Frida is an exceptional Mexican restaurant that consistently delivers a great dining experience. The food quality and service are top-notch and have remained consistent over the years. We enjoyed some cocktails, chips and salsa, salad, and octopus. For anyone looking for a great Mexican cuisine and great service, Frida is the place to go. It's the kind of restaurant you can rely on for a wonderful meal every time. Hasn’t changed over the years.

Freshly cooked, good quality mexican food, with a fairly thorough food and drinks menu. It didn't disappoint as far as the food is concerned, but service was a bit slow, and they missed an order. The brunch is fairly well known and popular with a good deal.

I really enjoyed our dinner here. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The good was great. I had a carnitas taco and a pastor taco and really enjoyed them. I also had the mango margarita and it was so good! I really enjoyed the outdoor seating area. Even though it's close to the street it felt cozy and relaxing. I will definitely be eating here again.

Beautiful ambiance with massive bar. Inside and outside seating. Excellent service. We were seated within a minute on a Saturday, without reservation, party of 4 for late lunch. I tried their enchilada with salsa verde. We all enjoyed our cocktails. I esp liked their punta fuego.😋 They validate, but you still have to pay a few bucks for parking. This was my 2nd time at this place with my co-workers at both times.

Had not visited in about a bit over a yr, our intention was to go to cheesecake factory then a movie, but wait was 1hr plus, so we thought let's try Fridas we haven't been in a while. We'll so so glad we did, ZERO wait time. We were seated right away, 1st server came over almost right behind the hostess who sat us,and left tus fresh chips and salsa, immediately after they took our drink order and we had our drinks in the table within 2 max 3min. They have definitely made a few changes nothing drastic, but most importantly definitely elevated the service. The food was delicious, the kids menu excellent, our food was nice and hot, ready to eat hot, not microwave burn your mouth hot. It was delicious, and the only reason I gave it a 4 is because my mole had a bit of something missing in the taste, my husband's thinks it was just me, but it used to remind me of my grandma's mole, this time it did not at all :/ I still ate it and enjoyed my time with my family. Also, we were early for the movie, so because of their amazing service and delicious food we had a wonderful evening 😊 our money well spent 😊 highly recommend 😊 (Sorry so long winded)

Went with a friend for dinner, first time here for me, but not her. We shared the esquites and munched on the included chips and salsa. The green avacado based salsa was a nice change from a more typical green salsa. I had the octopus chefs special, amazing! (yes I often choose octopus when it's on the menu!), my friend had the chicken enchiladas (her go to here) and we finished with the churros for dessert. The drink menu had some really good options, I went with the spicy margarita made with my favorite ancho chile liquor (Ancho Reyes) The place was quiet on Thursday so we didn't need reservations, but they get packed on the weekends, so they are recommended. Would definitely go back if I'm in the area again.

Google
Beautiful sit down Mexican restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, fast service, and kind staff. The food was mixed. We got the mixed ceviche to start and it was tasty. The tomatillo sauce on the enchiladas was a little too punchy and didn’t let any of the other flavors in the cheese come out. The mahi mahi was good. The shrimp quesadilla was especially tasty as was the mahi mahi entree. All in all would come back but would skip the enchiladas.

My wife and I joined my friend family to dine here yesterday. They made reservation and the restrauant was able to accommodate for our party of 13. They seated us in toward the back of the restrauant and the inside of this place is nice with outdoor seating. They also have a special menu for kids too. I got the Salmon A LA Diabla and asked for the chile sauce on the side. The Salmon was not seasoned well which I think it's because they usually put the chile sauce over it. I didn't like the taste of the chile sauce so I used the salsa and green sauce that came with the chips. The rice that came with my plate wasn't good either and the asparagus wasn't cooked correctly. My wife got the chicken with Mole and she enjoyed her dish. They give you a decent size so it will be fulfilling. My friend got their chile relleno and he thought his dish was okay as well but nothing too special. The prices for these dishes are also high, especially just 1 taco but it's understandable since it's at the Americana. My wife also got their Margaritas for her drink while I got a coke. Our waitress was okay in the beginning but after we got our food, I didn't see her again to get refill on my coke. My rating: Food: 3 star, I did not enjoy my dish and for the price they charge for it I don't think it was worth it. They give you a lot of tortilla chips with the salsa. Service: 3.5 star, the service wasn't that great but also wasn't so bad either. Our waitress was nice but she just wasn't that attentive to our table. Parking: 4 star, they validate parking if you park near the restrauant or you can park at a parking structure across the street that give 90 minutes free.

