Not quite a pub feel, but the good was great and the staff was super chill and friendly. The owner hung out with us for a bit too! Food selection is all over the place, but was very happy with my Cobb salad and my buddy really enjoyed the pho. Definitely not the average food for a pub...a notch better. The only bad is drinks were pricey and not great, and not quite a pub feel. Still would come back.

Drinks are great, bartenders are super nice too. This is an awesome place to get pho or a burger AND a beer! What’s not to love? I ate the chicken wings which were quite tasty. I would recommend this place without hesitation

I normally do not take the time to leave reviews, however, my visit to Froggy Bottom Pub was fantastic, the food was tasty, hot and fresh. The service was beyond spectacular. Our waiter, John was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He was very attentive and kept the refills coming. We came in during the dinner rush with a party of 20+ and he managed to remember what everyone was drinking, despite having a full dining room. We will be sure to come back during the nights he is working!

What a great find! I wanted some Vietnamese food and the wife and kids wanted pub food. That was exactly what we got. The pizza smelled amazing as well but that it for another visit. 5* for great service and great food. We will be back!

I am only going to talk about their chicken wings. So crunchy, and moist, and delicious! You can get them buffalo style or with sauces, but they don't need them really. Good chicken, good breading, well fried. Get them.while they're hot!

We came here during a quick visit to DC on a Saturday afternoon. The pub food I ordered (Fish & chips) was very nice. Proper fish pieces were hand-battered and fried crisp. One of my kids had the PHÒ and it was unexpectedly wonderful. Simple noodles and meat but the broth were exceptionally good. Moses was the gentleman who served our food. I say he was also a 5-star server, quick, witty and nice. I would definitely like to come back when we are around.

At first I was disappointed because it’s a new location- but it’s been a decade since I visited the old place. And Miracle the bartender changed my mind - excellent and friendly bartender! And also maybe the happy hour beverages. But seriously - burgers are great and it’s totally worth a visit if you are in town.

It was one of those early weekday evenings where the city seemed to have slowed down, and my daughter and I found ourselves wandering through downtown DC, looking for a cozy spot to grab a bite. We stumbled upon this little gem, tucked away but inviting with its warm glow and outdoor seating. We were seated promptly, choosing a small table near the front window, where we could still feel the city's pulse but enjoy the calm. We decided to start with a couple of appetizers. The veggie rolls came out first, crispy and fresh, with a light dipping sauce that added the perfect tang. Then came the wild chili poppers, and let me tell you, they were golden and perfectly crunchy on the outside. But the cheese inside--oozing and molten hot--took us by surprise! There was that split second where you savor the taste, and then bam! Heat, but so worth it. As for the mains, my daughter went for the Banh Mi, while I chose the Reuben sandwich. Her sandwich arrived stacked with fresh veggies and tender meat, all packed into a soft yet crunchy baguette. She loved every bite. Meanwhile, my Reuben was exactly what I needed--classic, hearty, with the corned beef practically melting in my mouth. We shared a few bites, exchanging smiles over how good everything was. Alex, our server, was a delight from start to finish. We were indecisive at first, but he was so patient, offering suggestions and making sure we had everything we needed. It felt like we were regulars, even though it was our first visit. The vibe was just right--not too crowded, with a relaxed ambiance that made it easy to settle in and enjoy our meal. It was around evening, and being a weekday, it wasn't bustling, just a few other tables filled with folks quietly chatting or enjoying their meals. As we left, satisfied and already planning our next visit, I couldn't help but think how perfect it was for a casual evening out in the city. It's definitely a spot I'd recommend if you're in DC and looking for good food, great service, and a comfortable vibe. Later that night, after such a satisfying meal, I wanted to keep that relaxed feeling going. At home, I reached for my favorite from PullUpDC--Super Lemon Haze. It's the perfect way to wind down after a great night out, with just the right buzz to match the mellow mood. If you haven't tried their strains, you're missing out--they always come through with the best for a chilled night in!

We were looking for a spot to eat after a long day around DC and a Nationals Game and we were in the mood for Pho and stumbled upon this place which was a short 10 min walk from our hotel. Location was easy to find and the place was very clean and well maintained. Service is something that needs to be addressed as we were waiting about 5 mins to be seated even though the place wasn't packed and many tables were open. The bartender and the owner was the only ones doing everything so o think if there was another person hired then it would be better and faster service. The rooms on the other hand was excellent and reasonably priced. I was there with a friend and we both got the Pho Froggy which was very flavorful and the broth was really good too. Portion size was great as well. Going back to the service part again we waited for a long time to get the bill so we could be on our way. We'd definitely be back next time we're in town but honestly the service is something that needs to be addressed because everything else was up to par.

