"Bird Road has a couple of Nicaraguan places, including this fritanga that serves one of the most generous portions of gallo pinto and carne asada you’ll find anywhere in Miami. For $13.50, you get four heaping scoops of rice, two slabs of steak, and a half-dozen maduros. The small takeout spot only has two chairs. If you claim one, you can watch the cooks grill juicy, smoky carne asada over open flames. The downside? The gallo pinto tastes like it was cooked in old oil and the maduros are dry. Still, this place will work in a pinch if you need something quick and filling after a long workday." - Virginia Otazo

Stopped in on a Sunday after seeing great reviews with my boyfriend for a quick lunch. First off, this place is a tiny hole in the wall located in the same shopping center as El Floridita so you do have to keep an eye out for it and sometimes fight for parking if its busy. Service was immediately friendly once we entered and I was surprised by the small line of people that moved pretty quickly. Once it was our turn we asked for a menu which they didn't have----they only offer a couple hot prepared dishes they have out like other fritanga places but way smaller in choices. This was no issue at all and what I believe makes the quality of their food phenomenal! My boyfriend got the carne asada that looked and smelled so good it was hard to pass up for only $9.50. I went with the stewed lengua that had incredible flavors including capers, carrots, tomato, and onion for $9.00. Our meals were huge and completely worth the price since they come with a large helping of your choice of rice, cabbage salad, and a massive amount of home made plantain chips. I will definitely be back again when in need for a to-go or quick meal since service was fast and the food was incredibly delicious! Definitely one of the best fritanga joints I've ever eaten at----don't let its appearance fool you! IG: @KFitzEats

Ordered Uber eats order and it wasn’t delivered properly. The lid was broken and soup spilled everywhere

Google
I ordeed the a Completa Carne Asada with Queso Frito & Gallo pinto. Delicious as always but what made it even better was the service and how she made the Carne Asada on the spot. Maybe it was just made fresh for me and that doesn’t happened to everyone, but really appreciate the effort. And mind you this is a pick up and go kind of a place, but nonetheless…. The best Fritanga I’ve had in a long time. Thank you for the great service.

Google
This is becoming our go to Fritanga we drive from Homestead to order. Food was outstanding and owner really takes time to ensure we are happy with the service and the food. Best Fritanga in Miami

Google
I would not be returning ever, I thought this was an authentic Nicaraguan Fritanga. When I come to Miami I must eat Fritanga but not from here sadly.

Google
Place used to be so much better, just went recently asked for 5 pieces of carne asada cost me 11$ and was absolute trash. Meat was dry and not much taste. Sad thing is the other fritangas are still good.

Yelp
Decent fritanga on Bird. Fresh & made to order. Servings are huge. One dish good for two. Don't forget the fried cheese for a special treat.

Yelp
The Fritanga chain stores offer the best bang for your buck take-home meal. This location is no different. It is a modern hole in the wall where they sell Nicaraguan good (that tastes like Cuban to me, since I'm Cuban) and the taste is great. My go-to meal is grilled chicken (with smokey onions and green pepper) as seen in my picture. I get the green plantain chips and their tasty rice. This is $7.25 and its a huge portion for two easily. I also get an additional chicken patty for $3.50 extra. Being so close to home makes this place a done deal. Coming back real soon!

Yelp
Horrible attitude I personally think there was personal problems thrown off to customers nothing is fresh just sitting there for hours and I literally got a stomach virus 15 minutes after

Yelp
I only had the nacatamales but they were delicious! And very filling. The lady was very nice and the place, although modest, was clean.

Yelp
Found this spot while I worked in the area. I was looking for a spot to eat lunch. It's located in a plaza across the sports bar. They do speak English and the food is right in front of you. Honestly, the food was delicious. Everything tasted great from top to finish. I had the chicken with rice and peas sweet plantains and fried cheese. Now, the cheese is a big portion so you will be full. Overall, it's a must try!!! In total I paid $12 for the meal and water.

Yelp
I can't tell you how good or bad the food is because I never received any service. The establishment is barely ten feet by ten feet, so I know they saw me, but they chose to assist the customers they knew by name who came in after me. If I sound bitter, I am; I really wanted fritanga food. There are plenty of other options across Miami-Dade.

Yelp
Good food and service was fast and easy. Would recommend it if you're looking for a quit bite.

Yelp
Ehh, it was just okay. We came in on Sunday at 3:15pm and they didnt have Carne Asada ready because they close at 4pm and the lady behind the counter said she doesn't like to over do it that late in the day. Okay, so i waited the 15 minutes and i was excited because it was going to be super fresh and "medium" like she said it was going to be. When i got home and tasted the meat, it had very little flavor and it was well done. The plantains were still raw and the mariquitas / tajadas were soggy. I was kinda disappointed, but i think i would give them one more try.

Yelp
The food wasn't ready when they post it was, The employee did not know nothing about my order, apparently they so not check the application

Rosa L.

Yelp
My husband ordered two orders of carne asada meals. When he got home, the meat looked weird and was so hard and rubbery that we couldn't eat it. Disgusting. Don't go.

Rick A.

Yelp
Just had dinner here. The Carne Asada is amazing. The owners were very nice and gave me a lot of Gallo Pinto. So much that I have now some for lunch tomorrow. That rice was awesome!!! I recommend the Fried Cheese with the Nica salad, it's to die for. I tried the Nicaragua traditional red Soda and it's like a Salsa sensation Red Bull.. Will be back soon to try the chicken casserole.

Yelp
LOVE this place! I feel like I'm at home, they have Univision on and everything!! The cacao was amazing and just like the Milka it was nice and cold. The food was really good and fresh this would be my third time here and every time I come it's a great experience, I definitely recommend it.

Melissa H.

Yelp
Decided to try it as I was in the area & it has great reviews. The meat was over cooked as well as the plantains. Won't be coming back here.

Marlene M.

Yelp
Great place for Latin food. Food is always fresh and it looks and taste so good. The staff is always friendly! T

Yelp
After reading some reviews, I decided to come here and I was not disappointed. The food was amazing and the service passed our 5 star expectations. There is so many places to eat on Bird Road, but if you are near by and hungry, come by and you will fall in love with their food. I hope to come again very soon to try out other things in their menu.

Yelp
If I could, I'd give this place no stars. I'm Nicaraguan and have visited MANY fritangas throughout Miami. This has to have been by far the WORST! When I saw the food on my kitchen island I was ecstatic. As I cut through my carne asada I was shocked to see that my meat was still alive! It was RAW! Aside from being raw it had zero flavor, the flavor it did have was horrid. Tasted exactly like it looked, blood! The salad that comes with it, while usually a little tangy, or spicy tasted like sugar cookies. I live down the street from this place and needed a quick bite. Next time I'll travel the extra 10 mins and either go to the Kendall one, or the one in fountain blue. It literally made me sick to my stomach! The only thing that was semi memorable were the tostones and maybe the gallo pinto.

Anna C.

Yelp
Great little hole in the way Fritanga. Super nice staff/owners. The carne asada and rice were perfectly cooked and the portions were huge. I totally over ate but enjoyed it all.

Bri S.

Yelp
I picked up food from here a few weeks back after going to the doctor and I was not happy. Didn't like the carne asada, Gallo pinto and salad. Just didn't taste that great. I'm used to eating nica food and this place didn't cut it.