Yelp
I have to say that I enjoyed the food. The margarita was tasty but had a little too much ice. The waitress taking our order made a lot of mistakes, from forgetting one of our appetizers, bringing me the wrong drink, and turned the heater off when I asked for it to be turned down.
google avatar

Yelp
3.5 stars for the food (a little better than average), good vibes, and good service. Prices are high, but the large portions of appetizers and entrees serve 2-3 people. The free chips and salsa were good. Both salsas were mild spicy. The dark red one was smoky with a chili pepper flavor while the green one was citrusy, oniony, sweet, and sour. - Classic Margarita on the rocks ($12). The flavor was good and very lime forward. I could taste the alcohol, but it was on the weaker side. - Queso Fundido ($15.95 + $2.95 added chorizo). The melted oaxacan cheese was just alright, a little bland. We added chorizo at our server's recommendation. I appreciated that the chorizo wasn't salty, but it did not have a distinguishing flavor. The queso was served with warm flour tortillas, which I think were sonoran style. The overall effect was like DIY hand-torn quesadilla bites. It was a little heavy to eat before an entree. - Carnitas Platter ($24.95). The pieces of pork on top were dry. The meat got juicier towards the bottom of the pile. The pork in the middle was dry like chicken breast, but not tough to chew. At least the flavor was good; it was savory, and I could taste the beer. I gave the chicharron to my bf. I liked the rice, which had some pieces of carrot and zucchini in it for health. The pico de gallo was okay, but didn't really taste like pico de gallo. It was more like a sweet tomato salsa. I liked the avocado salsa better. The refried beans were good, as were the housemade corn tortillas: they were thick and chewy with a slightly earthy taste.

Yelp
Frida platter - 6.5 Chilaquiles - 9/10 Quesadillas - 8.5/10 Tacos - 9.5/10 Service - 10/10 Our server was amazing, the food came out SUPER fast, same with drinks and anything else we needed. I got the Frida platter and honestly it was ok, it felt like it was missing something. Maybe a protein? but I would highly recommend the tacos and chilaquiles! Same with the quesadillas if you like quesadillas, they are really good here. We got seated instantly on Black Friday , and there were plenty of tables available. I love the design of the restaurant, really nice light ambiance. My sisters favorite restaurant at the Americana. Would go back again.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place! :( Sadly, I found the food to be pretty bland. The potato taquitos did not have much flavor. The chips were also a bit stale and are not unlimited (it's about $3.50 if you want more!). I ordered the carnitas taco and found the meat to be pretty tough. I did like my strawberry margarita though! While the ambiance of the restaurant is nice, the service was a bit slow. Overall, the food costs didn't feel worth coming back for!

