Beyond my expectations! A well thought out 100% plant based menu, which made it hard to choose! We ended up splitting 2 entrees and a small plate between two of us so we could try several things. Very young crowd on Friday and Saturday nights Dancing floor gets crowded later in the night. it's difficult to get a drink. Never felt unsafe here, love that they have security all over the place. There is broken glass in the women's bathroom. Dope DJs on Saturday night, it's really hard to stop dancing

A cool lounge vibe in a beautiful hotel. Love that everything is plant based and it is was a fun charcuterie journey. I was amazed at how great the cheese and the whole experience was. My favorite was the smoked Gouda. They menu matched the vibe well and we spent hours talking and just enjoying the uniquely beautiful love this place shared with us.

The night was a little young for me so I decided to enjoy a couple of drinks and listen to some music before heading back to my hotel room. The DJ played some really good music and if my friends were with me, we would have taken over that dance floor. The staff here were all friendly! (P.s, I came back here again for a late night dinner because the Ramen house that I wanted to go to was closed for the night lol )

A super cool and vibrant spot for creative drinks. I love how open the space is with colorful decors and many seatings. The bartenders were both very friendly. We got the Watermelon Magarita and Shinobi's. Both were very tasty and well-made. Totally would be back to try more!

Love the staff and the close proximity to hotel and valet parking!! Gets super crowded near and around small dance floor but three sections and areas for plenty of separate seated spaces? Line forms outside around 10-11pm but early arrival for more chill dope vibes at 9....Highly recommended!!

Very confused why Fortune has such low reviews when the vegan food here is so tasty and the vibes are cozy. The vegan mozzarella sticks are absolutely delicious with gooey filling that perfectly complements the marinara sauce. Don't resist the temptation to savor every crunchy bite! The chicken burger here is iconic and an exact replica of the McChicken at McDonald's from the creamy mayo to the sweetness of the bun and the delightful texture of the chicken. And let's not forget about the seasoned crunchy fries. Unfortunately, the bacon mac n cheese didn't quite hit the mark for me, as the sweetness was a bit overwhelming. I accidentally left my hair clip here, but the servers went above and beyond by kindly keeping it for me. Exceptional service!

Awesome bar with cool moody lighting and fun events! Went on a jazz night and it was very cozy... Chicken sandwich was soo good. I cant believe they can make vegan meat have the same juiciness, tenderness, and flavor as actual chicken. The mozzarella sticks were amazing as well, not too stretchy, but a bit more gooey, flavorful, and warm. Chipotle mac and cheese was good but sat a bit heavy in my stomach. I think it was also a bit too sweet overall, and the bacon bits were a tad bit too salty. Go with the chicken sandwich and mozzarella sticks for sure. The drinks were also good but I just had beers on tap. Service was excellent and bartenders were friendly and on point.

Fortune has really turned around over the last few years. I'm not a huge fan of crowds, this place has a chill and somewhat "romantic" vibe before the music starts. Cocktails and mocktails are fun and delicious and the food is just... chefs kiss!

My friend went ahead of me in line and got rejected for being "too drunk" after one drink at another bar. None of us were drunk and the bouncer was on a power trip. Not sure what her deal was but legitimately she was being an asshole. She could "smell" alcohol while everyone else on line was also at least several drinks in. Will not be going back to a bar while a bouncer like that will be there. Not worth it.

If I was just rating this place based upon what I ordered I would give it 5 stars, but I was the only one in my party that thought my burger was delicious. I had the Bakon Jam & Gruyere Burger which I thought was yummy, but my mom and husband had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich which wasn't nearly as exciting. I tried a bite, and I have to agree it was rather on the bland side. Everyone wished they had ordered what I had. We also had an order of Mozzarella Sticks, which was thankfully enjoyed by all. Overall this is an interesting place, as the ambiance is very hip and trendy, but the menu is very simple, which doesn't really match up to overall esthetics.

