Google
Pretty cool brewery on the east side. They have a good selection of beer in the taproom. They have a good ipa and a summer blood orange ipa which was great. They brew their beer there and have seating inside and out to hang out. There's a food truck in the parking lot selling burgers and different sandwiches and fries. They also share a deck with the Austin eastciders so you can try both places or it's nice with a big group. The only downside is that there's not a ton of shade in the late afternoon when the sun is starting to set. Definitely a fun place to hang out.

Jonathan Phillips

Google
Stopped here after visiting Austin Eastciders next door. Good variety of different brews. Really have something for everyone here. Nice atmosphere with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Food truck parked outside for some eats too!

James Rank

Google
Amazing beers and a great vibe. Family friendly, dog friendly, great location. I really liked the "Sportsball Pils" which is one of the most refreshing beers I've had in a long time. Also really liked Noisy Cricket IPA and Hilltopper Bock. Definitely come here when touring Austin breweries!

Kris Umlauf

Google
I popped in as I happened to be passing by. Tried the House of Orange and it was a refreshing and easy drinking ale, with a hint of tartness, perfect for Spring and Summer! The brewery itself is sleek looking and modern inside. The staff was friendly. Love their logo and nice pint glasses (a reasonable $3 when I visited).

Virginia Stockwell

Google
Enjoyable experience with pleasant and helpful staff, indoor and outdoor seating, cool vibe, really good beer. Has chicken tenders food truck out front.

Rob Flanigan

Google
Great IPAs! Nice place. Friendly staff. Stop by and drink you one!

Peter Z

Google
For starters they have beer, lawn games and a great staff. Their brews are delicious, though a bit high in the abv. So be prepared with a driver if you're settling in to experience their brews. Check out my pictures, you can see their operation which only makes me thirstier. They're also collocated with Austin East Ciders (great place also) which makes for a warm but jumping atmosphere. I recommend starting with a flight to get your bearings. Then dive on in.

Sebastian Cocchi

Google
Attached to Eastciders and rock climbing. Ample parking. Pet friendly inside and outside on patio. 8 beers to pick from. Flights and half pours available. Super friendly beertenders. TV inside. Offers beer for sale also. Wish they had more stouts and lagers but good light overall beers!

Tomas R.

Yelp
While I was on an adventure to explore the city on a solo journey, I came across Friends And Allies Brewing and decided "Why not treat myself to a quick beer?" Tucked towards the back of the building complex, FAB features some signature beers including a solid IPA. I really appreciated the open space and the ability to bring in outside food. TBH the friendly neighbors of Austin Eastciders makes it easy for everyone to enjoy a beer or cider.

Amanda M.

Yelp
Permanently closed :( A real loss to the ATX crew scene. Friendly staff, great beers, chill location with a chicken food truck on site (with vegan options). Hope they find a new home one day.

Raquel C.

Yelp
Chill place. The bartender was kind and definitely kept checking on us to make sure we didn't need anything. Plenty of games to play. Plenty of TVs so you can watch sports. Also dog friendly inside, which is nice because of this extreme heat. I would recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

Yelp
Brewery tour stop 1 during our day trip to Austin didn't disappoint. The place wasn't super busy which i very much appreciated. Aside from one large group, it was busy enough, but died down after about an hr or so. The beertender was super friendly as well. They have a cool food truck outside, which we didn't try but will keep in mind for our next visit. beer wise, i had the hilltopper bock, which was decent enough. Hubs IPA was a bit on the tastier side.

Haley Z.

Yelp
My favorite brew is the Fresh Coast which is an IPA. Another great brew is their Bat which is a Stout. They don't have a wide selection of beer choices and it's definitely more on the hoppy side but every beer they make is spot on in flavor. Great friendly service and their prices doesn't hurt the pocketbook! Even though inside is a bit small they have tables outside with relaxing views. There is frequently a food truck or 2 in the parking lot. Because they share the parking lot with other businesses next-door it can sometimes be difficult to park in the lot. The street parking nearby is an easy fix to that and only a short walk. This area could definitely benefit from a safer way to cross the street to street parking especially in the dark. I also love their adorable logo. One of the cutest and memorable brewery logos. We bought a pint glass we liked it so much. If you're not a big fan of beer they do offer a few other choices and are right next to an Austin Eastciders location.

Jeff Z.

Yelp
Come get it while you can, as this local gem is on the backend of business. It won't be here for much longer. There isn't a bad beer on the menu and bartender I wouldn't trust with all my children. Come by and enjoy while you can!

