Freed's Dessert Shop

Freed's has made many cakes for me over the years. Whether I'm custom ordering desserts or just stopping in to grab something ready-made from the cooler, these guys never disappoint. Cakes are always moist and flavorful with precise decorations. The custom Godzilla cake they did for my son's bday was phenomenal! I also love all their cookies and buy a box for my staff and for gifts during the holidays (they are always gobbled up!). Their rugelach cookies are particularly addicting.

I ordered a Lemon Cake w/ Bavarian Cream & Strawberry Puree. Overall the cake was ok… Cake was moist, the Bavarian cream was light & not overly sweet. The disappointing part was the strawberry puree or the lack of. It honestly would have been a great cake if more purée was actually in it. I could not taste any strawberry flavor, which made the cake pretty bland.. Did they run out and not want to make more?.. maybe..did they stretch the thinest possible layer over the cake, YES… for a $60 cake I was really disappointed.. I usually love a good lemon cake but sadly this was not one of them. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Save your money. My last order with this place was this last weekend: and i probably won’t go back, the first time i ordered it was for my kids graduation in May: I had a dozen strawberry cupcakes which were phenomenal. Went back this last weekend and bought the assorted flavors. And it tasted like it came from a cheap grocery store shelf. The icings tasted stale and thick like you know cheap cupcakes. I took a bite of each flavor and each one was sub par. For 46.00 i expected more. I would never go back at this point… I can’t believe I wasted 46 bucks on a dozen cupcakes

Ordered a Vegas theme cake for a friend's birthday. As usual Freeds cake is the best in LV. The staff at this location is fun and attentive. They called me 2x to make sure I'm getting there on time to pick up the cake.

Great experience, friendly staff. I walked in on my birthday and was greeted and helped. I picked the strawberry shortcake and it was delicious!

I requested their help with making a fairy house cake for my daughter. I gave them an inspiration picture and boy did they deliver. It was the most amazing cake we have ever had. My daughter was so in love with it, she almost didn't want to cut it. Thank you so much Freed's Bakery and Team for creating some amazing memories for my daughter's 4th birthday. Tried to order a 6-pack of cookies for my mom’s birthday - she lives down the street from this bakery so I thought local delivery would be easy. $50 delivery for a $45 box of cookies is absolutely insane. I don’t care how good the cookies are, there is no reason for the delivery fee to be more than the product, especially when the delivery distance is less than a mile.

This review is specifically for the Parisian Chocolate cake. Words cannot describe how strongly I feel for this cake. IT IS SO GOOD! The light, airy, moist cake paired with the chocolate frosting is perfection. This has been my go to birthday cake for years. It's quite pricey for a cake so a birthday is the perfect occasion to splurge on it. I'll be honest, I haven't had anything else at Freeds that has blown my mind. Not really a fan of the cookies. But as a chocolate cake lover, I have to give this place 5 stars. Service is always great!

Visited here again and still love it. Cake cookies are still the favorite of my kids clean and good service. Quiet and not too busy. We tried the cupcake this time also and that was tasty. Butter cookies were also okay but cake cookies are still the winner!!!

I'm glad they finally opened up a new location near me and everyone here always seems to be so nice. They have a smaller selection compared to their Henderson location but still a lot of choices to choose from.

Dry cake! dry strawberries! Never going back again I told cashier if I can get the cake looking a bit better and if I can have fresh strawberries but she said the cakes aren't made their they are shipped to the store

I love the individual cake slices at Freed's. It's such a good way to be able to try different flavors. The cannoli cake is a must-try! Recently we tried the cheesecake slices - Oreo and peanut butter-- wow, what a treat! The cheesecake is even better than I could have expected! I would also suggest the Boston cream pie cupcake. You really can't go wrong with anything at Freed's.

I purchased a birthday cake for my son and it was by far the best cake we've have ever had in the North Las Vegas area. The cake was moist and the triple layer of cream inside made it truly delicious. The service was quick and I was on my way after spending only 9 minutes in the store including time for the employee to box the cake. The store ambiance is standard for a bakery which was clean! Purchased 3 of their Dubai chocolate brownie and never again. The entire pastry was extremely dry and lacked the Dubai chocolate taste. I wish i could get my money back. I ate half of one and couldn't keep going. I ended up throwing the rest away. If you are looking for a Dubai chocolate brownie I recommend going to Whiskful bakery or BAKE in Las Vegas

What a TREAT!!! Celebrating National Chocolate Cake Day with 2 slices of Chocolate cake for $10!!!! One bite of each slice was well worth it!!!! I got the Parisian and the Blackout, sooooooo good!!! Service was absolutely fantastic as always, they have a way of making you feel special right when you walk in. Ambiance was good, they have a jar of jelly beans...you get to guess how many are in the jar. I was just excited to guess, I don't even know if you win a prize! I guess y'all are gonna have to go and check it out for yourself. I know I will be back for more deliciousness!!

