Where To Get Food And Supplies When It’s Too Cold Out To Run A Bunch Of Errands - Chicago - The Infatuation

"There are a few Foxtrot Markets around town, and most of them focus on upscale groceries, booze, and things like $30 candles. But the one in Old Town serves breakfast all-day too, with things like bagel sandwiches and spicy chicken biscuits. It’s the perfect stop when you need a quick bite to go along with a pint of Jeni’s, a bottle of Chardonnay, and compostable garbage bags." - josh barnett

Foxtrot Won’t Reopen Locations on Armitage and Southport | Eater Chicago

"An upscale corner-store chain known for trendy snacks and merchandise sourced from Chicago’s restaurant community, it stocked local products such as specialty ice cream brands and in one location shared space with Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. The chain suddenly closed in April, leaving unpaid vendor bills and prompting worker lawsuits alleging inadequate closure notice and unpaid wages. The founder, Mike LaVitola, who was not running the prior parent company when operations ceased, is leading a reboot under a newly formed entity backed by an investment fund that purchased the assets at auction for $2.2 million; he has been working to reestablish vendor relationships and plans to reopen roughly 15 stores (mostly in Chicago and some in Austin). Liquor-license filings indicate planned reopenings in Old Town, Fulton Market, Wicker Park and the Gold Coast, though two North Side locations at 900 W. Armitage Avenue and 3334 N. Southport Avenue will not be part of the comeback plan." - Ashok Selvam

Where to Try CBD-Infused Food and Drinks in Chicago | Eater Chicago

"The Foxtrot chain has locations across Chicago’s North Side. They’re convenient stores, offering delivery of alcohol and other items, and some locations have bars and food. At the Lakeview location on Southport and the River North location at Wells and Hubbard, customers can order a CBD highball. CBD is also offered as an add-on for other drinks. The chain has plans for more CBD drinks in the future, including a slushie at the Lincoln Park location’s pick-up window." - Naomi Waxman

Foxtrot Coffee Market is more than just a coffee shop — it’s a full experience. Whether you’re stopping by for your morning latte or browsing their curated selection of snacks, wines, and local goods, this place always delivers. The coffee is consistently excellent — smooth, rich, and expertly made. The baristas are friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere is modern yet cozy, with plenty of spots to work or catch up with a friend. One of the things I love most is the convenience: it’s both a café and a mini-market, so you can grab a quick bite, pick up a bottle of wine, or treat yourself to some premium chocolate or pantry items. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality coffee, a great vibe, and something a little different from your usual coffee chain experience.

Glad to see it back! Great curated snack and drink selection with lots of healthy, trendy, and fun picks. Seating is limited but definitely exists. They have seats lining the windows which is fun to look out at or people watch. A chill, quick-stop vibe perfect for grabbing something on the go or having a casual sip. They have a barista for coffee and other beverages too.

This newest location does not disappoint! I came here to work in the afternoon and had the Carla sandwich for lunch with a lavender lemonade drink and both were delish! Lots of seating and fast WiFi if you need a break from the home office. Only wish the other locations had this sandwich service so I didnt have to travel over here to get it 😂!

Hot take: the salmon toast is outta this world delish. The tacos are OK. Get the lavender flavoring in your latte, you won’t regret it.

Was $9 for a normal sized dirty chai latte. Was a bit dirty too. Not surprised they are struggling.

The breakfast sandwich was delicious and the latte stayed cold but not watered down like some places that put tons of ice in. I will definitely be back for that sandwich 😋