Edith G.

Yelp
Friends and Allies is next door to Austin Eastciders, which is really convenient if you have friends who don't drink beer, but will do cider. There are plenty of good, comfortable seating areas indoor and out.

Katie S.

Yelp
5 stars! The drinks were delicious and the area is super cool! It's right next to Austin East Ciders tap room and we had people from our group going back and forth, trying both places. Seating indoor and outdoor, so you can almost definitely find the perfect spot for your group. Would definitely recommend this location for a happy hour or special event! Bartenders were nice and super chill about people going back and forth between the two venues.

Frank C.

Yelp
Great local brewery. Nicely crafted and numerous creative offerings.

Ron M.

Yelp
Either stick to your no smoking or not. Signs up everywhere with no one enforcing it. The smoke even blew into the brewery. It was really gross. I asked a staff member and they admitted they don't enforce the "no smoking" signs . The smoke was exhausting and gross. Your patrons shouldn't have to snitch on other people for smoking. You should uphold your own signs

Sean M.

Yelp
We were caught in a rainstorm walking around the complex and were welcomed in from the weather by Ben the owner. He was gracious to invite us in and offer us a beer, while waiting for the rain to pass. We wished we had nicer weather to enjoy the porch seating and drink more GREAT BEER!

Jason S.

Yelp
(4.5 stars) Really awesome spot with some great beer, though it is a bit removed from the main areas and may not be worth trekking out just for it given the plethora of craft beer places in Austin. There is a cider place right next to it though so you can knock out two places in one trip. It really doesn't get much better then kicking back with a beer on their industrial porch with the sun overhead. They have roughly 10 beers on tap, and a flight of four costs $10. I went mainly with ipas and there wasn't a single one I disliked. My favorite was probably the fresh coast, but the urban chicken was also solid.

Kris U.

Yelp
I popped in as I happened to be passing by. Tried the House of Orange and it was a refreshing and easy drinking ale, with a hint of tartness, perfect for Spring and Summer! The brewery itself is sleek looking and modern inside. The staff was friendly. Love their logo and nice pint glasses (a reasonable $3 when I visited). They could use some more seating, and perhaps some benches outside somewhere in the shade preferably.

Taylor Z.

Yelp
Solid place to grab a cheeky lil beer. The interior is beautiful with lots of glass and really modern interior. Its got a really open feel to it. They also have an outdoor section with a food truck when its not too hot or cold outside. The beers themselves are pretty solid. I enjoyed some other breweries more but I`ll have to try more of the menu to really get a better feel of the place (its about the same pricing as other places, 5 - 6 dollars for a pint).

Jennifer M.

Yelp
This was a cool little brewery tucked away behind another brewery. It is a pretty small indoor area and a little larger outdoor patio area. They offer flights so that you can try several different of their beers at once. I just wish there was a little bit more of a selection. I am not a huge IPA fan and there wasn't much outside of an ipa. The staff was friendly and the place was pretty clean. This is a nice place to have a cold beer.

Leah W.

Yelp
Cute brewery with great beer at an amazing price. I loved the blood orange beer, plus they carry ice cream sandwiches so they get a 5/5 from me! Friends and Allies is a great brewery, I highly recommend for larger groups of people!

Geoffrey C.

Yelp
My friend and I moved over here as Austin Eastciders closed. It is much smaller and narrow, so seating can be difficult. This was especially because everyone had the same idea to come after Austin Eastciders closed. They had a great selection but I they ran out of the fruity/tart beers I wanted. Not a huge IPA person but it was still good. Hopefully they will have what I want next time.

Sabine F.

Yelp
Nice place to hang out and have a craft beer or two. I had the porter and it tasted very flavorful. My husband had the rosemary beer. He liked it. There is lots of seating, plus it is located next to the cider place. They have a good truck on site.

Donovan S.

Yelp
This place is a super cool venue and they make really good beer here and sell some really cool glassware for a good price. They have a great set up for live music and they have several food trucks out there plus the bread Company that they partner with. The prices are really good and everything was tasty and listening to the live music outside was awesome. I love this place and definitely want to go back I am glad we went out there!

Andrew Y.

Yelp
Friendly little bar with a nice selection of their own brews and merchandise. The inside layout is very linear, most likely just a front for what is really going on in the back, the brewing. Tried three of their beers on tap and only one stood out, unfortunately in a negative way. I would come in to try another beer if I happened to be around the area but not very likely to recommend to others.

