Freedom Bagel Bakery

This place is worth it! I drive from the other side of town (in traffic) just to get their bagels. They are super soft on the inside and a perfect crust on the outside. The bacon is thick and cooked correctly, sausage is amazing! It is all real meat and You don’t have to guess what type of meat it is. Their spreads are always super creamy. I’ve tried a lot of different styles and I’ve never had one that I wouldn’t get again. Today Natalie took care of me and my two-year-old daughter.(Not sure of the spelling on the name) The customer service that she provided was exceptional and just reminded me why I drive so far to purchase these bagels. I pass up four or five other bagel shops to get to this one. I love the name and what they stand for!

Make the trip to for this tasty bagel spot and you likely will not be disappointed. Seriously, don’t let the amount of stars scare you away if you are able to pop in, in-person. This is 100% due to their inability to manage delivery orders or ensure the correct items are produced and placed into the proper bag. We’ve ordered via delivery twice now-multiple months apart, and both times, over half of the order has been wrong. With so many other great bagel spots in town, I can’t imagine we’ll give them another shot.

I've been ordering this place for a few months now pretty much every single day I've skipped a few here and there. This is the second time of finding hair in my food on my food etc. Last time it was a blonde and this time pink dyed hair. Pretty disgusting if you ask me. PLEASE have your employees pay better attention I also work in food hair down to my butt and have never had this happen in the 10 years of working with food. I love this place and would hate to have to stop ordering completely if I find another hair etc.

Whoa, where has this place been all my life? I pass by this place constantly and always loved the name. But, I’m not really a bagel person… at least until now. I decided to wander in here while waiting for my car at the tire shop nearby. I didn’t realize Freedom Bagel’s shop would be so welcoming! It’s more spacious than I thought inside, super clean, and has places to sit outdoors. I was greeted with smiles when I walked in, and everything on the menu looked so good I had a hard time deciding. I went for a very simple bacon egg and cheese original bagel, figuring that a good bagel shop should be able to do such a simple thing decently. But the bagel itself was more delicious than I expected. Even visually- when I unwrapped it I actually said, “whoa”. It was hot and fresh. The bacon and egg was cooked to perfection and the cheese was nice and melty. I am VERY impressed and so glad I decided to stop in. I also operate a rental unit just across the parking lot so will be suggesting this place for guests from now on!

Ordered bagels, assorted cream cheese, and coffee for a meeting and it was a HUGE hit! Everyone couldn’t stop talking about how soft and flavorful the bagels were- especially the spreadable cream cheese. My new favorite bagel shop!

May have found our new bagel spot! So much better then Blue Sky. Bagel sandwiches were amazing, especially the garlic parmesan one! Staff was friendly and parking was easy. Not a lot of seating, about 3 tables outside and 3 to 4 inside so on busy days may have to get it to go!

An incredible local bagel place, they make a wide variety of delicious fresh sourdough bagels 🥯; some fun options thrown in there like a cinnamon toast and others. They also serve peets coffee. They have a wide variety of delicious breakfast bagel options and lunch options. I can't recommend this place enough. One of my favorite cream cheeses they make is an idaho blueberry/Huckleberry one. You definitely need to check this place out.

Great food. The bagels are quality and the value is great. It's pretty affordable. I'll probably never sit in line at Joe mamas ever again. Or any breakfast place that has an hour long wait. I can get my family of four in and out in 30 minutes here. Kids are happy with a churro bagel with Nutella. I recommend the ultimate meat trio breakfast sandwich.

Great Bagels. Love to take them and surprise clients but frustrated as they don't seem to understand "please slice" especially when one is paying $24 a bakers dozen.

4-star - why not 5? They ran out of bagels at like 12:30 (lunch time) and just locked the door. I was floored, a bagel place running out of bagels, seriously so bizarre. The food? It's actually pretty dang good. Had a bagel sammy (a club I think) and it was solid. Good service, no long wait. All in all, it's a place I would return BUT I would be concerned if they were actually open even if it was business hours.

