We walked in here after wine and antipasto from Della's and it is fantastic! I think it has some connections to Della's as they had some of the wines from their menu. Margie provided a fantastic experience and was welcoming, knowledgeable, and earnest in explanation and hitting our price points. She also resolved a minor hitch we had at Della's. Highly recommend Frankly Wines and many kudos to Margie.

This place was “the unexpectedly great” not on the itinerary New York experience. The two super cool guys engaging with customers was a customer service masterclass. Thanks for swapping our long gins for cold ones 🥰.

Went here for the first time when visiting family. What a great shop with a wonderful selection of wine. They are very helpful and know the nuances of each and every bottle they sell.

Awesome store with helpful people. Have some really great spirits in there and have always been happy with their recommendations. I got a really nice whiskey and rum from here last time.

I went to this quaint store to buy a bottle of wine as a gift for my brother. There was very limited selection but some excellent unique wines. The owner suggested Bandol wine which was her own fav too! It was reasonably priced.,, I tried the wine the same night after following her detailed recommendations of airing it for 30 min or so... I have to say it was one of the best wines I have had in a long time!!!!! I will be buying that wine a lot, if I can find it in my neck of the woods on the west coast.., otherwise she is just gonna have to ship it to me :-))

I LOVE this place. I repeat, I LOVE this place. Great selection of wines/liquors, and it's really all I need to spend some time exploring and learning about wines that I don't normally expect to see. The staff is great, and always happy to help.

We were on our way to the metro to meet some friends and I realized this wine shop was on our way. I really wanted to stop by because I read online that they sold organic and natural wines. My friends and I had a great time browsing the store. The person who helped me was extremely kind. She gave me a few suggestions for a refreshing summer wine and we left the store with a cava. I appreciated that they sold other things besides wine. The wines also had little tags with descriptions which were cute. I'd recommend checking this wine shop out.

I need to amend my review now that I have more data. I'm a fan of Della's, their newly opened wine bar next door, and after having an amazing glass of orange wine there I popped over to Frankly's to buy the full bottle. Since then, every wine I've scanned here on Vivino has been (a) highly rated (nothing below a 3.9) and (b) being sold at Frankly for lower than the average price on Vivino, sometimes MUCH lower.

Stopped in on are way walking to Century 21 to do a little shopping, for the Chicago people reading this, C21 is not the real estate brokerage. Not only did they offer help in directions as we left the store, they inquired if we needed help in the store with any selections. Unfortunately, a purchase then would have left us carrying the wine around for the afternoon. They do deliver but not all the way up to where we were staying. They did have several bottles that I would've liked to purchase, maybe next time in town I can make this a stop on my way back as they're located close to the subway, hey but isn't everything in NYC. Prices across the board along with a quality selection, 20$ on up will get you a real nice bottle. I wish they had a location up north. Definitely going to try to make it back, if you're in the area it's worth the stop in.

What a little gem of a find. This whole in the wall is a breath of fresh air. Unlike a typical liquor store with wine, this shop has a simple, light decor, with shelves and every bottle is tagged individually. That is work and love. The selection is wide from different countries, and all reasonably priced, for such a tiny shop, and in the middle of the store there is an iced filled tin bucket with a bottle of wine in it for tasting. The owner is this nice young lady from Chicago who moved to NYC 14 years ago, and she is a delight to deal with. Very helpful in talking about either what she has ready to taste, or about any wine in store. If in TriBeCa, and want a pleasant wine purchasing experience, go here.

I really like this place. Its my neighborhood go to shop. Slightly more expensive by a dollar or so than Astor BUT its around the corner and the folks there know their stuff. Inside and out. I am not a wine drinker but have been building a bar for cocktails and these guys have helped out. Its also a nice looking shop and welcoming.

The employee here was extremely rude and had poor customer service. Please do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

I hate to say this about a local small business, but after many tries I am convinced that tag lines and stories matter more to them than does the quality or value of the product. They carry mostly niche stuff, mark it up, then tell a good story, but for an educated consumer this just doesn't work. They aren't even marketing some bottles accurately. Any wine purveyor that can tell me a story about the castle in the Dolomites where the wine aged yet doesn't know the varietal is not worth talking to. Vintry Fine Wines and Chambers St Wines and New York Vintners all within a few blocks.

