"This West Dade seafood restaurant and market is best known for its fried fish, but the claws shouldn’t be overlooked during stone crab season. This no-frills spot has been a favorite for years and is usually cheaper than its competitors and just as fresh." - Olee Fowler

"This Coral Gables market is lined with various types of seafood lying patiently on beds of ice. They have your typical Florida snapper selection as well as different options like yellowfin tuna loin, branzino, grouper, and more. Point to any of it and they’ll be happy to bag it up for you. But they also have a kitchen and will cook your choice of fish (for $2 a pound) or other seafood (for $4 a pound) to your liking. They have other menu items like lobster croquetas, conch fritters, and a minuta sandwich too." - ryan pfeffer

Google
Great spot to pick up fresh seafood to take home and cook or to have right there. They’ll grill or fry the fish for you. Its not a fancy restaurant but a great place to get fresh seafood. There’s picnic tables outside so you can eat there and some beverages are available also. There’s a wide range of options. I think this is a different flair to traditional fooleries. Anytime I’m in the area I like to stop by. It would be great to have this same place in Fort Lauderdale

Michael Prentice

Google
It's not Peruvian ceviche. It has lime juice and pepper, with chopped onions and bell peppers. It was not spicy. The Smoked Mahi Mahi fish dip was really tasty. The Corvina lunch was well cooked, moist, and tasty. The fish soup was okay.

Jessica del Frade

Google
These is my go-to fish market. Fresh, great service, never smells, always clean and affordable.

Google
An excellent, clean, top tier fish and crab market. Not just a great selection but high quality service. Good to tip the staff.

Morgan Blackwell

Google
The seafood there is amazingly fresh. With outside seating, this place is nice to enjoy a lunch break or just a quick outing. They have the option for your fresh seafood to cook right on location. I particularly prefer mine fried, from fish to seafood. Overall great place to visit

Google
This is a fish market with the option to eat there. They have a mani but you can also buy any fish and they will cook it for you. Plenty of choices with reasonable price. Everything was great even if the lobster was a bit over cooked. The lobster croquettes were amazing! They also have stone crabs of different size. The staff is really friendly and they all tried to help us because it was our first time there. They have a parking lot in front of the restaurant for seven cars so you might need to drive around and wait or look for other options. Absolutely recommended if you live in the area.

Google
A little bit busy on weekends, but nice place. Very helpful staff. If you are hungry try minutas de pescado at the cafeteria, they are super 👌. It comes with tomatoes, onion rings, lettuce and a ton of fries.Made with fresh fish. It's a bit pricey compared to some places on NW but it's always clean and well organized the line.

Google
I purchase fish and lobster here every week. The seafood is always extremely fresh. They even have whole fish selections like grouper, hogfish, flounder and all kinds of snapper that they can sell you whole or you can choose the fish and they will filet it as you please. Really great place, definitely worth visiting… it’s a gem.

Vicky S.

Yelp
Most fresh and delicious fish I've ever had. They fillet it there for you quickly. It's not cheap though since the price is listed before they fillet and remove skin, but they put Publix and even Whole Foods to shame on the quality. I buy yellow tail snapper because it's local and doesn't taste fishy.

Yelp
Stone crab season in Florida is ON!!!!! According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission stone crab season starts on October 15 and ends on May 2 of the following year. Meaning from now on we still have some months to have these sustainable stone crabs from Fresh Florida Fisheries!! Best part to compliment stone crabs, mustard sauce! This place makes a great mustard sauce.... they have the perfect combination of ingredients! Those stone crabs would not be the same without mustard sauce. Congrats to Fresh Florida Fisheries for having fresh stone crabs & great mustard sauce!

Tansy W.

Yelp
TLDR: Skip the sandwiches but get the jumbo stone crab claws! Amazing stone crab claws! Got 4 jumbo and they were the best we have ever had (expensive though - 1.77 lb at $55.99/lb so total $99.10). The $2 mustard sauce is quite good also as other reviewers noted but I preferred the crab plain. My husband liked the fish and chips. I got the croqueta sandwich with lobster which I really didn't like and couldn't eat but didn't matter - the stone crab claws were so good and made up for it all! We came in on a Friday before the holidays (12/29) around 1:30pm and there was plenty of seating for us (only outdoor seating is available but it's covered). Can't wait to return!