Their bagels are always fresh and good. Last time we went we got less smoke salmon on our bagel. I do understand inflation but I'd rather pay a little extra for the same amount as before. Definitely recommend though

Our go-to bagel spot! I love that they have a variety of bagels and change flavors often. The customer service as always amazing! My only complaint is that they don't seem to clean the knife every time they cut the bagels (I found some green what I am assuming is avocado on my bagel that did not have anything green).

I was quite impressed with the quality of the bagels and topping proportion inside. Definitely worth its price. The bagel was not too thick but just enough to get a crispy, savory bite. They have a machine that squeezes fresh orange juice right in front of you and it was refreshing and sweet! One of my top bagels shops to go to for a delightful breakfast. The space is small but they do have a small patio outside if you wanted to enjoy breakfast outside. Everyone working was welcoming and friendly.

Freedom Bagel Bakery is serving up fresh bagels and sandwiches. Their bagels are soft. I think they're the closest you can get to NY style bagels in the side of the US. They offer a variety of hot and cold drinks, including matcha lattes. Their dining area is always clean. I love their patriotic decor as well. Definitely recommend this bagel bakery!

Today I stopped into Freedom Bagel because of a recommendation from Brent in Hawaii! :-) Ordered a toasted bagel with cream cheese and it was delicious. Toasted perfectly and generous volume of cream cheese. Nice location on Eagle Rd, but easy to miss, add to your GPS! Plenty of park f and easy access once you pull into the lot.

I have been meaning to try this bagel joint and I'm happy I did today! Walking in, you felt welcomed. I was greeted right away. There were a few staff members working and they all had smiles on their faces. That's a great way to start someone's day. I took a minute to look over the menu since it was my first time there. No one made me feel like I was taking too long which was nice. It's the worst feeling being rushed. I grabbed a plain bagel with light smear for my husband and I grabbed an egg, sausage and cheese on a jalapeno bagel. They had so many fun options so they will definitely be a must try next time. My breakfast sammy was delicious! The texture of the bagel was chewy and not dense. It was perfectly toasted. The jalapenos in top had a good amount of heat but not overwhelming. The sausage patty they used was savory and thick. The jalapeno cream cheese added nice flavor to the bagel and it had a good amount of heat to it as well! What I liked most was the egg. I liked that it was fried and not a generic egg patty that is basically a scrambled egg patty. It made the sammy that much better!! I was only able to eat half of it. It's quite the breakfast sammy. Living on the other end of town has it's perks but man, I hate that this joint is clear across town for me. They are pushing some fantastic bagels! I can't wait to go back.

10:15 AM in the morning, imagine this, you're dreaming of a freedom bagel and I do have to say they are excellent! You walk in the store and they're out of most bagels and the answer is should've come in at seven we had more than. Question will you be baking more today? No, that's it for the rest of the day. Question, isn't that your business? Answer we do very well! The number one product that they're selling is bagels, I'm sorry what was I thinking? After discouraged I googled bagels drove 1 mile down the street and the second picture is what I found.

Quick update for anyone coming here after work and you are rushing to get here before they close. You better get here at least 30 minutes before 2. So they close at 2pm. I got off work and rushed here from downtown boise. I got here seven minutes before closing hoping they were still open, since technically it was not 2pm. Nope. Doors are locked and lights are off. People are inside and they are all done for the day. I absolutely love these bagels, but do not try to rush here after work thinking you can beat them before they close. If you are even close to their closing time, you won't make it. Save yourself the disappointment, time, gas, drive through Eagle road traffic. Not worth the trouble. Super disappointed. At least there is an Auntie Anne's pretzels right here.

Guys please please please check the tickets when your making bagels. Double check, triple check. I love this place and the bagels are always delicious but the last 4 times I've ordered bagels they were made wrong or something was left out. It's so extremely disappointing coming home to open up our bagels that we paid money for and they are wrong. I highly suggest that everyone check their bagels before taking them home. This morning was the 4th time they've forgotten something, and it's my husband's birthday today 8/23. Pleeeeeeease make sure the orders are correct before wrapping them up. Also, apparently they don't bag bagels anymore? Only the online orders? I watched 3 customers, plus myself get handed 4+ bagels and when we asked for them to be bagged we got bags shoved at us. Have a team meeting, remind your bagel makers they need to pay attention to the tickets and not shove bags at customers when they want a bag for 3-4+ bagels.

