The concept is good but the experience is poor and frustrating. The no contact 24/7 service chat is convenient, but it took us beyond midday to move rooms because we waited on a verification code to get into our new room. If Sonder could open the new room for us to move and sort out the remote IT issues in their own time it would have been a better experience. Reason for moving rooms was the shower tap was leaking and dripping loudly all night, an understandable maintenance issue that they can sort out but not that it takes half a day to change rooms. The remote verifications were pretty glitch. The aircon in our first room was also horrendously noisy. The room was very pokey and almost no space to move, we stayed in a queen unit for 12 days, before being moved after the leaking shower incident. The next room was much more spacious and comfortable although with winter temperatures the aircon could not cope with keeping the room warm. There are almost zero facilities in this hotel, feeling more hostel like than hotel. I would not recommend if you need to spend more than 2/3 nights. 16 for us felt near unbearable but our booking was non refundable. The lobby has a coffee machine which was removed due to being out of order for half our stay. We got instant coco/coffee from the nearby Target as the lobby also has a kettle... only to find dirt and debris in the kettle. There is no wash up or sink to rinse these appliances and a sign warning guest not to empty water into the tray of the water dispenser. The minimal facilities are just not great for longer stays. The building code and room code are the same so if anyone catches you putting in your building code when entering from the street, then they have your room code as well. There's no laundry service and the city of chicago only has dry cleaners not laundromats so you need to take a train out the city to do laundry. This is a crucial facility if you going to stay a few days. The wifi is good and the room was clean. Other than that, I cannot recommend this hotel for stays longer than 2/3 nights. I moved across to their new hotel, Onterie... now my 17th night... for more facilities and hoping for a more convenient stay. It has in bedroom laundry, kitchen etc Hope this helps others make an informed decision on their stay.

It's a budget choice for sure, but was not worth it. Thumping, LOUD bass until 2am from the bar/club on the first floor. My bed made the most obnoxiously loud creaking and squealing anytime I moved. I contacted customer service and they were basically like "that sucks" and would not give me a different room. I ended up pulling the mattress onto the floor (noted that the bed frame was just a piece of plywood on top of a box) so I could actually sleep. Would never stay at a Sonder again.

Do not stay here unless you understand what you're getting into. The fact this is more of a hostel than a hotel was disappointing, but ultimately ok as the room was sparse but clean, and the basic amenities were acceptable and functional. The big issue is the extremely loud music coming from the bar and club downstairs. Dance music played continuously from ~10pm until after 2am, with pulsating and driving bass and beats permeating through our whole room. And on Saturday night, the music was its loudest, actually shaking our room. Sonder customer service was very responsive and I appreciated their sympathy, but they also initially tried passing this off as ambient city noise. I live in a city; this is not the sound of traffic, the occasional siren, or a group of people passing by. This is not something that can be masked by a white noise machine or earplugs. This is a real problem. Sonder needs to be honest about this situation and forthcoming with potential guests. Hiding this in fine print is a mistake. Until they show accountability and acknowledge this shortcoming to guests, I imagine they'll continue to have more reviews like this one and a decrease in business.

Got what I paid for. The app — the main tech you use — is oddly non-futuristic. I got a very different vibe compared to the tech-forward shtick they’re using to differentiate themselves from other hotels. Instead, the app felt strikingly behind since it lacked any integration with Apple or Google Wallet which would allow for rapid key use and be perfect with the door’s security technology. It felt clunky going to an unfamiliar app and clicking through each tab looking for which one had the “key button” on it. Would’ve been the same level of security. Not sure if they gave up there or what happened, but they really missed the mark there. The tech has been out for years

I booked them for a 3 day trip through Airbnb. It was easy! Found it, liked it, purchase made. After confirming my purchase, I was contacted by Sonder to confirm through their website. I didn’t mind it because sometimes information isn’t confirmed when booking through third party sites. After confirming, they suggested I download their app and it’s one of the reasons I’m giving them 5 stars. They had EVERYTHING you needed in there. Building and room access codes, a button to connect you to the internet, info on luggage storage and water refilling, a floor for restocking on essentials (towels, toiletries, etc.), requesting a ride to the property, and places in the area for shopping, food, and more. One of the best places we went to was suggested on the app, check out Seoul Taco in Chicago. The location was PERFECT! I’ve heard downtown Chicago is walkable, the property location put us within a 8 - 20 minute within all the places we wanted to go. We don’t mind walking, if you do then a 10 minute car ride or around the same time on public transport. It was in a safe area, no worries about who would be near the property after hours. The staff were quick with our requests, the heating and A&C worked, pillows and bed were clean and soft, and the water pressure was great. If you’re traveling in a small group (less than 4 people) and don’t mind some small space, this is the perfect spot!!

