"Venture over the bridge and into South Portland, where the dining scene has been growing. At Foulmouthed Brewing you’ll find a variety of excellent beers and tasty pub food that holds its own against anything Portland has to offer. Get it to-go, and take it down to one of the neighborhood’s many great beaches or waterfront parks for a view of the ferries and sailboats that glide into the city from Casco Bay. Foulmouthed is open for takeout and delivery." - Briana Volk

"Foulmouthed has produced close to 100 different beers since its founding in 2016, and on any given day you'll find german lagers, single hop IPAs, and saisons, all executed brilliantly. And in a move that compensates for the somewhat tumultuous nature of the tap list, this is one of the few breweries that also has a full bar and the seasonal cocktails definitely don't feel like an afterthought. Foulmouthed is also a full-on restaurant, which is evident by the plates of poutine and nachos all over." - Noah Kaufman

As we walked in a waiter immediately greeted us and showed us to a table. It was not busy at all. We ordered drinks and they came very quickly. Next we ordered chicken bites with fries, the Korean chicken wrap with a side of ceaser salad, and the wagyu beef burger. I noticed that the waiters were standing around talking and waiting for something to do. After about fifteen minutes the food came. It was delicious! We will be coming back again.

Foulmouthed is one of my favorite breweries in Southern Maine. I’ve been visiting this SoPo brewery over the past few years, and I appreciate their consistency in delivering great pours, excellent service, and the best vibes and atmosphere. First off, the beers are phenomenal! I’ve tried most of their beers, from the IPAs to the barleywines and even some limited-edition ones (like their collab with SoPo Seafood), and I’ve never been disappointed. Their happy hour menu, which they change often, is always a pleasant surprise and saves you a few bucks. I also really enjoy their food. I’ve tried their fries, pretzels, and sandwiches, and it’s always been phenomenal. Honestly, they have a pretty impressive food menu for a brewery. Lastly, the vibe. Foulmouthed feels like a neighborhood brewery, and I love that about it. It’s not rowdy, and it attracts more of a mature crowd and families. In the warmer months, I love sitting outside, by their parking lot, watching the world in South Portland go by. Never change, Foulmouthed.

James was an awesome bartender. Joe is an excellent manager and runs a very personable and professional service group. Amelia and Erin and Sam were all very friendly and provided excellent service to customers. This is a great atmosphere and family friendly brewery/pub. I highly recommend the flight and the BBQ Brisket Sandwich.

This food is fantastic! The brisket nachos were delicious! My son devoured his cheeseburger and the gyro poutine was heavenly! Service was great!

Google
A very well planned out space with delicious food and some hilarious beer names. I was traveling so unable to try the brews, but I'll be back. There was much more seating inside than expected for a small place, and three bathrooms, plus outdoor seating for warmer times. Staff was delightful and the food was excellent. Great menu variety and a dinner that didn't break the bank! I was too hungry to take photos, but I had the Mac and cheese with pulled pork, minus the jalapenos. Delicious. Accessible for disabled folks, and plenty of on street parking as well as a few in-lot spaces (including accessible parking).

We dropped in for a lunch beverage and bite while visiting South Portland. This neighborhood place is cozy and has a good atmosphere. It can fill up quickly and is worth a wait if needed. Great selection of brews and the menu has some flavorful options. Staff was very friendly, service was quick and the overall vibe is good. Drop in for a cold one or quick bite, you won’t be disappointed.

I’m always on the lookout for a place that has both great beer and great food, and Foulmouthed is one - plus the vibes there are super comfortable (and a refreshing change from typical pub type atmosphere). Loved the flight of sauces for the French fries, too!

A surprising and cozy location with a good selection of interesting dishes (the Gyro poutine was something different!). Service was great and friendly. Will be back for more!

Yelp
Just came out and wanted to write a review in the car. We came here back when it first opened and decided to give it another try since it's been several years. I'm glad we did. I had their IPA to go with my Bang Bang Chicken wrap, my wife had the same beer with a Chicken Banh mi sandwich. The food was delicious! For just simple sandwiches they packed a lot of flavor. With a side of fantastic fries to split we left plenty full and happy. I gave the IPA 4 out of 5 stars, there are so many good beers now! Oh and we tried the homemade hot sauce and ended up buying a bottle. So good and the heat keeps coming as you dip your fries into it! South Portland is a nice little village now! It's nice to see this side of town growing into a nice place to visit.

