Where To Eat When You’re Visiting Seattle

"This rickety house and its wraparound porch are as much of a Fremont staple as the troll, and the eternally creaking space is as iconic as their phenomenal coffee. It’s ideal for spending a rainy afternoon, hanging out in one of the shop’s tiny rooms sipping a cappuccino. Fremont Coffee Company’s curated syrup combinations have some nuance (like strawberry shortbread or raspberry cheesecake). You can also count on the baristas to make fun foam art shapes like hearts, leaves, or skeleton heads." - aimee rizzo, kayla sager riley

The 19 Best Coffee Shops In Seattle

"This rickety house and its wraparound porch is a Fremont staple, and the eternally creaking space is as iconic as their phenomenal coffee. In fact, if you haven’t spent a rainy afternoon in one of its tiny rooms sipping a cappuccino eight inches away from a complete stranger who’s reading a newspaper, you better make it happen. Fremont Coffee Company’s curated syrup combinations are always home runs—they aren’t sickly sweet, and have some nuance (like strawberry shortbread or raspberry cheesecake). You can also always count on the baristas to make fun foam art shapes like hearts, leaves, or skeleton heads. " - aimee rizzo, gabe guarente

The 19 Best Seattle Cafes To Work In

"Fremont Coffee Company is perfect for when you really want to work from home, but you need to be in public in order to make progress on anything. It’s an old rickety house with a porch, hodgepodge seating arrangements, carpets, and really good coffee. Whether you want a simple americano or a hazelnut soy latte, you probably won’t want to leave, much like your own apartment. And with it located in the center of Fremont, there are plenty of great lunch options nearby." - aimee rizzo

The Best Seattle Coffee Shops With Outdoor Seating

"Sitting on this Fremont coffee shop’s wraparound porch with a stiff coconut iced mocha is one of our favorite ways to spend an hour—aside from watching two episodes of Frasier back-to-back. And if you like to get up early, they open at 6am during the week." - aimee rizzo

Very cozy place. Staff were friendly, helpful and patient when choosing items. Drinks are delicious, as well as pastries, prices are average for area. Would definitely reccomend

Google
This coffee shop has a charming vintage vibe with intimate seating throughout, offering small cozy corners perfect for a quiet escape. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, which is great for any weather. Although it might feel claustrophobic to some with condensed settings. The coffee is consistently great, and the cookies are a tasty treat to go along with it. Little bit on the pricier end. It’s definitely a popular spot, so be prepared for a line, but it’s worth the wait. They have some books and games available to borrow but that shelf looks pretty run down so limited options. Overall, a lovely, cozy place to relax and enjoy a quality cup of coffee.

Google
Fremont Coffee Co. is one of the best spots to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee in Seattle. The cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for unwinding or getting some work done. I tried their cafe latte, and it was incredibly smooth—just the right balance of flavors. The staff is friendly, and the vibe is warm and inviting. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area! Definitely a must-visit for coffee lovers.

Google
There was a line out the door but it moved fast. There’s indoor and outdoor seating available but it was a little crowded and hard to find a table. They also have some gluten free dessert options to choose from.

Google
Awesome staff. Cozy place to do some work. And most importantly Good tasting coffee, definitely try the maple latte.

Google
Ordered a caramel iced latte & I actually thought it was pretty great. It’s interesting - you order with the barista and then say your order again with the cashier. However, I actually thought the cashier was quite rude and cold. I don’t know, it was really off putting. My friends and I all thought the same too. I feel like she kind of forced me to tip as well by asking to look at the screen. If I’m paying $7-8 for a small coffee, you would think they’d be a little nicer??? Disappointed because it was a good cup of coffee but the attitude was distasteful

Google
This is where you come to enjoy classic Fremont casual culture. Nestled in an old 50's era house, the warm and welcoming staff serve great coffee and a good variety of baked goods and a few breakfast options. This place just feels good. Indoor and outdoor seating is comfortable and intimate. Because of the wooden build of the original house, the atmosphere is quiet and cozy. Nothing fancy here. It's very home-like. This is what I prefer for visiting Fremont. It sits in the heart of the artistic community, a short walk to many local features. If you are visiting Fremont from out of town, definitely come to this wonderful original house.