My gosh this place is SO WONDERFUL!! I am a pescatarian who eats a mostly vegetarian diet and has become very sensitive to lactose. When I come to Fortune I can order anything on the menu! This is not something I can do at most restaurants so this is a huge win for this place. I have only been here earlier in the day for drinks and food. From what I understand this place is more like a club in the evening. Food and drinks are all ordered from the bartenders who have all been very nice and great with recommendations. The kitchen gets the food out quickly and it has always tasted amazing. I plan to come back as often as I can so I can try everything on the menu! The vibe in this place is so cute! I love the colors and wallpaper. They also have a great photobooth in the back. It does not produce paper photo strips. All you photos come to you digitally via text. Fun to share on social media.

Ahhhhh none of the staff from February when I last visited was there. The bar staff was all new. Thank goodness. Because service was VERY good tonight. We arrived a bit after 6 and found the cozy couches available and snagged them. We ordered a Cabana Boy, 10 Barrel Beer, Cabernet, Wilderton Negroni, Roy Rogers, Shirley Temple, 2 nachos, 2 Out and In Burgers and a Nashville Hot Chicken. First of all, the bartender remembered everything. I forgot if I had told her the Cabana Boy & she thought she'd forgotten one of our meals. We confirmed everything & I opened a tab. Our food and drinks all came out pretty quick. My son and Mom both had the Out and In Burger; my daughter and I had the Ultimate Nachos and my husband had the Nashville Hot Chicken. My mom notoriously never finishes a burger or sandwich when we eat out. EVER. And she finished it all. She is a carnivore and said it was delicious. She also loved the fries because we both prefer shoestring fries and crispy fries. My son usually complains about some feature of his burger or won't have his fries. He LOVED his burger. And actually ate it all. He said it was his favorite burger he'd ever had. Which is HIGH praise. My daughter was ALL about the nachos until she saw they were jackfruit. I said "Ellie, have I ever lead you astray with food?" And she said "No. I'll try them." Well by the end of her plate she was saying "mmmm Mama, those Nachos were SO good." Exactly kid. My husband ate his Nashville Hot Chicken SO fast my daughter got a TINY taste (she loves spicy food!) So that was his way of saying he loved it. I have had almost everything on the menu, and the nachos always made me feel full without feeling icky so I got those. The chips themselves were WAY thicker than the previous chips he'd used but I think they handled moisture and the heavy food better than the others. So maybe that's why the change, I'm not sure. I didn't prefer the taste as much to the others but they held up. Delicious as always. I am glad we stopped into Fortune, as the sole reason for stars last time was Papi's food. Everyone in our party agreed from the senior, to the kiddos that the food was great! This time the service was great too. We will be back!! Can't wait to have more of Papi's food!!!

Unassuming cocktail bar with one of the best gluten free/vegan experiences I've had by far. The atmosphere was lively with a Jazz band playing in the background (every Wednesday night). The attention to detail and the service was remarkable and everyone was so friendly! The menu is seasonal and we started with a charcuterie board with cheeses from Cultured Kindness that were out of this world. The taste and texture resembled that of spreadable cheese and the house-made bacon jam only elevated each bite. The gluten free bread (not normally offered) was toasted perfectly with garlic oil and complemented the cheese and the other accompaniments. We also had a bakon wrapped date with a cashew cream cheese filling which was out of this world. This is a MUST-TRY item, don't sleep on this dish. For our main, I had the vegan shawarma bowl with cauliflower rice that was delectable, creamy, and balanced with roasted veggies. We then finished with a shareable gluten free brownie topped with a blueberry compote and Oatly vanilla ice cream! I highly recommend all my gluten free/dairy free/vegan folks to check out this hidden gem of a place!

This place is NOT safe for women. My friends and I went here on a Saturday night and a number of us were grabbed, or even forcibly kissed, on the dance floor. No one noticed and the men were not escorted out. However, two of my friends were kicked out for bringing their drinks with them into the bathroom. Which totally boggles my mind - are women supposed to leave their drinks out in the open at the bar unattended when they use the restroom? Are you kidding me? Absolutely backwards values and overall an extremely uncomfortable experience for a group of women. We will not be returning and I highly encourage women to steer clear.