The review trends are accurate here, folks; the staff at Frankly Wines are about as friendly, helpful, and knowledgable as it comes. On the hunt for a case of wine that'd accommodate a variety of palates, and looking at a very particular price point, they were able to point me towards a fantastic red blend that not only tasted great, but wasn't a hard hit on the wallet either. And for such a small store, I was surprised they had any room to store more than a couple bottles of each varietal, however they were able to uncover an entire case, which was fantastic. With a mix of great options between wines and spirits at many different price tiers, I could see myself coming here habitually for my boozing needs.

SUPER CUTE! My friend and I stopped in to get a gift. The owner is really sweet and knowledgeable. The prices are fair and the selection is good for a small shop.

In NYC, I'm probably your average wine buyer. I know a lot about wine and I drink a lot of wine. But I tend to see the same wines over and over at boutique shops. Not so much at Frankly! Liz Nicholson (who encouraged me to try off the beaten path things at Maialino and Marea before coming to the retail game) always has ideas for me at any price point. I find grapes I know from regions I don't and interesting things I haven't seen before. She also stocks some of my stand by favorites so I can find them if I'm in the mood to revisit and not explore. I don't live in Tribeca, but I travel down to visit Frankly Wines.

This wine store is about a block from our B&B. Alan noticed it on his morning walk. Tonight we had dinner at the home of our sister-in-law, the widow of Alan's oldest brother. We wanted to bring a bottle of wine. I walked over to Frankly Wines to have a look at what was available. My eye was caught by an Argentine Malbec. The man who worked there asked if I needed help and I explained what I was looking for. He gave me two alternatives, explaining the differences. He was friendly and helpful. I ended up buying the first bottle of Malbec and it was delicious. I was pleased, as was Bernice. It has been so nice being denizens of this neighborhood and having these wonderful shops and restaurants available w/in easy walking distance.

Popped in Friday night and they were having a tasting for Passover wine. Usually Passover wine sucks but these wines were nice and reasonably priced. Every time I pop in they are having a tasting and I never leave empty handed. Nice selection of whiskeys and wines in a little shop staffed by very friendly people who know a great deal about wine. If you're in the area please check them out.

Christy, the owner, provided the wine for last night's Yelp Colors Me Mine pottery event. She shared a Pinot Grigio from Italy, a rose from Spain and a red from Argentina. All were tasty and delicious. This would be a great place to get wines, especially if you need a recommendation from a caring and knowledgeable owner. Highly recommend.

I don't like to brag but I'm pretty friggin' knowledgeable when it comes to reality TV shows and cheesy love songs from the early 90's. But when it comes to wine, I'm basically one step away from drinking it from a sippy-cup. Which is why it's extra important for me to find a good wine shop when it's my turn to pick the wine. "Um...Do you have a recommendation for a wine?" "Sure! What do you like?" "Um...white and dry? And I'm going to pair it with duck and pork and fish. Is this possible? Oh. It also should be around $15." No, I'm not demanding or hard to please AT ALL. Despite all of my requirements, the brilliant suggestion was spot on and perfect for our BYOB dinner. A nice French something or other with a blue label an no English words other than the name of the importer. In addition to the knowledgeable staff, they also have a fun mystery grab-bag available. For the life of me, I can't remember how much the actual grab bag was but it was definitely less than $20/bottle and both bottles of wine I got were significantly more expensive (one was good while the other was great).

The people at Frankly Wines love wine like I love wine... only they do it better, and they don't drink all of theirs. The owner and her cronies really do just appreciate a good glass of wine or six, and they have selected their inventory based mainly on taste and price. They have wines ranging from about $6 a bottle all the way up to about $120 a bottle. I'm reasonably certain that everyone who works there has had to drink and at least kind of like everything on the shelf at one point or another. If they don't know about a particular wine, they'll steer you to one just as good. Their selection is pulled from all over the world and ranges from the very sweet to the evil, dark, bitter things that I love so much. Ask them about the wine that actually really does taste like chocolate. And the amazing $25 bottle of port. And the prosecco that's better than the other prosecco. They have it, and it's only about $15. Last, they will mix and match cases for you, and they deliver for free anywhere south of Canal St., I believe.