I'm a huge bagel snob and I am always extremely satisfied every time I come here. The staff is kind and always have great attitudes, even when they are completely slammed. I also always notice how well they work together as a team. The bagel itself is made to perfection, they are always fresh and toasted to perfection. The ingredients taste good and I have never had an issue here. The store is a bit smaller when it comes to seating, but I prefer taking it to go so that does not bother me.

My go to is the sunrise sandwich on a jalapeño bagel, delicious! The pepper plant sauce that they put on it is tangy and savory and imo compliments the sandwich well. The staff is also always very nice.

Great bagels, great orange juice and great service. I really wish they had a sausage breakfast sandwich. I'd probably go there all the time if they did. Definitely recommend for bagels none the less!

Amazing bagel! The bacon was so yummy and crunchy. They make everything in house fresh daily. I would recommend this spot! Came after church around 12:50pm and almost all the bagels were gone which led us to try the mustard bagel... 10/10!!

My husband and I were starving but didn't want something that was too heavy for our stomachs. We decided on bagels so we googled near by and came across this little bagel bakery. I got the New Yorker which is salmon, cream cheese and capers. It was bomb. My husband got the BLT one and it was packed with bacon. Definitely will be going back.

This establishment serves the best bagles around. Whether you oder the bagle with cream cheese, or have it made into a sandwich, it is the best in the valley. I personally like there jalapeno bagle with jalapeno cream cheese, and their jalapeno bagle dog. When craving a sandwich you cannot go wrong with the Yellowstone, start with a bagle of your choice, add tri-tip steak, jack cheese, chimichurri, tomato and lettus. Yum yum. They also serve fresh squeezed orange juice which you can watch them squeeze it right in front of you. I know that Santa make a visit their in uniform in December. I also heard he stops by the rest of the year as well, but not in the red suit. So keep your eyes open.

Here are some initial results from the great bagel search of Southern Idaho. The same Lox and bagel sandwich with two extra bagels that Freedom Bagel Bakery charged $17.46 was $12.43 at Blue Sky Bagels. The difference of over $5 could be used to buy nearly a dozen of "day old" bagels at Blue Sky. One has to wonder why Freedom Bagel Bakery didn't have some bags of "day old" bagels for sale during my visit. Could Freedom actually know exactly how many bagels to make? Because if they do, thousands of bagel shops across this country would love to know the secret. The $1.99 bagel shown on the receipt could have been purchased for 50 cents if one wanted a day old bagel at Blue Sky. Hey, who can't eat a reheated, day old bagel? Just a note on packaging. WOW! A GIANT BROWN BAG AROUND A STYROFOAM CLAMSHELL, plus a bag for the extra bagels along with napkins and other misc paper. Is it any wonder that their trash cans are overflowing in the dining area? Freedom Bagel must be carrying a lot of overhead costs due to their location. Maybe if they rethink their packaging, it could be reflected in their prices. As to their Lox and Cream cheese on a bagel standard menu item at all bagel shops, this one ranked pretty low. The level of saltiness was overpowering. They need to rinse the capers with water and choose salmon that isn't brined as a preservative. Essentially, they got nearly everything wrong in their New Yorker. It would shame a native New Yorker to come here.

I got breakfast sandwiches here and they were SO good! I had the a turkey sandwich bagel and my husband had the Five Star! They were both filling and had great flavor and we could totally tell that those bagels were fresh! The staff was very kind as well. I ordered take out this time, but we will be back when we aren't on the go to eat inside. It is a really cute spot with lots of great natural lighting inside.