Luci H.

Yelp
I enjoy this new addition to the 'hood. Friends and Allies is the closest brewery to my house and they are doing some good stuff. First off, the beer I tried was great. Light and perfect for summer -- if only I could remember the name.. At $5, it was in line with all the other breweries in the neighborhood. They also have a nice patio, with a lot of seating, where you can play board games, Jenga, or just sit and relax after a session at Austin Bouldering. We played a cute game that was like Cards Against Humanity, but like most games and breweries it's always more fun with company. Since there were only two of us, we were limited to the time we wanted to hang around. The only complaint that I have is that this is not a good place for non-drinkers. They were out of Topo Chico, which was odd, since they only had just opened. They also don't have any food options. An addition of a food truck would be well-received. The view is also a pitty. You can overlook the scenic parking lot, or a muddy swamp.. It might be more fun when Springdale Station is hosting an event for primo people watching. (ok, so one complaint turned into 3.. sue me)

Chris K.

Yelp
Found this place by accident and what a happy accident. The nicest guys opening and making the beer. Even shared their BBQ with us! - a trade of beer to the local BBQ joint...

Derek E.

Yelp
Hitting the ground running with 4 drinkable, session beers and a standard, but tasty American IPA,for an Austin Summer debut. I was able to taste each of the 5 beers, and I'd say that the House of Orange and Urban Chicken Saison were my favorites. House of Orange provides a nice, subtle tartness. It is Kettle Soured, but only slightly, and this offers a great compliment to the orange flavor. The Saison was light, but provide some nice fruity Belgian Yeastyness. The Fresh Coast IPA was pretty darn good, but didn't blow me away, while the Springdale Witbier was another solid choice for a hot day, or after a climb next door at Austin Bouldering Project. Now, for the Noisy Cricket Session IPA. If you have heard of Friends and Allies before, it's probably because you have had this beer somewhere around town over the last year or so (they have been brewing it out of 4th Tap's space until recently). For whatever reason, when I first had this beer, I was not a fan at all. I tend to remember too much bitterness for the lightness of a Session IPA. Having retried this, I'd have to say that either something changed, or I was way off! This beer is a nice sessionable brew, but with a great hop flavor, that isn't overpowering. I feel like these beers so far all kind of fit the profile of easy-drinking, widely loved styles (especially for Summer). I am really interested to see where FnA (effin' A, Cotton - this couldn't have been an accident, right..?), anwyays.. really excited to see what styles and other beers these folks come up with. Also, they have a huge space, and if things take off, will really be able to crank up production.

Tim F.

Yelp
Great spot. That's really all that needs to be said. But I'll keep going: beer is good -- drink it. TVs are on sports -- watch them. Space has some various sitting areas -- try them. Go make some friends or bring some allies

Mimi L.

Yelp
Love that this place opened up next to ABP! Perfect to come here to relax and enjoy a good beer after climbing. Outdoor seating with a roof always makes the beer experience 10x better. Well, of course, if Texas weather permits - luckily when I went it was sunny with a small breeze. It may have been a little too sunny but who am I to complain when you have as good as beer as Noisy Cricket in hand. It's a little citrusy, mostly piney and definitely delicious - they have it on tap! House of Orange also tasted great - a citrusy beer that perfectly complements the spring & summer. I did see some food options but it seems to be an irregular menu. I'm interested to see what food direction they'll and I'm just really glad this chill place opened up.

Casey M.

Yelp
Been here a few months back with my friend and her family. It was such a fun vibe! Great beer options and very knowledgeable staff to help you decide on something you really like. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and puppies are welcome outside! They have games you can play etc and a good atmosphere. A/C keeps you cool and at night the ambiance is relaxed and not super bright! If you're looking for a fun place to be with friends, this is definitely a spot to come by! Try it all out! Eastciders is also right next to it, so plenty of options for everyone!

Kasy S.