Yelp
COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. None of the staff wears a mask. All customers are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. There were no hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was eating my food with a friend from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently do have happy hour. It's Monday - Friday from 3PM - 6PM. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking garages for this establishment are dispersed all around. There are several parking garages all around the Americana / Glendale Galleria. Take your pick. I would highly recommend parking at the Glendale Galleria's parking garage and walking over. The parking garage at the Americana is small and tight, so if you drive a big or nice car, you have been warned! Also, this restaurant is located right next to South Brand Boulevard, and BevMo is right across the street from it. I lowkey got lost finding this restaurant because on Apple's Maps, it said it was located behind the Cheesecake Factory when in fact it wasn't. SMH Food: I ordered the carnitas enchiladas, which came with Mexican rice and refried beans. Enchiladas are one of those foods that, when done correctly, you can't stop thinking about The enchiladas that I ordered were packed with carnitas. I was decently surprised by that. They totally didn't skimp. The carnitas were soft, rich, juicy, flavorful, and extremely tender. It was so fricken delicious. The corn tortillas that encased the carnitas were warm and soft. They weren't soggy thankfully. Both the green and the red sauce had a good consistency, and they both weren't spicy at all. I loved both sauces. The refried bean that came with my enchiladas were rich and creamy. The Mexican rice was cold and disappointing, but thankfully that wasn't the star of the dish. It was the enchiladas, so I didn't really care for the Mexican rice at all. I also ordered a sangria. Slightly disappointed with my sangria because it was definitely watered down, but it still fruity and tasty. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, knowledgeable, courteous, helpful, welcoming, and polite. Gabby was our server, and she did a fantastic job serving us. Amazing customer awareness. She knew that I was undecided on which sauce I wanted for my enchiladas, so she told me that she would make sure the kitchen put half red and half green sauce on my enchiladas. Perfection! Excellent communication skills. She listened to my friend and I and asked all the right questions to ensure that we got the dining experience that we wanted. Overall, my friend and I had a phenomenal experience dining at Frida thanks to Gabby and her outstanding customer service. I honestly would have given this place 4 stars because I think their sides for their entrees and sangria could have been better, but Gabby was the saving grace for this review. She is the reason why I am giving this place a 5 star. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

Yelp
Fresh guac made to order and warm chips to start off. They were a perfect pair. I usually order rib-eye tacos but this Frida seems to be a rogue and their menu is not the same as other Frida's (in BH and Sherman Oaks). The tacos are okay, burritos are also okay, the place is upscale but welcoming and service is good. When we visit Frida in Glendale, we're never disappointed especially when we have guests from out of town. It's not the best mexican food in town and quite honestly, the best ones are not the fancy ones but if you want to impress your guests from outside of California and want them to enjoy a bougie Mexican fare, this is the place to be. Remember to order you guac with extra jalapenos!

Yelp
It's a nice place with perfect service Reasonable prices and good food Overall this place is at least 4.5 stars

Yelp
The food was delicious, and the service was excellent. The molcajete is a generous portion, making it ideal for sharing. The salsa that accompanies it is well-balanced, with a nice blend of acidity and spiciness. The carnitas platter was tender and flavorful. I thoroughly enjoyed my drink, and the popsicle was a delightful touch!

Yelp
We came by here on a saturday night with no reservations and were seated within 5 minutes which was nice. It was really busy which made service a little slower. It took about 5 minutes before someone welcomed us and asked if we had any questions or if we wanted anything to drink. The service was spotty throughout the day but it makes sense. The drinks and food made up for it as they were good. We ordered the Jamaica drink with the popsicle inside which was displayed nicely. For food we ordered the Carnitas platter and the Chilaquiles which were both good. If we are in the area again this place would be something we would be interested in coming back to!

Yelp
Went in at almost closing (didn't realize, we were walking around Americana and everything else was packed). The staff is super friendly and was able to accommodate. At sit in, you get an order of chips and salsa. Due to the business of a weekend shift, it took a little longer for the food to come out. It's a nice lively restaurant to sit and have drinks and tapas. Not to sit and have a full meal. Nacho portion was huge, but 1 standard taco is $8. Food was good, but nothing crazy or different from an average Mexican restaurant or taco stand.

Yelp
Nice big place that sits in the Caruso-owned Americana mall/plaza. 1st time there and it was fabulous. Frieda's looked cavernous but no one was there except us. Slow day? I had the chicken rice soup and it was incredible. Tasty broth. I would come back for just this dish if only because no one else ever has this item on the menu. I also had the pastor taco which was ok. Parking lot in the plaza was close by but you have to pay. Free parking in Galleria parking lot but you have a further walk.

