A new chapter in Singapore's love story with tea - SilverKris

"An artisanal chocolatier that collaborated with a local tea brand to create tea-infused chocolates and pairing workshops. The resulting packaged products—sold through various cafés—feature bold, tea-driven flavour profiles, such as a dark milk chocolate made with a distinctive Dancong cultivar and an intensely floral black-tea variety; the items are attractively packaged and recommended as souvenirs." - Gwen Pew

Opinion: Balancing quality and affordability to create chocolate everyone can enjoy - SilverKris

"An artisanal chocolate maker that helped introduce craft, single-origin chocolate to Singapore through retail pop-ups, workshops and tastings, producing six single-origin bars and around 14 artisan flavours made entirely in-house with no substitutions, artificial flavourings or preservatives. Their bestselling local-inspired bars—such as Nanyang kaya and salted egg cereal—showcase a playful, experimental approach to familiar tastes, while price points (S$8 for a single-origin bar and S$10 for a special artisan bar) were initially challenging until consumers learned to value the provenance and care behind each product. The business prioritizes Southeast Asian cacao (Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia) while importing some beans from Africa and South America, and works closely with small growers to improve fermentation and processing for more consistent, distinctive flavour profiles. Beyond retail, they aim to broaden public understanding of cacao’s culinary potential—suggesting uses such as cacao distillates for cocoa “gin,” nibs as garnishes or in cocoa tea, and ground cacao in savoury dishes like Mexican mole—while trying to balance quality craftsmanship with affordability." - Lydia Vasko

Hanoi's new house of chocolate - SilverKris

"Founded by Jay Chua after discovering the potential of Madagascan beans, this Singaporean chocolatier produces bars that blend high-quality single-origin cacao with distinctly local flavors such as salted egg." - Tom Stuart

Very flavourful chocolate that rivals even Royce chocolate. The mala taste like mala and weird I like hae bee hiam flavor as it give the shrimp taste Rum flavor has a strong alcohol Hokkaido milk taste normal but also good Unfortunately, the portion is too smal and expensive compared to store bought chocolate and even Royce chocolate. so I'm unsure I will be be buying it often Overall, very good!

We were very happy with Fossa Chocolate as our wedding favors. They offer truly unique flavors and tasted fantastic—perfectly balanced and not too sweet. A special thank you to Yilina, who was super helpful in guiding us. A key part of the process was visiting their office; it was well worth the time to sample all the different chocolate flavors and confidently select the best option for our wedding guests. We chose the Coffee Jasmine (Yuen Yang) flavor, and it was a hit! The design was nicely executed with a custom picture of us and our furkids, providing an elegant and personal touch for our special day. Thanks Yilina and Fossa Chocolate!

Wanted to try Fossa for the longest time. Finally did it and am totally blown away by their chocolates!! The chocolates taste close to their descriptions and the quality is superb. I love that Fossa includes blurbs about the cacao's origins and flavour profiles. Really makes you appreciate the chocolate a whole lot more. It's perfect down to the packaging. Simply impressive - so glad to have found a Singaporean craft chocolate maker. Will continue to support!!

Decided to go with Fossa’s Chocolate Truffle Making & Appreciation workshop for our dear friend’s hen’s party! We had such a pleasant experience, which went beyond our expectations. Jay was kind in allowing us to put up decorations & accommodated to our timing, as our friends had some difficulties finding the place initially. We appreciated his clarity in instructions for the truffle making, and gained knowledge about cocoa/the chocolate making process through Jay’s sharing (things we would have never known!). We also enjoyed tasting the various chocolates & and wonderful sake pairings. The bride-to-be was really happy. :) Thank you Jay for facilitating this workshop for us! Would highly recommend!

Tried the Fossa chocolates (tea series) in 2020 and have enjoyed trying the various flavours ever since! Have been sending them to friends overseas coz of the creative flavours and the friends like the chocolates too! Went to their recent factory launch and it’s an eye opening experience seeing the bean to bar process. There were booths for us to try various flavours and activities which make use of the husk. Drew something for a friend and have another 2 bars as a birthday present. Not sure if the drawing will be appreciated, but the chocs will most definitely be enjoyed! 🤭