Freed's is a Las Vegas treasure. I heard about them long before I relocated to Vegas and was delighted to see this northside location within delivery range. This review is strictly for my delivery order - our strawberry shortcake and funfetti slices were soft and fluffy upon arrival despite ordering toward the end of the day. The thing about Freed's is - you are always going to get quality. I was impressed with how carefully our sliced were packaged and presented. I will eventually go into the shop, but I'm grateful for food delivery!

I have wanted to try out this place for quite sometime. I decided to stop by this weekend to sample a slice of cake and possibly purchase a birthday cake next month. When I walked in, immediately I saw rows of cakes and cookies on display. The display cases were fully stocked so I took my time and looked over all of the selection of goodies. As I looked on there was a girl at the front counter, she didn't say anything she just watched. It would have been nice if she had asked if I needed assistance or if I was looking for anything in particular. She began talking only once I asked about what the most popular cake was. She was friendly but I feel like customers should always be engaged when entering a business. I purchased a slice of cake to go. I decided on the strawberry shortcake. It was neatly packaged in a narrow box that held the cake upright. I would say overall the cake was really good. It was moist and the whipped cream was perfectly sweetened.

Ordered a graduation cake and it was almond cake with Bavarian cream filling. Cake was light, fluffy and flavored well! I asked for the design I bought with flowers to be balloons instead. Turned out great! I ordered cupcakes from another place, also delicious!

Ever since I moved to Vegas I've been coming to Freed's and the last 10 years my bday cake has come from here . They never disappoint. The only Place I know where I can get wedding cake by the slice !

The chocolate covered caramel one was my fav out of 4 I chose! Cookies were light and not too sweet just the right amount and they are bite size for a little treat! Tip * make sure to get a milky beverage as this will make this experience more amazing Service was amazing!! Girl with the glasses was very nice and awesome ! The place was a nice shop very clean! Recommended for all my sweet lovers.

I just ordered a birthday cake for my husband. It was made according to my specs. Instructions were followed to the "T". The cake was delicious. Great service at the store. The ambiance was very pleasant.

Shoutout to ALLY, who helped us at this visit. We got the new DUBAI chocolate Brownie, and some Cookies and of course my fav Parisian slice cake. ALLY was so patient, professional and nice. They're about to close and she didn't rushed us. This location is lucky to have her.

I'm pissed off right now! My fianc'ee wanted to come here and get something sweet to go with our free Veterans Day dinner since it was Veterans Day and we are both vets. I had a place set up to go to and get free desserts but she wanted to come here! All desserts we left with had not flavor at all! And we purchased them instead of going to the bakery where I normally go to! Im not writing this for free desserts I just expect to get what I pay for!

What more can I say than AMAZING AND DELICIOUS!!!! Freeds never fails us! This blackout cake was unbelievable!! So moist, creamy frosting and buttercream... just wonderful!!!!~If you LOVE Chocolate, THIS is the cake for YOU!

I got a birthday cake slice from here through doordash- It looks really good but the frosting kind of just tastes like whipped butter and the filling is very similar but its more of a custard type thing. If i was desperate for a sweet treat fast i would order from here again.

Lovely small location for the bakery with a display case that will leave you dazzled. It's difficult to choose between the gorgeous rows of cookies, macarons, cakes, and cheesecakes... there's brownies in there somewhere too, and rugelach on a side table ready to go! The Parisian Chocolate Cake is remarkably light for so much chocolate; the filling is just the right amount of sweet. Tried a variety of cookies as well which were all great, my favorite being the Almond Cake Cookie. The only letdown was the Thumbprint Shortbread which seemed a bit bland , but that's not a huge issue. Plenty of desserts in Las Vegas are overhyped and overpriced -- this was worth the hype and the cost.

I placed an order online. I'm satisfied that it was ready when I got there to pick it up but their customer service is horrible. The girls working that day didn't even greet me and the one that helped me was very rude. I am really big on customer service. I can't review the cupcakes since I bought them as a gift.