I felt scammed being here. The pictures are oddly very misleading and honest. Everything you see in the picture was there. A bed, head board, the exact same night stands. My room had one window unlike the two I saw in the picture which really weren't necessary because they looked at another window. When I say that, I don't mean it's located next to a narrow ally but instead, it's 4 walls (all from the "hotel") that open up to the sky. This is nice if you hate sunlight and want to sleep in. Also don't stay out too late because they lock the external door after a period of time. I had the issue where the code they gave me to get into the building didn't work on that external door so I had to call to get a new one. That was me outside, on hold, for 20 min as I waited to be given a new code. If you need a place to stay and are tight, it'll work but I'd have to be pretty down to knowingly stay at one of sonders locations again. Walls are very thin.

Some of these comments and photos are tearing this place to shreds, where in reality it wasn’t a bad experience. My only real complaints are the bed sheets felt really cheap and stiff/itchy, and there was no mini fridge (which was known before we arrived), but also no ice machine on the property. It is a VERY basic hotel in a great location. Definitely is more geared toward style over substance. Looking back, I probably would have paid a little more to stay somewhere else.

After reading the reviews I see I didn’t miss out on much. I wouldn’t want to stay under judgmental people and a terrible company like this anyways. So thanks for doing me a favor and saving further money I won’t need to waste on this company. This was the worst experience I could possibly ever encounter. Customer service was completely and utterly USELESS. Sonder is giving scammer and profiling vibes. They canceled multiple people’s reservations the night of RANDOMLY. The most I could feel is that I wasn’t alone in the BS but it is sad and disgusting that the only type of people that had to leave for “violations” before even checking in were Hispanic and African American?? Also a trend of them kicking out younger people. They never sent an email on this “violation” nor when asked multiple times to explain and tell us what the violation was they fails to. So we had a canceled booking the night of with no reason or explanation why. They took my money and sent the refund to an unknown card when they should’ve just used the card on file. They also failed to send a refund receipt to the email ON FILE. I feel profiled and scammed of my money. If they wouldn’t had sent my money elsewhere I could have just gotten another hotel but no, I had to drive 2 hours back home. I’m so disgusted with customer support and sonder. I will never have anything nice to say and you all should be ashamed. Canceled with no explanation on my birthday and I watched people come in and out with drinks and drugs. Sickening. It is days later and I still haven’t received a refund nor an email explaining the so called “violation”. They canceled so sneaky because on the app I had they passkey to get into the building, the wifi password, as well as parking. So on my end everything seems fine. When I go to the room of course you are to provide a passkey to get inside the room. The passkey was all of a sudden gone and when I called to check in I’m now told that it’s been canceled. No good excuse or explanation. Fire your customer support because it could never be more trash and I’ve financed with Credito where people literally yell at you over the phone. I’d rather someone try and shove a bullshit excuse down my throat rather than give me legit NOTHING. You guys canceled my booking and gave me nothing….air bnb or booking is the way to go.

5 stars for incredible customer service, as well as comfortable and unique rooms for groups. Steve and the rest of the front desk and cleaning teams went above and beyond to make our group's stay the best possible! Customer Service: I left a necklace in the room and only realized it once I was already on the way out of town. While it's not worth much money, it was a gift from my mom and has been my favorite necklace to wear daily for the past few years, and the prospect of losing it was quite distressing. I messaged Sonder through the app, and a day or two later, they let me know that they'd found it. We worked together over email on a solution -- I bought and emailed them a UPS label, and they dropped it off at the UPS store about a week later. I am so, so grateful to Steve and the top-notch team at this hotel! The Room: Three girlfriends and I spent five nights in a small room with two bunk beds while we were in town for a conference. We're too old and were working too much to stay in a hostel, but at the same time, we're not close enough to share queen or king beds in a traditional hotel, so this was a totally perfect solution. All four of us agreed that the mattresses and pillows were super comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. Water pressure was excellent. Luggage storage solutions were very efficient. The climate control unit was a bit loud, but the front desk staff worked with us to ameliorate it. The room code and mobile key worked perfectly throughout our stay. The Neighborhood: Very easy and pleasant walking -- bear in mind, this was late August, so I can't speak for the rest of the year -- to work-related events throughout River North, Streeterville, and the Loop. While River North can be an eerily quiet neighborhood sometimes, I never felt unsafe.

We had a good time at this Sonder, but had some issues initially. For whatever reason, the #2 on the padlock to the lobby was nonfunctioning and our specific code had 3 #2s, making it extremely difficult to figure out how to first get in and the online support was very unhelpful in diagnosing and treating the problem. Eventually, we found out how to get in via the app but it was a frustrating experience. The luggage storage is subpar compared to other Sonder locations we have visited. Instead of having individual lockers, there is a luggage storage room - in essence, a large closet with metal racks to store your luggage but no specific and separate locking compartments. It felt very insecure and we ended up using a third party service nearby to hold our luggage on arrival and departure days. This was mildly inconvenient compared to how this Sonder is advertised online. For the room itself, it's like the other pictures on here depict. The room is basically to be used for sleeping/resting as there's minimal walking space and much of the room is taken up by the bunk bed. If you're aware of what you're getting into, like us, it wasn't a surprise, but I can see how you can be mislead by the pictures from the Sonder website. Overall, it was a fine experience staying here to visit Chicago but we'll be looking at other options for next time.