Fortune PDX is a trendy bar on SW 11th! Enter through the hotel or the street side door with the neon sign above (we tried a different locked door that had an a-frame sign misleadingly pointing at it - oops). They ARE checking vaccinations, as posted on the door. I didn't see this on their website or Instagram so just a heads up! I stopped by because Plant Based Papi, currently in the kitchen at Fortune PDX, was running a weekend menu special based the favorite fast food burger place of every Californian. Super smart promo for all the transplants, and amazing to create those food items in a plant-based way! If only the actual company would do so. Food was a 5/5. The bartender let us know there might be a bit of a wait but it came out in 15 minutes - no problem. It wasn't necessarily a direct copy of what it was an homage to, but honestly it was better. The sauce was pretty similar (which is amazing for not having animal products). The fries were amazing. The burger was thick (lots of lettuce) and the Impossible patty had a charred flavor. The drink was 3/5. I ordered the watermelon sour margarita. It was smaller than I'd hoped, in a cool glass cup that looked like a candle holder. The candies on top were a nice tough but the flavor of the drink didn't taste all that watermelon-y or sour. There was lots of ice. Fortune's atmosphere is a cool vibe. Maximalist patterns, bright green paint, some neon signs. Adjacent to the Sentinel's hotel lobby so it's a great option for visitors. The music was a tad too loud for my tastes at happy hour time (~4:30pm). I think Fortune benefits from having Plant Based Papi in their kitchen and I hope they partner together successfully for a long time to come! I'll keep an eye on their social media for any special promotions to come.

Updating my review now that Dinger's is here. I've been here twice in the last two to three weeks and the food is way faster. I went in tonight and got too tipsy on two Rum Runners. The drinks are poured well needless to say. I also had the most delicious vegan Caesar salad with vegan friend chicken. It was served by a super friendly person in the kitchen who sat down to talk to me when they brought it out, and honestly it was unexpected, but I loved this level of service. They were awesome and made the experience for me tonight. Whomever you are, never change. The bartenders were great and super attentive as usual. Shoutout to the curly-haired person who served me a glass of water at the bar when I hadn't been planning to sit there and was having a bad day. I sat down and enjoyed everything after that. And shoutout to the long, dark-haired person who made me the original rum runner from my last review and my second one tonight. I'll get your name next time. I've only had good experiences at Fortune! Even came here during Halloween last year and had the most fun for free.99 when I had planned to pay a $25 cover to get into somewhere else. I never made it to the second location because I was dancing so much and even had my own personal private booth in the back with my friend. Phnm was the DJ and unfortunately moved elsewhere, but the vibes were great! Love it here.

Ok, I'm just going to say 1) I was super excited to see there was a bar, club, live music joint that Also had all vegan food! We had soooo many things we wanted to try, but apparently they shorten their menu on Tuesdays, so we had to take what we could get. In the photos you'll see everything we ordered.... My confusion is how this place is so overpriced.... I'm not sure how an appetizer, a sandwich, Mac and cheese, one taco, and a couple drinks added up to over $100. We literally just went to an upscale restaurant in Portland and the ill was only about $20 dollars more for substantially more food. Additionally, the food was not great. Mac & cheese was lacking in flavor, the Elote had almost no sauce on it... completely dry, the chips were burnt, and I took one bite of the sandwich and gave the rest away. I would get the taco again, but that's all. However, HOWEVER! I will say our service good, we did have to keep getting up to ask for things, but I guess this is just more of a bar vibe. But everyone was kind and responsive. And the ambiance of this place cannot be matched. It is GORGEOUS! Every inch. So, I'd just skip the food and come here for some drinks and a relaxing night. Then, I think it'd be perfect.

Not safe for women! DO NOT GO HERE. I was roofied, grabbed, stolen from (twice) and have been verbally threatened all during different experiences there. I had a bouncer/security make me pay him a bunch of money I didn't owe him when I was roofied at their bar and nobody stopped him. Two of my friends, and myself have all separately been roofied there and it seems they have done nothing to help this issue. They make you leave your drink outside of the bathroom which is just asking for something bad to happen. I also emailed them after being roofied to let them know and the responses were off... It used to be my favorite bar, but the past 6 months its become a pretty unsafe place to go out at.

