The Ride-Along Report: First Takes From Last Night’s Dinner

"What It Is: A cafe inside a fashion store on Melrose Place Perfect For: Keeping It Kind Of Healthy, People Watching We stopped into Cafe Flora last week to see what a cafe inside a high-end accessory store on Melrose Place would be like. Mansur Gavriel makes very fancy handbags, so we weren’t really sure what to expect, other than a place that looks beautiful. Which it was. There are white cafe tables and waitstaff dressed in flowing beige linen. But the food is pretty boring and expensive. Also, there were at least two photo shoots happening while we ate lunch. Verdict: Skip it, unless you need an avocado toast break in between buying expensive bags." - jess basser sanders, brant cox, brett keating

Service is amazing. This place is setup that every employee is your server. No one shrugs when you ask a question or require assistance. You won't hear, let me get your server here.Food is flavorful. They have electronic and paper menus.Cool decor. Street parking only. Only 1 bathroom. The bathroom cleaning left a little to be desired. You need to make a reservation, as the place is always full of people. Waiter doesn't take your order at your table. You review the menu and order at the register. Seating is close proximity to other tables.

I had such a great experience at this restaurant! The service here is honestly amazing. What I really loved is that everyone working there is ready to help you—not just one assigned server. It’s set up so that any employee can assist you, and no one ever says, “Let me get your server.” It’s such a nice change! Every time I had a question or needed something, someone jumped right in with a smile. You can really feel that the whole team is working together to make sure you’re happy. The food was also really good! Every dish we tried was full of flavor—nothing bland or boring here. The menu is easy to browse, and I liked that they offer both electronic and paper versions, which is super convenient whether you want to scroll on a screen or flip through a classic menu. The decor is also pretty cool. The place has a fun, modern vibe but still feels comfortable and relaxed. It’s one of those places where you can enjoy both the food and the atmosphere. Overall, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out. Great food, awesome service, and a really nice setup that makes you feel taken care of the whole time. I’ll for sure be coming back!

Google
Such a great brunch spot! My friends and I were visiting LA, and we’re so glad we decided to check this place out. The service was super quick – we got our food and drinks in less than 10 minutes after ordering, which was amazing. The food was honestly so good. We all tried different dishes, and everything was on point. Plus, the prices are really decent, which is always a win. Really wanted to point out the staff were so nice and friendly, they had the best vibes – they made the whole experience even better. If you’re in LA, this spot is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend!😍

I just had the best breakfast in LA. From the food to the customer service to the ambiance everything was 10 out of 10. I got the oat pancakes with eggs and bacon and my wife got the fried chicken wrap. Highly recommend. I will be back very soon.

Google
Loved this place, food was delish, fast service even though it was pretty full. I loved that once you are ready to order you can do it yourself at the front. Even tho we had no server the busboy/hostess were very attentive and polite .

Discovered this cafe was walking distance from an Airbnb while visiting LA. The owner & staff were very friendly, food was delicious! The potatoes were very crispy- some of the best ever! Our family ordered many different items off the menu and enjoyed everything. Went back two days in a row- and bought extra muffins for our third day to eat in the car! One of the best breakfast restaurants I’ve ever been to. Also- very cool decor and ambiance.

Google
Don't be fooled reading the Italian name, it's only a Mexican restaurant, not even a European food other than the cold English Breakfast tea, it's an indoor food cart, you order and pay upfront at the cashier, no table service other than cleaning and perhaps brings the food to you, wooden seats, noisy, dark and depressing environment, nothing special in the food menu nor the drinks, they are more practical on the edge of being rushing and careless. $112 for four people with regular orders, you do the math. Oh, you have to leave your seat and pay first to have the additional toast. Street Food cart system.

