The perfect bar, I fear. I can’t believe I have ANY pictures in this place because I’m always just talking to someone or playing pool or queueing up songs on the jukebox. There’s something about this place that you can’t really take a picture of: the people are always friendly and chill, you can tell it has a low staff turnover rate, the food is ALWAYS good. This is the kind of bar which would be the ultimate muse for a poet from the 1800s. My one drink photo is an espresso martini that was made with love, but know that they put just as much love into every beer they pour. It just isn’t as instagrammable.

All of the food here is amazing. This garlicy and meaty lasagna rivaled my mom's. Great staff, shoutout to Nikki :D, and an awesome selection of drinks.

Great spot! Stopped in for brunch and everything was great, exceeded our expectations. I’ve been here for lunch and had the BLT before, it’s the best in the neighborhood. Club style with a third slice of toast but you can remove that if you wish. They’ve got a solid beer list, nice patio, and a pool table. Overall great option that does the classics well.

The spacious interior provides ample seating near the bar, while the additional backroom and charming patio (perfect for summer evenings) ensure there's always a comfortable spot to relax. For entertainment, there's a pool table available for those interested. One of the standout features is the consistently excellent service - the staff really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. While I've primarily sampled their unique take on sweet potato fries, which come as hearty chunks rather than traditional fries, I'm excited to explore more of their menu. The daily specials are particularly intriguing, and I'm looking forward to my next visit to try them out!

Our first time here and we really enjoyed everything! Rufus was great, food was tasty, beers were cold, and the atmosphere was welcoming. We will be back soon.

Can’t speak for the food (only had beer) but the service and atmosphere made it one of those bars you can just spend the whole night with your buddies at.

Edit: I’m not gonna change the star rating, but the bartender today was very dismissive and borderline rude, I don’t want to feel that way about a place that I really like. I love the food here, I just wish it was more of a friendly vibe. The manager was super nice but the way the bartender acted towards us honestly sucked. :( So so so impressed with the food here. I want to try everything. The chili is outstanding, and the freakin meatloaf, man…

Stopped by for a quick bite -- ordered the burger and I'd say food is pretty average. We sat outside on the patio, which is a nice area to hang out with friends. Staff is friendly, so would come back to grab a drink and chill!

Here is another divy bar in Roscoe Village that gets locals. It's been a place for cheap drinks and eats over the years. Four Moon is a bar with better than average food. Prices are higher than before but it's a lot more affordable than the newer places that have opened. They have a lot of great specials. After going here a few times I can say it's one of the low key best hangouts. It's not to be confused with Four Treys, another popular bar in the neighborhood. This is the one that actually has a food menu, allowing someone to tell the difference between these. It's about $6 for the cheapest cocktail. The food is not to be missed. Hummus might be the best bet. It's $8 for a pretty big portion. Creamy with loads of garlic flavor. The rest of the menu features stuff like chicken tenders and nachos. Go hit this place up any day. It has a pretty serious draft list of local stuff. The food is more than the usual greasy junk like chicken wings and whatever.

It's a great place to get work done and grab lunch! It's a neighborhood bar, through and through--with welcoming staff, TVs, a pool table, and old wood paneling. It's a perfect spot to make home during the cozy tavern season.

Food was so good! Highly recommend the chicken tenders. I thought this was going to be more of a late night dive bar experience but I was pleasantly surprised with their big menu and great food! Great service! Enjoyed sweet potato fries also! Kitchen open late too which is nice to know in this area!

As expected, great customer service and good food. The staff is always so friendly and fast to get you some condements or another drink. The food is rather good and simple, but well done. I always enjoy going to this place

Want to come here with your girlfriends? Don't. Bartender was hostile to myself and my girlfriends from the moment we walked in. Our boyfriends walked in next and she was very nice to them. She also stopped the bathroom door from closing to yell at us for two people going together. Not sure what the problem is with women is but I will never come here again.

This is a decent local neighborhood bar. Solid food and a good amount of space for you to sit down and enjoy yourself. Pretty good beer selection and a very personable staff. If you're looking for a lower key bar to get away from the crowds this is a good choice.

