South Lincoln icon for value and comfort—especially the local specialty, peanut butter chicken, often cited in regional chatter. Friendly service, quick tickets, and a menu of nostalgic favorites make it a go-to for many families.

Google
Best peanut butter chicken in town! Wonderfull crispy fried white meat chicken without excessive breading. Good fried rice and eggrolls/crab rangoon too. They also have the good sweet and sour sauce that seems to be going away at all other Chinese restaurants in town. The staff are great at this restaurant and care about customer feedback.

Google
Food is pretty decent. It's just your average americanized Chinese restaurant selection: sweet and sour chicken, crab rangoon, fortune cookies, and the likes, but it's done really well. I personally recommend the orange chicken and fried rice. As for the atmosphere, pretty mediocre. Buddha statues, plastic waving cats, glass dividers between tables, etc.. Service not too great. Definitely a really neat joint for your next family outing, but there are for sure other options in the area to consider.

Google
My husband and I have been going here for years and we love it but we went recently, I got Mongolian beef which I have always loved from there. Unfortunately, it seems as though the beef has been changed and I did not find it enjoyable. The beef that was used before was so delicious every single time and I hope they do bring it back. Everything else is great there!

Google
We moved out of state a few years ago and mourn the fact that we are no longer able to come here and get our favorite food! Anytime we come back into town, including today, we always make it a priority to stop here and have a bite to eat. Delicious and great service as always.

Google
The food was so greasy and worst food we have eaten at chinese. was highly recommended so we tried. Ordered fried rice for both meals and got white overcooked mushy white rice. Wontons were so bad my dog wouldn't eat them. I was the only person there and ordered take out. Do not recommend. If I had a choice they wouldnt have gotten one star.

Google
Best Chinese food in South Lincoln. Very good takeout in South Lincoln with hands down the greatest egg rolls in the business. Great all around.

Clara Durham

Google
Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming at best and we threw most of it away. Staff was friendly and the food came out quick. I’m unsure why it’s ranked as it is, one of the worst food experiences I’ve had in a while.

Google
I have to say this is really a 💎 gem to find.. I happened to look this up on google and found this place for lunch 🥰.. the Lady that took my order was very nice and she's very helpful... I liked her 😁 smile.. the food is really 🤯awesome and very fast. I wish they had the Fortune Palace in Norfolk Nebraska. maybe she can give us tips😂... I totally recommend this place to anybody that is in Lincoln for lunch or supper I'd go here people..

Yelp
My go to place for ordering Chinese food. Sad that they don't deliver at all. I wished they deliver but it's okay! I used to live by this place and gotten the same thing I always get to this day. I order the crab Rangoons and shrimp fried rice with a drink. The service is amazing they'll give you an estimate time of when the food is ready. Plus the inside of the restaurant is small but nice too

Kerby N.

Yelp
We called ahead for take out so we wouldn't have to wait. They said it would be ready in about 10 minutes. We arrived about 15 minutes later and they hadn't even started on it, and there was no wait or line. I waited 10 minutes after arriving to get my order. When I asked why they didn't prepare anything until I arrived, she said that this way it's fresh and not soggy.

Yelp
Peanut butter chicken is excellent. Food always hot when getting take out!! Soup good too

Yelp
Very nice people working here. They were all happy to see me and answered all my questions about their menu items. It's Chinese food, so your don't expect a lot of surprise. However, the owner explained what was in a dish, with a ton of detail. I appreciated that. Try the rangoon, and the noodles. One "regular" entre, a soup, 2 egg rolls, and an order of rangoon was _plenty_ for my wife and me, for $20, before tip.

Bryson S.

Yelp
Greatest Chinese I've ever had in my life. I usually get the sesame chicken with fried rice and it is delicious. The crab Rangoon and sweet and sour are also amazing. The people that work there are very polite and nice. Very quick service. I've been eating there for years and would highly recommend!

John Teri M.

Yelp
Horrible.. dirty.. don't waste your money or time.. Hot sour was ok. Burnt Mongolian beef . Bland

Yelp
The absolute best Chinese food in Lincoln in my opinion. We like to go in and order a bunch of things then get extra plates and eat family style. The cornerstone of our meal is always their hot braised chicken extra extra spicy. Pro tip though eat in the restaurant, it still taste great as Takeaway but the hot braised chicken breading is crispy and delicious eating in but gets a bit soggy as take away. They have fantastic hot and sour soup, whenever I have a cold I order a big one to go and sip on it and it is instant relief. Some kind of magic in that soup.