Yelp
If you're looking for a cozy spot with delicious food on Melrose, this is a must visit! As a local, I find myself stopping by often, and every time, it's a consistently great experience. The food is always fresh and flavorful, and the shrimp tacos are hands down one of the best things on the menu -- perfectly cooked shrimp with a nice balance of spice and flavor. Ev is always so welcoming and goes out of her way to ensure we have a great experience. Whether you're grabbing a quick bite or settling in for a longer meal this place delivers every time. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
Yelp to the rescue, once again. Needed a Sunday Brunch spot and a quick Yelp search led me here. Boy, o, boy, Fratelli Cafe is all the hype. Let's jump right into this review. First, there is an old mailbox at the entrance. They use it for the host/hostess to greet customers. I thought it was the coolest look. IJS. It stood out for good reason. What did we have? Chicken & Waffle - $20.00 belgian waffle, two pieces of fried chicken breast, served with maple syrup - Yum, yummy! Bee Gees - $18.00 eggs, turkey bacon, bell peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, feta - I requested no feta, bell peppers, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Not a bad dish, overall. Great flavor for what I had left over after my "special requests ". Pros 1. Service is amazing. This place is setup that every employee is your server. No one shrugs when you ask a question or require assistance. You won't hear, let me get your server here. 2. Food is flavorful! Bon appetit. 3. They have electronic and paper menus. 4. Cool decor - exposed wood, hanging bikes, and greenery. Cons 1. Street parking only. Pay the meters. Read the signs. 2. Only 1 bathroom. I didn't use it, so, I can't speak to the cleanliness. But, I sat close to it and saw it was getting use often. Other things to know: - Fratelli gets busy. I suggest a reservation. - Waiter/waitress doesn't take your order at your table. You review the menu and order at the register. - Seating is close proximity to other people/tables. I recommend Fratelli Cafe. It's worth pulling up. So, don't delay, add this place of a gem to your list of eateries to try.

Yelp
Nothing to rave about. The food was nothing special. It lacked flavor and the place appears rundown. The upholstery on one of the booths is falling apart. Sadly, the best thing was the infused free water. The reviews and photos about this place are misleading but at the end of the day, each person is entitled to their own opinion.

Yelp
Phenomenal Experience at Fratelli Cafe From the moment my friend and I stepped into Fratelli Cafe in Marina del Rey, we were blown away by the exceptional service. The servers were phenomenal--super kind, conversational, and attentive. Truly a 10/10 experience! The menu offered an impressive variety of items, making it hard to choose. This time, I went for the buttermilk pancakes with scrambled eggs, applewood bacon, and powdered sugar dusted over the pancakes, served with warm syrup on the side--a detail I absolutely loved. My guest had the croissant French toast topped with fresh blueberries and strawberries, along with a side of scrambled eggs and a Matcha latte green tea. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. Although the interior is a bit small, it has a cozy, community-oriented vibe that makes it charming, especially considering they just opened this location three months ago. The option to dine inside or outside adds to the café feel. I also learned their main location is in Melrose, and I'm excited to try it out in the future. Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. This spot is a must-visit! My overall experience: 10/10.

Yelp
I can eat breakfast anytime of day, and Fratelli Cafe delivers! Their croissant French toast with fresh strawberries & blueberries, applewood smoked bacon, eggs, freshly squeezed orange juice, & the Newtown burrito were definitely worth trying! I really enjoyed the butteriness of the French toast paired w. fresh fruit & the tender crispness of the bacon! The ambiance is chill, a step up from casual. Their decor is simple. The service fine. Nothing stellar, but I'll definitely be back for the Croissant French Toast!

Yelp
What you would imagine "brunching" in LA would be like - cozy, aesthetic, and yummy! I really liked the wooden aesthetic and service was extremely friendly. In my opinion, it's overall a smaller seating area, so I would suggest going in no bigger groups than 4. The food was your standard brunch menu but it served its purpose to its potential :) * Shakshuka - warm, flavorful highly recommend!!

Yelp
The chilaquiles are very yummy and flavorful. You have to take your own order at tte cash register. Service was quick overall. Usually very crowded but they sit you pretty fast. However, we were told our table was ready and still had to wait 15-20 minutes. Nevertheless breakfast was yummy!
google avatar

Yelp
Quick to get our food! The crunchy french toast was great! The potatoes could use a little bit of work. Food got cold kinda quick because of the open door.

