5 stars If you’re looking for a place to stuff your face with smoky, juicy BBQ and not cry when the check comes—this is it. I walked in hungry and left in a food coma, smiling like I just made a life decision my therapist would actually approve of. Pulled pork? Melted in my mouth like it had been emotionally preparing for that moment its whole life. Ribs? Falling off the bone like they just gave up. And the mac and cheese—don’t even get me started. Creamy, cheesy, probably not approved by my cardiologist, but 100% approved by my taste buds. Drinks were on point too. I had espresso martini and it slapped. Not too sweet, not too strong, just right. Goldilocks would’ve chugged it. Vibe was chill. Music good, staff friendly, no weird sticky tables. Price? Totally fair. Like, “wait, that’s it?” kind of fair. Would I go back? Absolutely. I might even bring a date to show I have great taste in food and life choices.

We struck gold with this local BBQ joint! Our group of 5 were recommended to take on the Lake Tahoe Platter, and boy did it not disappoint. The ribs and pulled pork were the main highlight, but everything else that accompanied the meats were incredible. I can’t recommend enough to come try their ribs - they are perfectly tender and full of flavor. No wonder they have so many trophies!

Laid back spot with excellent BBQ. The ribs I had were top notch! Both my husband and I enjoyed big time. Sides were good too, especially the Mac and cheese. I’m pretty snobby about my Mac and cheese, being from the South, but I was quite impressed! Like really impressed. Highly recommend for dinner or breakfast!! We will be back! Great service too!

Stayed within walking distance & was pleasantly surprised to find the Fox & Hound. We had breakfast here twice & an amazing smoked BBQ dinner!

After returning to Fox & Hound for a few years I can attest that the Barbecue is far and away the best thing on the menu. While the chicken sandwich was good, the ribs, tri-tip and Mac n Cheese are the true standouts. A very good Barbecue/sports bar nonetheless!

My wife found this place while looking for different eateries when we were up in Lake Tahoe. We decided to come check it out on our 6th day (8/8/24) in town. The place is tucked away up the hill near the Ridge Resort which makes for a neat little drive there from Hwy 50 then 207. The dining area is relatively small. There’s a bar with seating around that also has slot/poker machines for those inclined to dry their luck. There are TV’s tuned to sport events for entertainment. We were able to get a table right away. Our server was great. She was very nice and gave us the space and time to decide on our meal. Our food arrived within about 15 minutes from the kitchen after ordering. All were neatly put together and well presented. My burger was good but nothing exceptional or exciting. I’ve had better burgers elsewhere. It was under seasoned and didn’t come across as a premium burger for the price. The tri-tip tacos were excellent and very yummy. The pepperoni pizza turned out great and was also very yummy. The Tri-tip plate was also very good. The pieces of BBQ tri-tip were delicious. The cheesesteak sandwich was also very good. So how did Fox and Hound do? Atmosphere 5/5. Food 4.75/5. Service 5/5. Value to Price Ratio 4.75/5. Overall Experience 4.5/5. Fox & Hound was a good place to grab a bite to eat. If returning, I would opt for the Tri-tip plate or tri-tip tacos. The burgers came with a premium price but didn’t have the premium taste. That’s something to consider. Great place! A little pricey but we'll deserved. I split some fried pickles and the pulled pork BBQ Nachos with my partner. Service was impeccable. I thought there could be more pulled pork but I also didn't run out of chips so I think they chose a good balance. Next time I'm having the full BBQ spread.

Have been coming here sporadically for years. Always come back here when I’m in Tahoe because the food is so great! The ribs are exceptional, cooked to perfection, always tender and delicious. The sides are also good, but everything takes second place to the ribs! Also they have the most amazing bloody Mary’s! I have only been there at lunchtime so can’t properly evaluate the atmosphere-could never go in the evening(elders don’t particularly like to drive at night!) Anyway, the food here is great! We ate lunch here and then took a full rack of ribs home for later-YUMMY!!