Elisa C.

Yelp
As far as fish quality and customer service goes, you will not find a better fish market in town. Florida Fresh Fisheries is the only place we buy our fish!

DR Food A.

Yelp
This please is the way to go for seafood, fresh seafood, service was supper, ambience is good as well.

Xvo C.

Yelp
The seafood were very fresh and the staff very helpful. Had blast there! First timers! Will definitely come back

Nicolle M.

Yelp
Ambiance: Casual Local Fish Market where you can order fresh seafood and enjoy it cooked while you're there. Limited seating available, outdoor only. Service: great local staff I ordered the whole fried snapper with white rice and house salad and a half pound of shrimp steamed and cooked with garlic butter I enjoyed the fish more than the shrimp I would recommend the shrimp blackened instead of garlic butter or maybe a mixture of both. I would definitely recommend this spot.

Steven X.

Yelp
So glad we were in the area and made the decision to stop by. We were craving fried whole fish so decided to see if there were any good spots in the local area. Man are we glad we found this on yelp. Their regular menu is pretty limited but they can basically make a dish out of any of their seafood. And it's not a basic fish fry.... We got fried hog fish that was amazing. Beautifullly fried to perfection. Not too dry and just the right amount of seasoning to not overpower the fish. We also got a blacked yellowtail that was just awesome. Most blackened fish imo is too blackened and ends up drying out the fish and makes it wayyy too salty. But here...it was just lightly blackened. Fish was still so moist and tender. Also got the conch fritters and tostones which were great. Lastly, got some stone crab claws that were insanely sweet and plump. Man I'll miss this place but glad we got to try it. Not cheap by any means but worth.

Jessica G.

Yelp
Finally had a chance to swing by! My friends have been talking about this place for a while, and the snappers looked bigger than any snapper I would ever see in Publix !! They didn't have that many salmon options, but I will definitely come back and try buying a couple pounds of snapper. Let me warn you. The smell is super strong when you walk inside, this place stinks really bad. Honestly, from the smell I was about to turn around, but I decided to look at the fish and most of it looked really fresh. The eyes looked great. I really came in for the mahi fish sandwich. For $21 it was pretty big but a little soggy because they also added Mahi dip to it. The sandwich had quite a few small pieces of mahi not one big fillet. One of the pieces smelled and tasted old. The others tasted fine. I asked for extra aïoli on the side and I'm so glad I did. The fries were tasty, but a little soggy probably from sitting in the container on my quick, drive home. Next time I'll try the breaded mahi for lunch and purchase some fresh snapper for the grill.

lilian s.

Yelp
Stone crabs were fresh sweet and meaty. The mustard sauce was delicious. Everyone left satisfied and happy.

Joe G.

Yelp
Best lobster bisque I've ever had. You can tell it's fresh. I have the mahi tacos every day for lunch and now i can't eat mahi without aioli. These guys do it right - more than just a fish market!

Jonny O.

Yelp
If you want fresh fish look no further, the best Miami has to offer. We had them fry a 5lb hog snapper and ate it there. If you like fresh fried fish this is where it's at!

Dmitri K.

Yelp
The only place I go to get a fresh fish in Miami. Of course you might not get what you want...remember what's in season and of course daily fisherman luck.

Tere R.

Yelp
It's great to have a neighborhood fresh fish store! They are my go to place for fresh fish & seafood. I love the ambiance, simple, no frills just a great selection of cooked to order fresh fish & seafood to take home or eat in. If you're in mood to cook it yourself, you won't find anything fresher than the selection at Fresh Florida Fisheries. Give them a try, eat more fish, you won't be disappointed.

Karina L.