Service could greatly improve. Much like the rest of these comments, I found the older woman in particular to be HORRIBLE and rude. DO NOT EAT HERE. There are much better places nearby.

We started out with splitting two appetizers, the veggie roll & the wild Chili popper. I love how crispy the poppers were but be careful that cheese is really hot inside. My daughter had the Banh Mi and I had a Reuben sandwich, we both enjoyed our food and the service. We were taken care of by Alex who was so patient with us! There is seating both inside & out front, not too many people but it was a week day around 5:46PM. It's a definite go to if you're in the DC area!

The food is was fresh but not all that tasty it's def a place you go to in a rush for a quick bite tho.

Nice spot with not a lot of frills. Staff is friendly and food was good. Mix of American pub food and Vietnamese plates. Walking distance to Metro and hotels so a good option for when visiting DC. Family friendly. Clean bathrooms etc. Not crowded or noisy.

Outstanding service!! Edward was TOP NOTCH. He was attentive, personable and so awesome with us. We loved the drinks he made us. We got Poutine and the jalapeño poppers. Delicious! Highly recommend and make sure you sit at the bar with Edward.

I came here for a happy hour on a weeknight. It was pretty busy inside but it was easy to get a table. The service was little slow. I ordered the Froggy Bottom Amber ale. It was only $5 but it was pretty flat. I was going to say something but I didn't want to make a fuss, and I didn't want to be waiting again for just a beer. This is a convenient place for a happy hour. And the environment is spacious and not too loud. Overall it was a fine experience.

Pho was good. Pizza was eh. Service is great. Ambiance is casual-- good to go with friends, especially since the tequila shot prices are reasonable.

Ok on the 4 dollar scale this is a 2 dollar sign location. The food is really more of a basic one dollar food, the location and ambiance is nice enough. The service was friendly and fast. The deep fryer wings were barely basic. The wild poppers are from a bag the same you can get from Sonic for $4. The nachos were fully loaded not a single chip without the goods on it! But the ingredients were again basic but good! The cost of this meal in downtown DC was Very reasonable, for a good cheep basic meal, I'd do it again!

Good spot for a casual drink and bite. The pho is solid and there's something on the menu for everyone. The outdoor seating doesn't have the best ambiance, but inside is great. Not too many local draft beers on tap, but overall good selection. Our server was nice and happy to answer any questions we had. If I was in the area, I'd consider coming back for happy hour!

Came here for late night drinks one week night; it was kinda dead but randomly larger groups would come into the bar. The draft beers are cheap! Half of the price of the fancier bar a block away. The bartender was pretty chill and checked in every once in awhile. I will definitely be back and I'm interested to try the food sometime.

Came across this place because we are looking for "Pho near Dupont Circle" and this came out. I have passed this pub so many times but by the look of it just never thought it sells Vietnamese food! The chicken banh mi was good. The Pho Tai's (beef pho) broth was good as well - noodle was a bit overcooked. Perhaps next time I'll ask to make it more al dente. Just personal preference. The draft amber was solid. We came close to 9PM on a Wednesday, there were only two servers & around 20 patrons (limited menu as well). Given the ratio, service was tolerable. The ambience is actually nice: air-conditioned & clean. The price is quite affordable for downtown. If you are a tourist or in DC on a business trip or a local who is craving late-night pho and beer, I highly recommend this place & looking forward to trying other food. Five stars for being a pub with diverse and good food. Kudos!

So I go back to eating at the "Frog" to 1997 when it was located on Pennsylvania Avenue. When in DC recently, I popped back in to find the same owners as way back when and food as great as ever. First, we got the wings and mozzarella sticks. The wings have always been a favorite of mine and unlike most places, no changes of note on this great recipe/food. The mozz sticks were as solid as before though the sauce has gotten better than I remember. The thing that kicked this up another notch is the amazing Bahn Mi! My prior times here never included native food from the owners home country. Now, these new additions really hit the spot. A great sandwich with fries that are the right point between crispy and burned, this dish was a big hit for both me and the wife. I will say I do miss the old place ambiance some as I had so many college nights at the Frog, but the new place is clean and somewhat septic, more fitting for a more adult ambiance rather than the old college dive bar type setting the prior location had.