Yelp
This place offers both indoor and outdoor seating with the views of a busy Melrose street. There is a sign at the front to wait for the host to be seated but this doesn't make sense because you have to get up from your table to go back to the front to place your order. It would just make sense to have people order their food first and then choose their own table. The cashiers came off very weird and nobody comes to check on your table during the duration of your meal. You pay for everything when you go order your food and they still flip the screen for the tip option. The only thing I can think of that goes to tip is the person who walks you to your table. The whole system was new to me but it looks like it works for them. Anyways, the food was really good. I recommend you try the steak burrito. The reason I ordered it was because it had mushrooms and broccoli (two of my favorite vegetables) and it made the burrito delicious. The steak was also flavorful. I specifically came for the French toast crossiant and it actually worked well. The bread was a bit dry but the fruits were fresh and sweet and the syrup also helped.

Yelp
If you're going to fight for parking in LA--Make sure it's worth it! This cafe surely meets the requirements. The food is fresh the staff are friendly and it's quite busy. I was able to make a reservation via YELP(thank heavens!). After parking on a side street we missed the check in window and the third in our party wasn't there so we unfortunately forfeited our reservation. No worries! The next 40 minutes we were into a table for 3. It's not a restaurant it's a cafe so naturally you go to the counter to place your order. They have mimosas is what I do know! Seating is outside so after placing your order you'll receive your number and your food will be brought to you. The food arrived in 25 minutes after going to the front. All the astonishing colorful food on the table was quite the presentation. The shrimp tacos were simply delicious. The avocado toast was a very hefty healthy portion of vegetation and bread. I wasn't sure how to pick it up so I ate it with knife and fork. The chicken salad sandwich was a surprise and the fresh buttery croissant was a perfect pair! The Shuashuka was hearty and filling but the star of the show was the Croissant French Toast. My goodness someone on the street came to ask about the dish after it was placed on the table. Truly a beautiful plate and a wonder to eat. Thank you Fratelli Cafe! We hope to be back soon.

Yelp
After a long flight that started early from the east coast, we needed a good refuel Brunch. We searched and this spot, in the Melrose District, came up. A good amount of outdoor seating maybe about the same as indoor? They were semi-busy on a Wednesday morning around 10:30. We lucked out and found street parking right across the street. (2 hours free). Order at counter and food is brought out to your table. Some ordered Breakfast/some lunch. Create your own omelette with Spinach, mushrooms, goat cheese, Lox and avocado was delicious! The Wagyu Smash Burger and the New Breakfast Burrito (filled with eggs and Chorizo) didn't disappoint. We enjoyed a Cappucino and an Iced Mocha. Maybe the coolest bathroom ceiling ever. As we were wrapping up, they started to get busy for Lunch. Would imagine the weekends get busy also. Friendly and upbeat people working behind the counter. Solid Brunch spot.

Yelp
This place was absolutely popping on Sunday afternoon. I was thankful I was able to add myself to the waitlist ahead of time. They also seem to turn tables quickly and it didn't seem like anyone was waiting too long. I personally made a big mistake by trying to order light and healthy-ish here. This is not the place to do that. By the looks of it, it's the heartier, richer, and sweeter dishes that really thrive. I'm looking forward ordering correctly next time! YAYs: Biscuits & gravy- were tasty. The gravy is chicken based which was great for me since I don't eat pork. NAYs- Bagel 'n cream cheese- pass. The bagels are nothing to write home about. May have even been store bought. I personally didn't love the cream cheese either. Smoothie- these smoothies are in the pricier side if you plan to modify with preferred ingredients, and it just didn't taste that great. It was very watery, and I'm used to a thicker mix Side of Avo and turkey sausage- Avo was ripe, turkey sausage was interesting. Not my favorite. * I still gave 4 stars cause clearly I ordered wrong. The place was popping and everyone else's dish looked great. Staff were also super chill and accommodating!