Yelp
We have been climbing at ABP for a year and a half. When I heard we were getting a brewery next door, I was over the moon. Add to that, one of the owners climbs at ABP. These guys burst on the scene with, what I humbly declare the quintessential session IPA: Noisy Cricket. They have created the gold standard for the style. No other session has the piney hop-burst at 4.7% ABV. Needless to say, I love that beer. Now I can get it fresh on tap. It is currently on the canning line and should be the first of their beer you see in stores. If you are a hop head, get this beer and thank me later. Their tap room is super modern and bright, huge windows and light wood make for a very welcoming space. Today they released a big, bold west-coast style IPA: Fresh Coast. It clocks in at 7.5% ABV and is bursting with delicious west coast hops. If you love IPAs, you will love this beer. For the less hop-minded beer-lover, they offer a fantastic saison that is 4.9% ABV. This guy is perfectly balanced and so refreshing. They also carry the Springdale White Ale which is a great representation of the style. I am in love with this tap room and their beer. I can't wait to see what they come out with next. Pints are $5. Parking is free but can be in high demand as it shares a lot with ABP. Pro-tip: you can pull in beside daily greens and drive around the back of the warehouse complex to find another parking lot around the corner from the tap room. Cheers!

Michelle T.

Yelp
This place finally opened!! I've been going to ABP for a couple months now and have seen this little brewery in the corner of the back parking lot under construction. When I pulled into the lot today, I noticed a sign in front with the words "open" sprawled across and I could feel all kinds of happy giggles forming. They only have two beers available on tap currently, a white ale (6%) and IPA (4.7%?). But do not fret, the worker told me two more will be available within 2 weeks, 4 more within the month, and a few non-alcoholic options for those who don't like beer (GASP! That hurt me a bit to type out). Definitely on the smaller size when it comes to breweries, but now all the climbers can enjoy a nice $5 pint of beer after their work out. Excited to try the rest of the beers trickling in!

Alysha M.

Yelp
Big fan of the service/friendliness of the staff/owners/brewers here :) their beers are more hoppy/sour/strong vibes whereas I'm more of a light/fruity/wheaty chick, but it's a great pit stop before you head next door to Eastciders. I think they could benefit from sprucing up the set up a bit :)

Sarah M.

Yelp
I would like to give a 4.5. The reason this place isn't a five is 1) it's new and only has two beers on tap so I can't tell you what the others taste like and 2) parking is sort of weird. It shares the lot with ABP right now and honestly, if you're not looking for this place, it's easy to miss. It's located towards the back of ABP's back lot. Hopefully this issue is addressed in the future. That being said, as a member at ABP I have been waiting on tender hooks for this place to open! The advantage Crux Climbing had over ABP (being near Monkey emporium winery) is now null and void. Beer after climbing and yoga? I say YES. This is a small place but I've already made friends with one of the bar tenders here. I expect to be a usual here so better make friends now, right? Currently I'm drinking their white ale, which is really really good. Yesterday I tasted their IPA which was also good, so that says it's on the lighter side for you IPA lovers out there. I'm excited for what's to come with this place so come check them out! PS. It looks like this place had wifi y'all. Good stuff.

Dunn F.

Yelp
Loved my time there! Just pull up at the bar and make a friend. It's that easy. Some breweries don't have that homey feel to it, like this one. And, of course, the bartenders know what they are doing as they explain beer options. I don't drink beer, it I explained what my likes and dislikes a were and Blair, the beer barista, made all my dreams come true. There are tables there, so you don't have to be a bar patron if you don't want to, but the bar is where the magic happens. I will be back to order something toasted and almondy.

Michael E.

Yelp
Really cool bar and very friendly staff. Lots of windows to make it light and lively. Lots of games to make it fun and entertaining. Austin Cider is also next door which makes it nice for any person that doesn't like or can't have beer to still enjoy in the fun. There is also a food truck outside (which I personally didn't see anything on the menu that I would enjoy...). There is not a huge selection of beer that they have (about 6 or so), but they aren't bad, and there are about 2 that I enjoy (I am an IPA lover). Definitely worth checking out this place if you like to relax, enjoy a drink, watch a sports game, play board games with friends, or just catch up.

Ravi V.

Yelp
Cool little spot! Heard good things about this place so wanted to check it out. Got about 8 beers on the board when I visited. Tried out a few, such as the Blood Sport Blood Orange Pale and Noisy Cricket Session IPA, but the Fresh Coast definitely hit the spot on a 90 degree day! Also love the name of the brewery

Paul K.

Yelp
Stopped in on the way to the airport. Got to try their white beer and IPA. Both were well made and solid offerings. A couple of downsides were that the bar was seriously understaffed with one poor girl running around by herself trying to serve and clean up in a very busy bar. The other was the inside of this place had all the appeal and charm of IKEA. I suppose they're aiming for an industrial look but it came across as sterile and cheap. No brewery vibe. I suppose the patio would be nicer but it was a sweaty afternoon and I got to experience the bland interior.