This place is great! The staff is friendly, it's very clean, inviting and easy-going environment, and absolutely DELICIOUS bagels at a good price. Worth the drive from Boise on our way to shop at the Village. Glad to have found our new bagel spot I wish I'd taken a picture of our food but it disappeared quickly

The bagels are fresh and very flavorful. I got the bagel sandwich with sausage, egg and cheddar cheese. It was the best I've ever had. The service was amazing. They were so accommodating and helpful. It's a quaint little spot but only open till 2 PM so you better get there early if you wanna grab some amazing bagels

While I was expecting a bigger seating area, it was quite limited with small tables. That being said, the bagels are very good. I enjoyed each bite, never feeling that even a bit was off. All the ingredients worked together to provide a very satisfactory breakfast.

The bagels are one of the best in the valley! They are always so kind and the service is so fast even when they are busy! It's a must stop !! The jalapeño bagels are the best!!!

You won't find a better bagel sandwich. There is no question this business is doing what it's best at. Every version of a bagel sandwich you have dreamed about is here! Amazing service every time I've been there and they have an operation that gets your food out to you fast, hot and your order is correct!

Let Freedom Ring! I am a bagel addict and have been since the early days of The Bagel Bakery, in Carmel, California. When I moved to Boise, I frequented the bagel store near me and while they were good, they were so incredibly hard, like rock hard, all the time. What I missed so much about the Bagel Bakery in Carmel was the semi-hard exterior and oh-so-soft fluffiness inside. Like I said, Let Freedom Ring! Freedom Bagel Bakery is located off of Eagle Road across from the newly opened Land Ocean and sandwiched between Discount Tire and Jimmy John's Freedom has the bagel usual suspects but they also have some creative gems plus they are one of the few if not the only ones to have Jalapeno Cheddar done every so spectacularly. Hot Honey is my son's favorite and he says it's magical. Rosemary and Sea Salt is good, really good. Don't sleep on this one. There's an Italian version of Everything that is my new addiction, I don't remember the name but it should be called, 'Il Bacio Dello chef' aka Chef's kiss as it is that good. On one visit the team at Freedom created Churro Bagels. All of these delish bagels are on display in the case and there are cream cheeses and spreads as well. Some of the spreads are Whipped Salted Butter Strawberry Jam Sunflower Butter Local Honey Nutella Some of the flavors are Loaded Idaho Potato Black Olive and Artichoke Blueberry and Huckleberry, which is my son's favorite The service from the team and the owners are genuine and caring, and very neighboring, which is awesome. Service hasn't been the same for a while and nice to see genuine service on a day-to-day basis at Freedom. The interior looks small when you enter but there's some additional seating down the hallway towards the back. Head over to Freedom and yap it up with John, the proprietor, you can't miss him, he's got the biggest smile you'll see from anyone who works with food and customers. With a wide grin and an open mouth stuffed with an everything bagel, I recommend Freedom Bagel Bakery. Let Freedom Ring for you.

The selection is great. Awesome little shop. They have a few tall tables to sit and enjoy the music, the views and have a good conversation with friends. They have additional seating towards the back as well. The OJ is freshly squeezed. We basically ordered a little bit of everything this first time around.

Easy to get to from I-84, clean & super friendly. We had the bacon, egg & cheese sandwich on cheddar bagels. Really wonderful! Same for the churro bagel!

I wrote 3 stars because the service today was so disappointing. The food is amazing and the service is usually so friendly and happy. But today we waited 25 minutes for 3 bagels and an OJ. After about 10-15 minutes we were notified that our order was given to the wrong family and the woman immediately placed blame on the family. Zero responsibility. 15 minutes into waiting after that we ask for the order to be taken to go and the woman spoke back "well I said i apologize" like I said amazing food but today might not have been a good day for her. ‍

I arrived on 10/26 at 7:45am. Owner, John H. took my order and was friendly and professional. Young girl with dark, short hair prepared my bagel, but was NOT friendly. I told her, "thank you" and she never made eye contact and never responded. Yes, I said it loud enough as I was only customer in the store. How could she already be in a bad mood so early? Bagel was toasted well and had the proper chew. The bagel was a good size and good price. The garlic/herb cream cheese has a great garlic flavor, but the texture was off and strange. Is it just cream cheese and flavors or is there some odd filler? They definitely need their parking stripes repainted as well. it is easy to park over the ADA parking spot as it is difficult to see. The menu link here on Google is not secure and will not load. They do not have a regular website link available here. The bagel was very good and I would return, but I would hope that service and flavored spread would improve.