Don and I came here on 2 recent occasions for a mid-afternoon lunch after several hours of Heavenly skiing. We started and ended our ski day at the nearby Boulder Lodge, of which getting to the Fox & Hound from there was really easy. As it was mid-week, the place was maybe half full both times. And getting back down the Kingsbury towards Genoa was a straight shot. Considering the number of reviews for the Fox & Hound, my guess is that this place is also convenient as an after ski place or if you just happen to be staying at the multiple lodging opportunities up here. I did feel a bit out of place as my Carson Valley Douglas County is residential and relatively flat and high desert, while up here in Stateline Douglas County is a resort vibe in an Alpine environment. And of course, there's casino gambling offered in both areas. The first Lunch was pulled chicken and fries for me, a burger and fries for Don, and beer all around. It was definitely more than enough food, so when Day 2 came around, we split a chicken quesadilla. Perhaps our tasty refreshments went down too quickly for these 2 hungry (and relatively exhausted/sore) OG (Old Guy) skiers, but the chance to relax, chat, and reflect made both outings a good one. I thought that the menu pricing was a little on the high side, and that speed from the Kitchen lagged a bit. But this was one of those times that we weren't in a hurry and appreciated the overall happy vibe and friendly service of the Fox and Hound. I'm sure I'll be back after another ski day.

Great food, beer and location. I rented my ski stuff next door so that when I returned my skis, I knew I could chill with a beer and pizza. I ordered my pizza when we were about 15 minutes away and it was hot and ready when we got there. Great location, food and beer. The owner seems to care a lot judging by his replies via YELP.

What in the horrible desserts... We ordered a lemon raspberry cake and a supposed mud pie. The mud pie had zero flavor because it was so frost bitten. The whipped cream or whatever it was still had ice crystals as well as the rest of it. Not even edible. These had to be frozen for a long while. The lemon raspberry thing... just don't. Just as bad as the mud pie. No thanks!

Out and about exploring our new 'hood, we came across Fox & Hound on Yelp. We started off with the Smokehouse Bloody Mary, which is mixed with some of their house bbq sauce. Loved the crunchy bacon strip and the drink itself was just the right amount of spicy. The two of us shared the rib and meat combo with the tri tip. It comes with two sides and we got the onion rings and added a Caesar salad for $1 to round out the meal. We were impressed! Good smoky flavor on both meats. The ribs were fall off the bone, the tri tip was tender, the onion rings were bomb. The portions were generous, we even had leftovers. They have three sauces: mild, western Carolina and hot. We liked the hot the best which wasn't very hot and had a touch of sweetness. Will be back to try the other items on the menu!

Jason was our server twice now! He's always been friendly and attentive. Last time we had the best burgers and this time we got chicken and pizza. The food was so good and portions were just right. I love that this place is open late and average price for Tahoe area. It's a cute casual bbq food and bar with great food and we'll be back.

I stayed up at The Ridge during the American Century Championship held at Edgewood Lake Tahoe. Food: Had dinner 2x during my stay in Lake Tahoe. First night was Teriyaki wings and. The Works pizza. Neither of the 2 disappointed. The wings were piping hot coming out w great flavor AND a pizza w everything on it...how could you go wrong. Crust had just the right amount of crisp and overall the pizza was NOT covered w sauce Night #2's dinner was St Louis Pork Ribs w a side of chili and x-crispy tater tots. Tonight was very busy and I was not in any rush. Ribs were tasty and had the right amount of smoke....definitely an Award winner!!!Loved their chili... Ambiance: Being on the Nevada side, the bar is reserved for those who want to gamble, enjoy a cocktail and food. I sat at a high top which was perfect even though I took up a table for 4. Friday night, they are busy...be ready for at least a 20 minute wait I will definitely stop back in and try their breakfast menu!!

