"Four Winters is a London-based ice cream shop that creates custom flavors by transforming fresh ingredients into a liquid nitrogen scoop. The company made its name by making custom order ice cream from -196 degree liquid nitrogen, where fresh ingredients are flash frozen into a liquid base. The flavors plans are simple: Four Winters uses the seasons of the year for inspiration. Founded in 2014, Four Winters opened its first London shop in 2016 with chairman Omar Alkhawaja and CEO Zeid Zabian at the helm. The Los Angeles store is the first in North America, located on West Third Street." - Mona Holmes

Good ice cream. Very very sweet, so if you love sugar come here. They have around 8 predefined ice cream bowls but you can also make your own. Unfortunately they only have 4 or 5 different ice cream flavors, so not too many choices regarding that.

My boyfriend and I chanced upon this gem on our brief visit to LA, and we couldn’t be happier. The exterior and interior of the store is cosy and minimalistic. The ice cream is fresh and made-to-order right in front of your eyes, and the result is colder, creamier and so much more delicious than your typical scooped ice cream. The toppings (also mostly baked in house) and their sauce combos are divine. We went there on our last two nights before returning to Toronto, and our favourite flavour was the Cereal Crunch. Just thinking of it makes my mouth water. If we had stayed longer, we definitely would’ve returned again and again, and tried more flavours.

Well the concept is all the Rave I guess. The flavor of the ice cream was missing, bland is all it was. It needed the sauces and flavor toppings to make it edible. The texture was greasy, kind of like if you had Lip balm or Vaseline on your lips (ate or used a spoon, and you can feel the emollient on the spoon after?) Kind of like that, is the only way I can describe it (mind you, I had nothing on my lips) cleared my palate too. Anyway to watch the liquid Nitrogen process and hear the machine roar was about the Highlight. The portion was healthy and noteworthy, the Sorbet was more flavorful than the Ice cream (the Presentation was lovely). Again the ice cream just tasted like Milk as opposed to vanilla. They dressed it up with toppings. The Place itself was Bright, Open and spacious kinda trendy. Priced fair for the portions it seemed, just not as good as say: Paradis ice cream, Carmela's (across the street) or Gelato (not everyone's) please re-open conGELATO! Would I return, probably not given the many other options in Southern California. A solid 3 Star offering almost 4 Stars to be fair!

4/5 Quality of Food 4/5 Quantity of Food 5/5 Service 4/5 Value (Price to Food + Service) Decent ice cream. I ordered the Knafeh and while I really enjoyed the flavors the texture left much to be desired. The texture of the ice cream is not like that of traditional ice cream, it's not as creamy and a bit more watery. This will come down to personal preference but I like traditionally made ice cream over liquid nitrogen.

The ice cream is so tasty! I happened to get a vegan one so it wasn't as creamy as the ones my coworkers got. You also get a good portion size for the price. I've had homemade ice cream where it's the same price, but half the quantity.

We were intrigued by the place because of the signage and name, and were further pulled in by the fact it was nitrogen based ice cream made to order. We've had experiences with similar places and thought this was going to be the same. It is not. This place serves a layered, decadent, creative piece of ice cream art that was surprising as much as it was delectable. We ordered the seasonal strawberries and cream and it was basically a powdered puff of vanilla ice cream over a strawberry type of jam, topped with an ice cream that bordered on frozen whipped cream consistency to create the strawberry and cream effect. The mini size was plenty enough and truly delicious. The Pina colada flavor is for coconut lovers and honestly did not taste much like a pina colada but rather vanilla ice cream with some pineapple infusion and coconut heavy. Will definitely come back though.
