So I ordered from these guys and they missed their promised delivery window by two hours and then (wish I was exaggerating here) half the order was missing. Then I called customer service and someone located abroad tells me sorry they can get me SOME of my missing items to me express and that will be there four hours later (makes you wonder how they define the word "express"). Plot twist: that express, emergency order arrives three hours late as well! You can not make up this level of incompetence. Go ahead and search for reviews online. This is common with Fresh Direct. There is an entire subreddit dedicated to the chaos they cause in people's lives. The staff that work their call center must get paid handsomely because that level of curtness and blithe disinterest in your problems cannot come cheap. And when the second half of my original order finally arrived? All the eggs were broken so I had to spend more time washing egg yolk off my vegetables and then calling customer service (again!) to beg to have the eggs refunded. Never ordering from these guys again.

Fresh Direct Manhattan Epic fail. I have been buying from FreshDirect for years without very many poor incidences. However, this is the first time I have ordered in many months, and what a huge disappointment! I took pictures of the produce and bread last week when I received it to complain about the quality however, this week, I am adding to it due to the spoilage rate as well. I was shocked by how filthy the celery and cilantro was and there was so much sand in the cilantro and so much dirt in the celery that it was clear the produce hadn’t even been given a perfunctory washdown. The bagels and the sourdough bread were stale when I received them, so I ordered another loaf uncut the next day. However, those two bread products have since gone completely bad and moldy, see pictures attached. This tells me the product is either not being stored correctly or is being bought very late in the game and is already on the verge of spoilage by the time it’s delivered. That’s my personal take. Of course I will go back to FreshDirect because i find them terribly convenient and overall this is my first terrible experience. but another experience like this would drive me away permanently. Also, worth noting since they changed the bag styles to no longer have a cover flap and we were experiencing heavy rain, there was about a half an inch to an inch of water in the bottom of each bag. Not nice.

It is affordable prices, and I love the discounts they send to their loyal clients. Half off of hundred dollar order is great value and price, I order $100 worth of stuff for only $50. They are thoughtful to put liquid items and yogurts in bags so spills don’t occur. I chose them over Amazon 👍

I want to file a complaint about a reckless driver who nearly hit me and another vehicle twice. The driver was completely irresponsible, speeding and weaving between lanes without any regard for our safety. After the near-collisions, he started shouting a bunch of obscenities and acted in the most disgusting way possible. His behavior behind the wheel was not only dangerous but also incredibly disrespectful. This kind of attitude has no place on the road, and I hope something is done to prevent future incidents.

This pallet got rejected because it was leaning. Broccoli iced down all around never touched the floor. I str8 n it back up and still was not willing to accept it. $1400.00 claim. Took it back to Glen Burnie Md and gave evety box away to family friends and associates.

I can't speak on anyone else's negative experiences. All I know is that whenever something is not to our satisfaction, Fresh Direct always always makes it right. The customer service is unparalleled. Do you know how difficult it is to have to go back to a store and try to get a refund on something that has spoiled or expired? It's like torture, but not so with Fresh Direct. All you have to do is go to the help section of their app, and put in for a credit and voilà, in less than 24 hours your credit appears for the next order. Thankfully having to do this is very rare but it's nice to know that it's there. I'd say about 98% of their food items are of very high-quality. For example, their house made lobster salad is phenomenal. I just made myself a lobster roll sandwich using Martin's long buns that I bought from Fresh Direct and it was the same or better than if I would've bought it outside and for a fraction of the cost. The delivery guys are always very polite and accommodating. They work extremely hard, so I always tip them well. We've been using Fresh Direct for about five years now, and I can say with absolute certainty that we will never go back. Very highly recommend.

