FRESH. Local Ice Cream really lives up to its name! I tried the Cookies & Cream non-dairy shake, and it was surprisingly rich and creamy—you’d never guess it was dairy-free. The flavor was spot on, with just the right amount of cookie chunks and sweetness. They have a great variety of flavors (including non-dairy options), and the staff is super friendly and helpful if you’re not sure what to get. You can tell they really care about quality and making everything from scratch. It’s a fun local spot with generous portions and a welcoming vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for a treat

Delicious! The service was quick and they let you taste test a few flavors. Lots of outdoor seating under a shade canopy which was very nice. Plus added bonus of an air conditioned bathroom to use! We got the lemon blueberry sorbet which was incredible. The waffle cone was a little stale, that’s my only complaint.

The staff was extremely great, the assortment of flavors was top notch and the amount of seating in accordance with the hot sun makes this one of the best ice cream experiences I've had in North Carolina or everywhere. Will be coming back! Their birth cake cake and butter pecan are great. One scoop is already good but be prepared if you ask for 2 scoops!

I must share this experience because I was totally disgusted. The two ladies that got their cones right before me had a mix up. They received coffee in both cup and cone instead of coffee and chocolate. I was right next to them at the pick up window when they looked at their ice cream and the younger one said “ no, this is definitely coffee”. The woman got the servers attention who had gone back to making the next order. Her came to the window and the woman explained that this was coffee and not chocolate. She handed him the cone, he took it and dumped the ice cream back into the bucket and proceeded to but the chocolate in the same cone. When they left, I told the guy that what he did was very unsanitary. That he should have thrown the entire cone away because he should not accept anything back from a customer. He said “she didn’t touch it”. I told him he didn’t know that to be true because he wasn’t watching her once he gave her the order. He just looked at me and didn’t say anything. I’m glad that you can see them fix your order but I’ll never go there again. They need more training. I know that probably happens more than we know but to see it hits differently. I eat out VERY rarely for this reason. I know this is a small business and I hope the owners read this and do more training.

Best truly homemade "Fresh" ice cream! No fake ingredients. Best in Raleigh area. A cone is around $7 but I'm telling you, it's worth it. Great selection and lots of tables to sit outside. We frequent Fresh every week!

As a mom of two, I’m always looking for a place that’s both kid-friendly and high-quality and this is becoming our go-to. The staff was incredibly patient and kind, helping my indecisive little ones pick their flavors. The ice cream itself was so fresh and creamy. I appreciated the clean space, the variety of flavors (even a few dairy-free options!), and the thoughtful touches like kid-sized cones and plenty of outdoor seating. It’s become our new favorite treat stop. Highly recommend for families!

You can taste the difference between Fresh and other ice cream shops. It’s creamier and you can taste each flavor. My wife likes to combine two different flavors. My favorite is the blueberry and she likes butter pecan and whatever else tickles her fancy at the time. I’m not a butter pecan fan but I must say theirs makes me a believer.

I had to edit my review to say I recently got their B-day cake flavor and its incredible! not artificial at all and has chocolately cake pieces in it along with sprinkles for a nice crunchy texture. I usually dont like bday cake flavored stuff but this flavor was done so well it really surprised me! You can tell the ice cream is really good quality super creamy and thick with a wide range of flavors. They have Sundaes as well as milkshakes. I got oatmeal cream pie and blueberry so it was like blueberry cobbler.

This has been a favorite for years. Absolutely the best ice cream hands down. I've been on a weight loss journey for the past few years so coming here is a rare and special treat.

While visiting in town, I came across this ice cream shop! Not only is it super charming, but the staff that helped us was phenomenal. We were able to try a few flavors before settling on one (or two;). The ice cream was delish! I got a cookie dough and also a scoop of Reindeer Tracks (we were there during the holidays). It was $22 for two cups and one cone but knowing I'm supporting a small business and keeping money local makes the higher price worth it! Would definitely return and recommend to friends!