Yelp
This place hit the spot on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Funky place in an old garage, ample seating indoors and out, but on such a beautiful day, I could only eat outside. Server was super flexible when I changed my table mid visit. Food came quickly and was delicious from the first to the last bite. Will definitely come back when I'm back in town.

Kim U.

Yelp
We stopped in on a Saturday and so glad we did! It's not your typical brewery looking place. It kinda looks like a combination diner/brewpub. But that's okay. There's a bar. Tables. Outside seating and a couch n chairs in the back corner. Choose your spot. There's a great selection of beers and cocktails to choose from and what we had for food was very good. Everything that went by looked great too and the place filled as the evening went on. And we hung out. We ordered the brisket nachos Lots of heat, thick tortilla chips, cilantro, jalapeños, tomatoes, onions, queso and lime crema. Very good. We ordered buffalo wings which were really good. Tasted like they were smoked then dry Spiced and fried. Delicious. We tried a variety of beers. Mr Giggle's was a lighter beer with a 10% punch tasty, almost fruity. Pleasant. Then I switched to my love... dark robust beer... This one is called Knightvillain. A German black ale. Served in their signature foul mouth glasses. (They were nice enough to dig out 10 new ones and let us buy them!). Yay! The staff was friendly and worked well together. Would def recommend and would go back.

Yelp
Hey! This place stands out in my mind because of our awesome welcome in. Hostess saw us get out of our Uber and immediately led the way in. Then, and this was the treat that kept on giving, we were introduced to Nichole, our Beer Tender. She was bubbly, had a great attitude and gave us attention. She gave us suggestions as to their beers and what're to grab a bite while in Portland. Nichole was super busy but she always took care of the customers. The beers were also all great. I got the flight and was not disappointed. All great, all tasty and well made. Stop by and say hello to Nichole and everyone there.

Yelp
Another brewery visited and checked off the list. Unfortunately it is likely the first and last time as they have announced they are closing at the end of the month. This announcement pushed us to make sure we came here before it was too late. The beer and food did not disappoint. We were sat right away and the staff were friendly. An overall nice and inviting space and due to being a brewpub family friendly as well. Due to closing soon their beer options will continue to dwindle but if it's available here or at a store/bar try their Yuzu Koshõ Gose. It is arguably their best beer, light and citrusy and tart with just enough heat to balance it out. Food wise I highly recommend their poutine (or their fries as they were incredible in the poutine). My fiancée got their steak bomb and I got their burger of the week (quack attack) that had a turkey burger and duck bacon. Both were phenomenal and would be things we would immediately order again. If you haven't tried this place yet or if you have visited before and it's been awhile do yourself a favor and give them one last visit.

Sleepingtree K.

Yelp
Really, really good beer made by people who know beer. The food is amazing (it's not health food, but it is delicious and creative) and the atmosphere is great. Like a lot of breweries in Maine, it is totally chill to bring your kids of all ages. Staff have always been nice and service is fast.

Jeff C.

Yelp
This is like my home away from home. Friendly faces, excellent food and drinks, especially a great variety of beer. If you are a beer aficionado, you'll find all types to please your pallet. The nachos are delicious and huge. Every type of sandwich outstanding. Excellent fries, etc. They unfortunately have been the victim of negative reviews from vindictive people who have no business making any comments. Don't believe it! This is a wonderful place and you'll have a great time here.

Matthew B.

Yelp
Great food, unique and well-made beers. Killer ambiance for a date night or just relaxing by yourself. Full bar as well in case beer isn't your speed. Absolutely one of my favorite haunts in SoPo.

Katie B.

Yelp
This is a great place owned and operated by kind, caring, wonderful people. The food is great and the beer is better. A wide range of creative beers as well as classics all made in house. The service is always friendly and you can tell everyone cares about the customers. If you're in town visiting or a local looking to try somewhere new, check it out. You won't be dissapointed!