Yelp Review 2023 #284: I've been going to Freed's on Eastern for several years to get customized cakes. When this location on 215 and Decatur opened a few years ago, it was a relief because it's closer to home. I've gotten cakes and cookies from Freed's for potlucks and birthdays. And for Thanksgiving, I've picked up pecan pie, pumpkin pie, and apple pie for the past 3-4 years. My favorite is pecan pie - I love to eat it, and I love making it. When I don't have time or energy to make pecan pie, I can trust Freed's to make good pecan pie. I've gotten store bough pies and the pecans are barely there. Freed's uses more pecans than other stores. However, on my last visit the day before Thanksgiving, I got 2 pecan pies and an apple pie. The filing tasted off on the pecan pie. The pecans tasted a bit rancid. Maybe, it was not a good batch. Am I going to get pies here for next Thanksgiving? More than likely yes. If it's still not good, I'll just make my own. The ladies here are nice and helpful though. They also have a rewards system. So the more you buy, the more points you accumulate and you get free stuff.

Cute little place, lots of pretty desserts, nice employees. Only kind of weird thing is they have a huge area they sectioned off in the front breezeway area, with ZERO tables. What's the point of that? I don't know. They want you to just take your single piece of cake and shove it in your face in the privacy of your own car I guess. Other than that. It's okay. Had a chocolate peanut butter cheesecake, hubby had a tiramisu. It's not Cheesecake Factory yummy, but it's good enough to satisfy your sweet tooth.

I must say i wasn't too impressed. The site itself is clean. The staff was sorry nice but overall the flavor of eveything we ate was basic Nothing that was wow.

I just left from the Freed's on North Decatur and couldn't be happier. Customer service that I received was impeccable. It is one in the afternoon on Saturday September 7th and I was greeted with a genuine smile and helpfulness. What she didn't know, is that I just left a funeral and came in for a little something sweet to pick up my spirits. Thank you for being in the right place at the right time.

I believe my bill was $49. The six pieces were in pairs. The cream puffs were good. The cakes, the Black Forest cherry cake and a carrot cake were frankly inedible. I was in disbelief as I had gone to get special desert to close a special dinner. Very disappointed.

I just wanted to express my profound disappointment in the cake I purchased at the North Las Vegas Decatur location. The outside frosting was just OK, I couldn't tell if there was a Barvarian creme filling, and none of the guests knew either. The cake was dry, like it had been frozen. I expected a freshly baked cake with yummy frosting and a great filling. Honestly, I could have gotten the same or probably better if I purchased the cake at Wal-Mart and save $40. While my guests were so excited to see the cake was from Freed's Bakery, I noticed very few finished the piece of cake they received. Needless to say, I won't purchase another one. (A box of Pillsbury cake mix and a can of frosting is fresher and tastier.)

I was craving something sweet, so I decided to drop in to Freed's. They offer a variety of homemade sweets. Cookies, cakes, cupcakes, ice cream sandwhiches, and rice Krispy treats. I was craving macaroons, so I got a couple to try. I was very disappointed in them. They are expensive and taste nothing like the flavors they say. They also lack the macaroon texture. I was super glad I only got 2. The black out cake also looked amazing, so I got a slice of it. The frosting and fudge they use is incredible! Not overly sweet. The cake was on the dry side, though. It was like it had sat out for a few days. It kind of killed it for me. The strawberry filled cake was good and still moist for the most part. Again, it's not an overly sweet cake. For a bakery, the freshness didn't seem to be there. The girl behind the counter was nice and helpful. The store is clean. A very small grab and go bakery. I would try the blackout cake again. The frosting was really crave worthy. I just hope the cake is more fresh next time.

We made 2 separate orders of custom Portrait cookies for my kids birthdays and both They came out awesome! It was about $30 for 6 and $55 for a dozen. Ordering online was nice and simple. We were able to upload the image, choose if we wanted the cookies individually wrapped, along with what shape we wanted them (square or circle) and give any special details we may have wanted. They were a hit with the kids and my daughter loved seeing her face on the cookies! If i'm being honest, i didn't get to taste the cookies but I also didn't get complaints from those who did. Definitely a cute little addition to the desert table.

Walking into Freed's Bakery should honestly come with a warning sign that says: "Abandon all willpower, ye who enter here." From the moment you open the door, the smell alone grabs you by the soul and gently whispers, "You're not leaving here without carbs, sweetheart." Let's start with the cannoli because OH. MY. GOD. Biting into a Freed's cannoli is like getting a love letter straight from Italy... hand-delivered by someone's Nonna who's been baking for 80 years and judges you for not visiting more often. The shell is perfectly crisp -- like, crunchy but not break-your-tooth crunchy -- and the filling is perfectly rich and creamy. And the cupcakes? Freed's cupcakes aren't those sad little grocery store cupcakes with three inches of lard frosting and regret. No -- these are thick, moist, how is it possible for a cake to hug my emotions kind of cupcakes. They've got flavors that will make you want to start arguments with your friends just so you don't have to share. I caught myself side-eyeing a six-year-old over the last vanilla sprinkle one -- no shame. The only downside? Now every birthday party, wedding, or baby shower feels like a huge disappointment if it's not catered by Freed's.