This hotel was exactly as described and everything I expected. The reviews complaining about the size of the room or the lack of hotel amenities are not fair and clearly from people that must not have read the description of the room and hotel. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Unfortunately, my room was right across from the elevator and the hallway noise came right through the door, which woke me up several times. If you are a solo traveler looking for simple, reasonably priced accommodations in a great downtown (River North) location, give this place a try. I travel to Chicago a lot for work and will definitely be back, but will ask for a room not right by the elevator.

This is a restored art deco hotel done right. The tv is a little confusing. Hold the remote right up to it. If you bring your Netflix password you can log in. I love the 1920s art deco style lighting in the rooms, please see the video. The bathroom in the room was GREAT.

I would 100% recommend this place if you're looking for a quick pop in during your time in Chicago. We came down for a concert and this place was amazing. Air conditioning, comfy bed and our own bathroom. We really didn't need much more. There is good security and our room was clean. This is great if you're just starting to travel too and need to save some cash like us! This is a great little gem inside Chicago.

If I can give 0star, I would do so. The washing machine doesn't work- and I'm Leaving in 2 days with soaked clothes in the washer. Called them and told me they would handle it. But nobody ever called back to tell me what to do. I have to take all the wet dirty clothes home!

Part 2 - two days later. Before I went to bed, I closed the bathroom door. I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and the door was locked. Someone locked the door from the inside and I couldn't get in. I ended up peeing in the waste paper basket. I woke up at 8am and called customer service again. They said someone would be here at 8:30 am. There was no sense of urgency They arrived at 8:55 am.

Overall a good stay, first thing we noticed was the room was different than what was posted online. room was great for 2 people but the parking down there isn't great. best thing to do is park in a garage overnight that's down the street

Horrible experience across the board. Horrible customer service, the location was not up to par, and this was the second time I stayed with Sonder. I was charged a RIDICULOUS fee of $250 for leaving dishes in the sink. Absolutely horrible. I DO NOT recommend!

This is a hostel not a hotel. We had a private room but all other aspects are hostel. Purely utilitarian. The lobby and lounge are cute but the actual rooms feel like dorm life all over again. Yes it's less expensive than many places, and serves the major function of a place to sleep at night... that's about it. The room is TINY. Cramped and dark. Nothing like the photo advertised. There was no place to put luggage or toiletries (like literally no counters) so you live out of your bag. And there's barely anywhere to put those if you want to be able to walk. There are holes in the walls and mold in the shower. There's a collection of dust and hair in the corner like no one has vacuumed in months. There's a bar downstairs so it's loud at night- I swear they played the same pulsing song from 10-3am. The door had a gap so we could hear everything in the hallway- and we were right next to the elevator. The worst part- I was hanging out in bed (there's no where else to sit) around 10 on our last night and I hear the door UNLOCK and see it start to OPEN. I freak out and say "Hello?!?" And the door closes back and someone says "oh sorry..." WHO HAS A KEY TO OUR ROOM AND IS TRYING TO ACCESS IT AT 10PM?! While we are still here?! Staff I assume but why were they trying to get in at 10pm on a Friday night?? We were told there's no housekeeping till you check out (not what it says on the website) so why would you need to be in our room?! Freaked me out and absolutely turned me off the place- I had been overlooking the shortcomings till then, but that was the last straw. If you're a young solo traveler looking for a cheap place to stay and interact with lots of people (you know, a HOSTEL experience) go for it, but if you think you are staying at a hotel like the name suggests- you'll be disappointed.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE THIEVES! Had the misfortune of accidentally booking on the wrong window while comparing various options in downtown Chicago for an upcoming stay 3 weeks away. Contacted the "host" Found Hotel within minutes of realizing my mistake requesting a refund and they refuse to void or cancel the transaction! Keep in mind this was PREPAYMENT for a 4-week stay that was 3 weeks away from the date the reservation was accidentally booked- the hotel did NOT incur ANY expense, harm or damages as I NEVER checked in, yet the blatantly refuse to issue a refund of $2,743.13 hard earned dollars! FOUND HOTEL SUCKS AND ARE THIEVES!!!!

TL;DR - I don't think I've ever had such a horrible experience with hotel service than at Found. We booked a 2-night stay here starting on a Saturday night in mid-July. We arrived shortly after midnight on the Saturday, and as we were checking in, we were told that our room was no longer available. The explanation from the staff seemed to center around having an issue with booking through 3rd party vendors. That didn't make sense since we booked directly via the Found website, and we never got anything beyond that for an explanation. While at the desk, I started to search online for alternative accommodations, and the staff said they'd check a sister property, Freehand, and comp us a room. After sharing that there wasn't any availability there either, the staff seemed to distract themselves and made no other offers to further help. After some time, and given it was 1am at that point, I realized that if we were going to sleep at a remotely reasonable time, this staff probably wasn't going to help us get there any faster. So we left and had to find accommodations on our own. I don't think I've ever had such a horrible experience with hotel service than what we experienced in 20 minutes at Found. Mistakes happen, but the half-baked explanation and the half-hearted attempt to help us find alternative accommodations was insulting.

