"With its distinctive two-story, red brick building next to a parking lot near the corner of Fulton and South Elliot, Frank’s Cocktail Lounge has been a formidable presence in the blocks surrounding Fort Greene Park near downtown Brooklyn. The old-fashioned bar, with its stucco ceiling, lent a sense of bygone normalcy to an area now bristling with condominium towers. It was established by Frank Perkins in 1972, and is currently operated by his sons Terry and Tyrone. But as of April 10, 2020, this neighborhood landmark will be no more, as first reported by East New York News and confirmed by the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce." - Robert Sietsema

Frank's is a Brooklyn treasure. Things you need to know: cheap, cash only, live entertainment, jukebox, red booths, great bartenders, zany regulars, and good times. Oh, and get a good look at the ceiling above the bar...

I love this place! The music & atmosphere was amazing. A group of us went there for an impromptu birthday after party & the house music by Herb Martin was stellar!!! I'd go back for the house music alone. The staff was very attentive & friendly & the crown was really relaxed. No issues. Dress is regular bar clothes & the price was what u would expect. I'd definitely go back!!

This place was really cool. Perfect for many age groups. I went on an open mic night and the vibe was so chill. Sounds system is decent but could be improved. Bathrooms were.. they could be cleaner. I'll be back. I think they let you bring food. Fair amount of seating. Come for cool vibes and mixed crowd. Close to the trains

Cool spot, nothing fancy. Furniture is a little beat up however, you can tell it’s a spot that’s been there for a long time. Great music, strong drinks, cool crowd. Drinks not expensive considering the surrounding area. Will definitely be back

Ended up here for a night cap a random Saturday night, and it was a pretty interesting place. After a certain time they charge a $5 cover on Saturday, but I know that during the week there is no cover. They play pretty decent 90s era hip-hop, R&B, and rap, and there's a dance area after the bar if you want to get down. The clientele is diverse and reflective of Fort Greene in general, and the bartenders are nice. Great for people watching, too.

I was looking for a place to hang out for my husband's 34th birthday and found this place online. I read the reviews and it seemed good. We got there around 9:30, place was a little empty but staff was very welcoming, even ushering us to a private table that wasn't even booked. The waitress catered to us with bringing our drinks over and the bartender was very friendly and polite. There was music playing in the background, but the dj came in and started playing around 11pm. That's when the crowd picked up a bit. He was also very nice, played requested music and had a diverse array of music from old school hip hop and r &b to today's music. We left around 2:30am and everyone in our party had a blast and didn't even want to leave. We danced from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. The place isn't very big, so I'm glad we got there early enough to sort of 'reserve' our own dancing space. There was a bouncer to ensure everyone was playing nice and no cover charge. We will definitely be going back there again!!

I think this is a great neighborhood bar with a Cheers feel! I feel like everyone knows your name there! Great music, friendly people, and great prices for drinks! What more can you ask for? I will definitely return!