A steady local hangout with pretty good bar food and great ambiance. Our favorite bartender is Eric, but most of them are nice. Best dish - fried pickles, hands down. The burgers are good too! I want to like the wings but they're one of the things they tend to fry pretty hard. The ice cream cake is delicious. We find it a little expensive, but everything in Tahoe is, and with the F&H at least we know we'll get good value for our money. The bar slots are a fun way to pass the time.

From the outside silent chill in the wintertime you'd never know that inside is a bustling warm cozy dining space, complete with video poker lol. We had a late lunch after sledding behind Tramway Market, I've always driven by and was curious about this spot. It was busy at 2 in the afternoon. Service was brisk but still friendly, they were swamped I guess. Hot chocolate hit the spot, I had the ribs. Hubby had a burger, our friends had the soup of the day and wings. Everyone enjoyed their food, no complaints! I liked the green bean side I got with the rib plate, super garlicky buttery with some bacon. We'd come back!

This is my favorite BBQ place in the Tahoe Reno area! The meat smoker sits directly in front of the restaurant and beckons you in when you smell it. We love coming here with friends since they have BBQ platters that can serve a crowd. We got one this time that served seven of us. It included ribs, chicken, chopped pork, sausage and multiple sides such as bacon mac and cheese, green beans, and corn bread muffin, to name just a few. We even got a couple of appetizer baskets of dry rub chicken wings. Sooo good! Lastly, you can't go wrong if you start off with the Campfire Margarita! The smokey agave nectar and the smoked salt are what transform this margarita and put it over the top!

As a last minute decision, we stopped in for a drink and decided to get a pizza. We got the veggie pesto pizza. It was good. Our service was excellent. Would definitely go back. Really close to our Worldmark resort which was nice.

This is a great go-to restaurant if you are skiing the Nevada side and parked at Stagecoach or Boulder Lodge OR if you are doing the hike near the summit when its not ski season. The ribs are DEELISH! And their signature cocktails (e.g., margarita) are also tasty. If you get a sandwich, the tater tots and fries are must-haves. I like all things pork (ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, combo platter) at Fox & Hound. If you have a large party, they have this monster of a plate of their best dishes and sides. It's worth getting even just for the pictures.

We had the combo platter of ribs, chicken, sausage, brisket, and tri tip served with cole slaw, potato salad, mac & cheese, green beans and corn muffins. It was all very good We sat outside on the back patio that has a gorgeous view. The service was excellent. Oh and BBQ Bloody Mary's were awesome!!!

Food (taco salad with pulled pork and chicken bbq sandwich), was good. The taco salad had tons of smoked pulled pork, dressing was very good. Service was good and like the atmosphere. Worth going too!

A quick little stop before heading towards Kirkwood. Found this on Google Maps and the drive there from Carson City near the perimeter of Tahoe looked enticing. SO glad I stopped by. Ordered their "award winning ribs" and it did not disappoint. The meat was so tender and fell off the bones. The bbq sauce was the perfect balance of sweet with the tiniest kick to your tongue. Also, the sole slaw and potato salad were fantastic pairs. Couldn't finish it so brought the leftovers to my boyfriend. Even after being reheated at home, he enjoyed it, especially the potato salad. Will definitely recommend and visit this place in the future. Oh! And service was great. Was helped by some young-ish fella. Very attentive.

Came for breakfast very clean restaurant very nice atmosphere. The food was really good, and the prices were awesomely affordable. I had eggs and sausage and they were very tasty. I hope to be back soon as I bet this place is a lot of fun later in the day when folks come for supper and to watch a game. There were TV's everywhere.

Really a ton of food. Was able to squeeze in after a slight wait for our party of 4. Got beers and apps came out with enough space for food, coming out a reasonable time later. Will update this review lil later tho. I'm full! Def would recommend & the patio was a-ma-zing this time of year.

