We have some pretty solid choices in Italian Food around the valley, but these guys leave me with a comfortable glow, and thank god I only dine with friends who eat family style...I get to try all the dishes I want.
I know the soup of the day will delight me...particularly if it's the lentil. I have a dilemma of choice on the salads: the Misto is excellent, the Spinaci gets me with the dressing, walnuts and pancetta, and the Caesar has these sick, creamy centered croutons.
It's the same with the pizza...anything new is a safe choice because they are puffy, slightly charred and delicious...no matter the choice. The Margherita is truly great, and at the other end of the spice & sauce spectrum are the Diavola and the Ragu...talk about a loaded pie, although the Ragu has to be eaten quickly if you like any crispness in your base..it will get soggy if left on the plate.
I really love the Pappardelle alla Bolognese, it's a favorite and a comfort food if I'm not feeling great, but they will serve it with zucchini noodles if that's your choice. The spaghetti alla Nerano and the Lasagna are also delectable.
Last week I had the Arizona burger one day, and the Polpetta the next. Sounds excessive, but both were absolutely fantastic, and while they are totally different choices, like everything else you can't go wrong.
They are also great about letting you taste the by the glass pours to find something that hits the spot. I know I eat out too much, but sometimes I don't feel like cooking and just want rock solid food, and Fratelli fits.