Yelp
I was short on time and needed a quick lunch so I popped in here. When my server, Jaime, found out I was in a hurry he did everything to expedite my meal so I could enjoy it instead of rushing. I wish the food had been as good as his service. I think the chips are very good, and I liked both the smoky salsa and the guacamole dip. Unfortunately, the chicken and beef flats were a little dry and overcooked, almost impossible to cut with a knife. I eventually just scraped the meat fillings out and ate them alone. But I like sitting on their patio and watching American shoppers pass while sipping a margarita.

Yelp
Lackluster food, ok service. The portion sizing is good- not too much, not too little. I ordered the Chilaquiles, but it was drowned in sauce. The main reason we came to eat here was there was no wait, and after waiting for 10-15 mins before someone took our drink order, i can see why there was no line. According to some locals i met, Frida was much better in the past, but looks to be trending the wrong direction. We came here ~530-6, so you'd expect more foot traffic, especially based on the location. That said, the restaurants around there were pretty busy- a sign perhaps? I don't think i'll be coming here anytime soon. i'd opt to eat elsewhere.

Yelp
Took myself on a date here for a self care day. It was a hot day and people watching was nice on their outdoor section. Though, because of how their glass wall is situated, it caught a lot of heat so it was really uncomfortable to eat there in a hot fishbowl while I was slowly sweating like Al pastor at a taco stand. The food was also okay, but a drink and an enchilada plate coming out to $50 with a tip is not it, even for this area. The peach mojito was sweet. That's the flavor it was. Sweet. Couldn't taste the peach and the mint was muddled, but didn't taste minty. Nothing mojito about it. The cheese enchiladas had the perfect amount of cheese but I was disappointed the chicken enchilada didn't come with cheese inside it. The sauces are also different than what I'm used to, but it's whatever.

Yelp
Great experience all around! If you can, request Gabby as your server! & if management is reading this, please, please acknowledge Gabby for her exceptional dedication to taking care of her diners. She deserves a raise & all the accolades. She truly was the reason why my expericne was phenomenal. Also, manager Fabian really knows exactly what he's doing. The restaurant fires on all cylinders & runs like clockwork. The entire (hostess, servers, assistants, management) staff give the genuine impression that they take great pride in what they do & everyone there truly knows how to treat its diners. I very much appreciate that. I had been wanting to go here for a quite awhile & every time I pass by -especially on the weekends- it seems like the this is the place to be, especially come evening. I made reservations via their website (about 2 weeks in advance) so I'd highly recommend doing so just for good measure. Although we dined outside, the quick glimpse of the beautiful decor has convinced me to definitely come back & have dinner indoors. That said, I'm very happy that I dined al fresco - in the perfect L.A. weather of 5pm (that magic Summertime when you don't need a jacket). It also helps that they have plenty of patio heaters. One thing that I appreciated off the bat is that ordering a flight of any of their tequilas & mezcals - especially the top shelf items, allows you to try things without having to go in on an entire bottle. I went with a flight some of their top 3 mezcals: - Burrito Fiestero, Cenizo - Quiereme Mucha, Cuishe - Quiereme Mucha, Tepextate Instead of shelving out what would had been $61 - I got to try a slightly smaller sample of these 3 premium mezcals for a very reasonable fraction of the price. Which also included a sample of house sangria as a chaser. As far as food goes, I knew that I wanted the Frida Molcajete (pictured) & it didn't disappoint. It's a great way to sample a great array of the delicious foods that they have to offer. I also highly recommend ordering the additional (3 prawns for 12.95) Come for the food, come back for the service! I'll definitely be coming back very soon & thank you for a very lovely experience, Frida Mexican Cuisine.

