Ordered:
New York Strip Périgourdine $64
truffle frites $14
We went around 10 PM and sat at the bar, where our server was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and really made the experience enjoyable. Our food was brought out by a gentleman named Eddie, who was incredibly sweet and charismatic. He presented the dishes with flair, even dressing the steak with the sauce right in front of us, which added a nice bit of entertainment. He also went out of his way to help us open something we were struggling with, which was such a thoughtful touch. Eddie was truly a highlight of the evening, and we hope more guests get the chance to be served by him.
As for the food, we ordered the ribeye steak with a side of truffle fries. The steak itself was disappointing—the creole-style sauce didn’t pair well and gave it more of a meatloaf-like flavor. The cut was also a bit off and turned out quite dry. That said, the potatoes on the side were delicious and really saved the dish, while the truffle fries were excellent—crispy, flavorful, and well-prepared. The green sauce wasn’t our favorite, but the cocktails were fantastic. One was a perfect balance of spicy and sweet, and the Riesling paired really nicely with the fries.
Overall, while the food itself left us underwhelmed, the drinks, atmosphere, and above all the service were wonderful. Between our great bartender and Eddie’s charismatic service, the experience at the bar was memorable. It’s a convenient and stylish spot inside the hotel, but for us, the drinks and service far outshined the food.