Chocolate chip cookie dough - my fav & New York Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream . Every time we come to this spot the line is bananas but they're quick! Ice cream and milkshakes are so bomb & they're open late. They let you sample a flavor if you ask and they have lots of variations of their ice cream. Staff are always so nice & kind! Outside seating or you can park and eat in your car, but this is not an indoor spot just FYI!

Great ice cream! We really enjoyed the flavors we got. The picture is a size small but they really pack it in there! The blue birthday cake has Oreo instead of what you would normally think of as cake batter but still very good

Fresh Local Ice Cream serves arguably the best ice cream in the Triangle. The base ice cream itself possesses an unparalleled, creamy texture. The flavor of the ice cream tastes buttery and has a touch of malt which adds a subtle, slightly savory note to each bite. My wife, brother in law, and I tried the monthly special flavors of blueberry pancake and salted caramel oreo. The ice cream makers here do not skimp on the mix ins, and each variety was chock full of pieces (pancake batter and Oreos, respectively). As the name implies, the freshness of the ice cream was evident in both taste and texture. While both flavors were fantastic, the unique blueberry pancake won us over the most with plenty of fresh blueberry puree, a buttery base ice cream taste, and addictive pancake pieces in the ice cream. The salted caramel Oreo held its own with a subtle caramel backbone that complimented the chocolatey Oreos quite well. A waffle cone with two large scoops, while a little steep at about $7, was big enough for three of us to share. Plenty of outdoor tables are available for seating. I admittedly don't even like ice cream too much and adored the scoops here. As such, Fresh Local Ice Cream should be the first and last stop for any frozen treat fan in the area.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon - not packed but people were gradually flowing in. I ordered a single scoop of coffee flavored ice-cream on a waffle cone. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Outside seating was available, so this was a perfect time to sit and enjoy. Gluten free and non-dairy options are available.

Fresh is one of my favorite ice cream shops in Raleigh. The ice cream is so flavorful and the menu is pretty expansive with something to suit everyone's taste buds. I love that they have featured monthly flavors which are seasonal as well. Summer months can be pretty busy but the wait is never really long. There is very limited seating so I always end up eating my ice cream in my car but...I have no issue with that because it's so good.

One of the few places that my physically disabled, elderly mother likes to visit is this place. I ask for two scoops of ice cream in a cup with a lid. This is the 3rd time I have been told point blank "Management won't let us do that." I offer to pay extra $$$$ just for the ice cream to please be placed in a cup with a lid (see photo). I was told again tonight "I can't do that. Management says we can't do that". This is after I explain I am simply asking for this basic acommodation because it's easier for my mom to hold the cup while eating the ice cream. Ya'll truly do have major customer service flaws and total disregard for your physically disabled customers when you refuse to simply put the ice cream in a cup with a lid. Simply amazing and truly pathetic!!

I've been back and they continue to be one of my favorite ice cream shops. With that said, there are some flavors that need improvement. Their vanilla is lacking. If you're a vanilla ice cream connoisseur, you'll be highly disappointed. However, if you like fun new flavors, this is the place!! I've tried their cookies and crème and their Carolina Crunch and both were amazing!! I can't wait to keep discovering flavors via their monthly selection.

LOVE THIS ICE CREAM! Best ever. Seriously, ever. I'm a huge fan or any ice cream combination of peanut butter + chocolate. This place takes what is a pretty straightforward pairing and brings it to the stratosphere with creamy ice cream that isn't burdened by heaviness that can give you a belly ache, just "wow" ice cream that has an amazing pairing of complex flavors and textures that are refreshing (even in cold weather) and delicious, not fussy or self-important. They know what they've got. They are humbly sure footed, no need to be esoteric with weird flavor combinations. *Always go for a chocolate & peanut butter ice cream combination!