Leaving one star because leaving a zero star is not an option. Our photo showed room 318 but it wasn't. Width of room was one foot on each side of the bed. The medium sized window in the photo of room 318 overlooked the city. The actual tiny window overlooked other walls. As a firefighter I would say this leaves no chance of an alternative egress during a fire. You will die.

The lobby is VERY nice but the rooms really leave something to be desired. Our digs for the weekend had holes in the walls, could use a good scrub, and most egregiously, PANTIES still in the under-the-bed drawers from a previous resident. Bear in mind before booking that you do not get normal hotel amenities - no bar soap, limited towels, no fridge, and no drinking water. Plus, we're early risers and the nights can get very loud because of the nightlife. Folks on that road really like to zoom around in loud cars. For what we paid, we should've just gone to a chain hotel or went for the hostel side of things instead, because that was NOT a hotel experience.

Staff was nice. Place held our bags while we were exploring before check-in. However, the room look like it hadn't been dusted in forever. There were splatter marks on the wood of the bunk beds (we were in a double bunk.) And I had later found out there were bed bugs in some rooms. The crevices between the wall and the bed looked gnarly and gave me the willies. The bathroom was large and clean which was a plus. But the overall room was gross. Pretty sure the sheets weren't cleaned just straightened. I slept in a hoodie, pants, and socks and covered my heads and didn't even use the blankets. We were out by 7 am. We only stayed here because it was cheaper than everywhere else due to Lollapalooza being scheduled at the same time of our trip but I'm sure with more time and a different weekend you could find a much better place.

This is a cute hotel in Rivernorth. It's close to everything, all major attractions and subway lines close by. I would describe it as more like a dorm hotel for students. Stayed here about 6 nights recently, met a few cool roommates along the way. It's not the Hyatt or anything but an affordable place to stay. 4 stars, I'd stay here again.

I stayed at the FOUND in West Los Angeles and had a great time. This facility is more crowded, hallways are tiny, and so i felt more claustrophobic here. The amenities were nice though and the front desk staff was decent. However, after paying for the room ($40) and parking ($15) it may have been better for me to get a private room in an Airbnb

Finally I FOUND a Great Hostel. After swearing off hostels due To a horrible Denver experience, I Was Lost but now I'm FOUND. What an amazing experience from Beginning to end. A hostel that Has 4 star Staff and Location. I was warmly greeted, professionally And personably handled my entire Stay. Whether it was the Cappucino In the Morn or the late night drink At the 'Exclusive' Blind Dragon bar, This Hotel/Hostel never disappointed. I really have to Commend the Staff. Perfection is difficult around a perfectionist. Kudos. Ideally located in the heart of The Loop. So many excellent dining Choices it was difficult to choose. Not to mention the Famous/Infamous Rock n Roll Mickey D's a block away. I Was Once Lost. Now I'm FOUND.

TL;DR; This hotel more of a HOSTEL, than a HOTEL. It has single rooms, with a queen-sized bed, alongside shared rooms with multiple people. Rooms are at most 40 square feet with a 15 inch TV. Room smells awful, musty, and sweaty....like a hostel. Desk is about 2 feet wide. Check in - person at the desk seemed to disappear every hour for about 20 minutes. Myself, and other guests, waited 30 minutes with no one at the desk to check in at 7pm. B/c it's a hostel, each person ahead of you takes ~10 mins for check-in. They manually type in their vaccination card details, and verbally run through every rule of shared rooms, shared kitchen, the lounge. Walls are paper thin. The only redeeming quality is the location is great. The price is wildly expensive for what you're getting.

Honestly, i think it's worth it to spend a little more on a better hotel. This hotel was not worth the $800+, the "blanket" on the beds is just two sheets, glad i brought my own blanket, but my friend had to buy a blanket. I always bring my own pillow as well because hotels dont like to change pillow cases for some reason, our pillows smelled like someone's greasy head. The bathroom was grimy and there was someone else's hair everywhere. Parking was 4 blocks away. But i guess the bunk beds were cool, felt nostalgic

From the moment we walked in, Sarah treated us like royalty. We were in town to celebrate my 21st birthday, and Sarah took the time to write down several suggestions of things to do around the city. When we were outsmarted by our heater, she personally came up and fixed it. Her friendly attitude set a great mood for our whole trip. I was a little disappointed that our room was so small, but for the price we didn't complain. It served its purpose of a bed and shower for the weekend. Also there was a $40ish fee for wifi (and something else, I was too shocked to listen)? I thought that would've been included in the room. But great hotel and shout out to Sarah.