Carla C.

Yelp
Don't let the name fool you. This group of has some of the best people on staff and behind the bar. I always recommend people come here for lunch when they're swinging through town because the beer is as good as the food is unique. They typically have a range of beer styles on on tap which is another reason to go there. It isn't a one-stop shop for one style of beer. They have a lot of styles that you don't find at other places, particularly some German ones as well. I have never once been disappointed in the food, which ranges from bar fare to elevated comfort food. Pro tip: Anything with cheese on it is always freaking delicious. Though parking can be slightly tricky (read the signs) it is well worth a circle around the block to make sure you get in. Great place all around and I highly recommend it as someone who is very versed in the beer scene in Maine. It should be on everyone's list.

Saleen D.

Yelp
We were driving around & stumbled upon this hipster looking brewery. Great vibes! Awesome bartenders, cool selection of beer & specials, & they serve food too. Dog & kid friendly. Get the beer flight & sample their entire selection all while munching on their crispy garlic fries, mmm!

Mercer B.

Yelp
They are great brewers and great people. It's a fun place to go for higher end pub food and great beer. I recommend them unreservedly.

Heather M.

Yelp
Love this place! Good service, food, atmosphere and of course beer. There is a meal or app for everyone's tastes. The beer rotates frequently so there is always something new to try and there is a great variety, something for all palates.

Tim G.

Yelp
Great beer in an ever-changing variety of styles. The brewers do the homework and make some fantastic beers. There's always lovely artwork associated with the beers, either labels on cans and bottles or mini posters that adorn the walls of the brewpub. Modern comfort food on the menu pairs well with the clean Scandinavian style of the restaurant, a far cry from the former auto shop housed in the building. A favorite go-to for locals and visitors alike, top notch.

Jenna J.

Yelp
surprised by this place! i'm not one to finish a plate of food, but it happened here!! our waitress was really helpful and the dining room was fairly small, so it wasn't too loud. plants everywhere!!

Dan C.

Yelp
Great beer, good service, best falafel wrap I've ever had! The outdoor area is just a parking lot but it's in a really pleasant area in Portland. You won't be disappointed!

Corinne A.

Yelp
Good beer, good food, good space. Consistent. Get the brisket nachos. The women's bathroom is VERY small, so if you're a big beautiful woman, it is tight.

Kristina I.

Yelp
Mr Giggles was amazing and hit me hard due to its 10% alcohol content. The nachos were amazing.

Jules F.

Yelp
Loved it here. Vegan food! With FLAVOR! Delicious beers, and they have a full bar. It's amazing. Our waitress was the most patient and wonderful person. It's small and there is essentially no parking- but the food and drink make it worth it. A hidden gem. Get the cilantro aioli!

Kerry H.

Yelp
Great little corner bar tucked in Knightville. Savory menu with a couple vegetarian options as well. Be sure to order the General Tso's cauliflower and garlic fries with dipping aioli, tWo staples surely won't disappoint.

Jill F.

Yelp
Do you want a kicka$$ IPA? They have it. Other styles of beer that knock it out of the park? Yes- Sir Squirrel brown ale is a personal favorite. Not to mention seriously amazing fries, creative pub food, and inventive cocktails for those that aren't into the brews. All the natural wood finishes add a cozy ambiance, and I've always had great service either dining in or just grabbing a few drinks. Come here and feel great about supporting a small local business with owners that pour their hearts and souls into their craft and community.

Eric P.

Yelp
Great food, service and beer. The atmosphere is quaint. The owners and workers are appreciated.

Michael F.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely place run by lovely people. The beer is always excellent, the fries are the best in town, and the people who run it care deeply about their community.

Kim P.

Yelp
Great food, great staff, lovely interior and atmosphere, highly recommended. We had our staff lunch there over the holidays and it was fantastic. The owners are friendly and welcoming. The prices are very reasonable. It is a great spot for lunch or dinner.

Sophie R.