Not a bad spot overall but has some issues. Drinks are alright and are priced as expected for a downtown bar. Line isn't too bad if you show up before 10:30-11:00, after that it can get pretty rough (long wait times, bouncers letting people who don't wait in line through for extra money $$$, usual stuff). Once you're inside, you'll be greeted by a cool looking atmosphere in the front area. The back however can be a bit of a madhouse. The place is popular and has good DJ's, so the dance floor and bar area can get CROWDED. To the point where it is very difficult to respect other's personal space and get where you want to go (The long line later at night is probably an attempt to negate this). The main thing that really knocked this place down a few pegs for me was sound. As mentioned above, the DJ's are good and play a good selection of tracks that people enjoy. But the system is cranked up waaaaay too much, to the point where the sound does not sound balanced or very good. The high end of the speakers will legitimately cause pain in your ears; myself and several friends had pretty bad ringing for several hours after leaving. Main recommendation here would be to invest in bigger/better speakers or turn down those trim knobs a bit. Outside of this would be a 4 star experience, if you're into their vibe.

Recently discovered this place & was craving a chick'n sandwich as I always prefer a vegan chick'n sandwich over a burger. Reading the description for the Nashville chick'n sandwich sounded delicious! "Dos hermanos brioche bun, chicken fried oyster mushroom, Nashville glaze, angel hair purple cabbage slaw & spicy mayo with kosher pickles" Now I hate mushrooms. Since I was a child. The texture. The fact that it's a fungus. Bleh! I would pick it out of any dish I have. You'd have to hide it or minic it up good for me to not detect it. Haha. No joke! So I felt a bit brave to go for it. I was not disappointed. I think I forgot to chew when I ate that sandwich. definitely will be coming back again to try out more of Plant-based Papi menu!

This place is very cute and I love that their menu is all vegan! It definitely hits the spot if you're craving this kind of food. I will say for my negatives is that the drinks and food are pretty pricey but also that's standard these days and they are offering something special by being vegan. The other negative I have is that it's very dark inside and that is a little funny if you're drying to have dinner with people. The bar is more appropriately lit I will say. Last year I went here and had the best sandwich of my life it was a Nashville hot sandwich with a fried portobello mushroom. I was excited to have it again but it turns out their menu was revised slightly but now I know to check the menu for seasonal changes/revisions in the future. Overall a really nice place and beautiful interior with yummy food. I would say it could use more staff for sure. I've heard the weekends are more lovely and exciting there.

I took my partner here for his birthday dinner ! He is vegan and this place went above and beyond our expectations. The food is absolutely incredible. The Mac n cheese trio is delicious! We also had the chickun sandwich and Burger! The service was excellent and everyone behind the bar was so attentive to our needs! We were so pleased with our experience here. We are from Seattle and Portland really exceeded our expectations with this establishment. Better than any vegan restaurant I've been to in Seattle. The cocktails were also incredibly delicious and I left this restaurant feeling extremely happy to have spent my money here. Too many people, not enough staff. Not a safe place for women. Don't risk it. Went out with a group of ladies, and all walked away with bad experiences, groping, and harassment. Staff was not responsive to requests for help, and the bar does not have enough people to manage the crowds they allow in. I personally was touched multiple times without invitation or consent, even after clearly voicing "I do not want to be touched by you." Gave up and went home. They also don't have cups for the water station. ‍

Portland has literally become like a ghost town. It hurts my heart to see this beautiful city this way. On that note, if you're ever in the area please visit Fortune. The atmosphere is super sexy and the food delicious. Try the Mac and cheese and their craft beers. A lot of the places close early but this a great spot for after 9pm.

We have love visiting Fortune in the past. However, the recent experience did not exceed the standard of Fortune. We booked a VIP table and came in around 10:30pm to enjoy the music together. The staff were extremely rude when we first came in. No one showed us to the table nor check in with us. We didn't mind it until 1 hr 30 mins later, our group were forced to leave the premises. We were extremely confused by the staff action and rude demeanor. We asked them what was the reason but they failed to provide a specific reason. Also, one of our friend was yelled at by the bouncer "you need to calm down" when we asked where are other friends were. With the amount we paid, we expected VIP service by staff and the hostess. We gave them another chance by messaging the hostess but we didn't receive a proper apology. DO BETTER FORTUNE. Extremely disappointed by the recent experience! Spend your money somewhere else.