Yelp
Soo happy we discovered this place. The freshest fish available but also the best prepared food too! When doing our regular buy of food for the week, we also ordered the prepared Corvina, lobster croquetas, fish dip, conch fritters and oysters and it was all deliciousu! Also recently bought all the ingredients to make a paella at home. Counting down the days for stone crab season to start to add to our regular order. Highly recommend!

Yelp
We were nearby at another store and decided to stop by for lunch. It's basically a fresh seafood market with a kitchen in the back to prepare your newly purchased seafood. Btw, there's only about 8 parking spaces so some people were paying directly in front while they waited for people to leave their parking spaces. And there's only outside seating as inside is an actual fish market. We ended up getting one pound of medium stone crab for $35, conch fritters, one whole fried branzino, one cup of lobster bisque and French fries for $109. We ordered and got a table to sit with our buzzer in hand and they brought the stone crab out to us. Stone crabs were very fresh. And the mustard sauce was $2 extra and a must. It was my 5 year olds first time trying it and he didn't want to share after he tasted it. The fish was fried t to perfection and served with limes on the side. Even my picky 4 year old liked it. The conch fritters had a decent amount of conch in there and it was tasty. Lobster bisque was the only disappointing thing. There were no lobster that I can see in there. Crab pieces were few and boiled down into the smallest pieces. We came back and tried the fish tacos and the fish was served on a bed of rice on a tortilla. I questioned if the fish was fried in house. The rice was full of flavor and the chipotle sauce was a nice touch.

Roxana N.

Yelp
Fresh fish market where you can walk up and choose the seafood of your liking and have a cooked in a variety of ways including fried, grilled, or in a stew. I was Very satisfied with my fried yellow tail as it was served right out of the fryer and tasted extremely fresh. The Stone crab was also absolutely delicious and served with a mayonnaise mustard dressing on the side. Best of all, prices are affordable. They serve soft beverages but you can bring your own wine or beer to enjoy with your dinner. They have a small selection of sides including rice, black beans, fried plantains, and salad. I believe there is also a small selection of desserts. The stuff is also amazing and welcoming. There Is a small seating area right outside for those who prefer to eat in. Overall I truly enjoyed my me when will be returning for more.

Jenny Z.

Yelp
Fresh Florida Fisheries was so delicious. Their selections were very fresh. I noticed how clean the fish market was and they had some benches outside for outdoor seating. We chose a pound of medium sized stone crab claws that which was about 6 claws. Stone crab meat is a bit more substantial compared to regular crab meat. I really enjoyed it with the mustard/horseradish sauce. I also tried the fried whole yellowtail. It wasn't very fishy, which was good and it wasn't over seasoned. It had a natural protein taste to it. I had a nice lunch experience!

Jemmie W.

Yelp
Incredible selection of seafood for sale that you can buy and take home or they will cook it for you the way you like it and you can eat it there at the picnic tables outside. They not only have fish but have items like stone crab claws, lobster tails, all kinds of shrimp, fish roe, conch, etc.

Jesse L.

Yelp
If fresh fish is your thing...you should drive there. It's our go-to spot for any type of seafood! Prices are good, and service is great.

Ines R.

Yelp
We've been driving by this place for a year and finally stopped. I'm sad we didn't stop sooner. Fresh AF fish you can pi k out yourself. Flashed fried and delightfully light, crispy and juicy.Theyll help you choose. There are several sides that are just as good, vut the whole fried fish is the star.

Kristy P.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Delicious food. Parking can be a bit tricky if it's very busy, but usually decent turnaround time because a lot of to go orders. Highly recommend!

James S.

Yelp
Fresh cannot be expressed enough when it comes to Fresh Florida Fisheries! Superbly clean and stocked with all types of fish/seafood. Take away something to prepare at home, or choose something from their menu items to enjoy as dine in, or carry out

Tanya B.