Part time resident of the Tahoe area and have to fit a trip into the Fox on every trip. Not only is the food delicious but the staff is hard working at all times. Eric is always friendly with a smile and making sure your drink is full when empty. Most of the staff has been there for years which tells you they enjoy their job and the business. They have a nice selection of beer including a couple local crafts and a beer of the month. Breakfast is good and the BBQ is the hit as you can see it being cooked daily outside, and smell it when pulling in. They also offer video poker at the bar, although the paytables aren't the best, they always have a promotion or two going on and a high hand of the day.

We were pleasantly surprised how fantastic the salad was. We have visited this area several times over the years and never actually stopped in because we thought it was a little bit more of a bar. The staff is super nice and the food is delicious! They do have really great drinks too. it started to get a little bit loud towards the end of our visit...but the view is beautiful and and everyone was having a good time. It was happy noisy!

Came with the family and not only where they super fast with their service but the food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be back when we're in South Lake Tahoe again!

Service is usually bad here but the worst service i've experienced in a while was yesterday. Blonde waitress is very unwelcoming and hates her job. Us customers are the problem.. It was an embarrassment to bring my visiting friends here to grab breakfast. Never again.

Food and drinks were great. The bartender continued to check on us and made sure we had drinks at all times. Chill atmosphere. Would definitely recommend the loaded tots.

One of our birthday guy requested for BBQ while our ski trip in Lake Tahoe so we found out this place with good reviews on Yelp and would love to try it. This place not too far from South Lake Tahoe and not even 10 mis drive from Stateline. Step in around 7:30 pm and so crowded inside. Check-in with host and she said the wait time is about 45 mins for the party of 6 adults and 2 kids. Looks inside still have a few tables that available and also a few more unclean tables. Decided to wait because light snow is falling outside. Just about next 20 mins got the high table and we're so happy with that. Foods were great, ribs were amazing and moreover that is our server. He is so nice and attentive. Reasonable price and worth the wait. Definitely be back!!

This place is delicious ! Great flavor/ fun atmosphere/fair pricing ! We will be back when we come to town .

Went back the very next night! Got the all meat pizza and we loved it! And when we walked in the guy working there remembered what my husband liked to drink and as soon as we sat down he said he would get it for him. Nice to feel like you matter.

Everything just tastes so darn good, got myself a personal pizza and it was AMAZING! Would recommend for families to come here when visiting

The food at this grill shop is decent, but what really stood out was the warm and super helpful service. The staff made us feel welcome and went above and beyond, making for a wonderful dining experience. We'll definitely be back! Plus, it's conveniently close to the resort.

Great BBQ and Pizza location has a captive active for up in the Tahoe Village. The pig burger is my favorite a must try.

We were somewhat snowed in at the Wyndham hotel and went over to their restaurant because they were the only ones we could get to without trying to go down the hill. It was warm and we had good food and drinks and great service. It was nice to get out of our room for a little while.

Nothing really stood out about this spot. Pulled pork nachos were ok. The pork wasn't "pulled" well so there were a couple large chunks that had to be cut up. Mac&cheese was so-so. Staff was stand-offish. The location was convenient but they didn't start serving breakfast until 8:30.

Fox and Hound has become a staple for us when visiting South Lake Tahoe or Nevada area. We come at least once every time we are here. Fun vibes, video gambling, yummy drinks and friendly service. The food is good but pretty average, don't expect 5 star cuisine, it's hot yummy and decent food worth the price. We always come in starving and are always happy enough with our choices. We mostly come for the fun environment. I recently had a make your own personal pizza and it was delicious!

