"Respected, locally focused catering company Herban Feast closed its West Seattle restaurant, Fresh Bistro, last weekend after nine years in the busy Junction neighborhood. Though proprietor BJ Duff confirmed the news with the West Seattle Blog, he did not specifically say why he chose to close, saying that there were multiple reasons. Like Herban Feast, Fresh Bistro focused on local ingredients for its menu of global comfort food. Seasonal items included Goose Point oysters on the half shell, lobster bisque, Carleton Farms pork belly, seared ling cod, and chocolate ganache cake." - Megan Hill

Very friendly staffs and innovative menu. Nice decor and clean restrooms. Unfortunately the green salad was too salty. It's a common problem when making salad using fish sauce or soy sauce as dressing. This is a feedback to chef. Visually the salad looks like a lot of Leaves but it is not a lot in weight. Too much salt kills the dish. Had I known I would ask dressing on the side. Nice green tea.

We'd walked the main street countless times over the last 3 years but never ventured out this way. Let me tell you it's worth it especially if you want some great food with twists and flares that are pleasantly unexpected. The place is inviting and with tasteful decor. We were impressed by thier ambitious menu choices which all sounded gastromonically appetizing. We ordered the mussels, the halibut, the bahn mi to try out. Not one thing negative i can say about these dishes. Seafood were cooked to perfection. Juicy and tender mussels with butter white wine sauce, halibut was flaky and moist. The bahn mi pork belly sliders a mouthful of foodgasm. Will definitely return for more.

Slow service and "innovative dishes" we arrived when they opened at 10am. We placed our order right away. Which did not arrive until 10:44am Corn beef hash and a bahn mi. The corn beef hash was very soupy. Quite gross with a burnt to heck sweet potato biscotti. And the bahn mi had no carrots or pickled veggies on it at all. Also shoe string fries are a big let down. The server was very friendly. And offered to exchange my Arnold Palmer for something more palatable. As it was clearly lemon juice and tea. Not lemonade. All in all I had an awful breakfast and will never be returning.

The patio is open for business! It's nice to sit outside in Seattle and enjoy some nice craft cocktails. Great value on the lunch menu. Lamburger was amazing. __ Update on last review. Visited Fresh Bistro on Friday and met with friends. They already had an order of drinks at the bar. We sat at thr bug large table and no one came to offer us water, ask my friends if they wantrd another round or ask us for a drink order. We there there 75 minutes. No service at all. Never going back.

This is hidden gem in West Seattle (although maybe less so now, due to the major development around it) that always has surprising and seasonal options on the menu. Sometimes they don't quite live up to their promise, but everything I've eaten here has been delicious. Great service and cozy surroundings make this a must visit.

My second visit since they opened. First time, underwhelmed. Today, underwhelmed again with the quiche and salad ($11). I was looking for a light breakfast, but the quiche, though tasty, was the size of an underfilled muffin cup. The salad had julienned carrots that were dry and had the distinct look of coming out of a Safeway salad mix bag. This was a Sunday and I had just purchased a bunch of gorgeous organic carrots around the corner at the West Seattle Farmer's Market for $2.50. I suggest if they are not going to serve fresh food, they should take the word "Fresh" off the name of the restaurant. I pointed out the unfresh carrots to the waitress, she said she would inform the chef but there was no evidence she did this while I was in the restaurant. There was no restitution for my complaint. A refill of my 8 oz cup of good coffee ($3.50) would have been a thoughtful compensation but was not offered.

WOW! This place blew me away. I had the best piece of fish I have ever eaten. Wonderful, friendly service. Nice atmosphere. If I ever visit Seattle again, this is the restaurant that is at the top of my list to go back to.

This is fairly typical American food diner, but they do have great brunch options and portions are very sizable. although located near the main walking street, it is around the corner and tucked away so atmosphere is friendly and relaxed.