Yelp
The fish is fresh as you can literally pick it out and they walk it over to the area to cook it. Very basic setup. You walk in, choose your fish (menu is on the barrels in the middle of the store) and walk around the display to pay (let them know how you want your fish seasoned, head in or off, and how you want it cooked). While you are doing that, your fish is traveling to the other side to be cooked. They give you a little number buzzer and you can choose your seat outside. When the buzzer beeps, you pick up your fish. Grab some tops while you're there because you may not be able to finish your meal. The self service stuff are all in reach. The ketchup and cocktail sauce you have to ask for, plastic ware dispenser is right by the pickup area, napkins and hot sauce on the tables. The food comes out on trays to help transport everything. I had the red snapper, fried, and filleted. I split it with my mom and still had to take some home. My daughter had the fish tacos (3) and she brought 1 home. Sauce was nice. Fish was flaky. My nephew had the lobster croqueta sandwich. He said that it was amazing. My brother and his girlfriend had the snapper with the head on. Barely fit on the tray. For appetizers we had conch fritters (soft, full of conch, and quite tasty), tostones (they must have been good because they were gone before I could get one), fries, and black beans and rice. I cannot wait to go back. I will also go by so that I can get fresh fish to take home. The ONLY downside of this place is the parking. The experience is worth the parking headache though.

Ezequiel O.

Yelp
My favorite place to buy chunks of Breaded Mahi-Mahi, they are moist and seasoned just right. I have tried the Mahi fingers but you do loose the rich moist texture since they are skinnier but the kids love them! . The staff is friendly and helpful, there is plenty of fresh fish types to pick from, You pick your filet and can have it cooked grilled, breaded, etc Place is clean and well ventilated where you don't feel like you are in a smelly fish market. Excellent place for takeout. Outdoor seating available.

Juan S.

Yelp
Great location It's an off spin of Casablanca (run by owner's children) Fresh fish and seafood. Good for a quick snack or tasty sandwich A bit overpriced for what you get, but worth the try The fresh fish market is awesome

Michael M.

Yelp
Exactly what was needed !! don't know why i didn't know this place existed prior. The fish dip was delish w the fresh made plantain chips. lobster croquettes were cool. the lobster bisque was tasty. the grouper yellow rice was exceptional! Now the anytime I have a craving for casual but fresh seafood i'll be back. The seafood is hand picked filleted & pan roasted. The Branzino & the fresh cut pan roasted blackened swordfish.. wow!!! sidebar, I don't know why so many places in Miami say grilled when there's no cast iron grill. a griddle and a grill are worlds apart BUT the final product they made was absolutely delish. I will be back for sure!!! can someone help me? is it a cultural thing? why ONLY in Miami will a restaurant say "grilled" but cook on a griddle? grilled means char lines.. not flat cooktop.. do they say grilled pancakes? because they are cooking in the same flat top... when something is grilled you can see grill marks. a grill is not flat. is it a translation thing? can anyone help me w that?

Cassie P.

Yelp
I was jonesin' for a stone crab fix as soon as season hit and remembered reading about Fresh Florida Fisheries on Yelp. It's only a few minutes away from my house and I was ready to finally check it out. After coming, my only regret is not visiting sooner. Walking in, you'll immediately notice how spick and span everything is which is important when it comes to selling fresh fish. Yes, it smells like fish but what can you expect from a seafood market? My eyes were drawn to the stone crabs and they had all the different sizes. They were happy to answer my questions regarding how many came in a pound and I settled on getting a pound of the medium claws. After getting them cracked and adding on some mustard sauce, I also decided to try conch fritters and smoked fish dip from the cooked food menu. I waited for a few minutes while it was prepared and took it all home to be enjoyed, but they do have some outdoor seating near the parking lot. I can't rave enough about everything we tried. The smoked fish dip with fresh plantain chips was the best I've had and the stone crabs rival anything you'll find at Joe's (for a lot less money). I really appreciate the friendly service that makes buying fresh fish a lot less intimidating. I'll definitely come back the next time I need any sort of seafood! They got it all and parking to boot.

Michael P.

Yelp
Wow, just what I was looking for, no pomp, not a tourist trap, just an awesome neighborhood fish market where they will fry up anything in the store for you to eat there. Staff was epic, took time to explain what was good and they were right. Had stone crab claws and their recommended sandwich. Will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Miami!

Cat G.

