Franzina Trattoria

The restaurant itself is nice with the Italian style decoration and open kitchen. Everything I tried was the Gamberoni alla griglia , Nduja arancina , seafood pasta , truffle pasta and Ragu di salsiccia. Everything was delicious, both our starter dishes had so much flavour, I loved the prawns ( although they’re quite expensive). I would say the restaurant overall is pretty expensive but at least the food is nice. All three pasta dishes I tried were delicious, specifically the black truffle pasta. The service was fantastic too.

We had a great dinner with friends here. Everything from the starters to the dessert was delicious. Really authentic Sicilian food! Handmade tagliatelle pesto Trapanese was my personal favourite (in the pic)! However also pallotte cacio e ova were amazing! Great service too. Will come back for sure!

Yesterday night me and my partner decided to go to Franzina Trattoria, with very high expectations, as my partner is Sicilian. When we came into the restaurant, our first impression was fantastic, the decoration, the open kitchen and the terrace were stunning. We needed to wait for a few mins until there was a table available, but the other clients queuing with us, gave us an amazing introduction about the restaurant and menu, as they were both regular clients. By this point, we were already feeling in Sicily… the smell of the seafood, the friendly vibes of everyone, the amazing selection of music… After a 10min waiting (which went very fast as the other clients entertained us explaining us the menu and all the special plates we must try), we’ve got our table, and the fantastic waitress from Puglia took our order. She gave us an amazing service, taking care of our table from beginning to end. We ordered Arancina al Pistachio, grilled King Prawns and two big plates of pasta: Nero di sepia and Frutti di Mare. What can I say? My partner almost cried when trying every bit. It was unbelievable, every single bite of every plate was PERFECTION. The arancina, perfectly smooth on the inside, and súper crocante on the outside! Perfectly cooked and full of pistachio cream. It felt like walking the streets of Palermo on a very sunny day! Just pleasure!!! The King Prawns were perfectly cooked, and the two plates of pasta left us with no words. We almost couldn’t finish it, but it was so good, we finished all! We finished with a gorgeous Pistachio Tiramisu that really stole our hearts 🤤 The chef, Pietro, was not only one of the best Italians chefs we know, but he was also an amazing host, interacting with the clients while cooking the most amazing plates! Everything was a 10, we were genuinely impressed by every single detail. No doubts, THE BEST ITALIAN RESTAURANT IN LONDON, and we will come back for sure! Super recommended for any single occasion! From now on, every-time we want to eat Italian, we’ll come back to Franzina Trattoria! Thank you so much to all the team!!

Decent pastas and very average cocktails - but the homemade gelato is outstanding!!

Franzina Trattoria catered our West London wedding in September last year and every single part of the experience was exceptional, from the tastings to the big day itself. We had 110 guests to feed and they all told us the same thing - it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding. At a tasting beforehand, Pietro and Stefania took us through an incredible range of delicious options for canapes and the main meal. The food was all unbelievable. The pasta was the perfect amount of food and because it was fresh, it lined everyone’s stomachs without making them feel sluggish – we had people on the dancefloor until 2am! Pietro and Stefania were an absolute pleasure to work with. They care deeply about doing the best possible job and it really came across in the food. The ingredients are so carefully sourced and are such high quality. My partner and I have been to Sicily many times before and you just won’t get this type of authentic Sicilian cuisine anywhere else. If you are looking for a caterer, we strongly recommend you get in touch, you won’t regret it. Not only did they make our big day so memorable, but we now get to visit the restaurant every year on our anniversary to relive the experience. Not many other caterers give you that option. So a massive final thank you to Pietro and Stefania!

It’s not a large menu but that only means the owner-chef gets to perfect his dishes and add his unique stamp to his creations. The freshly made pasta is cooked perfectly Al Dente and the sauces are deep and complex with each promised flavour coming through with perfect balance. Carlos, our server, was a delight. Full of love, joy and laughter. He’ll make you feel you’re on warm vacation in Sicily. Will definitely return when next in Brixton.

My boyfriend and I went to Franzina Trattoria to have a dinner to celebrate his birthday and we had a great time. All the dishes were so tasty and fresh, also an exceptional service, strong recommend this restaurant.

I'd say this is the best Italian food I've had in London. Adore their fresh pasta dishes. Fully recommend the pesto pasta and tiramisu. Perfect destination for date night.