This bbq spot has all the potential to be a five star, however I think we're being overly generous with four. Food was decent but had been sitting out and was cold upon arrival. Caesar was lackluster and I'm betting the dressing was from a bottle of which there was nearly none in the salad literally so we had to ask for a side. The real issue is that we arrived at 6:30pm thinking we beat the dinner rush - most tables were done eating early dinner and we sat right down. We were all excited until we waited 15 minutes with no one stopping by our table only to see the waitress go over to the six top seated five minutes after us and take their order before making the stop by our table. Food came out over 45 mins later with our appetizer salad arriving alongside our cold bbq rib and chicken platter. When I say cold - I mean the fries hadn't been anywhere near a fryer nor heat lamp anytime near when they arrived. Bbq sauces are good, menu is a lot of fun and many amazing choices but given we didn't see any food other than a couple of DoorDash orders come from the kitchen for roughly an hour we have no idea what the kitchen was doing! Isn't bbq smoked before the dinner shift? I will say our waitress was sweet when she did come by and overall staff seemed nice, but my daughter and I decided we've got to pass on this joint in the future, we just don't have the patience and honestly can't imagine arriving during a rush.

Excellent food & service! Large portions enough to share. Third time here and this dinner is the real thing. I had the pulled-pork eggs Benedict amazing. My husband had the cinnamon roll pancakes and the same review excellent! They're dog friendly too!

The food is absolutely delicious. Our party had the pulled pork nachos, half chicken entree, and pulled pork sandwich. The food is great and the service was wonderful as well. The price is a tad high for my norm but it was worth it as a treat.

We hadn't been here in awhile but it did not disappoint. The service was pretty spotty which is the reason for the four stars. But the FOOD was AMAZINGLY delicious. Pulled pork, Mac and cheese, corn bread, nachos, tots all of it was fresh and hot. We sat outside and enjoyed the scenery so the service taking awhile didn't bother us.

We were lodging on the North Side of Heavenly and wanted to catch breakfast on our way out. The redolent aroma of BBQ caught our scent and led us here. We sat outside and took in the beautiful eastern view of the Sierra Mountains. We devoured a delicious Chorizo Scramble and BBQ Breakfast Skillet.

Everything was delicious. But the pulled pork was by far our favorite. Hidden gem you don't want to miss!!

A hidden local gem and fave place to visit off the normal tourist routes in Tahoe! We are pretty picky pizza eaters and we enjoyed our last visit so much we even bought merchandise.

The ribs were great, not dry at all but very juicy and flavorful. The corn bread is nothing to write home about but the meat is phenomenal. Friendly, fast service and great views if you're dining in.

We have gone to the Fox and Hound many times over the past 15 years as it is the closest restaurant to The Ridge where they are a recommended restaurant. The food has always been good - we have enjoyed their BBQ and Pizza! Tonight for the first time we ordered online for pickup - website is not well laid out and ordered 2 pizzas and did not notice that further down on the list is where the larger size was listed. When we arrived to pick-up the order and took it home - while it was tasty the small pizza is very tiny and one was missing. After alerting the owner to the issues he took steps above and beyond to make it right! We will be back and not just because it is close! Thank you

The burrito was great but the servers were consistently complaining to other guests about us. We had the largest group, ordering the most, and they were understaffed for the amount of guests that were in there. However, there were several times the server in the green shirt made remarks to other guests about us ordering mocking our voices talking about how we we left our seats. There were a few of us who went to the bar to play keno and we wanted to order drinks at the bar -- like a normal person... She was nice to our face but very rude behind our backs. Our group also had the only people of color in the building and it was clear there usually isn't much diversity in this bar on a regular basis. Other white guests were getting served at the bar but not us. All in all a bad experience. Do not recommend to anyone. The breakfast burrito was fire so shoutout to the kitchen staff, but booooooo to the servers.

Service is not the specialty here. Been waiting for someone to take our order for over 15 minutes and nothing. 4 gentleman seated at the bar drinking at 10:45pm on a Saturday night...just ridiculous. Think we're going to walk on this joint. Sad, because it looked like it had a decent menu. Was hungry and looking for a decent meal and all we got was a table and 2 glasses of water!