A classic Irish pub with the perfect 2-part Guinness pour to prove it. The food could have been better, but the happy hour deals cannot. $4 beers (I think they may have raised this recently), and I was surprised to see Yuengling in that list. Normally You only see Bud/Miller Light at that price point. Overall, definitely a place to check out if you want a good guinness or a cheap beer.

Great atmosphere and great food I ate at the bar and was well tended to and the bartender was super helpful when trying to decide on what to get to eat.

I stopped by this cute little Pub for late night eats, especially since they had Pho available after 10pm. Froggy Bottom Pub was working off a minimal menu until 11pm and closing at 12 midnight. The bar tender was friendly and professional. My food came out quick and was delicious! I must come back during regular business hours for the full experience. Thank you Froggy Bottom Pub!

Cute little place. Service was good and prompt. Got the chili nachos which were good. They like to play music closer to the end of the night which was fun. The owners seemed sweet.

Stopped in for lunch on a whim and boy am I glad we did. We were greeted by a wonderful, pleasant hostess and seated promptly. Our server showed up a few minutes later and we started with a delightful ice cold cider. I ordered a Vietnamese noodle dish with grilled pork belly and a crispy spring roll. It was delicious. The spring roll was absolutely wonderful. I could make a meal of just those! The dressing/sauce that came with the dish was sweet and spicy and perfect. My husband's burger was very nicely done, as well. I would definitely go back and it would be a tough choice between the bar food and the Vietnamese offerings. I found the pub to be clean and comfortable and have no complaints about anything. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed the place, but I cannot go for stars. We had the garden rolls, and the pho, which was very good. The service was good, but I did not like that she did not wear restaurant clothing, not even a apron, I think that's inappropriate. In all honesty, it did go with the Decour of the place, which is four walls, an open ceiling and an ugly floor. Meaning , this place is totally lacking of any interior design. I would not go back.

Came in for the first time with a few friends (all well over 21). The woman working took my eldest friend's license, claimed it was fake, and threatened to call the police on us. She did not give the ID back until we began to call them ourselves for her withholding the license. Do not come here.

What a great find! I had 3 hours to kill while my wife was having a medical procedure next door so ambled in to have a cold beer or 2. A very casual, warm, and welcoming atmosphere! Didn't take long to make friends with the excellent bartender Sebastian, owner Hien, and a few other patrons. The beers were cold and the fresh veggie rolls absolutely delicious. I love that they have both regular bar fare & some Vietnamese specialties too. I highly recommend the Froggy Bottom Pub & look forward to coming back again soon!

Well, I was a little skeptical, but the Pho here is really, really outstanding, tasty, and authentic. I still haven't tried any of the American dishes, but every one of the Vietnamese plates is really outstanding. It's a regular stop for me now, on the way home from work.

This feels like a casual neighborhood bar, which is a great way to differentiate the place from the dressier establishments or from the chains nearby. The pho is popular here and came out fast. I had the Froggy Pho, the house beef pho that consists of more than one kind of meats. The brisket was okay (it was already cooked through and consequently a bit less flavorful when I received it - I probably should have asked for it to be brought out less cooked) but the meatballs were excellent! I was surprised there was no cilantro, but did get the sprouts, lemon, Thai basil, and sauces to dress up the pho to my liking. The broth was good as well. I plan on coming back to try the bun thit nuong.

This place is the best! It is run by the sassiest Vietnamese woman and her husband, so in addition to pub food you can also get some top notch pho. Easy atmosphere, good food, fun owners.

The food is good, but the service is among the worst I have ever encountered. I waited over an hour to get my check after food was brought out. Wait staff never asked my party if we needed another drink or anything else after bringing food. I know the service industry still hasn't fully recovered from the pandemic, but the place wasn't very busy and wait staff walked by my table a dozen times without asking if I needed anything.

Great pub food but the Vietnamese dishes are outstanding. Don't let the name fool you.

Pro: Great portion size, tasty offerings, and nice outdoor seating. On the con side: service was slow, the spring rolls were uninspiring and sauce-lacking, and the salad came with a different dressing than I'd ordered. I think our waiter may've just been new at his job. He was pleasant and courteous, it's just that everything (including getting the check) took awhile. Still a helpful option on K Street. I will return and try the Vietnamese offerings next time!

