Foxtrot ceased operations three months ago when the chain abruptly closed 33 locations across Chicago, Austin, Dallas, and the Washington, D.C. area; the company began as an app focused on liquor delivery and evolved into an upscale bodega known for trendy snacks, an espresso bar, and beer and wine for on-site consumption. The takeover is led by the chain’s founder, Mike LaVitola, who is chairman of the new Foxtrot entity; Further Point Enterprises placed the sole $2.2 million bid on Foxtrot’s Chicago assets at a May auction.