Anthony S.

Yelp
Fried rice had no flavor. General TSO chicken was awful and I wouldn't recommend it. Chicken was over breaded and under fried. It was a big mushy mess. Wish I could give it a zero
google avatar

Jen H.

Yelp
No flavor! We ordered because of reviews. I would definitely not recommend. Everything we ordered was bland soggy and tasteless. Disappointed indeed. I also think I found a hair. We ended up throwing away all the food. Waste of money.
google avatar

Luke D.

Yelp
Been doing here for almost 30 years. Peanut butter chicken is #1 and a unique option too.
google avatar

Ken H.

Yelp
No fuss Chinese restaurant order always comes out piping hot. Love the Mongolian Beef and Peanut Butter Chicken plus the hot and sour soup.
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
We ordered several things. All were pretty gross. The Hot Braised Pork tasted only of salty soy sauce and funny enough the sesame chicken tasted identical. Both were disgustingly soggy. The pork fried RICE was more gross little peas & carrots than rice. The veggie lo mein had ZERO flavor. The crab Rangoon were decent but the sweet & sour sauce tasted like and had the consistency of cherry Kool-aide. We will not return ever.

Jazmin V.

Yelp
Great food! Amazing service too! Wish I would've gotten a little bit more orange chicken for the price I paid but other than that it was great!

Yelp
This place is pretty popular!-I had never been . I am into traditional Asian foods and flavors so I was hoping for something spicy. I ordered the Thai spiced pork. And she informed me it was more sweet. I should have asked for more spicy no sweet, it was good, had flavor, lotsa veggies ( I'm trying to eat more veggies) but lacked the heat I was hoping for. Wouldn't say this is a good spot for real foodies seeking authentic Chinese food, wouldn't see many actually Asian ppl ( in a full house there was none, prolly 25 American ppl dining though !) so while it wasn't what I was hoping for it wasn't bad at all. Just very Americanized. The last place I tried in Lincoln I threw away it was so bad so this was definitely way better then that .Will have to try the lomein next time and ask for true spicy food.

Yelp
Never disappointed with fortune palace! Price is great. Food is delicious & consistent. It's always ready in the time estimate they give, & staff is always friendly!

Yelp
Well lets see, what Can I say about this place? I have been coming to Fortune Palace ever since it opened way back when. I'm 34 now and still love coming here. Only downside is, that I have to trek across the city to just get here, but I'm never disappointed. Their selection is always on par, and might I say, they have the best crab Rangoon in town. It's just so...yummy. I'm drooling just thinking about it. ANYWAY... If you come here, ask for the Honey shrimp. It's like deep fried shrimp just bathed in a vast ocean of Honey Sauce. Damn it, I'm drooling again. Looks like I have somewhere to go for lunch today. Thank You, Internet! Seriously though. This place is a gem inside of Lincoln. People and staff are very Kind and respectful. Little bit more than what I would normally like to pay, but Oh...it's so worth it.

Sarah L.

Yelp
This is a Lincoln staple! If you haven't been here before, it is definitely worth a try!

Yelp
South lincoln is lacking in good Chinese food. However Fortune Palace has been a go to spot for South Lincoln residents for many years. Located at 56th and Old Cheney, this place has all the favorites and a few yummy variations you might not expect. You can boil everything down to the protein, and the sauce. For protein you get chicken, shrimp, pork, beef or veggie. For the sauce, you can get honey, Thai chili, teriyaki or peanut. They have the classics like Tso, orange, princess, le mm on etc. Then you can go with fried rice, steamed, chow mein, or lo mein, or rice noodles. They have it all, and it's all tasty. Worth checking this place out next time you are on the hunt for good Chinese in the south end of town.

Rachel J.

Yelp
For Lincoln, this place is great! And they were super friendly! Even allowed me to sample something before ordering it! Lincoln's chinese places allllll seem the same, but this one is different! And their options for vegetarians is awesome! Also, try their rice noodles!!! Sooooo good!

Susan D.

Yelp
I am giving 4 stars.... Only Because I know help is hard to find. I live in AZ and could not wait to have great Chinese food. When I visit family, this is our go to place. Must say, it was not as good as I remember. Next time we visit, I hope it is as amazing as I remember.

Kiet L.

Yelp
This place is great, family own and be in the business over 25 years. Their Tso's Chicken is the best, Peanut Butter Chicken and best home made Eggrolls and home made sweet and sour sauce.
google avatar

David H.