Google
The drinks here are the best. We got the pistachio white chocolate cold brew and the orange vanilla mocha. Perfect outdoor patio for summer and the line went fast

Yelp
I was going to give them 3 stars, but then I felt bad, because I also wanted to mention that the whole beans I picked up from them were delicious and perfectly roasted. So here was my experience: I ordered a cappuccino (extra hot), and unfortunately all I got was something reminiscent of a latte with bubble bath foam/seafoam on top. It was a bit sad considering that this specific coffee shop is know for their latte art. I decided to also grab some whole beans to bring back to LA, and seriously, that was the best decision ever, because my morning coffee these days is what I look forward to THE most. Overall, mid experience with my cappuccino, but what a comeback with the beans!

Yelp
This adorable little coffee place has some beautiful and delectable offerings! But first, what really blew me away was the personal service afforded to us by our barista/server. I failed to get his name, but what a nice guy, who was also very efficient and artistic! ‍ Breakfast burrito is prepared in a panini press. Very fresh, ever so slightly spicy. But if spicy is what you like, add some of the sauce that comes with it. It seems like sriracha mixed with mayo maybe. Very spicy. We also shared cinnamon roll which dude warmed up for us - it was spectacular. Dark roast coffee was very dark and strong and hit the spot. My companion enjoyed their latte very much.

Yelp
Came here after the Sunday fremont market for a little pit stop. The vibes were so nice with crisp weather and sunshine. My friends and I sat outdoors and the seating was very comfortable. I ordered the hot matcha with vanilla. It was pretty good, but nothing crazy. The little devious cat artwork was very cute and made the experience a lot more fun. My friends ordered iced matcha and iced coffee. They both looked good as well. My friend also ordered an overpriced burrito which looked good, but probably not worth $16. Overall service was quick and vibes were nice. i would come again!

Yelp
Incredible coffee! WOWWWW. I was tempted to go to my 'sure thing' coffee house across the street, but I decided to try something new and I AM SO GLAD I DID. It was perfection in a cup. The coffee is so smooth and velvety. The place was just quirky enough for me to fall in love with it. It is quintessential Seattle. The servers, both of them, were fantastic. Great suggestions and recommendations and conversationalist. They made getting coffee a little sweeter and were so warm and friendly. We bought a bag to go too. What a charming place.

Yelp
The lattes here were nearly perfectly extracted. I went for an oat milk latte, while my mother picked 2% milk, and I sampled both. They did open a bit briny, but the finish was decently long and complex. I appreciate that in an espresso joint. On the other hand, the baristas chided us (first-time customers) for ordering wrong. The line passes the baristas before getting to the register, and when I ordered at the register, they realized I hadn't talked to a barista already. Annoyed, the barista tapped the "order here" sign I'd missed - which is aggressive - and then he took my order without ever making eye contact. This front of house dynamic was off-putting. If the baristas are to take orders then they should also watch the line! The baristas are making drinks the whole time the line goes and putting it on customers to interrupt them is totally backwards.

Yelp
I frequent this place a lot after the Fremont Sunday market because it is so close by. Sometimes it's super busy and sometimes you can catch the business before rush-hour. Today we were lucky and came right before a big rush. I got the vanilla iced latte and breakfast burrito. My friends both got the Matcha latte, one iced and one hot. They were very quick to bring out the drinks and the burrito was microwaved before being toasted. I respected them more because the lady right in front of us was pretty rude and the baristas+cashiers handled like it a champ. The only gripe I have is the burrito was $13.5 and I didn't see the price listed when I ordered, but I think that's pretty steep for a frozen burrito... it was delicious but not $10+ delicious. I would've gone to Stone Way Cafe for a fresh one It was pretty crowded inside so we sat outside and it was a nice sunny day. Turnover for tables is pretty quick so I think most of the time it is easy to find a table because there is a lot of seating. When we left around 3pm, the line was out the door and onto the sidewalk.

Yelp
Such a cozy little place with little unique rooms. Barista was amazing with his coffee art skills. This is totally another level of coffee art. Coffee also taste great! Hope to be back to check out pastry.
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee and good neighborhood spot vibe. If you are in the area, stop by and sip a coffee on the patio

Yelp
Stopped by during the Fremont Sunday Market , it was popular with a line out the door. Tried the pistachio cold brew and orange vanilla mocha; both were tasty. Nice space with both indoor and outdoor seating. Great Sunday hangout, will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
I wonder if they make their own almond milk here? There was something rich and delicious about the almond milk latte that I have only tasted at one other coffee shop - so bravo. Got the requisite charming & cute coffee art. I love that it's in a former house, loved the art; yet the small rooms make it a bit difficult to converse at ease (as everyone is right next to each other). Otherwise, a definite must stop in the Fremont neighborhood.