Yelp
Great rotating selection of delicious beer brewed in house and the food is really top notch delicious! As a veg/plant based eater, I'm a huge fan of the blackbean burger nachos, falafel wrap, jalapeno and garlic fries and pub pretzel! The staff is super friendly, the owners are awesome folks and the vibe is warm and comfortable! Its my go to spot for a tasty bite and catching up with friends!

Kelly C.

Yelp
One of our favorite places in the area to meet up with friends or just hang out and play cards. The food is great--excellent French fries and Nachos. And a terrific beer menu full of interesting options, the Yuzu Gose is my favorite but there's always something new to try. Service is always super friendly and helpful. We love Foulmouthed and are so glad to have them in our neighborhood!

Jenni W.

Yelp
After reading recommendations of calling ahead to ensure that there would be available tables for my friends and me, we were able to snag a table at 6:45 pm on a Saturday evening. Foulmouthed Brewing does a good job in keeping everyone safe--outdoor patio seating available with the tables seated six feet apart. We ordered some drinks (beers and cocktails) as well as some fries and wings as appetizers. The fries went very well with the garlic aioli and were the perfect amount of crispiness. For my entree, I ordered two corn dogs, which were also delicious. The crispy batter paired well with the hot dog meat. My cocktail was also really delicious. The wings however, were a little bland and lacking sauce/flavor. Service overall was pretty good, nothing to complain. But I think overall the menu priced things a little more expensive than they needed to be. My friend's burger was only average and so was the fillet o fish that another friend ordered. Not sure if I would recommend coming back for the food other than the fries and corndog. The cauliflower fried in buffalo sauce is something that I might try next time. If you want to come here for the drinks/beer and/or appetizers, this might be the place for you! I would love to visit here after COVID-19 is over since it seems like a nice place to drink.

Charlie M.

Yelp
Cute local spot, lovely service, good drinks and decent food. The vibes are off though- could benefit from louder music and tv's. Such a miss to not have sports games on at a brewery

Chrysanthi L.

Yelp
Parking in the Foulmouthed lot is limited, but we went here on a weekend so we were able to park in the office lot across the street. Foulmouthed has beer, wine, and liquor which is a huge plus when picking a place to hang out with friends who don't love beer. Staff was friendly and service was good. Better yet, they had some great food options as well. My partner and I got the pretzel (yes, it is bigger than your head!) and the nachos. The pretzel and beer cheese were FANTASTIC- dare I say, the best in Portland. I was a bit disappointed in the beer selection, which is why I'm going with a 4/5 for my rating.

Tami W.

Yelp
Definitely worth a visit if you're in the South Portland area. My husband I had time to kill before heading the airport so we decided to check out Foulmouthed - and we were so glad we did! The beer is good and so is the food and service. We tried the fries with the flight of sauces and the bang bang chicken wrap - both were yummy. My husband enjoyed the IPA.

Chelle P.

Yelp
We were in South Portland yesterday and stopped at Foulmouthed Brewery at the suggestion of a friend. We absolutely LOVED this place! We both had ales on the lighter side which were really good, but were offered tastes of various beers to find the one we wanted! The food fare is mostly pub, but truly the most AMAZING sandwiches we have ever eaten...in all sincerity! My husband had their meatloaf sandwich that was unlike anything he had ever tasted, and I had the Caprese with the marinated chicken added. Unbelievable! It pared very well with my light ale beer. The staff was super friendly and very attentive. The atmosphere was very clean and bright and innovative for a brewery, with good seating as well as a bar. You could easily drive on by as it is located in a more residential neighborhood in an old garage...but the looks are deceiving! In the outside parking lot there were tables with umbrellas so you could eat and drink outside. If you are in the Portland, Maine area, you do NOT want to miss Foulmouthed Brewery!

Rachel L.

Yelp
Fabulous. Beer is worth the wait. Food takes it over the top. Service deals it. Garlic fries are 100% legit! Nachos excellent! All the employees are top notch! So happy we stumbled across Foulmouthed Brewing!

Leah W.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE. Most breweries have great beer, no other drink options, and v little mediocre bites. This place has their own delicious brews, several cocktails that are pretty awesome, and GREAT food options. Servers are pretty casual but very nice and I've found the prices to be reasonable given that they are just over the bridge. An organization that I worked with has thrown a couple of small events here and had great success. There is never any problem splitting a check or getting another round!