The rooms are okay. The service is horrible. I am not sure if it is just the late night patron, but I have never experienced such bad service. I understand I am Not staying at a 5 star hotel but I still expect a certain level of service for the price I am paying. Late night patron was incredibly rude, did not want to help me at all. If you looking for a room and a shower this is the place however do not expect the hotel staff to treat you with respect. They treat everyone as if they are asking for a favor, walking off the street, without a place to sleep! It's a shame, they have the opportunity to be a great boutique hotel, but fall short in some of the service necessities.

At the end of July I had an event at the Merchandise Mart and needed a hotel close by so I wouldn't have to keep paying to park my car. I booked at the Found Hotel not knowing what to expect. I walked in and found a very modern motif and polite staff ready to answer questions. The lobby was great and they even had a kitchen near the lobby where you could cook and store your own food! The room was very clean and there were no strange smells like pets or cigarettes. I'm kind of a stickler about finding stings of hair anywhere, and unfortunately there were some in and around the shower. There was no bathtub, and the first night my remote didn't work but by the time I got back to go to bed, I was pooped anyway. Over all I would stay there again for the location, price, and cleanliness. If you like the hostel type of dwelling, they offer those situations as well.

Hi I'm jonette I stayed in this hotel for New Years and it was a terrible experience. When I checked into the hotel they put me down for the wrong room and charged me double for my stay which I was not aware of until leaving the hotel. I put down a deposit of 50$ in cash which they also took out of my card, I was given the cash back but never reimbursed for the 50$ they STOLE out of my bank. It has been weeks now and I haven't gotten a single penny of what they still owe me even after talking to the manager and having him tell me everything would be corrected in two days! I will never be visiting there again and unless you also want to be robbed I would stick to somewhere more professional! I would have stayed in a much better hotel for the price I ended up paying there!!!!!!

Excellent stay in this new private queen bedroom, private bath. Staff is lovely, place is new, modern, and clean. They have hostel stay, and private rooms. All based on what you are willing to pay for. In the heart of river north. Espresso machine in lobby, makes most of your coffee and tea drinks.

The rooms are very small. The toilet was wobbly and the handle was falling off. The comforter (which was more like a sheet) was threadbare. The staff were very friendly. They gave us additional pillows and towels. We didn't spend much time in the room which was good because the tv didn't work well.

I was booked to stay for a week. Called in to confirm my reservation, and a problem arose about covid accommodations. The concierge who answered my call was VERY rude and snapped back with answers like she's not working in a HOSPITALITY job. She wouldn't give me her name saying, " I don't have to give you my name." And when asked to speak to someone else because I wasn't getting anything from her, she said "There's no manager here today. I'm working alone" only to have the manager "walk in" a few minutes after. The manager gave excuses for the employee and wasn't helpful either. I ended up canceling my reservation. If the staff is that horrible on the phone and unapologetically lies to their clients, I wouldn't want to spend any day of my life in their hotel. Think twice before booking this hotel.

5 stars! Wonderful staff and incredibly curated design and decor. Chicago is home but I live in Los Angeles for work. Love to visit Chicago and when I do Found hotel is the place to be! The lobby and lower lounge are a must see, stop in for a coffee and don't forget to check out the restaurant Mason. Equally as incredible. Enjoy!

DO NOT STAY HERE! One, it was extremely overpriced for the small room. I stayed in a twin bunk bed with a family member, which was fine, but they only gave us a lumpy pillow a piece. When we asked for more pillows plural, they only gave us one. The guy who checked us in was rude, but the lady the next morning was nice. The first night was fine, but the second night was HORRIBLE. For starters, the hotel is connected to a bar that plays horrible club music. The walls and floors are super thin so you can hear and feel the bass of the music all night long. Now if you like to party until 3 a.m., then ignore this review. If that wasn't bad enough, once we finally got to sleep despite the music, the fire alarm went off because of the club. The person working told us it was either a smoke machine or someone smoking near the smoke alarm set it off. All of us in the hotel had to wait outside at 12:30 a.m. for the fire department to come and shut off the alarm. But, the club wasn't forced to evacuated, even though it was their fault for the alarm. I have stayed at a lot of hotels, and this is probably one of the worst experiences I've ever had for the price. The reviews are extremely misleading for the hotel, so hopefully this helps a traveler who just wants to sleep normal hours.