Yelp
Drinks: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Customer service: 5/5 Speed: 3/5 Price: $$ Outdoor seating: yes Dogs: yes Kid Friendly: yes Vegan options: yes Ambiance: casual Pros: great customer service, delicious coffee Cons: speed of service, long lines, prices
google avatar

Gigi G.

Yelp
Staff was very friendly and the indoor seating is super cozy. I ordered a golden latte and it was made with the prettiest latte art and it was so delicious. Basically no wait time either! I would come again.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little spot we stopped in at to have a coffee before exploring more in the neighborhood. Decent line early afternoon. Lots of rooms with seating inside and out, which was quite full but still some tables open. They had a seasonal menu we ordered from, made decaf and so good!

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
This coffee shop is in beautiful old home w/ an inviting outdoor area. Inside the walls display local artwork, quirky decor, pretty plants and the bouquet of flowers on the mantle added a nice touch. The brewed coffee was excellent, matcha was good, pastries somewhat dry. Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the demeanor of the barista, who seemed personally offended by customers placing orders. Despite requesting my coffee in a mug, he gave it to me in a to go cup. Upon requesting a mug again I received a contemptuous glare. His attitude was unnecessary making it unpleasant to enjoy my time there. After three awkward run-ins with the barista and a bathroom that could use a deep clean, I decided get my caffeine fix across the street. I was looking forward to loving this spot while staying in Fremont, but the coffee and ambiance wasn't worth the poor service and bad vibes.
google avatar

Elise M.

Yelp
I loved the quirky decor and advertisements for local small businesses in here! My chocolate peppermint tea latte was great, good stop for a warm drink on a chilly day!
google avatar

Amber P.

Yelp
Unique coffee syrups - lots of coffee options - homey After some college football at Petoskey's I needed a pick me up to finish the evening. Walked over and got an iced latte with cardamom. Recommend! I was really impressed with all the atypical coffee syrups they had like rose, cupcake, lime, huckleberry, banana, etc. The coffee did seem a little weak as far as caffeine, I'd recommend an extra shot of espresso. Also a very diverse place as far as seating. You can sit inside which has a house like feel or outside on the porch or patio. Good spot to meet up with friends or go on a date. Or if you're visiting Seattle and came to Fremont, grab a coffee to go here and cruise around!

Yelp
Still remembered this coffee hangout from my University of Washington days, when used to live in the area. Cozy local cafe within an old house. Well known for their latte art, if the Baristas have the time, I've seen them create real masterpieces.

Yelp
Obsessed with this cute coffee shop right next to my all-time favourite book store in Seattle. Every time I walk by the line has always been out the door but this Sunday, my sister and I stopped in after the Fremont Solstice Parade and loved how cosy and tucked away it feels. There were only two people working so it did take a little time to get our drinks ordered but they were ready within five minutes. I ordered an iced oat milk mocha and was a little sad that the syrup was all stuck to the bottom instead of mixed into the drink. It made some sips taste really strongly of coffee, and others taste only of chocolate. My sister said her iced vanilla oat milk latte was perfect though, so it might be only a mocha thing. Overall the vibe is totally worth it and the baristas are so kind and friendly I don't even care that the coffee isn't mind-blowing. Will definitely be coming back soon!
google avatar

Tara H.

Yelp
Came here to enjoy some coffee and breakfast on a Sunday. I ordered a regular latte to-go and like how they made a cool foam design. I also got their breakfast burrito and enjoyed this too. I would come back here if I'm in the area.

Michael N.

Yelp
The cortado has been consistently spot on and service is great. Definitely a place to check off the coffee list if you're living in or visiting the Fremont area! Retro/Funky vibe inside and that just enhances the experience
google avatar

Helene B.

Yelp
Staff is welcoming, efficient and warm. I so love the fancy latte art. Fremont Coffee has some of the best coffee in the city. One nit- too cold at times! I wish the heat was on, especially in winter's depth.
google avatar

Diana C.

Yelp
The drinks were very tasty and I loved the cute little sun porch. I sat and drank my latte outside and read and it was a lovely ambiance. The barista was also super friendly and helpful. I definitely plan to come back. Great spot for having a drink and working, reading, or chatting with a friend!
google avatar

Marissa R.

