From Here On Food Hall

Food hall with wide array of choices - from street tacos to NYC-style pizza (yes, even Chicagoans need their fix once in a while). Tacos were especially delicious, made from scratch right in front of you with a ton of flavor. Large slice of pizza was delish too but also uber expensive ($7!?) and served by unenthusiastic, unfriendly employees. Overall, a well laid out food court with something for everyone in the stunningly renovated Old Post Office.

Surprisingly, there wasn't any obvious signage on the outside or upon entering the building that there was a food hall or where it was located. However entering from the north and proceeding down the large center you quickly come to the vendors. I had a delicious sun butter berry smoothie from Fare and a very tasty bowl from Babygold BBQ. I ordered cauliflower over beans and rice, with a side of Mac and cheese and pickled vegetables, and had two kinds of BBQ sauce drizxled over the entire thing. Seems to be plenty of dining choices for a variety of different tastes, moods, or dietary restrictions.

If you’re taking the Amtrak, stop here first! Great food choices, clean restrooms, cool environment, no crowds, and a nice Walgreens. (Union Station is disgusting)

Be aware that the restaurants themselves close at 3 PM. The bar remains open until 8:00 but only offer burgers and fries.

Elegant building interior and a nice array of food choices. Menu ranges from breakfast/brunch to lunch, dinner and cocktails.

This is an authentic Mexican restaurant. It's located inside the Old Post Office, walk right on in. The only downside here is the expensive cost. The food was excellent, and if it's a good day, fancy eating outside.

I went to FARE today and ordered a green smoothie and it had glass in it. They only offered me to make another one but I demanded a refund instead. This is UNACCEPTABLE! I was so shocked and didn’t take a picture of it but I showed the employee.

Almost every single time I try to give this coffee spot the benefit of doubt, it never ceases to disappoint. It always tastes like weak coffee. I always ask for quad and it never tastes like a quad. It tastes like whatever chocolate syrup they have. And don't get me started on the price and then I'm prompted by a tip. The people are nice, at least a couple of the guys are. The presentation is nice, but that's all they got.

The food here is not bad. Just very pricy...I guess that's the cost of being in the OPO. Quality- the tacos are pretty good and so is the bbq place compared to the other options here. It tastes fresh and is made quickly. The fries from the Indian place is very oily but the dishes are good. Drinks here are unique and the seasonal cocktails are nice. Zaytunes and paper plane pizza really lack in quality. The pizza is paper thin and falafel tastes old. Quantity- I avoid eating here if I can. It's not good for the wallet. I have a 5 dollar coupon I use up everyday. Atmosphere- very nice place to eat and chill. Rooftop is great. Service- sometimes orders can take a while so you gotta order early.

New Food Hall in the gorgeous new lobby of the Old Post Office. The gold and glitter of the lobby is around you although the actual seating area in the food court is a bit plain. Aimed at the business lunch crowd, but there's a bar so not a bad place to stop for a drink either. They got a good initial line-up of food vendors--diner burger, fried chicken sandwiches, salads with protein, pho, a bakery, and italian deli. The last spot is Tempesta--and it's the only name I recognized in here--well known for expensive but amazing sandwiches. But I had the fried chicken sandwich from a new place I tried called Hot Chi Chicken: absolutely bomb. Top tier. There is free wifi from the Old Post Office guest network and there is some limited seating outside - but only about 10 tables. The original plan was that this expanded to include some riverfront, which is neglected at this spot, so I hope that does eventually happen.

Okay, dining hall with restricted options. The meals are acceptable, but for the costs, one would anticipate larger portions and greater variety. While working remotely right across the street, I visit a few times each week, but only when I can manage to.

Chicago's newest food hall inside of the old post office. Think some more restaurants will eventually open. Went with some coffee, banana brownie. Brownie was scrumptious. Coffee was just alright. As I finished those and read a book hall filled up with mostly office workers. Got some tacos. The tacos were mid. Ate them on the back patio. The view made it worthwhile. Used the restroom and was impressed with the attention to detail. The building has good bones.

Nice food court in the Old Post Office. I'm not sure if it's totally full yet with restaurants, but a good selection now. I've tried only one spot officially but have passed through a few times and it looks busy but not overwhelming. Good selection of restaurants and friendly staff. More to come after future visits, but so far, seems like a great spot.