This bar used to be so cool, I've been going there for the past decade. Theres a newish bartender/server who is literally the worst. I think his name is Matt, he was incredibly rude to myself, my group and pretty much everyone at the bar. Just doesn't feel like the same bar. I miss Joe.

Goddess love a good neighborhood bar. This one doesn't disappoint with its pool table and jukebox, friendly staff that have been around for years, and daily food specials and draft beer on rotation. I recently had a blueberry beer that I've had dreams of ever since - so Four Moons is clearly choosing their beer selection right! Apparently the spaghetti and meatballs is to die for - it's next on my list to try. However, they make a mean grilled cheese and tomato soup for those seeking comfort food around the corner from home.

Absolutely fantastic food. Great staff and great beer menu. Inside is an old school bar feel with a pool table, but very comfortable to eat in (even as a single lady) and the outside space is very welcoming.

Great little divey bar with nice variety of food and drafts, with very hip music (Meat Puppets and Wilson Pickett featured during my visit...!)

Had the sloppy Joe and crabcakes. Both were very good. Very friendly staff and atmosphere.

5 stars. I'm sitting here writing this with literal wing sauce on my fingers. I couldn't wait. I have to admit, i'm a bit bias to this place because it's so warm and friendly. Never met a bad soul here. During the pandemic they built an amazing covered patio with heat lamps. They do allow dogs on the patio - big neighborhood plus! As far as the food and drinks go. They're a straight shooter. Great beer, basic cocktails, and MALÖRT! Food is delicious, you just can't go wrong. Favorite go to's - Nachos, Gyros, Chicken Tenders, Fries, honestly never had a bad meal. Joe's great! The whole staff is a great bunch and make you feel so welcome. Glad everyone's made it through the rough winter, and so happy to see this place open and doing it right. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area!

They have a daily special. When I came on Sunday it was $4 mimosas and 1.50 Miller high Life cans. Got a full order of wings and some onion rings. The onion rings came out with barbecue sauce and were made with beer. Good staff. Have the perfect balance of good service without being overbearing. Gotta love a neighborhood tavern. Back room is kinda neat. I like the classic beer cans.

Nice neighborhood feel and a nice craft beer draft list. However, the food is very average. I wouldn't eat here again but would stop for a drink.

Cozy bar tucked into Roscoe Village. We come here on occasion to shoot pool and I've gotten a tuna melt before here which was pretty good. Standard bar food. Only complaint is the tax-free discount on your tab when you pay cash. I always use my card so to get taxed on two beers, plus tip is annoying. I will add that the few times I've played pool it's usually occupied by some guys taking it WAY too seriously. We beat two dudes playing and they started taking swings at my buddy. Bartender kicked them out fortunately but obviously knew them by name.

We came here for to grab a bite for lunch and were really happy with it! The food was great classic american, which is what we were hoping for. And they had a lot of interesting brews on tap!

Yo this place is no joke. it's the cutest bar in our neighborhood and the food does not disappoint. you will always get a good drink, good service, good people, and excellent bar food. do not sleep on this place- it's our favorite.

The bans of a sandwich and French fries were good, and the servers were also very friendly and caring.

You can't find a better neighborhood bar than this. Best music, best food, best bar, best atmosphere, and best Joe to ever work at a bar in Chicago. Go play some pool or hang out on their deck if you're in the Roscoe area.

Solid neighborhood place with no frills, but great food, lots of drink options, and an outgoing friendly staff. Have gone here 1-2 times a year since 2000 and it's always been consistently good.

This is a great little neighborhood bar. We sat outside and they sanitized the table and chairs before we sat. All the tables were full on a Saturday evening. I can't really speak for the food because all we had were fries, but those were great, piping hot and just the right thickness. We all had a beer; they had a few interesting ones on tap and a lot of bottles and cans to choose from, as well. The service was fast and friendly.