Yelp
Great coffee in a cute and cozy atmosphere. The line was out the door, but it went quickly. Plenty of seating outside for a nice day! They have unique syrups (including cardamom, my favorite!) and friendly baristas. It was about $7 for an oat milk, syrup flavored latte.
google avatar

Chris L.

Yelp
We were in the neighborhood and had a bit of time to kill before our chocolate tasting at Theo, so decided to stop by for a coffee. The ambiance is great - very relaxed and lovely setting in an old house. The baristas were really friendly and our drinks were excellent - they have really tasty coffee. I'd definitely come back here again.
google avatar

Nadia S.

Yelp
The inside of the cafe has chill vibes and the music is uplifting, whereas the outdoor patio has a relaxing atmosphere. 1. Something to consider- the outside is not very well maintained. A bit of cleaning would make the patio more appealing and aesthetic. 2. The service was fast and friendly 3. We ordered: i) Cappuccino: Below Average ; had too much foam/milk ii) Strawberry shortcake Latte: Very summery and delicious; had the right amount of sweetness and acidity
google avatar

Mia Z.

Yelp
One of the best coffee places in town. Such a cute little coffee shop with the most awesome staff. Their coffee menu is good and quality is great. Pasties are average though.
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
This place always has a line out the door so we wanted to check it out and see what the hype was about. The lattes were delicious and the place itself was really cute! We bought coffee beans which honestly were just okay when we brewed at home--I prefer a lighter roast and it was pretty dark. There were no indications on the label for how dark the roast was and the baristas were too busy for us to ask. Overall good experience and I want to go back and try other things on the menu.

Samuel F.

Yelp
It is an alright coffee shop. Ok experience. Probably won't be back. Ok seating options.

Kallie K.

Yelp
Great service and great coffee. Quiet little cafe in the heart of Fremont. Would recommend.
google avatar

Josie B.

Yelp
I had a season drink with my own spin. The coconut cupcake latte with pistachio syrup added. So good! It's in this cute little house and it was cute! The baristas were very through and I really enjoyed the experience.
google avatar

Piko L.

Yelp
The barista is really talented and the foam art made my entire DAY and NIGHT! Ordered the toasted marshmallow mocha and I'm still buzzing with happiness from it! So cozy and lovely inside with lots of space to sit & study! Definitely coming back here to sit and relax while enjoying a cup of coffee with my friends :)
google avatar

Nikita S.

Yelp
Ordered one cappuccino (8 oz) The service was fast however, the beans didn't taste as fresh. The coffee was below average that could be found in any local or machine coffee. I was really looking forward to like this place.
google avatar

Carolina R.

Yelp
One of the best coffee shops in Seattle! I've always passed by when I'm in the Fremont area and there is always a lot of people so I'm glad I finally checked it out before leaving Seattle. I wanted to try one of their fall specials but they were out of it so they made me a maple butter with carmel latte which I loved! I came to get some work done and was able to find a place inside. Overall good service and vibe, would recommend and return when I'm in town.

Morgan P.

Yelp
Perfect cup of coffee and a sweet treat for a rainy morning! Being from Texas, I wanted to try all the local shops and this one is definitely on the top of my list!
google avatar

Ailin J.

Yelp
Hippie chill quaint coffee shop. Came Sunday morning and this place appeared busy and popular. Favorite part is that the baristas made the coffee fast while also adding cute foam designs on the lattes. Definitely very skilled and they seemed happy to be there. Pastries also looked huge and delicious but we didn't try any of them
google avatar

Hannah T.

Yelp
This was such a special gem to find. Not only was the coffee delicious, but the ambiance screamed Seattle, old-school vibes. I love the building and feeling like we are in an old house. To top it off, the baristas were super friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back soon!
google avatar

Domogami L.