This is a small store, but the owner knows her wine stuff and carries a plethora of cool wines - from the perfect wine for a dinner party to inexpensive weekday wines to the wine-geek wines (a great selection to geek out on). They will also do special orders if you want something that you can't find elsewhere, as I have done. It's the perfect neighborhood wine store!

I'm far from being a wine connoisseur, so when I go in to a store, I'm looking for helpful staff who can help me decide on the perfect bottle. This is exactly the store I've been looking for! The employee here was so friendly and helpful. When I asked for advice on the best bottle of wine in my price range, she was so animated and passionate as she talked about each bottle of wine. Then, she was kind enough to give us a sample of another bottle as we checked out. The store inside is just the right size. Not too large and overwhelming, but plenty of choices and well laid out. Different bottles were on sale and they gift wrap your bottle for free or for $1 if you want the fancier wrap/box. Overall, I'm a fan of this wine shop!

I work in the area and stop by every now and then on my way home. I too am on the "friendly, helpful staff that gives on point recommendations" bandwagon. I got hooked by their Thanksgiving gift bags. The wines never disappointed and were not the "same old same old" but they weren't different just for the sake of being different either.

This has become the wine shop I go to regularly! I love all the staff and the owner, Liz is so knowledgeable and friendly. She has seriously never let me down with any of the wine she's recommended. There's a wide range of wines in different price points. I love love love this place, stop in! You won't be disappointed.

I try not to continue patronizing a store that doesn't adhere to at least several of the following criteria: a) a passion for quality and all of its inherent components; b) a basic friendliness by the staff, along with a willingness and commitment to help their customers find just what they seek; c) a passion for wine tempered by a playful and inclusive attitude when discussing wine; well chosen wines with fair pricing; d) a desire to mix in with the popular, noble varietals a large number of exciting and offbeat selections; e-z) all of the ways you can imagine a smartly run and warmly staffed wine store could operate. You can do no better in this neighborhood as far as many of these elements go. And it is perfectly set up to accommodate the thousands and thousands of us a week who regularly use the PATH train to and from NJ through WTC station. You are in and you are out in a few minutes with a great bottle of wine.

Nice staff but I did not appreciate being recommended crap wine that was not cheap. It was clear from the first sip be that it was a wine that she was trying to get rid of. Nobody drank it at my dinner party and it knocked me out since it was full of sulfites. I understand that they have a job to do but I don't want to live in a world where you can't trust the wine guy at the wine store. I won't be taking any 'expert' advice in the future.

The manager/ owner has literally never let me down with a recommendation from this shop. I trust anything she suggests. She listens to what you crave and then gives you a few decisions allowing you to choose your heaven and trust that I have only gone to heaven with the wine from here. Local and global wines from smaller companies which helps one appreciate it that much more. Wine tasting now and then and its always at least 3 samples. Great business!

LOVE the people here, LOVE the selection, LOVE coming in and exploring on my way home from work. I have picked up some great stuff from here, all based on recommendations from the staff. For NYE, i got a wonderful sparkling wine to ring in 2011. And for a recent dinner party, a wonderful German red that knocked the shoes off all my guests. Highly recommend!

Frankly Wines is a small neighborhood wine shop who's owner is passionate about wine. There are many choices at decent prices and a good variety to choose from. Unfortunately, their passion does not make up for thier lack of expertise. I felt that they had trouble giving recommendations especially when it came to pairing wine with food. NY Vintners, just a few blocks away, was much more knowledgeable and helpful, probably due to their emphasis on education and making wine accessible. Overall not bad if you're just looking for bottles to drink or if you know your wines, but not the best place if you're looking for recommendations for food pairings.