Yelp
I have eaten at a LOT of Chinese restr's and Fortune Palace is without a doubt one of the best! Excellent fried rice!
google avatar

Chelsea C.

Yelp
Went downhill after the years, had the sesame chicken and it was mostly breading....the rice tasted like cardboard. Gave us the wrong side too.

Yelp
In my whole life, I have never tasted worse Chinese food. We stopped in this restaurant (based upon the reviews herein) while driving back home from Colorado. Sadly, I do not know whether the other reviewers have never had Chinese food from anywhere else or, more likely, if these are simply shill/sponsored reviews. Nothing was fresh or even passable fare. The egg rolls tasted like they were reheated once a week in the deep fryer over the course of a month and when they were heated on my go-around, the congealed grease would have made you gag. Perhaps, I attempted two mouthfuls of food before admitting defeat. It pains me to write this review, since the entire staff seemed warm and friendly but if you are traveling on a road trip through Lincoln, please do yourself a favor and stop anywhere else. The one thing that I'll agree with is that the food is cheap...but my wife (from China) and I were completely misled by the reviews and cannot offer a single reason to patronize this establishment.

Yelp
No luck finding authentic Chinese in Lincoln--this dining experience was horrible! The peanut butter chicken and General Tso chicken--both "chef specialties"--we're heavily breaded, soggy, greasy and inedible. The hot and sour soup seemed to be out of a can. I can't believe anyone would give this poor excuse for a restaurant a favorable review. This place is heinously bad! My sincerity and review are real. Save yourself from Fortune Palace--it will be the worst Chinese cuisine you will have the misfortune to eat.

David F.

Yelp
Always enjoy the food and service is excellant. Excellabt grab and go if not dining in!
google avatar

Dennis N.

Yelp
This is the best, most consistent Chinese food I've found in my 40-years in Lincoln. Not any fancy atmosphere, service that is cordial but not friendly (at all) but consistently great chinese food. I especially like their General Tao's Chicken (extra spicy) and their Hot-Spicy Soup. Prices are very reasonable and they have "Family Sized" portions for sharing. They can handle a single or a group of 20 people. Take-out is FREAKY-FAST so if you call ahead don't allow more than 5 minutes--or it will be waiting for you and getting cold!
google avatar

Sue R.

Yelp
Good food , great prices & a clean friendly environment they were also quick with my take out order . Szechuan beef and broccoli with lo mein.
google avatar

Frankie R.

Yelp
Inexpensive fast, and tasty. My favorite Chinese place in Lincoln.

Alyssa B.

Yelp
I love the staff they're all so nice. Also, I highly recommend the teriyaki chicken wings. They're gasssssss

Yelp
Food was delicious. But no fortune in cookie. Dafuq. Amirite? This is my classiest Haiku Review so far.

Al D.

Yelp
Best Chinese food in Lincoln, Nebraska And very consistent on quality of their food !!
google avatar

Joseph S.

Yelp
Reallly good and extremly fast good food and fast need say more worth going out of way great rice hot sour soup

Jerilyn T.

Yelp
The food is great. The only thing I have a problem with is the service. I call ahead for takeout orders, they give me a time and when I show up I'm still having to wait because they haven't even started my order. What's the point of calling in your order when they don't even start it until you show up? At least when I call in a takeout order to Shens Cafe I only have to wait a minute or two to get my order. And it's still hot.

Sarah J.

Yelp
I've been eating at Fortune Palace I think since it opened and I can tell you with 100% honesty that I've never had a bad meal here. We don't even live in Lincoln anymore but we still eat here or do takeout as often as we can. Won't go anywhere else! PS. Try the Mongolian Beef, you'll thank me later!
google avatar

Yelp
Lincoln's hidden gem! I really think this restaurant has the best Chinese food in Lincoln. My favorites are their crab rangoon, Mongolian beef/pork, peanut butter chicken and their Lo mein. Portions are always generous. The owners are friendly and nice. Also, their fountain Pepsi is very delicious! We've been loyal customers for a very long time.
google avatar

Yelp
Fortune Palace has the fastest and best chinese food in Lincoln! I have been going there for years, and it hasn't changed other than they expanded. Sometimes when you use "fast" and chinese" people think it will be bad. But it is really good. You walk in and walk up to the counter where you place your order. The menu is right above you. Once you order and pay, you can go and sit down and they will bring your food out to you. Excellent portions and quality, and if you need more than normal you can get it in "family size".

J H.

