My husband and I came here as a last minute on Friday nightl Good thing i checked their website and secured a reservation thru Open Table with in the hour. When we got here, there was many people waiting to be seated. We were early, but hostess said we would be seated close to our time (which was only like 15 min), But, waiting in in that area, was hard, as the piano player man was trying to crack jokes inbetween his songs. I have heard better singing at a hotel bar! I was glad we were not sitting in there.
When we finally did get seated, and we sat down, we were just up one step and at table, still with in ear shot of him. But, luckily, I think "happy hour" was over and we were able to enjoy reading over the menu. I think I wanted everything on the menu! It all looked good! We decided to not do apps, since we wanted to get the salads. Our waiter, Paul, was nice, but just could not smile! My husband tried to joke with him...and got nothing! Both of us started with a martini. He had a Cucumber Martini (very good and light) and I had the Peach Martini, which unlike his, they bring the shaker, and pour table side into your martini glass. Since he was driving, he stopped there...I had two more of those delicious drinks with dinner!
Now my husband does not like, what he calls "weeds" in his salad. He only like iceburg or romaine. So, most of time he will opt for a Ceasar salad (as no surprises on what type of green was used). So, obviously, his was good. But, my salad was very good. I had the house salad which had 'greens', cranberries, light cheese, and dressed lightly with my choice of balsamic vinergrette! It was very good!
My husband, went with his stand by "ribeye" steak and baked potato. Since I could not decide! (and will come back and try others), I went with the "special", which is my "kryptonite" when it comes to fish. As soon as he said the words "Chillean Sea Bass" with broccollini and shrimp. I knew that was what I was having. Both meals were "melt in mouth" very good, once we got them. There seemed to be a delay in the kitchen with getting the food out. Could not believe, as it took about an half hour to just get our salad! We asked our guy who brought us our salads (who was not our waiter), what took so long, and he said it was the kitchen which was backed up. Our waiter was actully prompt in filling our water and getting my extra martinis.
We were stuffed, so we orderd a key lime pie to go. We ate it later at home (and not much "key lime" flavor to it). We were saddened, as rest of meal was great. We will be back to try other great things on the menu!