We LOVE Four Moon tavern! Great food, fun music (albeit, it's always too loud) and wonderful staff. We moved to the neighborhood in the spring and have enjoyed many a meal and drink at this neighborhood spot. The staff is extremely attentive, the food comes out hot and delicious, and it's a place full of good vibes. Thank you for ALWAYS giving an an amazing time (and full bellies!)

My favorite bar. Always something great on the jukebox, always a great selection of beer on tap, and the best fish and chips in the city. The bartenders band servers are awesome.

I've never been let down by Four Moon. The bar food is more than bar food -- it's delicious. Everyone who works here is personable and it feels like you are in a real neighborhood bar. I'd pick four moon over a fancy restaurant most nights.

I always forget about this place but glad I remembered again yesterday. The prices and specials are always great and the service is SO FRIENDLY. They are super attentive without being overbearing and the whole staff is so nice. The food is good and the place itself is so cozy. On a personal note, they really stepped up when our dog had a moment, wiggled out of her collar and almost pulled over an entire table. Every staff member came to my rescue to help and assured me it was ok. I was super embarrassed and frazzled but the staff again stepped up and took care of not just the dog, but me as well. THANKS AGAIN!! Can't wait to come back and hopefully the dog behaves this time!!

Great food, great drink and great service! Sparky, the bartender, is very fun, knowledgeable and helpful. The beer selection here is vast. It's a cute little bar with a dining room all the way in the back. There's only 1 pool table, but it's usually open on week nights. There's also outdoor seating available. What really blows me away about Four Moon is the food. I can't believe how good food at a bar can be. MEATLOAF - It melts in your mouth! This is my favorite dish from here. Strangers at the bar would approach me after catching the aroma from this dish to ask me how it is. PIEROGI - They're pretty good, stuffed with different meats and vegetables and severed with apple sauce and sour cream.

My friends and I frequent Four Moon usually one or two times a week and have been going there for around four years or so. If you haven't been to Four Moon yet, here's a list of reasons why you should give it a try: 1) Grilled Cheese with Bacon, Tomato and/or mushrooms. Your arteries might cry, but your taste buds will rejoice. (Late night kitchen favorites also include the nachos, hummus plate and onion rings. If only they served Tots... I probably wouldn't eat anywhere else). 2) Jukebox: Despite having been stolen not once, not twice, but, I believe, three times, the Four Moon's jukebox has returned and is brand new with the same amazing selection of music. 3) Sparky. He's probably my No. 1 reason to visit the Four Moon. Nicest guy, knows his bar, knows his customers, courteous, and always has a great beer recommendation. 4) Brunch. Roscoe Village as a whole is pretty well known for having great brunch spots, but you usually have to wait 30 minutes to an hour for most places. Four Moon has AMAZING brunch and rarely is there ever a wait. I recommend the French toast but really everything is delicious. 5) The ELO--or is it Blue Oyster Cult-- Mickey Mouse painting: Go to the back. You'll see it. Is it ELO? Is it Blue Oyster Cult? Is it just a bunch of randos who are all feeling the electric light parade music? 6) Why not five stars? The SOLE reason this review is sans a fifth star is because of one especially rude waitress. Way to go, lady. You've dragged it all down. It's one thing if a waitress has a bad day, or if she's just protective of her bar, I get that. This woman is something else. It's almost as if she goes out of her way to be rude. And not funny rude or ironic rude, which for some reason I'd be okay with. She's just plain mean. I sincerely think she has a vendetta against women. And not just a particular type of woman. Any woman, really. She's extremely nice to her male customers, though. So if you're a dude, go ahead and consider this a five-star rating. If you are a girl, take the lack of a fifth star with a grain of salt and just find Sparky to take your order.

I was going to do a review, but I don't have much to add to Linda's as we stopped in here together and hers covers it. I used to go to this bar many moons ago (pardon the pun) good memories.

They love me here, and I love them back! Dogs are welcome on the patio, and the friendly servers brought me my own water bowl and a sweet potato fry as a special treat. Everyone came out to give me pets! My family said the food was freshly made and tasty-- high quality bar food with lots of local selections on tap. And a short drive from Montrose Dog Beach! A must visit for dogs and their people.