I booked 4 nights in a single room for a work trip. It's a new hotel, so I wasn't prepared for what I found... The light fixture near the bed fell out of the dry wall when I turned it on. The shower had an empty bottle of body wash. What's worse, upon further inspection of the bed, I discovered small, brown tics. I counted 4 tics before I gathered my things to go ask for a new room. There were no rooms available. At 10:30PM, I took an Uber to a new hotel. While these are unfortunate hotel experiences, they're not irreparable. An establishment can offer to call a cab, book a room at an equivalent hotel, etc. Instead, I found myself asking the GM in emails to exercise empathy and common sense in refunding me the nights I did not stay, let alone the night I had to book elsewhere. He claimed that he'd been in the industry for 8 years, and knew what bed bugs looked like. I'm no neature expert. Bed bugs, larvae, unidentifiable brown "stuff" or otherwise: would you stay in a bed that had crawlies in it? I don't think so. Should you call a patron to apologize for a less than great stay? At the least. tl;dr: A shoddy hotel that needs a better handle on hospitality. Was eventually refunded the nights, but will not frequent this place again and, if asked, would advise others to stay elsewhere.

Great location, great rates. Typical hostel feel. If need upscale go somewhere else and pay 3x as much.

I really wasn't sure what to expect because I've never stayed in a hostel before. This place was great. It's inexpensive and the location is to die for. The beds are super comfortable. Both of my roommates during my stay were awesome. I will definitely be staying here again when I visit. Nick and Alex were both super helpful (and handsome ). I stayed here from 6/20/2018 until 6/24/2018. If you're looking for a hotel heavy on amenities this place is not for you. It's nice because I usually don't use many of the amenities at the hotel anyway so it always felt excessive. This place does away with those to keep their costs down. Which is great because I have more money to spend on exploring the city. I think I paid something like $40/night compared to most other hotels that we're $150+. I saved several hundred dollars and was still able to stay in the River North area. If you don't know Chicago, this place is basically in the middle of everything. Highly recommend for a solo traveler, a couple or if you're like me and just prefer to stay on your own instead of with others traveling with you. Do not recommend for families, especially if you have young children. Not because of safety reasons but just because I think they'll be incredibly bored.

I recently stayed at The Found and am grateful. The staff was warm and inviting. I had booked a single with twin bed or at best a shared room, lower bunk only. However, the single room was unavailable. They IMMEDIATELY gave me a 2-bunk room to myself at the IDENTICAL price with MY OWN BATHROOM! The full size bed was incredibly CLEAN, comfortable. A flat screen TV hung solidly on the wall for perfect viewing from either upper or lower bunk. Each bunk was equipped with a well placed 2-plug 2-USB electric outlet. A bright, flexible necked light for each bed. There were several other outlets around the room, and a small desk with chair. To get to the upper bunk were STAIRS (steep) with railing. Lots of storage under the stairs. This room had a very large bathroom. Not fully ADA accessible. Though, I did not try to get a Walker or wheelchair in. Crutches were EASY to use within the bathroom, and LARGE shower with small lip at entry. Many well placed towel hooks AND coat hooks. When I first registered I was walking just fine. Unfortunately, I fell on a sidewalk day two. That is when the crutches appeared. I needed an ice pack for the injury. The Owner/Manager offered me his own ice. He went to get me some but, found none. He IMMEDIATELY went out and BOUGHT a large bag of ice. I had gone up to my room to lie down. Maybe 10 minutes later I was brought a large Ziplock baggie FULL of ICE. I cannot tell you how GRATEFUL I was/am for their care. Much later I went down to the beautiful lobby full of couches and chairs, with one computer. I was curious about the hotels amenities. I found a huge kitchen with TWO commercial size refrigerator/freezers. Two full size ovens with full cook-tops and a commercial vent over them. There was a chocolate cake on one of the counters and was told it was for everyone. Thank G-d! There will soon be the "Mason", a fine restaurant next door. LITERALLY, a door in the Lobby leads DIRECTLY into the restaurant. A bar, called "The Blind Dragon" is also, planned. The only down side was a lack of affordable nearby parking. There ARE several Pay-to-Park spots out front. The "EL" runs directly above The Found and MANY bus stops close-up. I NEVER HEARD the "EL" while inside. NOTE: The ORIGINAL "Gilda's Club," a cancer support center, created by early SNL Player, Gilda Radner and Gene Wilder. Designed for supporting the whole family affected by a loved one experiencing CANCER! It is in the middle of the NEXT BLOCK! Go out front of The FOUND, back to the building, turn left, stay on the same side of the street. The hotel was under construction from the outside, so it was difficult to navigate getting in and the street traffic was constant. Our room unfortunately did not have working AC and we were told there were no other options for us. In addition to this, the toilet looked like it had been used and not flushed when we arrived, there was no soap, shampoo, body wash, or lotion leftover, and only 2 towels. Thankfully we brought our own toiletries, and we only booked for one day rather than an extended trip. The lobby is gorgeous and looks like it could be a new age speakeasy. There is a downstairs lobby as well, but it is dark and had a strange smell so we didn't stay there long. The location is convenient if you are spending most of your time downtown, and it does cost to park there. Our room was spacious and the decor/set up is very nice. I would prefer this room to many other basic hotels if some of the other amenities and utilities were in better shape. WiFi did not work when we were there and the TV was struggling as well, which like I said, wasn't too big of an issue considering we only stayed there for one night.