I have used FD since 2012. It has gone steadily downhill since the original owner sold the business. Ahold Delhaize (parent company of Peapod) and Centerbridge Partners bought the FD in 2021. There was a noticeable decline in product quality, availability, and pricing immediately. The company was sold again in 2023 to Getir, a Turkish company which specializes in rapid delivery of groceries and restaurant items. These deliveries are made primarily on scooters. From the start Getir seemed unfamiliar in dealing with delivery trucks, union drivers, and full grocery orders. Since the company, in their home country, is known for RAPID delivery, I would have expected to see more timeslots, but instead there are fewer. The slots that are available fill up fast and customers often have to wait for a delivery two days down the road. I am consistently receiving items that are obviously damaged while being packed. Bread is consistently placed on the bottom of the bag and watermelons, cans, and anything else heavy thrown on top of the bread. Eggs are left to roll about in the bag in transit and I rarely get a dozen eggs that are not broken. Vegetables often have freezer damage, even in summer months. While FD's customer service people always refund the money for these items, it leaves me needing to shop elsewhere immediately. The quality, selection, and price is not competitive. I frequently get rotten produce, produce that is not labeled organic (I have bought my organic items exclusively from FD over the year and have never gotten an organic item that was not labeled as such.) I have repeatedly asked customer service to have a manager call me to explain why these labels are no longer on the product and nobody has ever called me back. It is impossible to get a beef roast that I want (They haven't offered a rump, bottom round in years!) The only post roast I can get from FD is a local Angus RWA chuck roast at $13.00/lb. That's over $55.00! I can get a certified Angus PRIME RWA from Shoprite for around $20.00 or a LOCAL Prime certified RWA Angus chuck roast from a butcher in Bayonne for $25.00 I am limited to the thickness of any steak that I buy, when I use to be able to choose the thickness. I just looked for hot dogs, doing a side by side comparaison with Shoprite's prices. FD was asking $10.19 (reg. price) for Nathan's Bun Length 8 pack Beef Franks compared to Shoprite's $5.49 (reg. price) for EXACTLY the same itiem. The seafood department offers ¼ of the selection they had several years ago and it is seldom fresh. I understand from financial reports that Getir is under pressure from its investors to cut operating costs and increase dividends. They appear to be doing this at the expense of once loyal customers. I had allowed my delivery pass to expire last summer and then thought I'd give FD one last chance. I won't be continuing after my delivery pass expires this time. There delivery drivers are superb and their customer service representatives are incredible. They are the only reasons that I give FD ONE STAR.

I've been a loyal customer for about four years and have always appreciated their food quality and customer service. However, something seems to have changed. I placed an order today for delivery between 1 PM and 3 PM--an important one for a dinner party. At 4 PM, I received a notification saying the order was delayed but still on its way. By 5:30 PM, nothing had arrived, so I checked my account, only to find a message saying, "Contact customer service." When I reached out, I was told my order couldn't be delivered because the bag was damaged in transit. While that's already frustrating, what truly upset me was how they handled it afterward. I spoke with two customer service representatives, and all they told me was, "The order amount was just authorized, not charged, so feel free to place another order. The funds will be released back to your card in 2-3 days." I explained that this was unacceptable for two reasons: No one informed me about the issue--I had to find out on my own that my order was never going to arrive. I wasn't given the option for a refund or a re-delivery, even if it meant a later time or the next day. I then requested that, instead of refunding me, they simply process a replacement order. To my shock, the customer service agent responded, "We are not going to give you free food. If you want food, you will have to pay with your own money." Where did this accusation even come from? I never asked for free food. I only asked that they take responsibility for their mistake and send me the order I had originally placed. They could settle the issue with their delivery team--I had done nothing wrong. This is simply not the way to do business. The lack of sincerity in fixing the situation or even offering a proper apology is deeply disappointing. Congratulations--you've just lost a loyal customer. I won't be ordering from them again.

Last few weeks have been awful. Just opened a loaf of Fresh Direct Multi-Grain bread that had been frozen for a week or two for preservation - it developed black mold in the freezer. Last week they came an hour early, and the bag was flooded with milk although nothing was leaking - they had just put the items in a flooded bag. This week they also came an hour early - had I not been home at the time they would have left fish and dairy items to spoil in the heat. I'm canceling my subscription - I've had enough.

I'm a longtime Freshdirect member and I truly appreciate their service and selection of fresh food, alcohol and meals. You can literally order the night before if you need something in a pinch. The delivery people are always friendly. They now have a good selection of wine and liquor as well. I really like their desserts. Grocery delivery is truly a godsend for those of us without cars - it definitely beats schlepping groceries on public transportation and this is how I justify delivery fees- thinking about all the time, effort and money I'm not spending on gorcery shopping.

Regrettably, I can no longer give FD five stars as I did in 2020 given the horrendous delivery/transportation services that I have been receiving over the past several weeks. Orders left by door with no notifications or even a courtesy knock. Items damaged enroute. Missing items too. FD took away all of my delivery notifications and thus far has been unable to restore. Hope this is improved so I can go back to a five star review.