I absolutely loved my visit here with my sister, daughter and her two friends. We stopped here after spending a nice afternoon at a park. What better way to end a day, than with ice cream. Location is off a busy road but not hard to find. Menu was simple and had a lot of variety and the ice team loved up to "fresh." Everyone was happy with their selection. It's priced on the higher side but a great treat none the less.

First of all Fresh, your ice cream is exceptional. A literal treat. Love supporting a good local place. HOWEVER, people are everything to a business and let me tell you, ya got a real 'gem' here . I brought my 87 year old mom with me to your Greenwood location to get her out of the house and introduce her to an experience, and experience she got. She asked for a cone with vanilla ice cream and chocolate chips from the cashier. She was told there was no such thing but if she wanted, she could have vanilla with a little chocolate sauce. She decided on that. At the next window she was presented with a ball of chocolate on a cone. I said it wasn't what she ordered, and your guy here went into full teenage, hormonal chest puffing, and muttering under his breath. It was as if I said I didn't like his haircut and shorts ‍. I watched him as he duly 'impressed' his young female colleagues (they nervously giggled and looked over at us) by pouring chocolate syrup in the bottom of a plastic cup, throwing a ball of vanilla into it followed by a cone shoved on top with a napkin. He brought it over with MUCH bravado, plunking it on the counter followed by "That's the best I can do." I'm not kidding. Mom was confused and it soured our evening for a few minutes. She got over it. I didn't. Mamas, if this is your son, FIX it. You will be 87 one day.

I love the different ice cream options for this place. I know that the ice cream is like $5-$6 per ice cream which I understand. I love all the flavors, and their milkshakes. I love the root beer floats, and I wished they had like Dr. Pepper floats, Coca Cola, etc. Overall good ice cream, and I'm excited to go back there again.

We stopped by here on a beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon in October and they were packed. There was no one in line to order when we arrived but the line quickly grew to 15 people long. This was our first time at Fresh. I generally prefer soft serve to scoop ice cream but this ice cream was perfect! I ordered strawberry. It was delicious, so soft and creamy. I also like that they label on their menu which flavors are gluten free. Now I'm hooked. Can't wait to return and try another flavor.

This is my 2nd time trying Fresh. While on a date this evening we both visited this location in hopes of trying a new thing. I have had Fresh once while attending an event and did not enjoy the mint chip or fudge flavors. The flavors were very artificial with weird after tastes. Curious to discover why the line is always long here, I gave it another shot. I decided on the non-dairy sorbet and my date had the brownie flavor. He enjoyed his and I did not enjoy the sorbet. Too overly sweet and again, an artificial taste. The service is fast, the staff are great. There is ample parking and plenty of seating available outside. There are cute games like jumbo checkers etc. Cute for a simple, local date night. Best of all, they're open late.

Between me and my fiancé we've tried about 6 ice creams and have been extremely pleased. Fresh milk, not overly sugary, no weird after taste from artificial flavors. My favorites are Banana Puddling and the NY Cheesecake.

I mean -- it's in the name right? Fresh. Fresh AND local. And the best part? It's delicious! At least the peach one is and it's my go-to. Get some ice cream and go have a sit outside in a hot summer evening.

As always, I enjoyed the pineapple sorbet today. This is my favorite location. I always refer customers to this business and location, regardless of the season.

Cookies n Cream has always been my favorite but today it was different. It does not taste the same at all & the cookies are a cheaper cookie. I asked the employee if it was a different ice cream and he said "not necessarily". Not sure what that even means but he didn't say no. Very disappointing. It used to be the best flavor!

I am AN ABSOLUTE FAN of icecream. However, I will admit i was underwhelmed with my experience at Fresh. I love Strawberry, it is a flavor I feel you can never go wrong with, however I feel I may have went wrong. The strawberry here tasted more "artificial" than compared to the ice cream I have previously tried. Idk if it could've been mixed with the flavors of the spoon used because I had a pecan inside of my ice cream. They were out of the strawberry cheesecake so I will come back once more to try it ! The waffle cone was fresh ! We sat outside and they gave great music choice ! It is a great place to go for family time.

