The Best Hotels in the Seychelles

"Settle into your stilted room at the Four Seasons Resort on Mahé, and you’ll be forgiven for not noticing the white, shrouded bed, the paintings by local artist Alyssa Adams, or the glamorous, sunken marble bathtub. The resort’s 67 treehouse-style villas are carved into the hillside and, with floor-to-ceiling windows, it means that the first thing you are drawn to is the soaring view over the arc of Petite Anse Bay. At dusk, huge fruit bats scoop past your windows, while, by day, cheeky scarlet Madagascan Fody birds perch by your outdoor pool. From the lush, tropical landscaping (brightly-hued hibiscus, wild vanilla, and frangipani line all the walkways) to the ocean conservation activities, such as coral planting, led by Wise Oceans, a stay here gives an immersive take into Seychellois island life. The menu at Kannel offers local and fusion specialities such as octopus curry, cassava chips, and Mauritian Bol Renverse (sautéed beef, rice, and fried egg). Koi offers a Japanese Omakase menu, while at Zez, you can start the day with an extensive breakfast buffet—think fresh fruit, acai bowls, and Creole omelettes. At night, the restaurant offers Asian delicacies, such as red snapper tempura, sushi platters, and tiger prawn teppanyaki. A highlight is the Le Syel Spa, perched at the resort’s highest peak. You’ll find healing treatments that harness local, natural ingredients—such as moringa, cinnamon, and lemon—as well as tantalizing views across the Indian Ocean. It’s simply heavenly. —Angelina Villa-Clarke"

Coconut Is Everything in Seychelles’ Creole Cuisine | Eater

"A luxury resort that weaves coconut into many guest experiences—fresh coconut water and chocolates at check-in, coconut-centered dinners, woven palm-tree bags, and spa treatments branded around the local coco‑de‑mer—while participating in broader restoration efforts on outer islands and highlighting coconut heritage as part of its cultural and wellness programming." - Tyler Zielinski

Four Seasons Resort Seychelles

"Built like extravagant tree houses above Petite Anse, the resort’s 67 villas, each with an infinity pool and outdoor rain shower, have a Creole design style with French colonial and European influences. In fact, the resort’s design was inspired by a Creole village, with the beachside Kannel restaurant and bar, and main pool representing the sociable market place."

The Four Seasons Resort Seychelles at Petite Anse, Mahé, felt like home, as always with Four Seasons. The Hilltop Ocean View Villa was stunning—spacious, with a private pool and amazing ocean views. The service was perfect, the staff so kind, and the food at Kannel and ZEZ was delicious, with great kids’ options for our one-year-old. The Petite Anse beach was beautiful, calm, and safe for swimming. Nearby activities like snorkeling and a day trip to Anse Source d’Argent were easy to arrange. The resort felt safe, with attentive staff and a private setting. It was easy to walk to the beach and restaurants in minutes. Every detail, from the comfy beds to the fresh fruit basket, made our week unforgettable.

I stayed in the Four Seasons Seychelles to celebrate my birthday, and I can confidently say it was one of the most special and relaxing experiences I’ve had - and I am a fussy customer. The resort is incredibly peaceful, set amidst lush tropical greenery with panoramic views of the turquoise Indian Ocean. The beach itself is pristine and feels almost untouched, the kind of setting you dream of when you think of a private island escape. A small note for future guests: the waters are powerful and the beach is unsupervised, so it’s definitely better suited to strong swimmers (and not for children!). What truly elevated this stay, however, was the exceptional care and attention from James Edwards, the Director of Guest Relations. From the moment we arrived, James made it his mission to ensure every day felt unique and personal. His ability to anticipate needs without being intrusive, coupled with his warm, sincere approach, made us feel not just welcome but genuinely looked after. Whether it was a thoughtful check-in during the day, a small surprise to mark the birthday, or simply taking time to connect on a human level, James brought a sense of meaning and care that you simply don’t get everywhere. It’s rare to encounter someone in hospitality who leaves such a lasting impression, and thanks to James and the Four Seasons team, I left feeling completely recharged and deeply grateful. Highly recommended for anyone seeking understated luxury, privacy, and heartfelt service.