Best chicken wings and chicken tenders in the city. The best part about the wings is that they taste like a classic hot wing and not crapped up by a place trying to put their own unique spin to differentiate. The wings stand out because they don't try to stand out. The wings are cooked perfectly, deep fried but not breaded. The chicken tenders remind my girlfriend of her childhood, crispy, yet not oily. The Thursday night shrimp taco is the best taco I've ever had to boot. The staff are super friendly and welcoming and they have a revolving beer list so you can keep coming back to try great beers to wash them wings down. P.s My mom also mentioned the onion rings were the best she's ever had.

Everything about FMT is good. Their food is good, service is good and the beer selection is good! The food menu has basic bar food and they run various specials each day of the week. It's probably a better spot for someone that wants high quality beer compared to amazing bar food. Service has always been consistent and it's a great neighborhood spot!

Stopped in on a Friday night for dinner. The vibe is a little retro. They were playing Carl Perkins, etc. and overall, it felt very homey. It was reasonably full, and we were able to grab a seat at the bar. The bar service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the burger, which met my bar food expectations. It came with a large side of fries that hit the spot. We also got a very large chicken tenders appetizer. Go for the small portion if you're getting an appetizer. The large is very much a dinner size. Overall, I would come back if I was in the neighborhood and looking for a quick bite. Our bill for an app, two entrees, and a few beers was about $50z

Four Moon is awesome!! The staff are all so friendly and fun to be around, definitely is one of our favorite neighborhood bars in the neighborhood. (Get the wings and try their Reuben's when you get a chance.) Huge shoutout to Matt, Robbie, Joe, Mike, Nicki and Becky for making this such a special place!

Best bar in the area! Loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff. Felt super relaxed and at ease the whole time I was here. Ordered dinner and drinks and the food did not disappoint! The Sunday pot roast felt totally like a home cooked family meal and that meant a lot during these crazy times. Will definitely be back!

A good neighborhood bar, and it seems like the staff knows everyone that walks in there. Regulars abound but I wasn't one so service was a little on the so-so side. Fortunately, I was with a group of regulars and I managed to tag along to their orders. The pierogis were okay, the meat ones were the best out of the ones but the nachos were just okay. However, they do have 18th st. and Spiteful on tap, because those guys frickin' love it there. So, I can't hate this place too much.

horrible service. we got seated and watched the waiter walk past us without saying a word. no waters, or any acknowledge to our presence for 30 minutes. the waiter finally came around and was RUDE. they need to work on their hospitality. wont be coming back here!!

Sadly I have moved out of the immediate area and four moon is no longer a quick walk away. The staff is super friendly, and they typically have a great selection of beer with a fun monthly special. Their food menu is also solid, particularly with the daily specials. I used to love coming and sitting on the patio with my dog relaxing during the summer.

One of our two go-to neighborhood bars (Village Tap the other). Food menu is pretty limited, but everything I've had is well made. Can be a bit uncomfortable if crowded. Beer menu used to be more unique and interesting.

Small place but great atmosphere. We love sitting outside and ordering a new beer (so many to choose from) and appetizer. Highly recommend!

I couldn't love Four Moon any more if I tried. It's the best neighborhood bar there is and is half the reason we moved back to this neighborhood when we came back to Chicago. Service is always great and food never disappoints. This is our happy place. Make sure to support them during this crazy time!

Best neighborhood bar. Great food, drink list, people, and (pre-apocalypse) just a great place to hang out. Tuesday special is Jambalaya, which is fantastic.

One of my favorite bars/restaurants in the city. It's a great corner bar for people in the area. It's a quaint little spot. It has great bar food. Grilled cheese and fries? Spot on. The personal pizzas are great as well (pro tip: get it was garlic and pepperoni). The music they're playing is always great. The staff is amazing. I'm not a beer drinker, but they have great beer on tap. It's a humble little place that's great at what it is, a little semi-divey neighborhood bar.
