comes with a red sauce on the side that was, not just flavorful, but surprisingly flavorful! Not your average sauce! Must try 10/10 The pizza has this beautiful ball of burratta cheese in the middle, very delicious. When it came to our table it looked so good I just started eating and didn't get a picture! And I was correct it was very good! Wood fired pizza from a 1700 degree oven! Came out hot and fast! Great crunch but not stiff! Again 10/10 Can't wait to come back!

I do a LOT of fairly high end cooking at home, and have been disappointed for months at the quality of food at the restaurants I've been to. That bad run was disrupted last night at Forno. I decided to get something different than I normally would and ordered the Burrata & Honey pizza with capicola and chili oil. Wow! It was so good the first thing I did after I got up today was heat up the left overs and devour them. Well done Forno! The staff was also attentive!

This little pizza/pasta restaurant is very cute! The food was also very good. I would have given them four stars except for the fact that the honey and burrata pizza I ordered apparently has meat on it even though it's not listed on the menu and the waitress apologized for not telling me but really didn't act like it was a big deal. It wasn't a huge deal because I'm not vegetarian (just don't like a lot of meat) so it was simply annoying that I had to dig around and pick it all off, but it IS a big deal that it's not listed on the menu! She just said "oh yeah...sorry. I always forget to tell people that"‍

We ordered delivery yesterday. One Chicago and one Margarita pizza. Both pizza seemed to be undercooked, when you picked up a slice the entire slice fell apart. The taste was subpar and the crust wasn't good at all. I think I would try again but go and sit down and order. Wouldn't recommend delivery.

Made reservations for 16. They were very accommodating, friendly and attentive. I don't know how the waitress took such good care of so many people at the same time. Food was terrific . We ordered a few appetizers; Fire Roasted Meatballs, Fried Calamari and Burrata Affogato. Pizzas; ruffle, prosciutto and arugula and Diavolo. Pastas were also awesome; baked ziti and rigatoni. Everything was tasty and fresh. Everyone had a great experience. Not my first time here. They never disappoint. Highly recommend!

Last Tuesday I ordered 2 pizzas to go. The. Margarita and Genovés. This was my second time and I am impressed. The chewy texture, fresh ingredients and great flavors. I will return. There is an old world flavor and cooking method that comes through. If on my 3 rd order it is equally good they may get 5 starts. There are many good pizza places around but Forno is climbing the ranks in my book!

What a place. We were looking for a place to go and have some good pasta and we found this place and decided to give it a try and man o man, it was the best decision ever. Unbelievable pasta, great portions and awesome ambiance. If I could give them 100 stars, I most definitely would. This place is a gem!

Awesome wood fired pizza! Cool to have some different options in the area, the Buratta and honey pizza and Geovese were so good! We also had a delicious cocktail. Mine was an upscale mule with fresh mint and my husband had a specialty beer that was similar to orange soda. This place is a real gem. Don't miss it.

This is a very small place so make sure you make a reservation. They have beer too! On draft! Craft beer! I hear they also have a nice selection of wine. The waitress said the Honey and Burrata pizza pairs well with wine. Her name was Sarah and she was spectacular! All of the staff was cool. The pizza was good and the prices were reasonable. The decor was neat! Take a look at that oven!!! All in all, only one small complaint...the box for takeaway was way too big! Don't they know their food is sooooo very good, the amount to box up is small? ? Go there, it is good.

I always enjoy coming to Forno. The pizza is great, service is awesome and the pasta is one of kind. I recommend this place to everyone I know. The lemondrop drink is delicious but only if it was a a bigger cup

Lovely Neapolitan style pizza with a perfect crust, chewy and tender, and an excellent variety of red and white pizzas. The wine list of all Italians was also excellent, as was the service. We had the nduja and the tre carne to try a white and a red pizza. Both were very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Seriously, y'all, the crust is an amazing representation of a Neapolitan style pizza. The wine paired well with the pizza and the calamari, changing in depth and sweetness with the dishes. Again, the service was wonderfully welcoming. Y'all, I'm sad I'm only here for the weekend and can't have this place as my regular pizza and pasta place.

"O" yes! We go for the attractive and very courteous bartenders. Forget the food and drink! Lol! when you have those two good looking gentleman. Jovani and Brad!! They make amazing craft cock tail. Very friendly and polite bartenders and service. I will always go back. Love visiting Jovani and Brad, they both know exactly what I like and how I like it.

We came here after a long day of driving on our road trip from California. Issac was our server, and he was so helpful and nice! I ordered paccheri pasta it was deliciously spice and comforting. My husband ordered the chicago stone fired pizza which he ate all of. We ended with the homemade taramisu absolutely the best we've ever had. Loved, loved everything about this wonderful place.

I heard from friends that the pizza here was great and came to try first time tonight. Yes!!! Everything was delicious!!! Amazing customer service, food was incredible and the ambiance is nice. I highly recommend

Service and food and drink was excellent in choices and quality! The manager and servers were friendly and really went out of their way . The atmosphere was calm and romantic. It was also extremely clean ! We will be back

It's good if you know your pizza. If you're the type to order from dominoes or Pizza Hut, you won't like it, but if you're a little more cultured you'll love it!