Ariana J.

Yelp
We had the best time at this bar in Portland. I wish there were more like it there! I loved the gin city drink and my husband loved his flight. Their hot sauce is also amazing. All around good vibes and Tyler was the sweetest!

Jaime E.

Yelp
Loved this place! So much good food and so little room in my tummy!! These are my favorite fries (get the poutine!) Also delicious was the Fish Filet (everyone at the table raved about it. The waitress said they once took it off the menu and crowds revolted!!) And if they have General Tsaos Cauliflower, GET IT! It's stupid-good! For drinks we did the flight of 8. Lucky we don't live closer. I'd be in trouble!!

Ryan V.

Yelp
A great little brewery in South Portland. The beer was excellent and reasonably priced. We had the pretzel and really enjoyed it. That said, the nachos that went by looked awesome. The service was great and enjoyed their outside seating area. Overall, great experience.

Carrington T.

Yelp
This place has the BEST fries in Maine. It is worth it just to stop by for at least a order of garlic fries & dipping sauce. They use local Maine potatoes and make sure the fries are crispy outside. They also let you mix and match packs of beer so we ordered a big assortment. All the beers were great. The black ale was my favorite. It was delicious and toasty, without being heavy. We stopped by during off season so they were only doing to go. We walked up to the building, but you can also order on the website for pick up. The staff member was really nice and answered all our questions about the different brews. I will definitely stop by again next time I visit Maine.

Rodney M.

Yelp
What a great spot. Awesome beer selection and you have to try the vegan hotdog. It is spiritual. Crazy good. Poutine fries rock. Great atmosphere. Worth the trip to So Po. The staff are awesome and love to chat. They are top notch. All the food coming across the line looked awesome. Presentation 100%.

Mel M.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to snag a seat on their patio the day before their last day having seats! The staff was amazing. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Great atmosphere and good beer selection! Would definitely recommend this place!

Morgan F.

Yelp
Super chill brewery in South Portland with great beer! The guys working were really friendly and knew a lot about the brewery that they were happy to share. Because of COVID they had tables set up outside in the parking lot. I really enjoyed the sour raspberry beer. It was a very subtle sour beer. We brought back some IPAs for my uncle who really liked those as well because they were filtered.

Ivy S.

Yelp
More of a restaurant than a brewery at lunchtime. I enjoyed the burger but the falafel burger was very very dry. Perhaps it is because I had asked for the que so on the side but the falafel itself was so dense almost impossible to eat. The beer flight was fun but I found only one I really liked. What I really enjoyed was the inventive cocktails. Personally I like going to restaurants rand being challenged by something new. If I've already had it before or can make it myself I'd just do that! But these cocktails are fun and unique and definitely worth the trip if you're not a beer person.

Phil C.

Yelp
Love this place Kids are happy in the kid corner eating corn dogs Pretzels :) Salads :) DIPA :) :) Location easy from the south and not over crowded

Crys S.

Yelp
On a whim, on a Sunday evening, I invited my dad out for a drink. My parents had babysit for us the night before and my mom doesn't drink, so I took out my dad. I had never been here before, but had it bookmarked. I didn't realize it was a brewery that served food. I had assumed it was a restaurant that served beer from a local Brewery. The result is a very limited menu, in general tasty though a tad expensive for simple things like french fries for $5. My dad and I decided to share an order of Irish curry french fries and an order of poutine. I also got myself a basic corn dog with melted mustard since this was actually my dinner. Dad and I agreed the poutine was very tasty and I had to tell him but I found the Irish curry on point. I spent 10 years living in New York City and only recently moved back with my family. I lived on Irish curry in Queens New York. You can get it on almost anything there and Curry fries were one of my favorite things! The corn dog, while basic, was I admit tasty. The multitude mustard tasted like ordinary French's yellow mustard to me, but that's not a bad thing necessarily. The hot dog itself was tasty on its own so what you dress it with is purely to taste. We decided to each get what they call a flight of beers. A tray containing 6 glasses, each roughly 4 oz in size, which cost $10. If you like having a reasonable size of everything offered instead of a lot of the one thing you really like, the flight is the way to go. I'm very picky about beer and I found five out of six quite tasty. It is a good quantity of quality samples. Since they are a brewery first, they do offer Growlers and have specials on the truck boards. I was happy for the experience and getting to hang out somewhere nice with my dad, my dad was happy to know that the food there was quality. I brought home the General Tso's chicken sandwich for my husband who stayed home with the kids. Apart from it not tasting anything like General Tso's chicken to him, and he would know since it's his favorite Chinese dish, he did find it palatable and tasty. The we both found it so much strange it did not come with anything. No chips or french fries. So the price on the menu is exclusively for the sandwich. The waitress was also able to clarify that the orders of french fries universally come in one size despite the price difference and sum being listed under small plates. All said and done, I would certainly come back for a drink or a snack.

