Where To Eat Before Or After A London Gig - London - The Infatuation

"Another go-to option in the extremely conveniently placed Pop Brixton, Franzina Trattoria makes delicious tagliatelle in a load of different sauces. If the days of a burger and a couple of cans on the street are long behind you, then this is the perfect ‘grown-up choice’. It’s reasonably priced, tasty, and has a rather inviting wine list as well." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing

Where To Go When A Hook Up Is Becoming A Thing - London - The Infatuation

"When it comes to finding out if they’re sticking around, you have two options. Invite them to an event that’s taking place in five weeks time and see how they react. Or take them for a chat over a cosy but romantic dinner at Franzina Trattoria. And only one of those options involves you getting to eat squid ink tagliatelle. Inside a converted shipping container in Pop Brixton, this place is intimate enough to have a quiet conversation, original enough to feel like you’ve made an effort, and casual enough to not prompt any sudden proposal panic." - heidi lauth beasley

London Restaurant Recommendations for the Weekend | Eater London

"A Brixton Sicilian trattoria celebrating homemade tagliatelle and Palermo street-specialities: panelle, sfincione, ricotta-filled cannoli made to order, and bouncy egg-rich pastas including squid-ink tagliatelle with squid and pistachio Trapanese pesto are highlights alongside a modest Sardinian wine list." - James Hansen

Franzina Trattoria - Review - Brixton - London - The Infatuation

"Franzina Trattoria is a tiny authentic Sicilian restaurant hiding in plain sight in a shipping container in Pop Brixton. You need to come with at least one other person, but come as a foursome and you can try a number of their starters. They’re all a bit more interesting than the usual ‘burrata, bruschetta, caprese’ fare you find at Italian restaurants these days. But what you’re really here for is the homemade tagliatelle, specifically the the black squid ink, which is sensational." - Eileen Twum

My friend and I were visiting London for the week, and on our very first night we wandered around Brixton looking for dinner. We stumbled upon Franzina Trattoria and were lucky enough to grab a cozy little corner table. From the start, both the chef and our server were so welcoming and kind. We started with orange gin and tonics and they were honestly the best gin and tonics either of us has ever had. My friend ordered the pesto trapanese and I had the ragú di salsiccia and we cleaned our plates without a second thought. To finish, the tiramisu was dreamy, rich, creamy and absolutely perfect. As the week went on we kept talking about how much we wished we could go back, so on our last night in London we did just that, this time with another friend. We ordered our favorites all over again along with the polpetta di melanzana, sfingette, and our friend got the ammuttunata. The chef remembered us, which made the night even sweeter. After dinner he surprised us with a delicious negroni, and shots of amaretto, and we ended up laughing, chatting and even taking a picture together. This little restaurant was such a highlight of our trip. We will always remember this place. Thank you!!!

I went there for dinner and absolutely loved the food and the ambiance! You can tell that the cuisine was homemade and different from what you can find in a typical Italian restaurant! The owner came to check several times if we were enjoying our food which a plus!! The wine was great and the tiramisu delish!

I wish I could rate everything higher than 5. My favourite place to go in Brixton/london. I didn’t catch the owners name but he’s so so so brilliant. Spent my birthday here and he made it so so so special. Can’t express my gratitude enough if you see this! I’m vegan and the food was out of this world - so incredible. Truly in awe of how special he made that night for me. An incredible business owner who made every customer feel special and seen. I could write an essay about this place, the vibe, the roster, the food, the drinks, the location - it is all 100/10. Big thankyou 100 times to the owner. I will be back again for my birthday next year and hopefully for all the events in between. Such a wonderful evening all thanks to the owner and what he does and how he treats every single person.

It was a super cool evening with a lots of fun in a cosy environment, tasty food, great drinks, nice team and an unique chef-hostess. Was glad I chose Franzina Trattoria to have my b-day celebration dinner on my 3rd visit to this lovely restaurant. Thank you ever so much from my guests and myself!

I came here on my birthday to treat myself to a dinner and it was a rather unfortunate experience. I waited 15 minutes to be served, with waiters walking up and down with no indication when they would come over, and only received service after I raised my hand. From that point onwards, I waited 40 minutes for my pasta to arrive. The table opposite me, who ordered way after me got theirs at the same time. No one checked in on me to see if I was enjoying the dish - the pasta was alright, but not a 40 minutes wait good. The bill, which I had to ask multiple times for, took another 10 minutes to come. It was not a great way to spend my birthday and I feel quite disappointed by the lack of care in the service.

This is a little gem. The love of creating dishes from quality ingredients and combining flavours to make something delicious, fresh and satisfying just shines through. So rare to find such passion and genuine hospitality these days. Also good options for different diets, whether vegetarian, vegan or gluten free. Do try the homemade amaretto or limoncello if you get a chance. And the tiramisu if you have space!

Sensational pasta and sauces. Honestly the best pasta dish I've tasted, better than in Italy. Delicious homemade pasta. I had the Tagitelle Pesto Trapanese, was amazing. It's made fresh and to order. Great wine selection too. Exciting menu with plenty of vegetarian options. Relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be back next time I'm in London. Cannot recommended this place highly enough! Note: It's great for coeliacs too. The chef is totally in control to ensure no cross contamination.