Yelp
Avoid this place at all costs. I'm currently in the process of looking for quality American-Chinese takeout in Lincoln, and I've come across another failure. As soon as I walked in the door, bells and whistles went off telling me not to expect much. On a Monday evening, the floors were dirty. The front area were orders are taken is a complete mess and uninviting. Browsing the menu, I ordered the Sesame Chicken regular size with a side of Crab Rangoon. Prices were reasonable (total bill of $9) and service was quick and friendly. So far so good. I get home and try my first bite of chicken. Disgusting. It is just saturated with salt and/or MSG. The breading is extremely loose and soggy. I attempted to scrape the breading off each piece individually and see if that's any better. Nope, it's just very low quality. The fried rice was very plain. I tried the crab rangoons. They were only average but were definitely lacking filling. Even the red sweet and sour sauce was very thin, like it had been diluted. All in all, I finished just under half of my meal before I threw the rest away. I would say I have a very high tolerance for food and I hate seeing it go to waste. But it is very clear this restaurant is cutting corners as much as they can. I had no other choice but to discard most of what I ordered because of how awful it was. Oh well, time to pick another place in Lincoln off the map and see if I can find anything better. P.S. Another indicator I noticed when I entered the restaurant is the wait staff was younger white girls, and the clientele was older white folks. I'm not trying to sound racist here, but in my experience, the more the staff and clientele's ethnicity matches the ethnicity of the food they are serving, the higher quality the restaurant tends to be. Take that as you will.

Meghan S.

Yelp
This is my favorite quick Chinese place in town; I've been going there for 20 years. The owner and staff are always friendly & the food is fresh and ready fast.
google avatar

David M.

Yelp
I don't understand how anyone can not give this place 10 stars this is by far the best Chinese place to eat in Lincoln! Anyone that didn't like their food here is a complete fucking idiot, everything is fresh and made from scratch when you order it, they have the best egg rolls in the city by far and nothing is soggy or cooked before you order it. I have been coming here for YEARS and have never been disappointed in anything I ever ordered.
google avatar

Lucas H.

Yelp
I don't understand how anyone would give this five stars. We ordered grab rangoons and I don't think they could fill them with any LESS stuffing. Basically a fried crab Rangoon with out the crab mix. Served with brown rice!?!? Did I need to specify white like every other Chinese restaurant we want white rice? The sweet and sour was decent, but very onion heavy and light in peppers. The garlic chicken slop got was not finished. Two stars was generous. The service was friendly.
google avatar

Ryan C.

Yelp
My favorite chinese place in Lincoln by far! Friendly & professional owners, amazing entrees, best eggrolls in town, prompt take-out service, and reasonable prices. Whats not to like? Highly recommended!

Lady C.

Yelp
I would love to give this place 5 stars but I just can't. On one hand, I love the entrees and the egg rolls are to die for. The restaurant seems clean and the staff is friendly. However, there are a few things about this restaurant that I dislike. The first is that their rice is horrible. When selecting steamed or fried to go with your entrée, the fried rice is tasteless, bland and stuck together. It doesn't resemble anything close to the fried rice that accompanies entrees at every other Chinese restaurant, no peas, no carrots, no eggs. With that being said, I know they are capable of amazing, because if you order fried rice as a entrée it's great. I realize that fried rice as an "entrée" will be fresh and taste special, but they could infinitely improve their sides. Even though I like this place, I am shopping for a new restaurant for that reason. Secondly, in my experience, every time I have ordered a to go order- they waited to make it until I got there.
google avatar

David G.

Yelp
Egg rolls were as good as promised. Can't say the same about the sesame chicken. Sauce was watery & sour, breading fells off the pieces, & portion size was small. Get multiple egg rolls, not sure about much else
google avatar

Amy K.

Yelp
Good Chinese food! Fast and delicious everytime. It's always busy but the wait is minimal since they're fast. Great customer service and management.

Myron R.

Yelp
The girls if they have work in there always have an attitude they never greet you with a smile they don't have any customer service at all the older lady that works there she's OK she's kind of bossy maybe if you're a regular there she's nice but if you just go there every once in a while she kind of acts like you owe her something the food is all right standard Chinese American food nothing to authentic about it I don't go back just because of the customer service

Zachary J.

Yelp
The food is good, but the service is less than ideal. My friend waited over twenty minutes to receive her meal, while others who arrived at the restaurant after us, received their meals first. My friend had to go up to the front counter to ask the whereabouts of her food.
google avatar

Tatiana L.

Yelp
Delicious food! Friendly people! It's been our favorite asian place for 20+yrs. Highly recommend!