Yelp
Food comes in big portions and they give complimentary chips with salsa. We had a work white elephant brunch here and staff was accommodating. The restaurant itself wasn't busy but we arrived when they opened. p

Yelp
This was my first time ever eating at Fridas, it was really good, I had the cocktail de camaron & loved it. My bf had the flautas and said they were really good. Overall I would come back here again.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but the food was so bland! I mean, there's nothing else to write for this review. Complimentary chips and salsa - the green salsa was decent but overall, the taste was standard. My wife and I usually finish the chips and salsa in most instances but it didn't happen this time. Flautas - the beef and chicken lacked any flavor and tasted like shredded paper. The tortilla itself was over-fried. Rice and beans - below average. Frita Platter - do not order this. Came with potato taquitos and literally had no flavor. The "sopes" were worse -the masa base wasn't even what it was supposed to be. Not sure what it was but I didn't try it. Topped with refried beans and nothing else. Pass. Overall, the service was not great. Our waitress was not around most of the time and we waited a long time for refills. They charge for "hot sauce" and not worth it. That's all folks!
google avatar

Susan U.

Yelp
Such a busy place. Early dinner was really crowded but we got our table fast. It was an outside seating and we loved it. We had margaritas and I had the tamarind. It was very good and tasty. I ordered the vegetarian taquitos and I was very satisfied. Chips and salsa are fresh. Such a good place to catch up.

Yelp
Me and my bf tend to stop by Frida whenever we walk around the Americana area. This time we came to visit it was actually my birthday. I didn't want to make a big deal so we kept it low key. It was a chill Wednesday evening when we came in and sat in the outside patio. They brought out the chips and salsas as soon as we sat and we went ahead and order ourselves drinks too. We order 3 different dishes to share, we loved it and everything was great from the food to the drinks!!
google avatar

Kathy V.

Yelp
Sigh... wish I saw my buddies review lol I just happened to see hmm what's there to eat at the Americana. I know I've been here before but it's been maybe 4yrs ago but it was a blurr. I didn't bother to read reviews and meh.... The only thing good was the guacamole! But our server was nice. That's all folks!
google avatar

Ivan Lawrence A.

Yelp
Food They start you off with chips that come with green and red salsa. It was okay. Chips were salted properly but green salsa was almost flavorless and red salsa tasted of burnt chilies. I got the crab chile relleno which i was really excited for, but was severely disappointed by. Flavor was okay and passable but the chile was undercooked and tough to cut through and the crab filling was good and tasted like crab but was disappointing in flavor. The red and green salsa it came with was disappointing but passable as well. Service/Ambiance Nothing to complain on the servers here since they were nice and accomodating and the ambiance was good and welcoming. Our seating was bordering in the patio and it was december but there was enough space heaters that it wasn't too cold.

Tortillas were really good handmade ! Food was more on the blad side on the other service was good Ambiance was nice

Yelp
With all respect, I visited last night with friends and I do not feel I want to go back again. I ordered the Chile Relleno and I felt there was so much egg in the batter that at some point I would feel I was eating egg with Chile and I ended up removing the outside to just eat the Chile and you could see the batter appeared to be just a layer of egg. My friends also did not like their chicken enchiladas and quesadilla. I ordered a lemonade and thankfully I like watered down lemonade but I imagine it's not going to be a favorite for someone else because it was very watered down. I had ordered more chips & they forgot so I had to order more chips again at another time I saw the waiter. Then with the whole seating situation, they bumped into my chair and arms and my friend's chair and arms so many times and at some point the staff stopped saying sorry and would just bump into the chair. I want to hope they didn't realize because it was unreal how much throughout the night that happened. The ambiance would have been lovely if it wasn't for a guy yelling outside since their patio is street view and thankfully someone went out to stop it because it was way too loud to speak with even my friends right in front of me. If it wasn't for how crowded it is right outside the patio, the actual restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and beautiful if it was set up at another location! Overall, I did not have a great experience with the food or the staff so for these reasons I just wouldn't come back.