I've been a customer since 2008. Have used them in both Brooklyn and Manhattan. Occasionally, there are hiccups, but customer service is usually very efficient in giving you credit back if something is missing or damaged. Their prices are on par for the most part, or better than most grocery stores in Manhattan. Some of their produce leaves a bit to be desired, but I still shop for it here when there are sales. Their real star products for me, are their meal kits and 4-minute meals. They're very tasty and easy to prepare and much less expensive than ordering in. I'm a Chef's Table and Delivery Pass member, so there are often deep discounts and free product trials. I've learned about so many new products, thanks to these benefits. All in all, I do recommend it, especially if you don't have the patience for grocery store visits.

I am DONE with Fresh Direct. I waited 2 1/2 hours from the text that my delivery was next. The frozen food was defrosted, 2 dozen eggs were smashed and leaking, and the crabs were missing claws. Now, I still have to go out and shop! Who needs this? Oh yeah, delivery is $20 PLUS a "congestion fee"!!!

two years ago, I was adding things to my card and it was getting closer to the holidays and fresh direct. Remove these items from my out of desperation for other customers, and I was very upset. However, on the day of delivery, they added extra things to my door and I was very impressed. This year I ordered a medium size and as always it is delicious. The turkey is you follow the although I do have to admit the root vegetables mostly but the gentleman dropped it at my door and ran and didn't get the tip that I think he deserved but yes, I from them again. And my in-laws from them every single year 2 giant turkeys and so many side dishes they are so happy with them. I wish I had more pictures besides the turkey that just came out of the oven, but you need to understand that everything has to be put in once turkey comes out so it was delicious.

Beware of incompetence from FreshDirect. I had placed an large order on Monday for a gathering. The shipment was scheduled for a Saturday afternoon delivery. When the delivery arrived, over half the items were missing. Namely over $100 worth of steaks and oysters are missing (which was the main thing for the gathering) There were no explanation given. I called their customer service, and they couldn't figure out why the items would be missing. They tried to contact their transportation and told me that they can't get an answer. They told me the order "might still arrive" but would be as late as 9pm. This is unacceptable. How can they expect customers to receive only half of their order without explanation? They had days before delivery to sort out the order and they can't figure out that the order is incomplete on the date of delivery? When contacting their customer service, their own people can't get an update or a direct answer from transportation. Do they expect their customers would be glad that only half of their order showed up and not knowing why? Does their transportation think it would be fine to leave out a big chuck of an order without telling anyone? Does their operation would think that it would be fine to only fulfill half of an order without notifying their customer? Ridiculous.

I have been a customer for over 5 years. I have referred several friends and I would ONLY do that if they were the best. The fruit and vegetables are always hand chosen for the best available!! The only scary thing is if you ask them for help they go BEYOND and I never want to take advantage because they are so nice and helpful!!

The concept is great - grocery delivery to your door! The execution by the deliverypeople is also quite good. So, why two stars? Inconsistent technical interfaces and extremely inconsistent customer service. The service is unreliable. If you don't care if the order shows or not, you're fine. If you're ordering for a specific event or for anything time-sensitive, forget it. Recently, the order interface has been reverting submitted, confirmed orders back into the cart instead of processing them, leaving you grocery-less and confused when it doesn't show up when scheduled. Reach out's to customer service go primarily unanswered. They seem to use some sort of bot system and then overseas answering desks that really have no clue how to help (or just don't care). If you get a "Will" or an "Edwin" or an "Annool" customer service rep, just disconnect and try again. Those 3 are consistently obtuse and unhelpful. They'll waste an hour of your time explaining the issue in paint-by-number terms and then announce happily that they cannot help you. Last but not least, the product quality is also inconsistent. Sometimes, it will be great; sometimes it will be rotting. It's just a toss up. If the customer service were reliable and consistent, I'd put up with the technical glitches for the overall convenience factor, however, with the poor customer service, any initial service benefit is vastly outweighed by the time drain and inefficiency. You spend an hour on the phone and end up with nothing. I think Paulette E. is correct in her review that the service was good under the original owner but has completely deteriorated after being sold.

I can't do it anymore, after 20 years, at two residencies, I just don't think I can do it anymore. There have been problems on pretty much every order. One recent one everything arrived at room temperature and nothing that was supposed to be frozen was frozen. Today, I picked a 7-9 pm window which was when I knew I would be home. Without calling me, they dropped two bags totalling $200 at my door at 5pm, bypassing my doormen somehow. Fish. Chicken. Deli salads. I came home to find all this food slowly rotting at my doorstep. They just left perishables sitting at my door, two hours early, on an 80 degree day, I can't wrap my mind around it. The second star is because they don't give you a hard time when you call. They are patient on the phone, and everything was refunded. But then some sort of FD manager, IDK who he was, got angry that I was refunded, went back to my building, and started harassing the building staff, saying I claimed he never delivered the food. This nearly ended in a police report. While this was happening, I was getting automated texts telling me my order was next! that my order had just been delivered! utter chaos, the only thing that comes close to this is a major airline. I'm tired of spending so much money only to listen to podcasts to determine if I'll be poisoned or not. I'm out!