This place is a joke. Went there around 10:30 on a Friday night 05/12 to be exact. Place was no where near capacity. Maybe a 1/4 filled. Security had us wait in line for no reason at all, but if you slid him $50 he'd let you in.. The music was horrible. Sounds like a knock off of I'm a Barbie girl nightmare. Waited for 20 min and decided to roll around the corner to Tear drop and was not disappointed there.

Stopped by after work and the decor on the inside is great. The lobby of the hotel is extremely nice as well. I got the rum runner and another drink (forgot the name) but both were good! Plant based papi's food is excellent as well. I couldn't even tell the burger was not real meat. The DJ was also playing really good music too. A mix of throwbacks and recents. Good bar to check out if you are in downtown.

We'd eaten here several times before when Plant-Based Papi was in charge of the food, and it was absolutely amazing. This time it was anything but. This is one of the worst meals we've ever had in Portland. We ordered two burgers, a salad, and mozzarella sticks. Sadly, our food was bland and cold. The buns were stale and the burgers flavorless and unseasoned. The croutons on the Caesar salad were the size of ping pong balls while the lemons that garnished the salad were cut so paper-thin that you couldn't even squeeze them. The fries were at the other end of the spectrum from the rest of the meal. They were so salty that they were inedible, and I have high salt tolerance. Everything was so bad. The server just threw our plates down on the other side of the table from where we sitting without a word. We couldn't even reach the plates and had to get up and walk to the other side of the table to pick up our food. He only provided one set of utensils and one napkin. The bartenders were also very standoffish and cold. They had a jazz band in on the one of the two nights they don't have a DJ spinning house music. We checked the schedule before we left to make sure they didn't have music (it was a Wednesday night) because we Just wanted a quiet meal. Instead, we got loud, bad schmucks who don't know Coltrane from a whole in the wall.

An amazing vegan restaurant. My dinner partner and I both had the Bakon Jam and Gruyère burger (with onion rings inside!) and fries. Super tasty. We also ordered the "pork" rinds which have the same airy/crunchy texture as the meat-based variety, sprinkled with chili powder and served with lime wedges and hot sauce. Not 5 stars because the dining area was very cold (we ate with jackets zipped up) and they said the huge fireplace wasn't working. Also, the server/bartender was initially almost surly, but admittedly did mellow out (and actually smiled once) by the time we left.

Where do I start? Garbage from start to finish: 10 people left but you could only enter with a $10 cover? No wonder they're worth 3 stars with their garbage service and dead ass clientele. Definitely never coming to this useless establishment.

I came her for food after my wedding ceremony last night. I came in with my service dog and quickly after the bouncer checked my ID was approached by another person saying no dogs are allowed once I walked in. I said is not a pet dog by a service dog, and made sure I had his vest on to advertise this as well. Not required but makes it easier and reduces the amount of people who pet him inside. Told them they can't kick me out and please call the police about my service dog. Was told it was ok after they checked in but was refused service for food by being ignored at the bar for me and my partner. Was the first and the last time I will go. It was disgusting how we got treated because of my disability for needing a service animal. Would give 0 stars but not possible

Didn't realize it was a bar/nightclub feel. Searched for vegan restaurants and it popped up. I saw it had a bar but thought it was more restaurant bar vibe rather than bar/club. Needless to say, we loved the food, drinks and had fun people watching lol. Next time we will come sooner for a more mellow crowd and if we ever feel young and like going out, would definitely recommend. Was a mix of 20's - 50's.

Phenomenal bar in Portland. Went here for NYE and everything was amazing from the service, hospitality, cleanliness, and vibe. The DJ played great music and the drinks were great! I really appreciated the fast service when waiting to order drinks as well. I am so happy I bought a ticket for the NYE Event they had planned and I always recommend this bar to everyone I know. They made NYE 2023 one to remember for sure!

1 star for the organization. Tried to order by phone but no one answers the phone at 6pm. Tried to order for pickup on grubhub and it says restaurant is closed and orders won't be ready until 830pm. So I walk down to the restaurant and it's open. I walk in and order a beer and food Togo. Waited about 25 min for my food only to realize it was sitting in a brown bag at the other end of the bar and the bartender realizes it's my food and brings it over. Food was ok but wouldn't waste my time there again unless I was eating my food there.