Total ripoff, would never ever stay here again, bait you into a cheap room to "share" with 3 other people? I would expect it in Nairobi, a few places I have stayed in Ecuador but downtown Chicago? So laughable. Very glad I can spread the word so others don't get trapped here.

I checked in On sep 8 in the evening around 8pm. Whoever was at front desk should get a raise. One of the best experiences I've had with the front staff at a hotel. I was having a bad day and the gentleman tried as best as he could to make my day better. Rooms are small but for downtown Chicago and the price, shouldn't expect more. Bigger than the closets in nyc and London

I got robbed here, please don't go here. literally don't know what else to tell you to not go here. do not go here. I got robbed... he took $3k worth of stuff from me... A REGULAR... goodbye. that's it.

Cute atmosphere and great location. Service was good at checkin. Love that guests had access to a kitchen and lounge in basement with TV and games. Room was tiny but that's expected in the city.

I booked a room here for a staycation! Great decor. But, they did deceive me. When we walked into our room it was a shoe box. Nothing too bad though, we weren't going to spend the whole day in the room. But I paid a good amount of money and thought I was going to get a lot more room than we did. Anyways, the workers were nice and readily available when needed. I did not like how there was only 2 pillows on the bed and a paper thin blanket. The guy I asked for another blanket seemed annoyed that I was asking. The room was freezing cold and we slept without the AC on. Overall the room could have been a little bit more clean mostly because I'm worried about the pandemic. Like I said, everything was fine but I don't think we would stay here again. We had a great weekend though.

Stayed at Chicago river north downtown location. This place is GHETTO! The room is small the bed cover had a stain on it the tv was tiny and only has basic cable and the worst part is they have NO WIFI! the guest WiFi does not connect so I called front desk and told them and she gave me a BS excuse saying oh the internet is down and so is hers. I told her okay well you're on a different network because a hotel would not use the guest network. She said she's having her IT guy try and fix it giving me any excuse to get off the phone. I didn't feel like keep arguing with this uneducated person. DO NOT STAY HERE!

It's the little things that count. On the surface this place looks great but they miss the mark on any detail that would make your stay comfortable. I stayed here with a friend and the idea of bunks was kind of fun and the price for downtown Chicago was great. The pictures on the site are of the larger rooms with big bay windows. Our room was a shoebox. Once we pulled our two suitcases in the room we barely had room left to stand. First we checked the mattresses out of habit. No bed bugs but there were stains all over the mattresses and no mattress covers. We pondered asking for a new room, buying mattress covers or leaving but decided to just deal. The sheets were so cheap you could see through them and the "blankets" were just two flat sheets. The stairs to the bunk had been broken off the frame but was still usable. Luckily I didn't drop anything down the black hole or tear anything on the huge screws sticking out. The mirror was hidden in corner making it impossible to use. There was an ironing board and iron but good luck finding the space to set it up. The AC unit was impossible to use and would randomly blow cold or hot air which wasn't great seeing as the huge unit was about three feet from my face. It woke me up every night, after the first night of sleeping in pants and a coat I went to target and bought a blanket. Oddly the bathroom was huge but there were no counters to put toiletries and no shelves in the shower so everything had to sit on the floor. The toilet flush sounded like a jet engine and there was no lid. The fan ran constantly and was pretty loud. Overall one of the most uncomfortable hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. Oh and FYI, the advertised restaurant and cafe are closed because of covid. The few pluses that make this a two star, the staff was very nice, the common areas were stylish and the location was great.

I contacted Found to see if they could help with setting up a block for my upcoming wedding (or at least offer a group discount rate) based on the fact that they have provided such services for other people I know in the past. After 10 days of not hearing back from them, I called to follow up with this and was kept on the phone for 10 minutes while the receptionist, instead of just answering the question, asked me to respell my email 3 times. After this, she THEN informed me that they do not offer group rates etc. Which, while fine, is a vital piece of information she could have just said at the start of the conversation when I first asked or when I initially contacted the hotel. She had a massively unhelpful attitude to boot. I would have gladly recommended this place group discount or not, but this place seems like a total hot mess to work with and I could never trust them to show my guests a good time.

Stayed here right before a job interview in Chicago and had a great time. For the price I paid, I was not expecting the hotel to be this nice. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into a super cute and nicely decorated lobby and was greeted by someone at the front desk. There was some sort of promotion, so I got a free bottle of champagne for booking online! My room was small, cute and clean. The bathroom was nice but the hotel soaps were strange. I had a great wifi connection and was able to print documents in the lobby. Overall, I had a great stay!