I have been using FreshDirect for years, since 2008 is when I think I started. It offers a wide selection of quality products. It is not the cheapest, but prices are definitely reasonable. Customer Service is great. Delivery has always been for the most part on time and drivers are very friendly and courteous. There were some glitches during the height of the COVID pandemic, but honestly that was to be expected as it happened with all grocery delivery services at that time. I also find their prepared items are very good. They also rarely substitute. And in addition, I like that their food all comes from a dedicated state-of-the-art warehouse. Unlike InstaCart or DoorDash, it is not someone just grabbing items off a store shelf and throwing them in a bag to bring to you.

I made my first order on 11/7/24. Delivery next day between 6xm to 8am. I got up at 5:30am to make sure the order was delivered. I am here, from another state, helping my cancer sick son and his wife who just had surgery. This order was very important... and they CANCELED it without letting me know. So at 8am. I typed in my newly created Fresh Direct password only to find out they'd cancelled if because someone decided that my husband's card was a fraud. When I asked online chat system what the problem was, I was told it was because it was an out state billing address, duh!, and because "you didn't use any promotional codes for your first order like everyone else does" Which is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of in my entire life of 84 years. Because I didn't use any promotional codes LIKE EVERYONE ELSE DOES? I could use a lot of codes right now, but they would ALL be EXPLETIVES! Seriously? That's the reasoning? WOW and I'm supposed to believe in this company? Who's running this place? A ten year old? I have to conform to some stupid code I didn't even have time to see? So now my order is late and my poor sick family has to wait another day? OMG! I do not trust this company to get anything right. Jeeeeeez!

I have been using Fresh Direct since covid and it was a godsend. my doorman building recently ( several months) require that the delivery person show ID for security purposes. The delivery people refuse to show ID. ( one can draw their own conclusions as to why they refuse!) . As such I have to go down to the lobby and lug my groceries to my apartment! Oh, did I mention I tip in advance! I have contacted fresh direct customer service on multiple occasions but to no avail. Drivers still refuse. Terrible customer service. too bad, this was such a great company/service.

Been using FD for YEARS. Like, their express service was sidekick?! On a separate app. That's old. They used to be quality and perfection for service and good quality, specially for meat and fish. Not sure what's happening to the company but it's done. The options are many around for grocery delivery. If you're not on your A game you go down. Missing items, lack of customer service and extremely high prices. Sad to say goodbye but done and done. RIP

I only give them the one star because of the fact that they way over charge for everything. Otherwise the service is good and they always have what you put in your cart. Unlike some other places like stop and shop who almost always short you on 20% of your order claiming out of stock. Best bet is to take them up on their $50 dollars off on your first 2 orders and then after that don't use them. Maybe one day Customer service will actually do their job and read all the negative reviews and fix it.

I want to love FreshDirect, but ... tried them for the first time yesterday. Delivery was great. What leads me to leave a less "loving" review is the Heirloom Tomatoes. I was excited about getting them, but they were tasteless and almost immediately became soft. Not sure if they were ripe. I ordered 2 heads of lettuce, they were miniscule. The one good thing were the cheeses, a Goat Gouda was great. At this point, I doubt I'll order again. Veggies are my main focus and it looks unlikely I'll get what I'd like. I wish I were able to get to the Green Mkt up my block ... now there is a good place to get fabulous locally grown heirloom tomatoes etc. Sorry FreshDirect.

I think this company is deceptive in their advertising. I have never ordered from them, but a relative recommended me. I was to receive a coupon so I may send groceries to a housebound family member. Fresh Direct would not honor the coupon because another family member was also helping out and sent food to the same housebound relative. I explained the situation and they still would not stand by their word. I have taken my business elsewhere. If the customer service is this poor, I prefer to send many orders from another company that knows how to maintain relationships.