Don't be turned off by how small this place is (and it really is small). How many wines do you really need to choose from anyway? The selection is great and the staff is helpful but also won't hound you as you look (which is especially kind given the space).

Very helpful staff. I've gone a few times and never been disappointed with their recommendations. Prices are standard for NY I'd say.

I wanted to send a condolence gift to a good friend whose father passed away recently. Something that would last longer than flowers, and something that would remind her of her friends' support every time she raised a glass of it. The 12-bottle summer sampler was a perfect fit for this. I can't vouch for the quality of wine just yet, but the customer service has been OUTSTANDING. Because a signature was required, I had to find a new address to ship to. They were very helpful in holding the order until I could get my friend's work address. And the note included with the wine was *beautifully* hand-written. A very nice, personal touch. I plan on using these guys for wine gifts again in the future.

Frankly wines has nice selection of wines from all over - South Africa, Spain, California, etc all the stand bys. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and willing to help!

Found a new wine shop on my way home from work! Super friendly staff and small, but excellent selections of wines from around the world. Prices vary - I bought a Cab for $10.99 and a Port for $18. They also host tastings based on themes and the 2 I tried today (Canadian) were very nice. I will definitely be returning!

This small store benefits from a very hands-on owner. She manages to get some really good bottles into this small shop. My dad is an avid wine lover so it can be tricky to get him good stuff since I am no wine expert. I told Christy, the owner, that he loves Riojas and she asked, "old world or new?" Beats me... So I told her the names of a couple of bottles that he drinks and she was like, "Got it. Give me a couple of days." Then she prepared a beautiful three pack of hand picked Riojas for my pops who, incidentally, loved and recognized them as rare finds! Now me and my wifey come back every so often for a special three pack for gifts or from her specials that she offers sometimes. I think that if you like talking about wine and exploring interesting wines you might not find everywhere, you'll probably enjoy this store, especially if Christy is in!

Great selection from lesser known areas for a great bottle of wine! Christy is super friendly and so knowledgeable, yet down to earth -- so you can find a great wine at any price point. Also started carrying select spirits too!

Frankly Wines is a small neighborhood store, but with a surprisingly good selection for its size. The owner was a former exec at LVMH turned entrepreneur so she really knows her stuff. The store also has some great Southern Hemisphere wines (I'm not an expert, but was very happy with the results a few weeks back!).

A great little wine store. It's a tiny place with a small selection, but it's well curated and they have a good range of wines from $10 to whatever. Really friendly staff, and they'll often have a bottle open for tasting. Definitely recommended.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff really went out of their way following up on a wine order we made through them. The order wasn't that large, but the staff was remarkably responsive and proactive in managing things for us. Will definitely order from them again.

I chose the Frankly Wine 6 month wine sampler as a gift for my Brother and Sister-in-Law. I live far from Brooklyn and it felt like a risk to go with a gift that might be a pain to deliver, and/or a pain to follow up with. So far I really can't say enough about the personal and friendly email exchanges I have had with them. I feel like they will go out of the way to make sure that the gift doesn't turn into a hassle for anyone. I was not expecting the personal touch and really appreciate it. So much so that I am writing the first review I have ever written.

Stopped by during my lunch hour on a Friday afternoon to grab some wine for the office. I absolutely know nothing about wine, but they were really helpful and able to help me out with my purchase. Small place, but tons of selections. Prices range from $8.99- over $70.00!

This is a delightful neighborhood shop with a very friendly staff, frequent spirit tastings, and a good selection of red and white wines from around the globe. Their store is TINY and ironically right next to a shoe repair shop called Frank's (no relation). I really hope they move enough volume to stay in business, and I regularly do my part to ensure that happens.

I came in needing a suggestion and the two staff members there were great! They helped me find a delicious white wine that was fruity and refreshing. I would definitely go back!

My husband and I fell in LOVE with this store when we got stranded in NYC during the recent "thundersnow"-storm. The two people behind the counter seemed to be the owners and were really endearing, plus the wine selection seemed to be unique. We were able to taste a few selections in the store and the bottle we bought was awesome! Thank you!