Yelp
Can I just take a few seconds of your time to tell you just how freakin delightful this place, meal, atmosphere REALLY is?!!!!! Ok, since I became vegan this year I am always trying to find a gem in each restaurant that I go to... so I decided upon the awesomeness of the Falafel burger w/garlic fries coupled with garlic sauce....wait...hang on that last phrase for just a second...ok....I had to pause because the fries and the dipping sauce were just that damn good!!!! I also encountered one of the best falafels ever!!!! And I've eaten plenty over these last few months. The restaurant itself is very trendy, clean, and cute. Plenty of tap choices, games you can play during dinner, an arcade game for those who can't take a break from gaming....and then most importantly an awesome group of people who make you feel totally and completely welcomed. In my opinion nothing beats stellar customer service. In a nutshell I was wowed by Foulmouthed and plan to visit more often! My grandson also made a new friend too! :)

Gabrielle D.

Yelp
This was my second time at Foulmouthed. It was very busy when we arrived but no wait. I highly suggest the garlic fries with burger sauce. Interesting, unique beers. In fact I wanted to try them all. Always a varying selection of drafts from season to season which I appreciate. Always something new to try. The food is pricey, but worth it. Good atmosphere, although it was it loud. Overall a great experience and will be going back.

Rick F.

Yelp
Foulmouthed Brewery is our kind of place. Excellent eatery with exceptional beer. Try the ripple pale ale or the vanilla stout or just be smarter than me and try the 6 beer sampler for 10 bucks. My wife had the pomegrante mojito whch was a delightful mix of lime and mint leaf. Natural flavor of the mint leaves burst out of the gpass with each sip. The poutine was light with tasty cheese curds and thick bacon cuts that complemented each other nicely. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a fine vanilla stout as counterpoint to a delicious, lightly flavored shredded porrk topped with cole slaw, red onion thin sliced, amd parsley.. the toasted roll was a nice touch. I have never had finer. She had the fish sandwich amd she raved about it. she shared a bite with me and I was floored by the tasty perfection. Lightly battered fresh fish weaved in light batter. The fries were served with a hamburger sauce that was out of this world. Light and crispy with no grease...delicious. we may have found our favorite brew pub in South Portland Maine. What a #$%&ing brilliant idea.

Jess B.

Yelp
Just came in for some beer and the selection was great. Tons of toys for the little one to play with which was super cool. Their food menu was very small but it is a brewing company so if you drink enough I guess it won't matter what you get to eat. The bathrooms are tiny and I didn't see a baby changing station, so that's strange. They had high chairs and toys by no where to change a diaper. My beer was great and the glass was pretty looking. I'd definitely come here again and try the fries.

Alina D.

Yelp
What do you get when you put a cute-as-hell brewery spot in Mill Creek with amazing craft cocktails, bomb food and the best fries you'll ever have?? You get Foulmouthed. While I can't speak for the beer (because I can't have that thing called gluten), I can say that this is our favorite neighborhood spot. And you are sorely missing out if you haven't been here. Please get the fries. You will thank yourself and the stars above. Seriously. Oh, and they are super kid friendly. It's my soon to be 7-year old's favorite place. That's a win in my book!