We love this bagel shop. Its clean, the staff is friendly and the bagels are fresh and delicious. They have amazing breakfast sandwiches. We love the broncos bagel which is only for college game day. if you are in the area stop in, enjoy the small patio and smell the fresh smell of bagels!

Fantastic! Bage sandwichesl are delicious and unique. The shop is a little bit victim of its own success, always very busy. But, that won't stop me from coming back!

This has become our new bagel place. Love the soft warm texture of the bagels. My favorite of course is the Cheddar Jack Bagel. I like my breakfast bagel warmed in the microwave for like 20 seconds. We've been coming here now for 2 weeks and have tried every single breakfast sandwich. They all are excellent. I can't wait until they get some outside tables to sit at. This place definitely rocks when it comes to bagels.

Great unique selection of bagel flavors and they also make sandwiches! Well began ones lol. Had a smoked salmon one which is my favorite, a lot of cream cheese for my taste but that was all I had to gripe about. I will say that their branding is so off. It's supposed to be a New York bagel joint but the name and logo makes it feel like a right wing grab your gun bagel shop instead. I think with better branding they would do better.

Delicious bagels! They taste so fresh, and they are the best bagels I've had in the Treasure Valley. Really friendly people working there, and the store is cute. There are several small tables & bar seating. Lots of drinks to choose from including freshly squeezed orange juice.

Loved the Loaded Potato Bagel. Will definitely be back to try something new. They have an amazing selection of different kinds of bagels. And the service was friendly! A must visit

I used to live in New York, and this place tastes like home. The joint is clean and they have sweet and savory options for all tastes.

Best bagels outside of New York City. But a bit of advice for the owner. Train cash register staff ask questions. I purchased 4 bagels this morning. I planned to drop one off at my wife's workplace. I asked the person at the register, "If you have a pat of butter you could throw in one or the bags, that would be helpful." She indicated she could do that. I realized later she put container of butter in the bag and charged me about $2.49. (Total was $11.08.) How do you think that made me feel? As the saying goes, a word to the wise is sufficient. Still...best bagels outside of NYC. I wish you success.

We ordered 2 bagels for pick up this morning. When we got home with our order, neither of our bagels were correct. So we paid extra to add things that we did not get. Make sure you check your order before leaving!

I loved the set up of this place. You don't think it's important, but having the bagels right there to visually see and their names makes it easier for picking what you want. The menu is simple and not too overwhelming. The atmosphere is great. I did go in around 11 and a lot of things were sold out and there wasn't any people so that could have a bit to do with that but either way the staff was super friendly. I asked about how they cooked the bagels. I've lived in Boise for 13 years and have yet to have a good quality bagel. When I was in college, I worked for a bagel place in Wyoming that had some of the best bagels ever and it was because they proofed their bagels and this place proofs their bagels as well so maybe that's it. Either way this bagel snob loved it! I had the Monte Cristo and it was sooo good! I even tried a bite of my son's chocolate chip bagel with strawberry cream cheese, and again I was pleasantly surprised.

Bagels are an excellent size and there are plenty of varieties to choose from. They don't skimp on the spread and the coffee isn't too shabby either. Customer service was excellent and efficient. There is lovely outdoor seating as well as indoor. The ambiance is calm and decor is modern.

I grew up in Fair Lawn, New Jersey, where we had some of the most amazing bagels at River Road Hot Bagels. (Sorry New Yorkers, but you gotta move over). Since I left Jersey, I settled for the mediocre to decent bagels I'd find throughout California and now in Idaho. Blue Sky is nice and cheap, but doesn't have the flavor. This, THIS is the closest I've gotten to a really good bagel in a very long time and it reminds me of home. I even tried Goldsteins downtown when they opened and it doesn't hit the spot like this does. My husband and I love the Sunrise bagels and it's pretty much what we get every time now. Love this place and will continue to come here regularly with my family. The only thing they're missing is the Taylor Ham (for those who know what I mean).
