OH MY GOODNESS! Have you ever been to Friar Tuck’s Restaurant and Bar in Nevada City? If not, you MUST GO!
We ended up finding this place on accident because we went to the Victorian Christmas. For some reason We thought there would be more street vendors selling food. We walked up to this restaurant and asked if they had any openings, of course they asked you have a reservation. I said, that would probably make more sense since you guys packed. They told us an hour and a half. Just owner just happened to be walking by and said, come with me. He brought us into the bar where there was actually a table to sit down. I told him, we actually have six people in our group, not two. Not a problem, two people sat at the bar and the rest sat at a table. They were slammed, but she would never know because the service was so excellent.
Hands down, it was the best service, ambiance, and chicken parm I have EVER had. Instead of the traditional pasta, the chicken was served on top of mashed potatoes, which was such a delicious twist.
The owner was incredibly friendly, walking around, giving hugs to long-time customers, and making new guests feel so welcome. I told the owner how refreshing it was to see him walk around and be so nice and so my mom and I took a picture with him. He literally handed me his business card with his personal phone and said if you ever need anything when you’re up in town, just call me. SO RARE!!!
If you're looking for a fun out-of-town date night, Friar Tuck’s is the place to be.