Been here many times, and had great food and service, still did today. But the food portions are sad. I get today was half price pasta, but what does it cost to fill the bowl a bit more with pasta, five cents extra. It brings back a customer maybe on the weekend who will pay full price. It was a appetizer portion! Still $8 so it wasn't like they were giving it away for free. We drank multiple expensive drinks. Come on Forno. Fill the bowl up a little bit.

Absolutely fantastic! The restaurant is smaller than I expected but, it was not an issue. We were seated right away. Tables are all high tops or bar seating. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a beautiful mural on the wall behind the bar. The opposite wall are 'garage door' type doors that open when weather permits. Service was excellent. Sarah, our server, was friendly and very helpful with our questions. She offered to bring samples of beers or wine so we could try them before we bought a whole glass. That was a nice option. The manager had stopped our table to apologize for the restaurant being warm ( we didn't feel like it was warm) and we appreciated that he cared enough to stop and speak with all of the customers. We shared the meatball appetizer and it was delicious. We then shared the Chicago Pizza and it was also delicious. It needed a touch of salt but, otherwise very good. The pizza was perfectly cooked with a nice chewy crust. Overall, the experience was wonderful and we fully intend on going back!

Small business that you hope was run by family. But the owner is never there . Dirty restroom with a light out. Cardboard and bags if you go out to the patio but way to hot out. Inside you hope to get a cool breeze . Servers and bartenders top notch! Pizza is fancy like a classic medium size. Cocktails definitely helped cool us down while we were there. Sadly the desert wasnt ready

I've been waiting for this place to open up. I made reservations because I knew how small the unit was. I had a party of 9 and we went after my college graduation around 4:30 pm. First off, the design of this place is beautiful, unique, and hip! We had Julian as our server and we were not mad nor disappointed AT ALL. He was awesome and attentive! He made lots of recommendations because it was me and my party's first time here. To sum it up, YES YES YES just do it! I would just suggest to made reservations if it more then 2 of you dinning in. Luckily he hinted towards them having the idea to put expand but opening up a patio so they will be able to serve more guests.

This was absolutely outstanding! 10/10. We had the Brussels Sprouts appetizer, 3 pizza's (Prosciutto & Arugula, Burrata & Honey, and Margherita) and Tiramisu for desert. Everything was mind blowing good! I will say Burrata & Honey was the most surprising and best of them all. The flavors and contrast in every bite was just out of this world. The Brussels Sprouts were so good you need two orders because you don't want to stop. Down side it's a little small for how good the place is

If you lived in the southern states perhaps the pizza maybe ok, but not here in the north. I wanted to try the pie but it looked strange to me, not like the traditional pizza we are accustomed to. When the server explained the texture of the pie and suggested to fold it in half and eat it like a taco, we declined and left. There's many pizza joints in the area that prepare traditional pizza pies.

First time here, all food was amazing the service was outstanding friendly environment. Really enjoyed watching their pizza guy throw down all the pizzas. Highly recommend coming to try this place out! :))

after a long day in Chicago my wife and i stopped by for dinner. we were met at door by the bartender and waiter Julian. he was very helpful with the menu (Napolia style pizza with ingredients in italian on menu) the food came quickly and you can watch the cook making your food. the Burrata Affogato appetizer was excellent -- even contemplated ordering a second one to take with us. the chicago pizza was warm and chewy -- the jalapeños adding a nice kick and the crust could be used for dipping up more of the appetizer! finished off the meal with a cannoli trio which had a nice sharp zing from the lemon and strawberry Julian kept checking on us to see if we needed refills or more food even though he was the only wait staff in the 6 table restaurant

If you live anywhere near here or if you are passing by, this place is a MUST!!!! The service, food, and drinks were all impeccable. The man making the pizza made it look like an art, impressive. The burrata and honey pizza is too die for! It was delicious from apps to dessert. The waiter, the gentleman managing were both so kind and attentive. It was a wonderful experience. The place is small but quaint with a great ambiance. I recommend a reservation just to be on the safe side. Do not pass this place up!

The culinary experience was very disappointing, and costly. From a pizza floating in water to fishy smelling calamari and nothing having any flavor, our party just wasn't impressed. It must be noted that the manager came by and took creative criticism very well. I hope that his interest was sincere and will result in changes that will make Forno worth celebrating and adding a few more stars! We chose it because the ratings were so great, but we left wondering if all the ratings and reviews were submitted by friends and family of the proprietors.

Despite the myriad pizz joints around (it's the Chicagoland area, duh), this place does it for me. The pizza is old school Italian, a nice departure from the standard issue varieties the area is know for. Crust and toppings are marvelous. The pastas are all on point too. Great tap list and service to boot. A must try.

First and last time. Ordered the braised short rib pappardelle pasta. Actually 2 orders. One for me and my son. There was no depth to sauce. It was almost watery. And the noodles were a flavorless mush. The garlic bread wasn't even true bread. It was more of a Naan which is great with Indian food but when what you want is Italian it kind of disappoints. It's was ordered as a takeout so I couldn't really send back as it is 6 degrees outside and not worth freezing over. But I definitely won't be back.