This hostel has been better than a lot of full blown hotels that I have stayed in. First of all, Chicago itself has beautiful architecture which reminds me of a Brooklyn ans Torrance blend. The front of Found is sleek and stands out with its black matte paint and gold lettering. The inside has a retro feel. I got there really early, before my room was ready, and was super tired. The friendly receptionist, and they were all soooo nice, let me snooze in the downstairs lounge. It did smell a little like dust down their but from what I could tell, it was clean. Finally, I go to my room. Remember, this is a hostel but what I found was the most beautiful bunk beds with a locker in it. If you forget a lock you can buy one there although none of my roomies gave me the vibe that I even needed one and none of them used one so I guess a decent crowd, or at least one with a false sense of security, comes here. The bathroom in my room was private with beautiful white tile. The towels are so comfortable and plush as well. Also, you'll find the rooms equipped with quality hand soap, lotion, body wash and shampoo. I was disappointed that conditioner wasn't included but again, this is better than what you get at other hostels and even hotels. There is access to a modern private kitchen and also laundry. The location is pretty accessible to things in the area. Its a 15 minute walk to the westin on Michigan avenue and less than 30 minutes to the pier. I wouldn't recommend spending money elsewhere to be honest and plan on only staying here when I visit again.

Best hostel experience yet. I checked in late after an entire day of traveling and it was such a delight to see a friendly face. The receptionist was very helpful in getting me situated and provided a number to text if I had any issues. The lobby had a relaxing ambiance and a rustic, yet unique character to it. Next to the lobby was a little cafe that opened at 7am for coffee. There was also a kitchen and refrigerator open to the guests. The room was very spacious with large beds and windows. Each bed was equipped with a reading lamp, an outlet, and two pillows. Towels were available in the room free of charge. There was even an ironing board and plenty of hooks and hangers to hang up your clothes. Attached to the room was a separate section for the sink and toilet + shower. All spotless! And for the price ($40 per night) in downtown Chicago, you simply can't beat it! Overall an incredible experience.

I love the staff. Super friendly, nice place, clean. it was great. But dorm rooms are hard. The little secure cubby for my belongings was broken but the staff were awesome and let me stash my stuff in their private storage. Beds are comfortable. The hotel was great. But when you want to get up super early to do the tourist thing, and your 2 room mates are still using the shower and hair dryer at midnight. Its mildly annoying. Sooo there's that. The place it's self is awesome.

We were more than happy with our experience. We reserved a queen room, and the open concept with multiple tall windows allowed for a lot of light and space. The decor of the main lobby is definitely not your cookie-cutter Hilton or Mariott - this place has character! On-suite kitchen, so you can prepare your own food, as well as a lobby-level coffee shop. The basement has a small common area with board games, and reminded me of a dorm style lounge. We spent a lot more time in our hotel than we had initially planned for, but that was because we absolutely loved the experience.

I "found" this spot by happenstance on Booking.com, and I must say that I am incredibly pleased with my experience! My girlfriend and I care down from MI to attend Vegandale and hit our usual Windy City spots! Snagged a solid last minute deal on Found, and it did not disappoint. The staff was very friendly, and stored our bags for us until check-in. Room was simple (do not go in expecting large, excessive, luxury rooms - this is not the allure. The vibe is for travelers, who come from out of town to experience the city - but to have a cozy place to chill and unwind when you are done exploring. It was HOT during our stay, but the A/C was POWERFUL and so refreshing to say the least. The bathroom was spacious, with a great shower! Bed was comfy as all get out as well. Overall, would definitely stay here again and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice, but not overly luxurious, spot to stay!

I booked this hotel through Travelocity... Originally the booking was for June of 2020 because a friend of mine and I were to attend a concert in Chicago. Well.. as we all know, Covid came to play. Other accommodations I have had booked through Travelocity during the period of covid has worked with me SPECTACULARLY! FOUND hotel on the other hand? No. Not at all. They wouldn't let me cancel the booking due to COVID and the concert being moved, at all. They insisted I reschedule... so I asked if they could reschedule to the new concert date for June 2021... apparently, they couldn't book out a year in advance. Okay, fair enough. Therefore I asked what my options were since they REFUSED to refund me for something completely out of my control and how was I supposed to reschedule to a later date when COVID was in mid-swing and everything was closed??? I ended up rescheduling for December, hoping maybe by then things would be cleared up, I could make a mini trip out of it or I could just reschedule again for another date (Because they refuse to give refunds).. December rolls around and my partner contracted COVID, family members have contracted COVID, and everything was so chaotic that the last thing on my mind was a hotel reservation....... I NEVER received a single reminder of my booking, a reminder of check-in, a reminder of ANYTHING from the hotel. I only realized the date for check-in had arrived when Travelocity contacted me asking if "check-in went okay?" I panicked. That room was $100, people around me were sick and in the hospital, and I totally didn't remember. I tried contacting the hotel, nothing. I contacted Travelocity, they were EXTREMELY empathetic, and they got in contact with the hotel general manager, Gerald, who flat out refused to refund me at all because it was past the cancelation time. (Which makes ZERO sense because when I tried canceling before they refused to refund me as well!!!!) Eventually, I did get a message from the hotel through the Travelocity app, and he never once apologized that my partner had covid or anything. Just stated no refunds. PATHETIC customer service and I will never recommend this hotel to anyone.