Firstly I spend 2 hours ordering and then the delivery person doesn't deliver and it's marked delivered. Then I spent two hours looking for the item to get to know that it was never delivered, and then I talked to email or customer service so many times, and then I was charged again without my permission to reorder. Then I have to spend many hours back and forth trying to get the refund. And then it's been weeks trying to get the refund but I still didn't get it. I am frustrated with Fresh Direct's service. and then ended up never refunding and tells me to talk to bank about it. and never refunded me my 200 dollars

And to top it off the last two deliveries had their staff try to enter our building without a mask and the other one of their delivery staff threatened our doorman after being instructed to use the service entrance. He refused and I had to meet him on the street at night to get my groceries. We're done with this company.

Unreliable. I thought it would be easier to order cupcakes for my daughter's birthday party at school that would respect all dietary restrictions. But FreshDirect never showed up. I called after the delivery time had passed and was told the driver had "missed my delivery". I'll never order anything again.

I placed my first order with Fresh Direct. The initial trial charge went through on my credit card. The charge for the order is pending on my credit card, but here comes the surprise. My order was never delivered. When I tried to log on to the website- where I have a confirmed account, I could not log in -- I was getting a now email is associated error (though I partially show up). I called customer support-- apparently my order was canceled (though I recieved ZERO communication regarding this -- and again the charges are pending on my credit card. Apparently there is a fraud investigation but they cannot tell me anytihng (and yes the account confirmed with a phone number certainly exists as he can see is) but he cannot give me any details. And I was told to just wait and hope that they reached out. I certainly won't try this service again and will not recommend it .

A truck backed into my light post and I have called five times each time I was told someone would call back and file a claim !!! Nothing done ! No calls back ! People beware if incident on your property fresh direct will not respond and ignore all calls !!

I will no longer be using this service. I gifted this to myself as a new mom and wanted one less thing to do. I've ordered from them 12 times, and 5 times I have been missing a part of my order. When I call, it is impossible to get them to deliver what they missed the same day or even to be able to pick up the same day, making it impossible to plan for the week using this service. When asked if I could talk to someone else, I am told that not even the customer service people speak directly to the people above them, which shows in the complete lack of customer service. I will now try out instacart or amazon grocery delivery.

Fresh Direct prepared foods are dangerous to consumers. Sulfites are not listed in product information. While Fresh Direct informs buyers that their kitchen uses shellfish, nuts, and other highly allergic ingredients, Fresh Direct no longer lists sulfites in the product information tab.They used to provide that information My family had a reaction to the chicken salad because it has sulfites. I wouldn't recommend the product anyway since it was so salty it not fit for human consumption.

I have been a member since 2020 and they mess up a decent amount but nothing compares to this week. My order -- placed 5 days ahead of time -- was supposed to arrive by 4 but didn't come until after 8. Huge family dinner could not be made. Nowhere to go as all places were full. Then another order later in the week was delivered without half of the items I ordered. Then they wouldn't refund d money to my card -- only a store credit and I will never use them again. Not worth the effort b/c they mess up way too much.

The incompetence is staggering. I ordered a delivery recently that didn't arrive. They never called to notify me. When I called them, they arranged for a delivery the next day that never arrived. Their house is not in order. I would recommend people not do business with them.

*** 3.5 stars *** I got a promo for FreshDirect when I moved into my building and initially ignored it - I live above a Whole Foods, after all - but the promo was too good to ignore. $50 off you first two orders of over $99 and free delivery with a 60 day trial membership with Express. I will say that the prices here are higher than elsewhere so I think that convenience is factored into the price. Even with the promo, I was wary of using FreshDirect based on all the negative reviews - late windows, incorrect items, poor customer service - it almost didn't seem worth the trouble to try. But at the end of the day I'm a sucker for a bargain and I gave it a try. No complaints. My order arrived right in the middle of my delivery window, they brought it up to my door in my apartment building, and all the items I selected arrived correctly. I ordered some fresh cut fruit and soups to try, and while the chicken noodle soup and matzo ball soup left something to be desired (just lacking in flavor, but not at all bad), the turkey chili was great. The fruit was fresh and good, although the serving was a bit smaller than I expected (really just enough for one snack). You get $5 off if you get your delivery between Tuesday and Thursday and they even threw in free hotdogs with my first order with Express. I have to say, the promos are quite good and I think FreshDirect's model is getting people to place recurring orders of staples, and it would be great for someone who is consistently ordering the same things and wants the convenience of a set window and delivery. As for me, I'm not sure it's worth the premium if there are no promos since you can so easily get anything delivered nowadays. A fine service though.