Yelp
Well, the first thing that Impressed us was that although the kitchen was closed, Eduardo reopened when we told him it was out first time here, now that's service! My boyfriend had some dental work done so he was confined to soup, so we were looking for something tasty, cream of something so I yelped lobster bisque and found this place. Love that you could pick your own fish, lobster, shrimp, stone crab, etc. and have it prepared anyway you want. I decided to go with a yellow fish snapper and a side salad. I squeezed lots and lots of lime on it and WOW! Talk about fresh! You could eat outside on some benches or take to go. Not fancy but super fresh and delicious! Can't wait to come back and trY the ceviche!

Casey L.

Yelp
Our neighborhood fish spot, so lucky! Great selection of fish and amazing stone crabs when in season. The food is excellent, the minuta sandwich is a favorite. This place can be packed and limited for parking, but it's worth the wait.

Sam B.

Yelp
We found this on Yelp and it was exactly as hoped for-stone crabs by the 100, fish and shrimp tacos, black bean soup, mahi tuna salad, and it was delicious! Outdoor tables, food came out quickly, and very friendly service. It would be 5 stars but a limited menu. But nothing lacking here and my party loved it!

Ada O.

Yelp
Excellent food! Love the stone crabs with mustard sauce & fried whole fish...always fresh!

Carolyn L.

Yelp
YUM! Fresh fish on ice sliced as ordered. Went in for lunch, only downside is there is limited outdoor seating only, but the quality & flavors blew it out of the water! You can substitute their menu items with whatever fish you want. Our complete order: lobster AND crab bisque (lighter in color & oh so creamy!), lobster croquettes (comes with 4), seared tuna tacos, and grilled snapper sandwich. We will be back next time we're in south Florida!

Luz H.

Yelp
Nice experience for a laid back fish fry kind of day. I have been here a couple times and just went again recently. Its not a large location and parking can be an issue but worth going. This is a fish and seafood market so everything is fresh so you can either have them cook to your preference for example fried, blacked, etc. or take home and cook for yourself. Both great options. There is outdoor seating or you can pick up to go. This time I got the : Hog Fish whole and fried: Yummmm but took a bit for them to fry so don't order if you're in a hurry Yellow rice: pretty delicious Tostones: soooo good Lobster croquetas: ok but not my favorite Overall, I recommend this place to anyone especially if you live in the area you should check it out.

Sara O.

Yelp
Been coming here to get sushi grade tuna and fish dip for some time. It's a great neighborhood fishery with very affordable prices on all kinds of fresh fish. From whole fishes to fillets to seafood to EVEN freshly made dip, sandwiches and more! They will clean and prepare the fish for you if you prefer it than doing it yourself. The sandwiches they make in house are simple yet fresh and packed with flavor. Perfect if you enjoy eating fish simply grilled/blackened. If you're looking for a fresh fish/seafood spot with plenty of fresh options to choose from, definitely pay this place a visit! I definitely won't be buying fish from the grocery store anymore!

E N.

Yelp
Cleanest smelling fish market I've ever visited. Very reasonable prices. Best of all, THE STAFF!! Even if you don't plan to buy, just go look!! The staff is wonderful, the cleanliness is beyond impeccable!

Steve M.

Yelp
This place really has Impeccable quality, incredibly fresh fish. Everything I've got there... from the fresh snapper to sushi grade tuna to the stone crabs which are so fresh so Delicious and a lot cheaper than everywhere else. This place gets my business for all my fish.

Quoc N.

Yelp
Wow!!! This was our favorite restaurant while we were in Miami. Definitely a hidden Jem that only local know about. Fresh delicious seafood at an affordable price, the perfect combination!

Ed W.

Yelp
Very nice fish market. I came here yesterday for the first time and service was really good. As soon as I walked in they greeted me as I was browsing for dinner options. They had a really good selection of Grouper, snappers and even branzino. Really good size octopus and shrimp. I ended up getting some Salmon steaks that look super fresh, cut right there upon request to the thickness of your liking. I will definitely recommend this place and hopefully I will come back soon.

