Where To Go When A Hook Up Is Becoming A Thing

"When it comes to finding out if they’re sticking around, you have two options. Invite them to an event that’s taking place in five weeks time and see how they react. Or take them for a chat over a cosy but romantic dinner at Franzina Trattoria. And only one of those options involves you getting to eat squid ink tagliatelle. Inside a converted shipping container in Pop Brixton, this place is intimate enough to have a quiet conversation, original enough to feel like you’ve made an effort, and casual enough to not prompt any sudden proposal panic." - heidi lauth beasley

Where To Eat Before Or After A London Gig - London - The Infatuation

"Another go-to option in the extremely conveniently placed Pop Brixton, Franzina Trattoria makes delicious tagliatelle in a load of different sauces. If the days of a burger and a couple of cans on the street are long behind you, then this is the perfect ‘grown-up choice’. It’s reasonably priced, tasty, and has a rather inviting wine list as well." - Heidi Lauth Beasley, Jake Oliver

Franzina Trattoria Review - Brixton - London - The Infatuation

"Franzina Trattoria is a tiny authentic Sicilian restaurant hiding in plain sight in a shipping container in Pop Brixton. You need to come with at least one other person, but come as a foursome and you can try a number of their starters. They’re all a bit more interesting than the usual ‘burrata, bruschetta, caprese’ fare you find at Italian restaurants these days. But what you’re really here for is the homemade tagliatelle, specifically the the black squid ink, which is sensational." - Eileen Twum

Food was delicious! We went on Valentine’s Day and were lucky to have been seated on time. For most of our dinner there was about 6-7 couples standing in the entrance, where our table was, not able to be seated. Imagine there was some double booking of folks, so that did take away from our meal a little but it’s not really their fault. I would like to come back when it’s not the busiest date night of the year and try some of the specials they ran out of!

Very delicious food, the sfincione was one of the best I’ve ever ate, crocchè and cazzilli top and arancine as well! The owner/chef is very nice and it was a pleasure talking with him and he suggested us a very good wine, Nero D’Avola made by them

Came here on the off chance after the restaurant we had booked (Taperna) was shuttered on arrival. What luck! Very glad they could fit us in as this place is a gem. A relatively short menu, a bright space with lots of REAL plants (no fake plastic here), an open kitchen and friendly service. We shared the sfincione focaccia to start - if you love sweet/salty flavours and generously oiled bread you'll love this. For mains I had the tagliatelle pesto Trapanese - lots of flavour, hand made pasta, a rich tasty sauce with lots of pistachio and ricotta. My partner had the involtini which looked small but packed a punch and came with a side bowl of delicious caponata. We were both over the moon with our choices. The young man (Jeffery, according to the bill) who was doing service was run off of his feet and he was also guiding the kitchen quite a lot. He clearly knows what he is doing as there were no issues with waiting time or errors. He had a new assistant (Luca I think I heard him say) who was on his first shift but seemed to be a willing learner and will soon know the ropes, I'm sure. We're so glad we went here. First time in Brixton in years but I'd go back just for this.

Absolutely adore this place. The food was amazing, great vibe, and the owner really made this a special experience for my friend and I. We felt right at home and can’t wait to come back, thank you Peter!

Nero di seppia tagliatelle dish was the highlight of the visit. If you decide to go for that one, please make sure you wipe your mouth thoroughly, before leaving the restaurant. Either this or you may end up on the receiving end of people admiring your unusual, seafood based makeup.

Incredible Italian in Brixton and by far one of the best restaurants in the area. The host was incredibly kind, warm and inviting on Christmas Eve.. each dish was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the arancini and ended up ordering one of each on the menu! All reasonably priced. You must try this restaurant!!!

I've been here a few times & it's always number one on my recommendations list! The food is always brilliant, and the prices are really good - especially for such great quality. Most recently, my boyfriend and I came for my birthday on the 20th June and were served by Pietro who absolutely made our visit! He was funny, super helpful, and helped us with menu recommendations. The restaurant also helped my boyfriend organise a cake for me which was so kind!