Yelp
Chicken Salad Sandwhich- ingredients chicken, celery, candied walnuts, apples, Cranberries lettuce tomato and onion. Outside we were greated by a QR Code and a sign wait outside until seated. Scanned we scanned the code and started to read the menu. A few minutes later we were asked inside or outside inside of course it was already 100 degrees so air conditioning is a must. He showed us our table and said orsr at the counter when your ready. I shoukd have ordered the Chicken Avo sandwich like my daughter and wife but me thinking we could try something else and share bites.. 2 Chicken Avo and 1 Chicken salad sandwiches wife went for the soup daughter and went for the fries. When I asked the girl at the counter how much onions were in the chicken salad sandwich she said not much... Smart counter waitering because your tipping ahead of your meal not knowing if your going to enjoy it or not.... So our order was complete and we sat down eagerly waiting to try our food. Both Chicken Avocados looked amazing and both said they enjoyed them buy this review is about my experience and sorry to say they fell super short. ....When I recieved my Sandwhich this what I got , Onions onions and more onions so much red onion my stomach still hurts 2 hours later... Here we're the ingredients in my sandwhich Onions X10, chicken finely chopped, mayonnaise, celery & tomato. This is what was missing chopped apples, cranberries and candied walnuts... The seasoned fries were good but can't measure there grade on French fries.. Cost $75.54 that included tip. My recommendation: Go extra light with the chopped onion and don't forget adding the candied walnuts, apples and cranberries. What pulled me away from the Chicken Avo was how refreshing the description of the chicken salad reads in the menu. Not sure how soon I will come back, but maybe I can give them a second go if I can get what the menu describes... Inside did have a different kind of vibe which seemed appealing for everyone dining inside.

Yelp
Got seated right away thanks to yelp waitlist. We were greeted by a friendly host/server and ordered at the cashier. All the staff here was welcoming and kind! Reason for the extra star! My friend and I got the Samson bagel sandwich and Chicken Croissandwich. Considering it was not busy, we waited almost 30 mins for our food. Maybe because we waited so long, we had higher expectations.. The food was just OK. I'm a big fan of lox bagel sandwich but not this one. The bagel itself was so tough and hard to chew and the potatoes weren't really seasoned. The croissandwich was better but nothing special. Might be back for another try and order popular items. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Street parking.

Yelp
Relaxed and inviting, this brunch mecca is incredibly efficient. Your party is seated then-when ready, no rush-you place your order at the counter. Your order is then delivered to your table. Inside and outdoor dining - both are cozy and comfortable. The menu is well crafted with something for everyone. Plenty of à la cart items for those who would like to choose their plate. A few favorites are the bacon hash (to die for!!) veggie omelette, and chicken & waffles.

Yelp
Fratellis was so amazing that we went here twice during our trip! The latte was so delicious and had the perfect taste. All the food was full of flavor and the berries were nice and fresh! Not only is the food great, the service is even better! The owner really does take great care of his guest and all of the other staff are sweet and patient even when they are busy. The cafe is cute and I loved the decor. They also offer complimentary infused water which was a plus! Can't wait for us to visit again soon.

The food was delicious! And the service was fast and friendly :) we loved the relaxing ambiance on a rainy day!

Yelp
Cold food. Bad service. Basic food. Considering the area the restaurant is located you'd think they'd step their game up. Everything felt pre-made or reheated and for the low quality of the food, the prices are insane! Never going back.

Yelp
Love this restaurant! Located on Melrose Ave around West Hollywood, this little restaurant is quite popular. I went around 10am, and had to wait just 10min before getting seated for a party of 2. We got a small table inside by the window (NOTE: the outside was too hot for my comfort). Once you get assigned a table by the host/server, you need to stand in-line to order the food, get a number, and then go back to your table. I got the napoleon crepe and the steak burrito and let me just say that they were delicious. The steak burrito really hit the spot! Great flavor, done medium which was a good texture and chew for a burrito I think (steak should otherwise be medium rare, IMO). The napoleon crepe was also quite good, lots of blueberry and strawberry on top, albeit a little too sweet for me, and the crepe was a little overcooked and not as soft as it should've been; but if you like a chewy crepe then this is the stuff for you! However, the orange juice that my friend got was a little expensive for what it is, so buyer beware if you order drinks. Parking was easy to find on the street, despite the busy morning of brunch goers. Make sure to look at the signs, you have to pay at most of those street parking spots even on Sunday because of the location. Overall, great food, solid burrito, efficient service/friendly servers, space a little small but cozy enough, and parking was not too bad. Would go back if I'm in the area! Definitely worth a try if you haven't been, and worth a second try if you didn't like it the first time. Solid brunch place.