This is ice cream heaven as I was calling on the Lord while eating it. Of course there is a line outside but it moves fast and there is a reason why! The team is pleasant and moves fast. With so many options what do you do? First go to their site to read the flavors and the contents. This will help you make a wise decision and save time. The two smallest cup are more than enough you can get three flavors, more than enough. On a waffle cone you can only choose 2 flavors but the scoops are HUGE! My choices Coconut Almond Crunch - Hawaiian Coconut Ice Cream, Almonds& Chocolate Crunch very very good, Kona Coffee - Caffeinated Coffee Ice Cream Yummy, Banana Pudding - Banana Ice Cream, Fresh Pureed Bananas With Vanilla Wafers ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!

This local ice cream shop has a great selection. It has a nice area to sit outside with a few games.

Dreaming about my next waffle cone! I don't normally go out for ice cream but this place is 110% worth it. What we ordered: NY strawberry cheesecake Carolina crunch - addicting! Puppy sundae - our dogs loved it Ethan, the person working at the register, was super patient and friendly. I asked for one scoop because I'm watching what I eat, but I will definitely be back to get (at least) two scoops, of the Carolina crunch and to try other flavors. They are dog friendly and also do events! Would be a hit at kids' birthdays as well as adults.

Yum! Great flavors including the coconut almond crunch, pumpkin, and autumn spice! Lots of outdoor seating.

Great local ice cream place! Get ready to stand in line especially on a nice day, it's that good! No inside seating, plenty outside seating with limited shade (just the umbrellas) and some music playing. Ice cream is locally made in small batches and what I love the most is they have flavors of the month, so there's always something new to try. I just tried this month's chai tea latte and I'm OBSESSED. It's sooo good!!! If you crave for extra sweetness consider getting a sundae -- it's just 40 cents more compared to two-scoop cup, but you get a hot fudge or caramel on top of your scoops plus whipped cream and a cherry.

We are standing in line to order before 10pm and this "young man" is sitting there cleaning his phone as we wait, there was four of us. At 10pm he turns to unplug the open sign, turns and walks away from the window. No sorry we're closed, no nothing. Is this how you do business?

We love this place! When in town visiting family we make it a point to visit this wonderful ice cream shop. There are so many great options here but what makes this place extra special is the fact that they offer dairy free options. Out daughter has a dairy allergy so having a shop with a section of the menu with options for her to choose from really makes a difference for us. Plus, the dairy free options are pretty amazing! She has tried the lemon and the chocolate and both were delicious. I chose White mint chip which was also pretty. Great. We love the outdoor seating which transitioned well during Covid. We will be back next time we are in town!

I recently ordered some of their chocolate Ice Cream for my son because he got straight A's in school. The Ice Cream was delicious and my son absolutely loved it!

It was not our favorite. 2 out of 4 got cookies and cream and the taste was not good. The Sweet Honey and Sea Salt was okay but left a weird after taste. The only thing that tasted good was the waffle cone. Sorry, Fresh, it just wasn't for us. Very popular place, so it's worth a try if you're in the neighborhood.

This is a great place for some delicious, fresh and flavorful ice cream! Don't forget to ask for samples, I'm so glad I did. The key lime was so good and full of graham cracker. The banana pudding was really great. The Georgia peach was so good! Perfectly peachy no artificial flavoring My husbands Oreo shake was amazing too. The customer service was great and their pricing is reasonable.

Ice cream is great. However, be prepared for a long wait, over 25 minutes in our case, after you order, particularly on a Sat afternoon. Only one person taking orders, only 2 people scooping.