I wanted pho and my mom wanted a place to watch an Auburn game so Froggy Bottom Pub was the perfect location. We sat at the bar which had perfect view of the tvs. We both ordered pho. The broth was great and we had the usual accoutrements sprouts, hoisin, etc. as many pho shops do, the serving size was massive! The restaurant wasn't too crowded and we sat at the bar, so the bartender was attentive and the food was quickly served.

A very eclectic selection of pho and bar food. Delicious, though the proprietor chided me when I asked for mint instead of basil in my pho (which we thought was hilarious).

Gluten free review: We got takeout pho from Froggy Bottom tonight, which might not seem like the most intuitive choice. It's pretty good, and I like that I don't always have to go in VA for my favorite Pho spot.

This is probably because I ordered to-go instead of dine in, but my pho was less than decent. The noodles were already sticking together to the point where it became one big, overcooked rice mass that did not even make it into my broth without breaking. I could not recognize it being noodles at all. In addition, the broth also lacked flavor. I definitely expected too much for pho from a pub.

Stopped in here for a late lunch. This is a great little spot that has a little of everything. A touch of Vietnamese options thanks to the owners and all the typical pub fare/sandwiches and even pizzas. I went different and ordered the Mexican Pizza. It was great loaded with their beef chili, onion, olive, jalapeño, tomatoes and lettuce over a just right Neapolitan style crust. Served with a small side of sour cream, it hit the spot, and the medium 12" is perfect to fill you up and have 1/2 for leftovers. Friendly service and good food, it's a win-win.

My friend was in the mood for a bowl of noodle soup, and I mostly wanted a beer. Froggy Bottom fit our bill. What I ate: - Crispy Spring Rolls: I typically know these as summer rolls. For $5 you get 2. They came out hot, fresh, crispy. Nothing to complain about flavor wise - Pork Bahnmi: This wasn't tooooo bad. The baguette didn't have that super flaky hard crust that I'm used to, but really no complaints. The pork was tender and flavored well. Typical veggies and herbs inside. I was able to finish this - Chili Cheese Fries: This was stick to your ribs fries. Were they the best I've ever had? Probably not, but they were tasty and went well with my beers Pros: - FULL bar, decent selection of beer on tap - Really interesting menu. Full of typical bar fare - burgers, fries, wings, etc, with an entire section for pho and a few other Vietnamese items - There was patio seating on the sidewalk, but the tables were not laid out and all tied up. - Clean bathroom - Servers were attentive enough. The owner also stopped by the table - My friend has a particular pho order, and they were able to accomodate her wishes, which was appreciated. Cons: - Was is the BEST pho in the world? Not at all. Don't expect to come get an authentic bowl. But if you're having a craving and are nearby, this place will do in a pinch - Our server, as nice as he was, he had absolutely no clue to what he was doing. He had to check for everything. Even when I ordered the bahn mi, he paused and said, I duno if we have bread. What? How does he not already know? And then I asked about a particular beer, and he had to go check that. This is not to say that he didn't do his due diligence and try or work hard, it's just kind of a turn off when your server knows as much as you do about the menu and what is being served that day. Would I come again? Probalby not since I'm not a local

Superb crispy spring rolls at a place called Froggy Bottom?! I was quite surprised. But their crispy spring rolls are right in there. I'll come back here just for them. Ordered the Froggy Pho (beef) and it was decent. The broth is perhaps not as full bodied as some, but it's made with fresh ingredients. Service for take-away was prompt. I was walking by the spot after a meeting downtown, so exhausted from dealing with the challenges of living in the time of Covid-19. I needed a break from cooking dinner. There was Froggy, staring me in the face. So...it got the nod, especially when I saw crispy spring rolls on the menu. Ribbit, ribbit, Froggy.

Was immediately greeted by the owner on entrance. Ordered a spring roll appetizer which was delicious, baked potato perfectly baked and enormous Cobb salad with very fresh ingredients. Beautiful presentation. My friend enjoyed her fish fry and artichoke dip. Everything was delicious. Our waiter was a young man probably a son or relative of the owner. He was very nice and attentive. We went here on our last day in DC. Had I found it earlier we would have patronized it more than once. The atmosphere is more like a pub and not fancy. The benches on the booths have seen significant use and wear but it was clean and as long as the food is good I don't need "frills" in a restaurant that has "pub" in its title.