Yelp
I was looking for a good brunch spot for Sunday Funday, so I checked Yelp for reviews and decided to try this place out. There's plenty of street parking. It's best to join the waitlist on Yelp because this place can get busy. The customer service was great, and the greeter, Leo, was super friendly and helpful. I ordered the delicious "Signature Croissant French Toast" with blueberries, strawberries, and powdered sugar, served with maple syrup. I also ordered a side of Applewood-Smoked Bacon, which was good but not crispy, even though I requested it to be. The scrambled eggs were decent but could have been better. Overall, it's a cool brunch spot, a little on the pricey side, but that's LA. I recommend trying this place.

Yelp
Everything we had was good, croissant French toast, omelette, chilaquiles, and burrito. Bought a bottle of champagne for a reasonable $35 Service was great, made a lot of recommendations and the out side seating was a good atmosphere.

Yelp
This review is a little over due, stopped by almost two weeks ago for my dad's birthday and wow, one of the best dining experiences I've had, from the service to the food... 10/10. We started with drinks, parents got some juices, mom got a hot chocolate and everything was delicious. The food arrived quickly and was so good, even though we paid initially they checked on us so many times and helped us with whatever we needed. My dad even asked for tortillas and they were able to get him some. My sister's food took longer than the rest, but they quickly fixed the issue, I believe it was the manager who had such a great attitude and was so helpful. The main reason I'm writing this review however is for Jose, he went above and beyond in every aspect, made this experience so good, so attentive. Huge huge thank you to Jose for his service and great energy, you made this such a great breakfast for my family and I!

Yelp
Excellent cafe. Beautifully structured corner spot that seems like a converted garage. Lots of natural light for their indoor tables and plenty of shade for their outdoor tables as well... Standing outside in the sun for the servers to come grab you for a seat is a bit unorthodox but luckily we didn't have to wait more than a couple minutes for an indoor table on a Thursday morning. The service here was very quick and friendly. I liked their menu and decided to try their shakshuka, my sister ordered the chocolate crepe and we had a couple sides and a honey latte. Everything came out rapid! The bacon was so sweet and pleasantly salty. Cooked to perfection according to my preference (not overly crisp) i liked the shakshuka as well. Giant portion served in a mini skillet and a heart shaped bread slice split in 2. My sister liked their crepe, nice presentation and very good/sweet plump strawberries topped the crepe. We enjoyed our meal a lot! The honey latte was delicious as well, nice sweet flavor and good jolt of espresso to start the day. Cute cafe :-)

Yelp
The outdoor seating area has the perfect ambiance for a weekday brunch! The food and service, especially from our waiter Jayson, was amazing. I highly recommend the Chicken Croissanwhich!

Yelp
The food is good. The place is a neighborhood favorite. The staff is friendly and hard working. They are pretty busy but get you seated right away. There's metered parking on the Main Street.

Yelp
I came here with a few friends on a whim, and I'm so glad we did! First and foremost the staff was so warm, friendly and welcoming! Nat and Evelyn took great care of us and were very accommodating. They have a really cute patio to people watch, and the food was very yummy. We had the Cali Omelette, and the steak Benedict. Everything was fresh and you can tell they pay attention to the details. We will definitely be back soon!

Yelp
The service was fast and staff were nice. The place is decorated really nice too. My croissant French toast was sooooo delicious. Bacon could have been cooked a little more but it was good. Would have given 5 stars but my friends omelette had a long hair in it. They were really apologetic and remade it quickly. I'm sure stuff that like happens everywhere once in a while. Definitely come try the French toast

Yelp
Came on Sunday morning for brunch. Joined the waitlist on Yelp then checked in when I arrived. Didn't have to wait too long. Scan the QR code outside and get seated. After getting seated, we looked through the menu then got in line to order the food. (You won't lose your table). Ordered Smokey Ben, Sweet & Savory, vanilla latte, and caramel latte. The coffee was not good. The coffee tasted pretty burnt which is disappointing. Friend and I both took a few sips but didn't finish them. I really didn't want to get in line again to ask someone remake them. The food was decent and I like the range of options on their menu. But I don't live that close to this place so I wouldn't make it out here again for this spot. A con of the place is that they only has one restroom. 3 other people in front of me left the line. I waited in line for about 5-10 minutes and decided to leave. There was a line of 5 other people after me. There's not a lot of space in the restaurant for people to line up so they were standing between tables. Wasn't the restaurant's fault for the line but it is an inconvenience.