Definitely will be coming back here! I think they accidentally gave my husband the midnight brownie scoop I requested...but their ice cream is amazing and you really can't go wrong with anything you order. I think the line to order itself tells you it's a great local ice cream shop! They have so many flavors I had a tough time choosing. They had a lot of gluten free options as well. Can't wait to come back and try some more flavors! I ended up ordering the sea salt caramel the peanut butter cup and I think instead of the midnight brownie they gave me peanut butter Oreo which was still amazing. Husband got the Carolina crunch and I think my midnight one but he liked it. Friend got the peach and I tried that also and it was good!

Always a fun spot for our family!!! The ice cream is awesome and we have so many fun memories eating at the outside tables playing the jumbo connect four!

So many flavors to choose from! I brought my sister and her boyfriend here. We got birthday cake, blueberry and coffee flavored ice creams. The workers are all very friendly as well. Big plus is that it is dog friendly and even sells adorable puppy sundaes! The price is a little pricey for just ice cream but it is locally made and the serving sizes are great. A size small equals to about 2 scoops. Will most definitely be stopping by on my next trip to Raleigh.

Tl;dr: Great ice cream, great team, sunny outdoor seating Came here after a hot afternoon and was surprised that there was not a long line -- and then we remembered it was midday on a work day. We didn't feel rushed and the server at the window encouraged us to try different flavors so we did! We decided on banana pudding and coffee. The banana pudding was amazing, perfect chunks of banana and nilla wafers. The coffee ice cream was the most well-rounded coffee ice cream that I've EVER had. Give it a try!!!

I actually love this place, but some of the younger kids that work here are rude. I stopped by today and ordered 2 scoops with a waffle cone, and a small cup with hot fudge on the side. Because I was taking it home I asked that the cone be on the side, and when the young girl brought my order to the window, I simply said "I'm so sorry but the cups should all have lids and the cone was supposed to be on the side." The girl literally laughed in my face, and walked away. She came back a few minutes later and had packaged up my order the way I asked, and she just slid the bag across the counter and said "here." And again walked away. I mean the least she could have done was apologized and politely hand me my bag. Today was just a sour experience. When you spend $14 on ice cream the least your employees can do is be friendly.

I would like to know why oh why ice cream can't be dietetic. Why does this have to be a 'cheat'?? Why should I be wracked with guilt after standing in line for 20 min to get some Carolina Crunch? Seriously! So unfair!! Ok...rant done. I will tell you, in every state I move to, one of the first things I hunt down is a good place to get homemade hand dipped ice cream. I come from an area in PA where there is AMAZING hand dipped so I am a bit of a snob When I first moved to NC I lived in Raleigh and very close to Fresh. This was catastrophic for my waist line. It was a good thing I moved to Burlington. This is now a treat only to be had on special occasions. Ok. It is really good ice cream ...like REALLY good. It's a little pricey but hey, organic hand dipped ice cream here. You get what you pay for right? Well...this is DEFINITELY one of those things. The small cup is perfect for satisfying that ice cream urge for sure. Pick a flavor...pick two! You will not regret it...at the time. Let your diet go for a day!

This icecream spot is so good! I've been here a couple of times and it never disappoints. The only thing I would say is it gets overly crowded and the lines get rly long. There have been two or three times where I've just driven by because of how packed it is. Maybe try going on some off hours ! Would recommend though, not their fault that they are popular !

It's an all-outdoor ice cream shop. I thought upon seeing an ATM next to it in the parking lot that it might be cash only, but they accepted cards. Their flavors included some standard, some intriguing, and some in a line of dairy-free flavors (also marked for gluten-free concerns as appropriate). I was told I could get up to two flavors in mine, and compared a dairy-based white mint chip to a non-dairy banana split. Neither of them really nailed it for me. The banana flavor was actually the better of the two, but neither was strong enough for my liking. The bread-y cone pieces added a lot to my banana split, but the chocolate chips were a bit dry and unexciting in my mint. I was still happy to consume it all, and the macro-level way the business is run looked good, but I'd have to try some different flavors to be really impressed.