Yelp
The restaurant is very nice, and the food was awesome! The service was horrible and killed my experience. My server walked past me like 7 times and took care of 2 other tables who got seated after me. I didn't have a water until 10 minutes in, and then didn't get my margarita until I was almost halfway done with my food. As someone who has been a server for 6+ years, I've only not tipped one other time in , but this server got $0.00.

Yelp
I've been there long time ago, and yesterday my family and I decided to go back again. We're party of 5, the intro Chips & Salsa keeps you full, we ordered 4 Fajitas and a Burrito, the Beef Fajita was extremely tough and dry, the Shrimp fajita was way overcooked, and my burrito was nothing but rice and guacamole with tiny steaks. Just to top it off, my daughter wasn't happy with her margarita, it was too sweet, so the waitress recommended something, without mentioning the price. When I asked the bill, that Margarita recommendation was $35.00 a glass just to let you guys know, I felt like I was in Beverly Hills hotel. Unfortunately I will no longer visit this restaurant. Twice in a lifetime is enough!

Yelp
Idk wtf people are ordering; But I order from this place at least three times a week!! Everything is delicious, and I mean everything! I have tried every single thing on the menu at least twice! (I have attached pictures of my DoorDash orders, this does not include my girlfriend's phone, which has many more orders.) as an actual Mexican person, I can genuinely tell you that I am not sure what these people are smoking on when they leave this place a one star review. But I guarantee you it's not something they picked up a backpack boys Hollywood bc THIS PLACE IS THE BEEZ NEEZ! Come here, try it once, I dare you to tell me I'm lying! AND THE STAFF IS AMAZE-BALLS! Shout out to the lady on the phone. Always trying to get me right

Yelp
We went for the first time tonight. Probably the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant. We waited an hour for our table (that was fine). Had a table of 10. 6 adults and 4 kids. My first clue should have been the waitress being rude when asked her where the bathroom was prior to her knowing we were at her table. It took ages to get water- I'd say at least 20 mins. Took even longer to put in our food order, and then we got our food after 8:15pm. We ended up canceling our order because it was taking way too long. Even that took forever. And then another 20-30' mins to get the check. Literally would have left a $0 tip, however gratuity was already calculated in due to the party size. Absolute horrendous experience. Some of our other guests ended up eating some of their food but no one had anything good to say even about the quality of the food. Honestly have zero idea how this place is up and running.

Yelp
I pass by Frida's and I remember the three days of vomiting from their food. I want the management, and employees to realize if they slack off on hygiene or prep protocols it could happen when they go to their favorite eatery. Of course when the issue occurs further up the supply chain, what can be done. Good luck with this restaurant. If you like average, with an incredible location, then you will get average food with an incredible location.

Yelp
Great service, great music, they definitely honor the Mexican dishes & drinks. Coming back to try the chicken pozole!

Yelp
My dad passed by the Dodger's game they were showing on the screen and we just decided to hop in without any plans to eat. I was here for the drinks and was happy with the extensive menu at the bar! I finally decided to get myself a frozen margarita and Corona for my dad, and were surprised they served complimentary nachos with 2 dips! The bar tenders were cool so we really had an enjoyable night!

Yelp
Awesome mole enchiladas, it's a must try. Red enchiladas, not so much; I've had way better elsewhere. Margaritas are huge, overflowing, and awesome. Dishes are large portions so you'll be full when you leave. Service is good. It's a good spot to go have a drink at if you're in the Americana