Yelp
3 words, one breakfast... Croissant French Toast. It is the perfect combination between breakfast and pastry. It is not too sweet and has just enough berries garnished on top of it. This is always a must when i come for brunch with my girlfriends. We all normally end up sharing it because we all get different dishes. I am a fan of the california scramble. The potatos are my favorite because they are always so crispy and flavourful. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside but if you come during the prime brunch hours on the weekend you might have to do a small wait for a table. The orange juice is very pricey, beware but i will admit that because its freshly squeezed when ordered it taste so so good.
google avatar

Boun S.

Yelp
Crinkle cut fries & Evelyn--what more could you ask for? It's so hard to find good crinkle cut fries in LA, but this place does not disappoint. Evelyn was amazing, making sure I was all set to enjoy my meal and even introducing me to their fresh juices (the beet juice is so good!). The interior is also charming and inviting. Go get those crinkle cut fries now and be sure to say hi to Evelyn! Highly recommend

Yelp
Found this spot on yelp. Came here after a Sunday morning race. For starters, great staff. Friendly and accommodating. Food came out quick, everything was perfect. Vibe here is cutesy/rustic. Very intimate cozy restaurant.

Yelp
Decided to try this place for Sunday breakfast. Arrive early because there is a line that forms. They do a pretty good job of getting you in within a reasonable time. They are dog friendly with outside seating. The food is excellent and the fresh OJ is refreshing. To get onto waitlist you need to scan with your phone and they will text you when your table is ready. To order again scan the menu and once you decide what you want you go to counter and order. This concept was new to me. No waiters just servers. One last thing if you decide to sit outside be aware that there are many pesky flys. Food was great definitely would recommend

Yelp
I recently had delivery from Fratelli Cafe and zero complaints! Everything was packed up nicely and promptly for me. I ordered a breakfast burrito and it had the perfect balance of egg, cheese and bacon on it. I did need to add a little sauce to spice it up but it was delicious! Good sized portion, price wasn't bad, plus it came with breakfast potatoes. Plus when I ordered, they were doing BOGO - um a deal!? I'm in~!!! This is one of my shortest and sweetest reviews ever, but I can wholeheartedly recommend breakfast from Fratelli Cafe~!

SLO M.

Yelp
It was pretty awful! The food was cold when it was brought to the table. I mean cold over easy eggs????? The sausage was cold. Pancakes were cold. The crispy potatoes were not crispy and almost cold. The place was not super crowded. I was soooooo upset. Very upset with choice for breakfast this morning.

Yelp
It's my first time here and I'm very happy we came here. We came to celebrate my goddaughter birthday and the food was delicious. I have a severe pork allergy and the host made sure that my food was cooked away from any pork food. It's a very chill location, very clean. Definitely will come back.

Yelp
I was having a hankering for some brunch and stumbled upon Fratelli Cafe. We came a little before 10 and beat the morning rush. You order at the register inside and tell the cashier if it's for here or to go. We were dining in and grabbed a number for our table The food was decent but honestly did not live up to my expectations. Biscuits Benny was almost cold when it came to me and I hadn't realized the eggs were scrambled when I ordered. the texture was all around a little mushy. Potatoes were seasoned well but only a select few were crispy my partner got the croissant french toast and it was alright but it did not taste too different from normal french toast in terms of texture, butteriness, etc. a little overly sweet for my taste as well my sister ordered the chorizo burrito which she enjoyed but noted that there was excessive oil. i haven't found a brunch spot that I go nuts for in LA yet and I guess I'll stay on the hunt! // IG: @stephiesmunchiez

Yelp
Maybe it was just a very off day, but we had a negative experience. That said, staff was trying really hard and we came at a peak time, around 1pm Sunday brunch. Benefit of the doubt here, but our brunch as follows: 1. Seated right away without reservation, very nice booth table. 2. Awkward and confusing counter order experience without display or paper menu available 3. Horrible smell, likely BO from a table seated in the center of the dining area: unmanageable stench 4. Asked to be seated outside due to overwhelming odor, waited for new table 5. Food was cold, bad, and generally unappealing. Salmon Eggs Benedict unacceptable/inedible. Potatoes cold even on refire. 6. Staff was dragging tables noisily and shutting down shortly after we were served. ...this was fundamentally disorganized, inhospitable due to stench, not cheap, and with bad food.