I love fortune for a night out, but most of the times I've been there for dine-in (6 or so separate occasions) they have had a limited menu. Meaning most of the items on the menu for food were not available. I think it would be best if they had a specific menu every night that featured only what they had. Because the times when I have gone up to order, my party and I already knew what we wanted but then we were told about the limited menu. If this is due to the nationwide shortages of ingredients, please disregard this semi-negative review. The food I have had there is delicious though! Especially the tacos! Love the vibe of fortune overall, just a shame alllll the delicious food isn't available every night.

The drinks here are pretty good! The music is also good to dance to. They have tables, couches and a photo booth. They do require vaccine proof, but an image works. To order drinks does take a bit, the bartenders are busy, but they are friendly. The food appears to be all vegan. I ordered the fried calamari mushroom and it was way too salty, but the Moscow mule was delicious.

We were very surprised to be frisked before we could enter. I'm over 70 and my wife is younger, so did we look dangerous? Also asked for photo ID, must have erred with OLCC. But frisked? We ended up not staying and won't be back.

We were driving from Seattle to San Jose and stopped by the restaurant on the way. We ordered two appetizers - the nachos and the fries as well as a drink. The queso for the nachos was heavenly and the fries were very good as well. Would definitely come here if we ever do the drive again.

The decor and vibe was great! Friendly staff and good drinks. The food was not great. We got the street tacos and while they had good flavor they were extremely spicy making the whole experience miserable. My partner got the double double which was lacking in flavor and extremely messy. Overall, would recommend other vegan places nearby before returning.

Went for pre dinner drinks to check out the bar because we will be having our wedding at the Sentinel hotel in September and we wanted to check out the bar scene for post reception party options for our guests. We sat at the bar and the menus were dirty and stuck together. Not sure why you would have menus that you can't easily wipe down and keep clean, especially during cold and flu season. Service wasn't great especially since there were not a lot of people at the bar at 5:30. One of the bartenders was helping guests next to us who at arrived at the same time. The other bartender saw that we were there, and basically just stood there without acknowledging us. She then spent time on her phone before coming over to take our order. The overall vibe was pretty pretentious and for people working in hospitality, the bartenders just were not friendly. Usually you walk into a bar and people smile and greet you and this was not our experience. The drinks were good but nothing special for $13. Not sure we will be recommending our guests spend time at this bar after our wedding unless service improves.

Came here with my fiancé for a pre-dinner drink. Three people working behind the bar: one was probably a bar back but two were bartenders. Only maybe 6 other people at the bar. We sat at the bar for probably 5 or 10 minutes and no one acknowledged us. I understand that the bartenders were making very good and elaborate drinks, but don't take yourself so seriously -- it's not hard to say hello, acknowledge someone, and move on. We left before we could have a drink so I can't comment on the drinks. They looked good.

Honestly wish I could give 0 stars. It was the night of my 21st birthday, I was out with my mother and her friends (who are late 30's and early 40's) + a group of my 21 year old friends. It was 12:30 and I am legally 21. For some reason this specific club doesn't allow people who turn 21 the night of, it has to be a full 24 hours. My mom had money ready, even handed it to the bouncer. While holding the money, the bouncer asked his manager if he could let us in by text. And of course, the manager said no. Great start to a birthday BTW. I was so over waiting outside in the cold for 10 min. I snatched the money out his hands and said "you just lost a whole lot of business, never coming here again". Felt like the scene from "Pretty Woman" to be honest. Ended up going across the street to FUSE and they let my whole group in for FREE. P.S. Idk if the bouncer saw, but the bouncer at Fuse and I flipped Fortune off

The cover charge goes up every hour, know that before you get in line to wait. We waited for a half hour (which granted, doesn't seem to be that long for this place) but the bouncer let 6 of his friends in ahead of us and wanted a $20 cover charge to get in after midnight (which we would've been in before if he hadn't let his friends in.) Then tried to make me feel a jerk for pointing out he let his friends in. Wish I had known this would happen before waiting in line.
