First time eating at Fritai with friends. One friend arrived prior to myself and others and tried the seafood pasta. She mentioned it was bland surprisingly. I ordered the chicken wrap with plaintain chips and wings, while a friend ordered the fish of the day (trout). The chicken wrap was wonderful, but the plaintain chips were not something I would order again. The wings were fine and did lack seasoning. I sampled my friend's fish, which was good. It sat on this cake looking dish that tasted as bad as the texture. I still do not know what it was. My friend did not eat it. She enjoyed the rice and beans. The service was great. The staff was very enthusiastic and answered all of our questions. If you are seeking a unique eatery, Fritai is a place to visit. It did, however, lack seasoning in the food.

Stopped in on New Year's Day to try some Jou Mou soup... and glad we did. While not on the usual menu, from what I understand, it's a Haitian tradition to have this particular soup on New Year's Day as a celebration of the Haitian Revolution. My wife had the Griot plate and she was very pleased, while I definitely favored... and savored the soup. What a great place to get authentic Haitian cuisine!

The Haitian rice can be made vegan with tofu. It was so good! The plantains were crisp, the tofu had a nice finish, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the greens had great flavor. The portion size was great for dinner. So happy to have this option. It was one of the best meals I have had all week!

Awesome Haitian food!! Great environment, and great vibe in this place. Kudos to the owner and staff for providing this. We had the sos pwa with the smothered greens, legume and Akra. All delicious. Can't wait to go back!!!

This was the best Haitian food I have ever had. The meat was cooked very well and juicy. The rice we seasoned to the T. The side of mac and cheese was a great side to top off the whole dish. I also had the SB&O smoothie and I couldn't stop drinking it. I 10/10 would recommend 😊😊

Love the new location; great atmosphere and vibes. The staff is very attentive and work as a well-connected team. Chef is out of the kitchen often, delivering plates to tables, saying hi, ensuring a good experience, and refreshingly, helping the front-of-house team by clearing plates, pouring water, and lighting candles. The drink selection is extensive and exciting, offering so many intriguing options that I’ll have to return again (and again!) to try them all. The food was delicious—filled with love and heart. Thank you, Fritai team!

Their food is so delicious. I love the Fritai sandwich, the meat just melts in your mouth and the avocado aoli is so tasty! I've also had the stewed spinach with pork, which is very flavorful and delicious as well. I always recommend this place to my friends and it's always a treat when I get to visit.

I’m not from New Orleans but I am Haitian to say the least and we were really looking forward to some authentic Haitian cuisine and this place was not it! First, was the rice was not flavored at all. It lacked color and the sauce it came with was just as bland. The spicy mango chicken was fair. I would say it’s more spicy than flavorful, others in our group described it as have “chunks of meat with no sauce” You can’t order pikliz by themselves. 😧Wow. also, we wouldn’t know how it tasted since it was suppose to come with our main entree, but didn’t. Our order was delivered but it was also all wrong! Blame who want, but no body got all of what they wanted....to be fair we ordered near closing. I hope some other Haitians have a better experience.
