Freya Bakery adjacent to Pike Place makes tasty croissants - Review - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Freya is a cute little bakery adjacent to Pike Place that makes a wide assortment of pastries and coffee drinks—but we're mainly excited about their croissants. We would gladly curl up in those toasty, thin layers and take a nap. While the plain version could use just a touch more sugar to bring out more character of the dough, Freya has plenty of other interesting options, too, including a creamy spanakopita version that would be a hit at an afternoon picnic." - Gabe Guarente

Famous Seattle Restaurants That Live Up to the Hype | Eater Seattle

"Named after the Norse goddess of love (who rides a chariot pulled by two cats!), this bistro inside Ballard’s National Nordic Museum is getting nationwide press for its modern take on Nordic cuisine. The streamlined, light-flooded dining room is veldig skandinavisk, and dishes like the juniper-smoked salmon smørrebrød (open-faced sandwich) and aquavit cocktails go the extra mile to drive the point home." - Meg van Huygen

Just below Pike Place Market is a small Scandinavian bakery. Walk inside you find many pasties, breakfast items, and coffee. Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast experience. My eight-year-old daughter loved the banana chocolate chip bread. My wife and I enjoyed the meat quiche and breakfast bun with bacon. The cardamom knot had good flavor but it was cold and hard. To drink, we both got the Kobenhaven Latte. It’s a slightly sweet latte with almond, cardamom and other flavors. The space is small but there are a few outdoor tables along the sidewalk. Inside is a water jug with plastic cups and dog treats. Service was

This cozy pier-side café was absolutely worth it! Though their espresso was a bit sour, they’re definitely known for their baked goodies, which were absolutely phenomenal and lived up to all the hype! We got the Churro Cruffin, which was perfectly sweet while tasting faintly of cinnamon, feeling both flaky and soft from its croissant-esque nature, and being perfectly buttery. It also had a rich custard filling! We also got the Dutch Chocolate Cake, which similarly was spectacularly rich (and dense as well)! Even if these delicious goods do run on the pricier side, what a beautiful café by the shore!

Small place, service was fast and the staff was friendly. Loved the avocado toast and mokkadom. Raspberry bloom late was excellent!

Freya is by far the BEST place for coffee and freshly baked treats! Everything is made fresh daily!!! My gf and I were so amazed how fantastic the food and coffee was, we both decided to make this place a must go every time we visit Seattle! Can’t wait to get back and try all the other sweet and savory treats! Sincerely, Derek & Jess Customers for life!

The lattes are amazing, the spice & flavor was so delicious. Typically I’m a flavor gal but the plain latte suited my needs! The matcha was okay. But the real kicker is their pastries, the tomato danish was 10/10 and the blueberry scone was a nice little sweet treat. They made my tongue pores go crazy, they’re so flakey and buttery it’s perfect! The seating outside was kind of dirty but who am I to judge

WOW! Utterly delicious and the best baked goods I've had in a while. The tomato pesto Danish stole the show. Such a fantastic treat!

Freya is a magical Bakery and Coffee Shop tucked away below the market place. Best kept secret in Seattle! The owner, Maria knows what she is doing! You will see their bakery items like the cruffin (a criossant & a muffin) whole sale all around town. Gum is always a friendly face there too and the team crushes it during busy times!

my rating is mostly based on the food value. space was cute enough, staff was friendly and "efficient"... food was underwhelming. my drink was the Hagen-something latte which was tasty, but very sweet. the only complexity was the cardamom, and for 8oz at $6 you'd think it would be a little more special. my food choice was the morning bun, which was was also very tasty but very small. think slightly bigger than a dinner roll with a smattering of arugula. yes, i saw the prices before i ordered, but after looking at all the pretty pastries in the case i thought my sandwich would be worth $12. one final disappointment was that they served me in to-go containers (they did not ask at the register). thanks for contributing to our planet's waste problem, freya.