Yelp
College study vibes. Coffee is pretty good with beautiful latte art! I got the Mexican mocha and it was surprisingly spicy which I wasn't expecting, I was thinking spicy was more along the lines of cinnamon not peppers. Service was great, very friendly staff
google avatar

Yelp
4.5/5: Iced Vanilla Latte Price: $$ ($5.90) 12 oz Average/higher end price for coffee. Overall the taste was good. The coffee taste wasn't too bitter and there was the perfect amount of vanilla in my latte. Service: (5/5) quick and straightforward. I like how they laid out their coffee shop. Parking: 5/5 pretty easy to find street parking. - Please vote below, comment, and like the photos to give me feedback on my reviews - For more reviews and photos, follow my Instagram: @nvc.eats

Yelp
We rented an Air BNB nearby and found Fremont Coffee Company while looking for a good local coffee shop.Fremont did not disappoint as the building was beautiful, the service was great and the coffee/food was fantastic. We went here two days in a row and it was busy both days - especially the patio. It's obvious that this is where the locals visit, and that's probably the best testimony I can give. I love the old converted building and the location is convenient. I should probably see if they serve lunch as well, but for breakfast it's unbeatable.
google avatar

Declan H.

Yelp
Classic neighborhood spot. Line gets long on the weekend, so be prepared for a little wait. The food is mid, but not really the focus.
google avatar

Christy C.

Yelp
Very friendly service with a great outdoor patio. Their service was a bit slow but it looked like it was just one barista taking and making orders. Their breakfast burrito was surprisingly delicious and the sauce really kept you coming back for more!
google avatar

Diego S.

Yelp
Great coffee and tea, staff was so helpful while they were in a verybusy period of the day
google avatar

Yelp
Out of all the iced lattes I've had in my life I think this place takes the number 1 spot! Came here on a Sunday morning with some friends and I decided to order an iced latte with maple and toasted marshmallow flavoring. Weird combo I know but it was an impulsive decision to mix those flavors and I don't regret it at all! Wasn't too sweet so the coffee flavor really stood out too. Somehow the perfect ratio between all the components in the drink because I wish I got a large once I finished it! The barista who made my drink was also very friendly when taking my order too. I also got the Parmesan bacon biscuit toasted which was also pretty good! Good amount of outdoor seating as well so it's a nice spot to do some work or just enjoy a cup of coffee with some friends.
google avatar

Ella H.

Yelp
Food- I never really ordered food when I went there, but occasionally got the grilled cheese, which was ridiculously good. Service- quite literally couldn't say enough. I love the baristas here. They are so kind, attentive, and hardworking. Environment- the outdoor seating is a 100000/10, especially in the summer. It is so beautiful. The light that comes through the windows all year-round is gorgeous, and it fills up the cafe so nicely. 10000000000/10 would recommend. :)
google avatar

Sydney B.

Yelp
Really interesting layout, it's like an old converted house with different rooms to sit in. Seems like a great place to study/work. Latte was good, not great. Really cool place to check out if you find yourself in Fremont. Service is meh in my experience. Ultimately a fun spot but don't expect the best coffee (imo)
google avatar

Shelley H.

Yelp
My chocolate cake latte was delicious AND a literal work of art; the pesto turkey sandwich hit the spot! We ate on the patio and enjoyed the smell of baking brownies from the Theo Chocolate Factory down the street.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
I went in here and the coffee machine was broken, so they offered me an Americano. I'd rather die than drink an Americano, sorry, so I just bought a pastry while I killed some time before an appointment. The dude was super apologetic and gave me what the coffee maker was putting out, for free, to go with the pastry. Pastry was excellent and so was the remains of the coffee. Vibe in the shop is super laid back and pleasant, and it's a nice place to just hang out. Everyone was cool and welcoming.
google avatar

Yelp
My first visit was an easy 5 stars. Friendly barista made a great latte. Friendly coworker recommended a tasty spinach brioche. It was a cold Seattle weekday morning, and Fremont Coffee offered cozy refuge to numerous neighbors tucked into every corner of this old house-turned-coffee-shop, with one table left seemingly just for me. Good tunes, but not so loud that you couldn't get some work done or concentrate on reading. Second visit was real weird vibes. Baristas were apathetic to say the least. Also, the door opens directly into the line to order, which makes it awkward if there's more than one person waiting. Then you have to cut through the line of people to get back out -- don't spill your beverage in the obstacle course! The doorknob actually came right off in my hand as I was trying to leave, and I had a moment of panic that I would be trapped inside this uncomfortable mood forever. Someone who didn't work there came to my assistance as I stood struggling with my hands full. The coffee was still good so I'm rounding up with my stars. Will come again but not when they're busy. Cafe Ladro is across the street, and they have reasonable flow for longer lines.

Yelp
Great little coffee shop had nice selection of coffees and staff was incredibly nice. Got a caramel latte iced not much caramel flavor but still tasty. Pastry was delicious as well I got their banana bread.