Smaller than I thought upon walking in. But this location came highly recommend. The bathroom is scary. The music is cool. Menu is large. I'm having a house salad, and BBQ pizza vegetarian. My husband is having cauliflower pizza. Drinks came quickly. Prompt to take our order. I see allot of trophy above door. BBQ trophies. I see lots of first and second place. (Sorry no meat for me today so I couldn't say how it was, but it smells darn good. I also see they have a signature BBQ sauce you can buy. Waited a fair amount of time and still no salad. I'm starting to feel like all my food is going to come out at the same time. I hate that.... I definitely feel like I should have had a salad by now. Maybe 10-15min of wait but the salad came before the pizza!!! It looks greatly good too! Good ranch. Pizzas came quickly after. The personal pizza is tiny. I should have got the cauliflower too. Which is a perfect size to eat and have a few pieces left over or to share. They do not have blue cheese crumble. So I was a little bummed but my pizza is tasty. Both are pretty good intact. The salad is ok. Our bill was pretty pricey. Honestly I feel the quality vs price was not equal. I feel I paid a pit too much for 2 Pizzas and a salad. Both personal sized, about $70. Don't get me wrong it's not the amount. I'm all about spending more if it's of great quality. It just didn't quite feel right. The food was good and We would return.

Overheard waitress complaining about our table to her regulars at the bar. She actively ignored us then would rudely respond when asked a question, at one point someone in our party wanted another drink and she told her to "have a seat." And stormed off. Towards the end she tried To double charge for our bill and it felt as if we were being taken advantage of. We were a very diverse group and overall thought maybe she's having a bad day and could ignore her rudeness but she must have forgot we were right in front of her at the bar as she's talking crap about us to her regulars AND PEOPLE IN OUR GROUP. Felt very unwelcome. Horrible service. After going through the reviews I'm clearly not the only one who has had a similar experience and it seems like this place doesn't care enough to make the right staffing changes . As someone who works in the industry this is type of service is embarrassing...

A nice eatery with a sports bar vibe up on the hill by several resorts that offers a variety of delicious food and great service. If you are up to the challenge you can try and eat a lot of everything on the menu in under 60 minutes for the meal to be free and a t-shirt or you can just pay for a smaller meal and hope someone tries the challenge so you can watch! Plenty of televisions to watch whatever games are on. Like most places like this it can get loud so you might have to speak louder for those in your group to hear.

Was in town for my son's soccer tournament and we ate here a couple of times, once for dinner and once for breakfast. Happy with both experiences! Tri tip dinner was tasty and personal cheese pizza for the kiddo was solid. Breakfast pancakes are huge and fluffy! Friendly and efficient customer service. Would recommend if you're in the area!

Our first time in Fox and Hound and we are thrilled ! The food is great , smoke rib is delicious and the Tri Tip is so tender ! Tri Tip Salad is amazing . This is a perfect way to celebrate our birthday together Yes! We are coming back !

Went in for breakfast and had the juevos rancheros with chorizo and a Bloody Mary. It was phenomenal and the service was outstanding. I am definitely returning here

The first time my friends and I went the food was great and the service was quick! The second time was like one of those disaster customer service stories you watch on Tik Tok. First off my friend didn't bring his ID (we were up the mountain so it was less than 5 minutes to get it) and the waitress, Britney, said the snarkiest comment, "I guess you should start bringing your ID with you everywhere you go then." This comment threw our whole table off... she was super unprofessional for no reason. Secondly my other friend has celiac (meaning she is Gluten Free and cannot have any or she will get extremely sick and potentially die). She asked Britney what was Gluten Free on the menu, Britney said the wings were. The food comes out, my friend takes a bite of the chicken and before swallowing she noticed the menu said "chicken is fried with everything else", which means it's fried with the breaded pickles and chicken wings!!! After that I go up to the bar and ask for a manager. The bartender (I Didn't catch his name, but he had dirty blonde hair) said no and then I told him the situation and in front of me he whispered to Britney "these fucking people are complaining about gluten". Honestly both servers should be fired, but instead they get this 1 star review. I would definitely NEVER recommend this place