Yelp
To Start Off the Vibe In the spot was super low key and chill coffee spot vibe with the compliment of having great food along with it, the Breakfast burrito was on The spot amazing! The eggs Benedict was not amazing but still good for the place. Loved the croissant French toast to end the breakfast, recommend this place everytime.

Yelp
This was our first and last visit! I'm only giving this two stars because the cashier was extremely nice and my Americano coffee was delicious. There was a glass bakery shelf at the counter that was 3/4 empty. So potentially a sign that their food is going to be good as they sold out of their baked goods. Sadly Not the case... Service- there is very little. You order at the counter. They served my coffee and our order. I asked for cream. It never arrived. I had to get up myself and go find some salt and pepper. After your food is dropped off you never see anyone again. It's as if we were invisible. Food- please see photos My husband and I both ordered our eggs over medium, as you can see in the photos they were overcooked and hard. Cashier also asked how I would like my steak cooked- medium rare please. My steak was well done. If you're going to ask me how I want my steak and eggs cooked then cook it the way I order it or don't ask me! My steak hash had zero flavor. There was a little bit of melted cheddar cheese on top, but that didn't help. I had to go find some salt and pepper. My husband's biscuits and gravy were flavorless. Definitely frozen store-bought biscuits. Sadly, we don't recommend.

Yelp
The restaurant was so cute, loved the patio seating and location on Melrose. The croissant French toast was delicious and so unique, super soft and buttery. The Huevos Rancheros was just okay, but I'd still definitely come again.

Yelp
The food is sooooo delicious, I see why they stay busy all the time. Great spot, right on the corner of Melrose, near labrea. We had croissant French toast which was Devine; light and fluffy and they give you a lot of mixed berries on top , delish! Pancakes were so good and fluffy. Croissant sandwiches with bacon, eggs and cheddar was YUMMY! Even the potatoes fries that came with it, they were seasoned perfectly.

Yelp
breakfast is served. We were on searching for an alternative breakfast place since our first choice was a major fail...and slight disappointment. Thanks to the Yelp app for helping us find this gem of a restaurant. NOTES 1. Parking is street....unsure if there's a dedicated lot. We found street parking fairly easily. 2. One of the staff will seat your party, please follow the instructions on the signage posted. 3. Indoor and outdoor seating available. The staff will seat you at a table, BUT one must get in line (please follow the signage on where the line begins) to place an order(s). FOOD / DRINK We were quite famished, so really everything on the menu looked very appetizing honestly. I eventually chose the Huervos Rancheros, while my friend chose the California omelette. Coffee was our drink of choice....of course. I slightly regretted my choice when I realized that perhaps the might be too spicy. I was greatly mistaken. I enjoyed the dish very much, and found the portion size just right for me. My friend also enjoyed his food, as evidenced by its near disappearance from his plate. SERVICE I appreciated the staff checked on us periodically to see how we were doing, and for coffee refills (thankfully). They were all friendly and personable. I appreciated the owner/manager bidding us a good day as we rose from our table. BOTTOM LINE A positive first-time visit at Fratelli Cafe. I am thankful to the Yelp app for providing adequate/alternative breakfast recommendations.

Yelp
Since I moved to LA, Fratelli had been my favorite cafe in the Hollywood area. This is the spot where I always take visitors and guests. Why? Because it's that good. Ambience is beautiful. Small and quaint in the inside with hanging vines and plants. Outdoor seating for the ones who like a bit of fresh air and people watching while dining. You place your order at the counter and the waiters will bring you the food to your table. Pretty simple. Must try: the signature lattes, the croissant French toast, and the breakfast sandwiches! Trust me--you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
This café is outstanding. The food is delicious and well worth the price. The staff is amazing and in particular, Evelyn just adds to the overall experience by enhancing service and even the enjoyment of the food. I had the oat pancakes that were some of the best pancakes I've ever had, and they were very flexible in substituting Items on the dish. The coffee is delicious and very strong and Evelyn has a wonderful sense of humor that makes the whole experience more than just eating a meal. I highly recommend having breakfast or lunch at Fratelli Café.