Stopped in for a late lunch here after a long morning at the museums. It was an off meal time so the place was empty and we were immediately seated. My party chose to eat here due to the good ratings and menu variety. I got the chicken bahn mi while my boyfriend had pho and we shared the cobb salad. The sandwich was very tasty and topped off with sriracha mayo which added a nice spice. The salad was your basic Cobb you could get anywhere. My boyfriend enjoyed the pho. Will be a returning customer if I'm in the area again.

Food is fantastic and the service is even better. The lady who runs the restaurant (and I think probably owns it) is so funny and welcoming. I have a feeling she runs a tight ship but is relaxed with her customers. I want to be her when I grow up.

I decided to try Froggy Bottom Pub after several folx recommended it to me. It's also a womxn and AAPI owned business, which is a major plus for me. I recently went for a late dinner and ordered off the Late Night Menu, which features select items from the regular menu. I had an iced tea, Buffalo Wings, and Phở Froggy. My rating is a result of mixed reviews of the food and customer service. The Phở Froggy is very nice. Every Vietnamese spot has their own recipe for Phở and this one's tasty, seasoned well, and satisfying. The noodles were slightly overcooked, but the meat was tender and the veggie accompaniments were fresh, though I would have liked some basil. The Phở Froggy comes with rare flank steak, well-done brisket, and beef meatballs. The chicken wings were mediocre. Honestly, they tasted similar to breaded frozen wings (e.g. Tyson's Buffalo Hot Wings) versus ones prepared in-house. Also, the Buffalo sauce was very vinegary and couldn't have you used more butter to cut the sharpness. As for the customer service experience, the bartender and the other serving staff were really nice, helpful, and attentive. They were patient with me when I had questions about menu items. When I received my bill, however, I noticed the items I ordered were more expensive than what's listed on the menu. My chicken wings came to $12.65 (menu lists them as $11) and my Phở came to $14 (menu lists it as $13). I asked to speak to the manager and the owner came over and explained that wings are $1 more when sauced (versus dry) and a $0.65 charge is assessed for bleu cheese dressing. Also, I ordered the beef Phở off the Late Night Menu and when the staff asked me which meat I wanted, they offered a combo of all three meats, but didn't mention it was a $1 more. I have no problem with up-charges, however NONE OF THESE are reflected on the menu. The owner explained that they are listed on the full menu (the Phở Froggy is, but the wings and bleu cheese are NOT) and also prices needed to go up because of rising supply chain costs. I let them know I understood the need to adjust for rising costs, however the menu should be updated to reflect those changes. The owner acknowledged my remarks and informed me that they are in the process of updating their menus, as the current ones are 8 years old. The owner did adjust my bill to reflect the prices on the menu.

Worst treatment towards customers I've ever seen. We walked in and she told us they were closed, but then the Bartender told us that they were open for another two hours so we were invited to stay. She then refused service to us because we were not carrying our student IDs even though all of us are 21+. Continued to yell at us for not providing multiple forms of ID outside of our IDs and credit cards. I told her that we would leave and she waved us away. Disgusting treatment towards customers, would not recommend going here. Would give them zero stars if it was an option.

I've been going to this restaurant over 15-20 years, always pleasant great food but today was awful. Greeting bad owner acted like she didn't know me. Service was awful. I ordered Pho chicken soup, less chicken and it was shredded. The waiter never came back and to check on and when I asked for a container to take home, she didn't even offer to put it in a container and I wasted everything trying to put it in the container.

Super cute place on K St. Full bar with a full selection of spirits and a good line up of beer on tap. Their house amber is clean as hell. Whiskey on point. They carry Red Breast 12 so it's a win for me. I got the crispy spring rolls with house sauce and the pho tai. They held the cilantro for me (the devil's herb) and the pho broth is one of the best I've had in DC. These are without a doubt the best crispy spring rolls I've ever had. But even better than all that... the service. Bartender was fantastic and friendly, and the owner came out and was chatting with folks. 5 of 5. I'm getting physical therapy in this area so I will definitely be back.

Looking for a late-night place on a Thursday. This place fit the bill. Wonderful staff. Simple atmosphere. Food was pub food--solid, but didn't particularly impress me. That's fine. I just wanted a late night with friends and this place made that happen wonderfully.
