Foster & Dobbs Authentic Foods

In Portland on business for the first time, and want to experience all the many great, sights, places & tastes I've heard about in just the short time I have --I stopped in F & D today to find some interesting cheese to accompany a few Willamette Valley wines I picked up. My expectations were far exceeded not only by the tempting & diverse offerings, but also by the knowledge, warmth and kindness of the staff. Mat went above & beyond to provide "insider" tips, and recommendations for restaurants & places to see. You made this slightly road-weary traveler from NY feel very much at home, and saved me from "Google-confusion!" Very much appreciated!

Went here for my first time last week. We sat outside on the patio area and enjoyed the sun, the staff was extremely friendly, to us and our doggy. They have a really extensive Oregon wine list, featuring one of my favorite wineries (Quady North), which is actually a rarity, so it was really impressive.

So disappointed! Their selection was in a soda cooler. When I asked the staff why the Web site showed a selection, after ten minutes of looking in a beer cooler, the young man said they changed after their big show case went down. I am a visiting Alaskan and so upset! I will never waste gas or my time !!! Better shops 1400 miles away. And I will be calling the manager/owner to express my dissatisfaction! !!!!!

Foster and Dobbs was a fun place to visit and the owner is a great person to chat with. It was a hot day and they let us hang out with our puppy and stay cool. The coffee is great!

Seems like a great place but is kind of lacking larger selections. I wouldn't go out of my way to go there but if I'm in the area, it's a nice small gourmet stop and I think there is a deli too.

Great selection, excellent service. They really know their cheese! Great place to find things unavailable at other merchants. Also, right next to the Hop House!

Excellent food and staff, great atmosphere!

Good sandwiches and appetizers plates. Lot's of specialty items that can be pretty spendy. Great for gifts but not everyday shopping.