Cole K.

Yelp
These guys are great. Good selection of seafood and very good customer service! It is worth the drive if you don't like close.

Ileana B.

Yelp
Great quality seafood! The food they make there is excellent! Friendly employee. Great place to go and relax and eat there

Olivia S.

Yelp
My husband and I have spent hundreds if not thousands of dollars at this place over the years. From time to time we literally buy cooked and fresh seafood at this place weekly. We went by today about 9:40 and the door is open and there are 2 people being served. It is not the first time they have done that because if they are ready a few minutes early they sometimes open a little earlier. When I walk in one of the guys which I don't know tells me in Spanish and then in English that they are closed. I tell him I speak both and perfectly understand. One of the guys tells another in Spanish to lock the door. Then I ask why there are other people being served. He says they are family friends and I should come back at 10:00! The amazing thing is that all this rolled of their tongue like nothing. There was no sense of sorry about that, or a sense of proper customer service. I'm not sure why they thought this was okay. But good luck with that attitude!

Raul M.

Yelp
Fresh Pescado Frito in West Miami!!! Fresh fried fish is one of the simplest things you can get on a menu here in South Florida. The simpler the process and presentation, the better it is. What could be more uncomplicated than going to a fish market, picking your fish, and having it fried on site for you to enjoy right away? Fresh Florida Fisheries has been serving this easy fare from a laid-back location near 57th Avenue and Coral Way for a few years now. This combination fish market and eatery harkens back to the days when fishermen would sell their catch at what is now Bayside Marketplace with rows of fresh fish all lined up and covered in ice waiting for that lucky customer. The selection is mostly local fresh caught with a smattering of some regional and west coast (both California and Florida) seasonal catches flown in. The fishmongers will help you select the fish, clean it, and even filet it for you. If you're not sure of any item, they will assist you in making the freshest selection of any type of fish available. The menu offers some simple sides, drinks, beer specials, and some homemade specialties like lobster and fish croquetas. There are some desserts available including their key lime pie. If you're hungry and can't wait to get home, an on-site kitchen will fry up your selection to enjoy on site at one of the picnic tables set up outside under an awning. Large fans stimulate soft tropical breezes blowing in from offshore while you enjoy your catch... SYOY!!! **A little advice: Parking is an issue, especially on their busiest days. I suggest you ride-share for a stress free experience.

Omar W.

Yelp
Food was good. Stone crab was delicious and juicy. Would highly recommend. The seafood is so fresh it looks like it was swimming in the ocean not too long ago

Zulema S.

Yelp
Hands down the best seafood market I have ever been to. This place is amazing. The top place in the area for really fresh seafood. The staff is super friendly, accommodating, patient and knowledgeable. So helpful with the selection process - I can't say enough good things about them. My only regret is not visiting them sooner. The Fresh fish counter selection is wonderful. They offer so many options/ways to cook your seafood if you don't want to do it at home yourself and the also have a wonderful variety of delicious side dishes. Add easy, convenient parking and a great central location and it's the perfect recipe for a quality meal and experience.

jesse c.

Yelp
Amazing for fresh snapper you must get here early for the best selection and stay for a fresh lunch eaten on picnic bench outside.

Leo N.

Yelp
More like 3.5 stars. Saw this on Davidsbeenhere and wanted to try out for ourselves. Unfortunately the stone crab season was not open when we visited, so we had to settle for other food. The person taking the order was friendly and helpful. The person we picked up the order from was not quite so. He didn't speak a lick of English and was a bit gruff. The fish is very fresh and they had a lot of varieties for sale. The conch fritters were not bad. The shrimp tacos were a bit dry. The minuta sandwich was great but needed a bit more of sauce. The fish and chips were good. But the star of the show for me was the smoked cod dip. We ordered some tostones (dip comes with tortilla chips) on the side and it was awesome. Hope to come during stone crab season the next time.

Tam S.

Yelp
Fresh fish! Great customer service! We only come here to get out fish, never disappointed. You can also have them cook your fish for a small fee and it's delicious, Highly recommend this place.