Yelp
OK, so if you follow me at all, you know I love Glendale AND Mexican-American food (if you have spent time in Mexico as I have, you know we have Americanized their dishes, which means it is a popular food choice. I am here for that!). First of all, Frida (named for Frida Kahlo? the artistic decor sure reminds me of her) is located at Americana, one of the best free entertainment/shopping/relaxation spots in all of California. It is a non-stop party when the weather is good as it was this weekend. The place was literally hopping and the music nice and loud. It was pure joy and I never get tired of being there. Frida is huge and has multiple dining spaces both inside and out. We chose to be inside, as this was our first time there, and the interior is so darn beautiful, literally gleaming and glowing with gilt and colors. I had to adjust our portraits because we were variously lime, tangerine, and raspberry, depending the direction of the camera. Fun! I had no problem identifying what I was going to have (check out the menu shot I put here). The minute, I mean the second I see mole sauce on a menu, that is the dish I am going to have. I chose the cheese enchiladas with mole and asked for black beans, and we also ordered the vegetable enchiladas in salsa verde with black beans as well. We shared a Nachos Grande. To say the portions are generous is an understatement. Usually you get two enchiladas, right? These dishes come with three. Edgar, our main server was so efficient I wanted to hug him. He was right there the minute we needed him, then went somewhere else to delight some other table, then circling back to make sure we were happy. We were. I ordered an additional side of mole to take home and we left with a huge bag of the remainder of each dish, so we will have another entire meal later this week. That means you can just cut the ridiculously reasonable tariff in half. OMG, what more could you ask? The place was packed. We made reservations so we had no problem getting a table without waiting. As usual, I found great, free parking on Louise Street nearby and relished the chance to walk to and from Americana and Frida from there. Every step of the way, there were people celebrating, mostly weddings but also just the weekend, the balmy weather, the gloriously clean streets of Glendale, and all kinds of elegant and intriguing venues that characterize this gem of a city. I cannot understand what more anyone could expect. This is delicious food, lots of it, low prices, great service, gorgeous environment, and festive atmosphere. We are going to be back often!

Yelp
This review is solely based on drinks. Will update once I ever decide to come back to try the cuisine. Frida is located at the Americana in Glendale ON Brand Blvd. After having lunch at a nearby place my sister and I stumbled upon this place and it just so happened to be happy hour (3-6pm) As soon as we sat at the bar we were greeted by the bartender with menus, he soon after came around to serve us complimentary chips and salsa which we so broken-heartedly had to refuse due to being stuffed. The gesture was nice and we appreciated it tho. We started off with a round of drinks off the happy hour menu and tried some of their regular menu margarita's, like the "chamoyada" a blended mango margarita. Everything tasted great at a reasonable price. Will say, I hardly had reception in there. Idk if it's my service provider or what, but they don't offer wifi lol.

Yelp
The servers and bartenders are always so nice and friendly. The food comes out hot and super quickly. We always have an amazing experience whenever we dine here. Frida's is always busy, but that doesn't take away from the quality of anything!! I can see why everybody wants to eat here. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a fun place to eat in Glendale.

Yelp
There really isn't much to say about this place that is positive. When it first opened it was quite busy all the time. Lately o have noticed that even at peak times at the Americana where there is a wait everywhere else this place is empty. Stopped for a late afternoon lunch with my uncle and the menus were dirty. The place was hot. The service was okay. My uncles tacos were cold and he was skeptical about eating them then later got sick. Can't confirm for sure it was the food but it tracks. They even allowed a begger inside the restaurant asking people for money. This place definitely needs new ownership, management etc.

Yelp
Came here to kick off Thanksgiving and sat outside on their patio. The food was just ok but what really made the experience terrible was the hostess seating people with dogs next to us. I love dogs but my husband is allergic to certain breeds and with the tables being so close it would have been nice to be told upfront that there could possibly be people with dogs seated next to us. Literally the dog was shaking hair etc on our table. We could not finish our meal and left. Like smoking areas there should be areas for animals and pets.

Yelp
Ambiance of this place can't be beat always a vibe when you are here staff is always friendly and attentive. I got the tostada salad which was a basic salad with fresh ingredients but what made the salad special was the dressing. It was amazing I can't remember the name but I would go back just for that dressing. I think my husband got full on the chips and salsa they bring out in the beginning both sauces had such good flavor. My husband got the tortilla soup which he wasn't to impressed by it was different compared to others he's had. But he enjoyed his shrimp cocktail plate everything was fresh and flavorful. Definitely a spot to try.