I was so excited to splurge on a cake for my Birthday. Freed's on Decatur. The pics and reviews looked great but we were Super disappointed. I wish I would've made my own cake, even from a box. The only thing that was good was the appearance. We ate the cake just a few hours after purchasing it. It was a vanilla cake. The cake was small for the $49 we paid. It was very dry and crumbly and had no flavor. I don't like the cream stuff inside - it didn't taste good and I would've preferred frosting to cream anyways. The frosting on the outside tasted like nothing and left a thick film in your mouth like eating crisco. It didn't taste like real butter. The worst part was the candy balls that I tried to avoid but all 7 of us eating it kept hurting our teeth on these hard crunchy decorative balls and none of us could finish the small slice we each had. The whole thing went into the trash. I would expect a stand alone bakery to use high quality ingredients and focus on the quality and flavors rather than just appearance. Agreed with the other review that Walmart bakery would have saved $'s.

I love their cakes sometimes I just go get a slice for a snack. My husband tried a cannoli and that was really good. Service was good . It was nice and clean in there.

Clean, cute little shop with a variety of slices of cake, cookies, macaroons ect. Great customer service, very informative went to order a birthday cake, but this location actually doesn't take the orders you have to call or go into their Eastern Location. I asked if they had a list of cakes that they can do, but she said to check out their online and that they can create any type of cake that I find that I like on the web. They do however have someone deliver the cake to any location of your preference.

They are great. Everything there is fab. They had King Cake around Mardi Gras. Very nice. Exceptionally great service, always. So glad they have dessert shop in my area.

Everyone I know loves loves loves Freed's. I came here for a last minute cake pick up, I needed to get an anniversary cake for someone at work. I called ahead and they said yes they had plenty of choices. I picked the cannoli cake and had her write in green icing (that was the theme, green) happy anniversary, no extra charge. The cake itself was $42 and I felt that was fair for the size, quality, and look. The front display looked very appealing and everything looked tasty, though I didn't try. I would like to come back and some some pastries or macaroons.

I was looking g forward to ordering my daughter 20 to 30 Umar birthday cake. But they only take orders online e or over phone. Couldn't actually talk to a person and show them what I wanted. I could send them a picture online. So much for face to face customer service. Going elsewhere.

The cake was delicious. It was for my father in law's 90th and everyone was so pleased with the size and flavor of the cake. The cake was ready earlier than expected which was a plus. The staff was friendly and boxed it so nicely to avoid damaging while transporting it. Overall we had a great experience and will definitely come back for more delicious cakes.

Great selection of cakes, etc. wife and I agree strawberry shortcake was tops of the four kinds we tried.

Absolutely love their Parisian chocolate cake! It's delicious, just the right amt of sweet and moist. I got it for a birthday and placed my order online for delivery via their website and it came exactly when I requested it along with the decorations I had asked for. Thanks so much.

I ordered a birthday cake for myself. I called and the lady was very professional. She helped me decide what I wanted. What kind of cake I wanted the size that I wanted the frosting that I wanted and of course the date and time that I wanted to pick it up in the place that I wanted to pick it up because this bakery has at least four establishments in the Las Vegas area and I wanted to pick mine up in North Las Vegas so she made that possible on the birthday the baby before I picked the cake up brother at home and on my birthday after cutting into it and tasting it it was wonderful and me and my girlfriend Hass ended up eating most of the cake ourselves. It is really I definitely will be ordering more bakery items from them and I certainly would recommend them to Anyone

One of my friends is fairly new to the Las Vegas area. After a Costco trip, I knew I just had to introduce her to Freed's. This location is smaller than the huge shop in Henderson, but I don't mind because it's nice to have access to Freed's without having to drive across town. I ordered the strawberry shortcake slice and some macarons. I'm usually not a huge fan of strawberry shortcake because the texture or something is always a bit off. However, Freed's has the best strawberry shortcake ever. The whipped cream is the perfect texture and it's not too light or too dense. The cake itself was fantastic as well and held up beautifully against the cream. The macarons were also delicious. Actually, everything I've ever gotten from a Freed's location has been delicious. Overall, I can't recommend Freed's enough to locals and visitors alike. Their quality and freshness is unrivaled!