Pleasantly surprised to find this jewel. The person that took our order was exceptional. He is exactly who you would want. He greeted us, asked about our day, and made eye contact. He loves his job. He took our order and repeated it for accuracy. Our order was ready within a few minutes. It was the best hot fudge sundae I've had in a while. My wife had a cone and loved hers as well. Plenty of parking available.

I'm a vegan and their vanilla ice cream is so good. I live 30 minutes away so I can't go to this place often, but whenever I have to go to Raleigh, I will stop here. Other places don't serve vanilla vegan ice cream. Thank you, please never take it off the menu. It's way too good!

Even with snow on the ground we were craving FRESH's rich, smooth ice cream. We chose coconut almond crunch (my favorite), strawberry, and of course a dog sundae. Our dogs love the dog sundaes and we enjoyed our ice cream. Many places skimp on sprinkles, but not here, if you request sprinkles they make sure your scoop is covered with sprinkles. After getting through all the amazing sprinkles, I realized that the add-ins for the coconut almond crunch ice cream are sparse. The ice cream had a delicious coconut flavor, but I would have preferred more chunks of almonds and coconut. This location is outdoors. You order and pay on one side and walk around to the next side to pick up you order. It was somewhat busy, but our orders were completed quickly and accurately. They have seating outdoors in several areas. All of the employees we interacted with were enthusiastic and friendly. Overall, we had a good experience at this location and would return here again!

The open sign was still on and I had a hankering to get creamy. They were serving out cones from the pick up window when I parked. I walked up to the window and some youngster yelled "were closed" and slammed it on me. I said turn off the sign then. He didn't Looks like I've never get to try this place. Or the three other people who I watched go up to the window and get ignored as I wrote this. Stay open later. Nice day. Spring. Just a thought.

Look I can't eat dairy that much it causes bad allergies, so when my wife said hey let's give this place a try they have dairy-free I was super skeptical. Most of the spots we have tried that offer dairy-free anything completely miss the mark with me, but this place was phenomenal!!! We ordered one Bourbon Vanilla shake, I took one sip and immediately went back to the counter to order my own shake! That's how amazing this thing was it's made with almond milk and taste just like a shake you would get from your favorite milkshake spot. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you are like me and miss drinking those sweet milky goodness called milkshakes.

I needed a pick me up one afternoon after a terrible day and the ice cream at FRESH. really filled the whole in my heart. When we got there the line was long. Maybe a dozen people. We were up to the window within 5-7 minutes. And it was worth it. The ice cream was fresh. There's no losing with the flavors. If you need a little boost in your day, try FRESH. If you pass by and see the line is too long, take the time to wait in line and practice mindful breathing, and trust the young adults there are working their butt off. They're so polite and will get you your ice cream ASAP.

Wowza this was a great ice cream opportunity. There are marked off spaces to wait in line and order, everyone had masks on, hand sanitizer at each countertop, and reasonable prices. I ordered the regular in a cup which is two scoops. You can order different flavors for each scoop. There is space to sit outside if you choose. The ice cream is delicious, I can't wait to go back and try more flavors!

Good ice cream, but nothing to write home about. There's some other places in town that are a slight step above, but fresh is still worth going to if you're by it!

So delicious! I've been here a few times and always enjoyed it. I visited on a Saturday evening around 8 and it's like rush hour here. It's very family friendly with some outdoor games and picnic tables. I ordered the kid's size Birthday Cake which comes with free sprinkles. It seems a little steep to pay almost $4 for a kid's size ice cream, but that's about normal for going out for ice cream. I always love locally-owned places and they advertise antibiotic free and grass-fed cows. The ice cream was so rich and creamy. The Birthday cake had swirls of fudge also. Fresh is a wonderful little treat on a hot summer evening!

Truly fresh and local ice cream! Wife had the strawberry, I had the butter pecan brownie sundae (huge!), and our boys had the lemon sorbet. All of it was fantastic!