Do not shop with FreshDirect. They will not deliver your groceries. This is the second time in about 6 months that the app said my order was delivered and it was not. The first time this happened Mark who is one of the higher ups contacted me directly and made it right by giving me credits and having my order redelivered. This time I spoke to Nick who had no explanation other than the driver has gone home and offered me nothing for the inconvenience. If you want to spend a lot of money for nothing and horrible customer service then please shop with them. If you want to receive your order or have things made right - look elsewhere. FreshDirect drivers are liars and thieves and cannot be trusted.

Totally hit or miss. Some deliveries are fine, some are not. Today my order came with about half a cup of milk spilled in the bag. The crazy thing is, my container of milk was NOT leaking, it was from someone else's order. But it was EVERYWHERE and the hallway carpet now needs to be shampooed because it was leaking through the bag. It was on everything. I emailed and they offered to refund the milk! They didn't seem to understand what had happened. I am probably done with them. It was beyond gross.

Awesome! Love the produce, meats everything. I like fresh direct bc I do not spend alot versus the big supermarkets! Always on time and everything is packaged ! Do yourself a favor and order from them. Takes out all of stress! Love them!!!!! 5 stars

We are a new user to Fresh Direct (FD). The first 2 orders had incredible fruits and vegetables and thought we would be users for a lifetime. The third order was satisfactory, and our recent order was truly a disappointment. It was so lacking in quality that I closed our FD account- didn't even want the store credit. Went shopping today to make up for yesterday's order. Unfortunately for us, it is a time game- it is not even about the money as it is about the time. If we need to make up the order at a different grocery- it is not worth having an account.

AVOID SHOPPING WITH FRESH DIRECT. I used their service for years but their operations are now a mess. There are other high quality options through InstaCart or Amazon. I placed a recent order with Fresh Direct - hoping that things had improved. My groceries never arrived - yet the app showed them as having been delivered (similar experience to other reviewers now that I have read the reviews). When I called they indicated that it had been a mistake on their part and offered to send the groceries the next morning. They never showed up. When I called again... they said they had no record of the 'reorder', apologized and committed to calling back. Never called. When I called a third time .. they said that the soonest I could get my order was two days after I had made the order to begin with. Shop elsewhere.

I cannot say enough about how much better a food delivery service Fresh Direct is over any other I have used. It isn't only that they deliver what I've ordered on time. Since I have zero time to cook or mess around in the kitchen,, Fresh Direct's prepared meals are a godsend. Everything I've ordered is fresh and delicious and EASY!! Oh, and they are not only delicious, tasty and easy, they are also nutritionally great. Is there anything that can be better than all this? Oh, yes, and it's definitely worth the money.

The delivery guy left my package on the sidewalk and did not ring the doorbell nor called my phone. He took a picture of the package on the sidewalk as a proof of delivery. Seriously? Ofcourse someone else will take it. You call this a business? The most critical part of your business is to hand the package to the customer. All that marketing and preparing and packaging to finally give it to a careless delivery guy? I asked for a full refund and will never ever buy from them again.

Absolute incompetence. Their new system is egregiously flawed. Inputting information for payment is next to impossible. When you call customer service, they instruct you to "call your bank" as it could in NO WAY be their fault. They have individuals who are designated to call you on a "secure" line as most of their employees are now remote to take your information...that NEVER happens within the given time perimeter. They will then call you hours later admitting ignorance to your plight and guarantee a call form a "supervisor". That individual will call, boasting managerial clout but in reality can do ZERO to rectify the situation. Our organization worked with their "corporate" department and apparently because we are a not for profit and we had an albeit frugal order ($400+), they decided our business wasn't worth it. We will NEVER work with them again. Furthermore, although we are a small business, we have some significant social media presence. It will become our mission to inform as many people of the less than acceptable business practices that have become of FD as of late. BUYER BEWARE.

This was going to be my replacement grocery for Amazon's Whole Foods until my was on sale today, the day of my delivery, but not the date of my order, I don't get thr 20% off. I reached out to their chat and was told - no sale for you! FreshDirect is expensive but their produce and fish are really great so I was ready to keep using this service, even with the super glitchy app. Now I'll trek to Citarella for my fish and my neighborhood grocery and Trader Joe's for everything else.

I've used FreshDirect for years, but my last two orders had serious refrigeration problems (as in liquid ice cream pops.) I foolishly took a chance and still ate sliced deli chicken from the order and ended up with a 24 hour bout of food poisoning. I'm not sure what's changed -- whether the refrigeration problems are in the warehouse, in the delivery system, or both -- but I'm no longer comfortable buying any refrigerated or frozen items from FreshDirect. I don't want to expose myself or my family to food poisoning from unsafe food storage issues.