Yelp
We visited this location on a Sunday afternoon and were seated in the patio area. Our server was attentive and friendly. The chips and both red and green salsa were as good as always. The standout, however, was the fresh and delicious guacamole . I had the chile relleno--a battered poblano pepper stuffed with cheese, served in their signature tomato sauce with a dollop of sour cream. It came with a side of rice and beans, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The frozen mango margarita with Tajin was refreshing and delightful.

Yelp
Gosh...from the outside, this restaurant looks so promising. The atmosphere and outdoor dining area was comfortable, the menu options were wide ranging, the drinks were big and looked pretty, but that's where the phrase "looks can be deceiving" come into play. Everything we ordered was pretty bad. From the free chips which were stale, to the ceviche, to the tacos, and the drinks which had like zero alcohol in them....it was bad. And then the prices on top of it, like I don't mind paying if the food is good but man, for LA, this was one of the worst in terms of Mexican food. And honestly, that's bad. Our server was nice. With all of the other options, we will not be going back.

Yelp
Pretty sweet place to kill time while the kids shop for clothes. Nice Happy Hour. Food is alright, but both of the house salsas were solid! Strong cocktails, so I'm told. Duane, the bartender, was super friendly and great service. Check the place out.

Yelp
I went here yesterday early evening for dinner with my family. The vibe was great. A really nice place, clean looking. The food was actually pretty good. I ordered the crab chille releno. The flavors were great. Service was good for the most part. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Even the gentleman who brought us our chips and salsa was great. My only complaint was the hostess who sat us. We had specifically asked her for a high chair and she even acknowledged it. Did we get it? Nope! Why acknowledge that you heard us to pretty much ignore our request. The server that brought us our chips and salsa was the one who eventually brought the high chair and even made sure to clean before we sat our son in it. Aside from that minor inconvenience from that hostess, we still enjoyed ourselves.

Yelp
Frida Mexican Cuisine is an authentic warm experience with great hosts, servers, bartenders, chefs, cooks, and staff of every kind! You enter from the corner of American Way / Brand Blvd and will find a stand to the right of the entrance where they will take you away to your experience after letting them know your party number, "Una mesa para tres personas, por favor!" Start off with a fresh bag of Frida Chips and salsa (good consistency though the red doesn't have as much flavor as the green w/ a spice kick - both still very enjoyable). You'll get a great server who's very knowledgeable about the menu and even anticipates some choices you might favor. I honed in on the vegetarian options as a lot of these can be made sin (without) dairy and some are even vegan-friendly by default such as the grilled veggie salad. Definitely ask your server as they will be even more knowledgeable than the menu with extra details and specifics for customizing your meal experience. I had tried the Veggie Tacos A La Carte (via happy hour once pre-2020), but the Vegetarianos (choice of Three dinner specials) taco plate was pure gold and super filling (hold the cotija)... con/with Corn Tortillas all day!! My friends did Pozole and Enchiladas and were very satisfied... large portions for ever dish! Just add beer or a margarita, which we did ;) Unfortunately, like most restaurants happy hour is only durante/during the weekdays, but Frida at the Americana has a great one if you're able to catch it from 3PM - 6PM - $8 Mojitos, Margaritas y botanas varios (and various snacks) plus $7 Sangria, Draught Beer and Well Drinks. Q Tips: With bowl dishes, it seems you can portion control - a lot of the fresh ingredients such as onions, lettuce, spices, etc are to the side of the bowl and you can add as you like. They do take reservations, but depending on the day/time and weather you'll most likely be able to get a nice table pretty fast if not instantly. They also have seating at the bar. I would love it if they had soy chorizo as an option for protein on their menu or one marked/titled signature purely vegan dish for us foodies still trying to foodie, but with restrictions. Regardless thank you Glendale Frida Restaurant for a good afternoon/early dinner/late lunch/Sunday Funday! Be back soon... Definitely sooner than 4 years lol. Salud!!