This hotel is amazing! You're on the mountain side high up! The views are awesome. We enjoyed our pool too. We had a great time down at the beach as well. There are many amenities. Everything is pretty expensive so it was a splurge for us! But we really enjoyed it.

Our stay at Four Seasons Resort Seychelles was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the dazzling turquoise of the ocean let us know - we had stepped into paradise. Each day felt incredibly special, thanks to both the breathtaking surroundings and the genuine warmth of the people around us. The villa itself was spectacular, nestled among lush greenery with a large private pool that quickly became our favorite place to unwind. Every activity we tried left us feeling both energized and relaxed, striking the perfect balance between adventure and serenity. Breakfast at Zez was the highlight of our mornings - so good, we woke up earlier just to savor it. We’re still dreaming of the perfect omelette by Chef Melissa. Huge thanks to Marissa and Edwina for their consistent morning warmth and hospitality that made each breakfast feel like home. Luxmi and Audy at the front desk made sure our arrival and farewell were filled with kindness and care, setting the tone for the entire stay. At the beach, Valerie looked after us wonderfully - being at what’s arguably the best part of the hotel felt even better thanks to her attention. We also had the pleasure of being served by Damian at Zez Bar, whose cocktails and sincere service made our evenings extra special. And a special shout-out to Pip from Ocean Wise - her knowledge and passion added a meaningful layer to our experience. This resort is not just a place to stay - it’s a feeling, a memory, a dream that stays with you.

We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary in May 2025 in a top hill villa. First of all, I would like to say that the resort is located above one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Mahe. The villa is very spacious and well-equipped and offers a perfect view of the sea from every side. The villa has a private pool. The hotel staff was very helpful and did everything to make our celebration perfect. The service was very personal and pleasant. Mohamad, James, Victoria & Eros took special care of us, who provided service above and beyond. The breakfast was varied and perfect. We ate dinner at the various restaurants in the resort. We had a couples massage at the spa located at the top of the resort with a mesmerizing view of the sea from the top of the mountain. Three perfect nights of rest in which we did not leave the amazing resort.

Can’t find a words to describe how excited we are about this resort! From the moment we arrived , wonderful staff made us feel like a celebrity! Beautiful nature, delicious food, amazing villa and views over the ocean, private beach ( it’s not actually private but felt empty) , soft white sand - I can’t find even one fault! I’ve stayed few years ago in Four seasons Bora Bora, so impressive too, I didn’t expect the Seychelles sister could reach that level - but I was wrong. This hotel is level up compared to Bora Bora because of stuff/ services. We always had problems in Bora Bora with buggy- that’s why I initially doubt our top hill location. Here in Seychelles the maximum waiting time for buggy was 5 minutes… It’s a big resort , but you can rely on buggy service and stay in highest point- will be no problem with moving between the facilities… Another detail I must mention is the price. Yes it’s high but. We arrived to check in at 8:00 AM . Ok we said, we wait on the beach till afternoon, as official check in time is 3 PM. To our surprise, our villa was ready, and we were offered the breakfast- ALL FREE OF CHARGE! On our last day we wouldn’t have plane back to Dubai till midnight- we were offered extremely good discount for late check out! Honestly- I felt like I should have paid more…. We were so impressed by everything, attention to every small detail, genuinely welcoming attentive people, sorry I didn’t keep any of staff names , but want to say special thanks and big Bravo to each one of them! Thank you Four seasons Seychelles Mahe- we will be back!

Four Seasons Seychelles is a stunning property with beautiful scenery and attentive service throughout the stay. Overall, the experience was wonderful — until the very end.||What left me disappointed was the billing process upon check-out. Throughout my stay, I signed daily bills where taxes were already clearly included — for example, a 100 EUR meal would show a total of around 120 EUR with taxes, which I found perfectly fair.||However, at check-out, I was surprised to see that taxes were added again to the total room charges, resulting in me paying over 1,000 EUR in extra taxes I had technically already paid. This was never communicated in advance, and it felt misleading. I believe a place of this level should be fully transparent with billing — especially when encouraging guests to charge everything to the room.||It’s unfortunate to end an otherwise beautiful stay on such a note.