Michael L.

Yelp
Contacted Courtney off their website to set up a private event/presentation, out of the multiple breweries that we contacted Friends and Allies was definitely the best and easiest to communicate and coordinate with. Courtney not only responded to all of our questions, but even asked some of her own in order to better accommodate us. Truly amazing customer service in this industry and extremely professional staff. We will definitely be scheduling another event with them soon. Added Plus: Their beer is amazing!!!!

Chris H.

Yelp
First time here, great place. Gets a little busy in the weekends, but still great service.

Mandy M.

Yelp
Love this brewery! Unique brews with a beautiful, dog-friendly patio lined with a jasmine lattice. I could spend all afternoon here! The Memory Jog Belgian Ale was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Great place to hang out with friends or make new ones!

James S.

Yelp
This is part of East Austin's restoration and it is amazing. The beer is very good and the staff is very attentive. The place is full of pretty people it's is what you expect in revitalized East Austin.

Mark R.

Yelp
What an awesome Austin gem!! Great atmosphere and even better beer! No doubt new spot for the summer!

Brooks A.

Yelp
The bartender completely and actively snubbed me tonight. I don't want to say it was a was race thing but as a person of color I've never felt particularly welcomed here (Fun game, scroll all their pictures on Yelp and their website its like a person of color where's Waldo game). Too many times have I watched their bartenders (Never seen a non-white bartender) be super friendly to someone just to turn around and treat me like an inconvenience. Tonight I spent what felt like 5 minutes standing in line watching the bartender flirt with a gaggle of girls, as soon as he was done helping them (without even acknowledging my existence) walked around the bar and started checking on tables, chatting with customers and moving chairs around, after I saw him glance in my direction and continue moving chairs around I was done. Either he was being flat out discriminatory or he is the worst bartender in the world. The bar is not that big and is never crazy busy, there is no excuse a customer should stand at the counter for extended periods of time without even being acknowledged. *Update: 3.11.2021 I don't know if its related but their website looks like it has been temporarily taken down, however they at no point reached out to me.

Bryce C.

Yelp
Great beer lineup and knowledgeable staff. Their head brewer knows his stuff so I cant wait to see what type of seasonal beers they will come out with. Im not a climber, but with ABP right next door this could be a little slice of heaven for those who do....

Ryan M.

Yelp
Really cool location and atmosphere. I highly recommend going, especially if you have any friends that are avid rock climbers. It is a really cool experience going to the rock climbing gym next door for a good workout then heading over to Friends and Allies for a few drinks. The only downside to this place is that it is a bit small and not much seating. It also gets extremely packed on the weekends.

Zaz F.

Yelp
The staff and team here are wonderful. I contacted them to arrange a fundraiser (that we had to postpone, unfortunately) and they were very attentive and willing to work with our local non-profit.

Alexia Z.

Yelp
My husband and I liked this place the first time we met friends but the second time we brought our small Havanese dog inside and wasn't told anything until the bartender randomly came and told us we couldn't sit inside with a dog. Mind you, our dog was just sitting there not barking or anything. We found that so weird because dog treats were inside on the bar... not sure why you would offer dog treats INSIDE when dogs aren't allowed inside? It happened to be a super hot day so our entire group of friends went to sit on the patio section instead. Considering Austin (and Eastside Collaboratory directly next door) are usually dog friendly for these types of spots, I'm surprised this "hipster" spot didn't allow it.

Sharon P.

Yelp
Really great atmosphere. Dog friendly and kid friendly during the day. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the long wait. Only one server/bartender in the whole establishment on a Saturday afternoon. Great price for a flight. Pick up a pint glass for $3 while you are there!

Nicholas E.

Yelp
Treated me like family. Lonely bloke walking in on a Sunday morning. Those little thoughts count, you know.

David E.

Yelp
I just moved here and found this in a Google search trying to watch the Final Four somewhere. It's a brewery next to a cidery next to a rock climbing gym in the coolest part of Austin. They beer is great. The people are nice. There are food trucks. You can sit inside or outside. What's not to like?

Nick W.

Yelp
Unfriendly staff. Very judgmental. Beer isn't very good. Manager is an idiot. Better places out there.

Alan S.

Yelp
Sometimes can get a little too busy during certain business hours, but other than that - they offer great varieties of brew for the beer connoisseur
