The Best Mexican Food to be Found on St. Paul’s Payne Avenue - Eater Twin Cities

"Another stall nestled in the food court of Plaza del Sol, Fruti Landia does time-intensive fruit bouquets, ice cream, and fruit drinks with zippy mixes of savory, sweet, sour, and spicy. If the menu is daunting, go by pictures online. Try the Piña Loca (pineapple) or Sandía Loca (watermelon), a monster fruit sculpture of whatever seasonal fruit is available topped with chili powder and pickled fruit sauce. A quicker order is the Mangonada, a chunky smoothie made with tangy chamoy sauce, mangos, lime juice, and chili powder decorated with a tamarind straw." - Eater Staff

Fruti Landia is such a hidden gem that serves up some really awesome tasty treats. They have a wide variety of various different types of sweet treats, and some non sweet treats as well. They have ice cream based treats, and fruity types of treats. I had one with ice cream, whipped cream, strawberries, granola, and nuts. It was absolutely delicious! I also had a Mexican soda as well and it was great. The lady working was super friendly and explained the menu to me. I highly recommend checking it out.

I had an amazing experience here! The mango smoothie with chili and chamoy was delicious—sweet, tangy, and spicy in the perfect balance. The fresh mango chunks on top were a nice touch. The strawberries and cream dessert was so refreshing and creamy, with generous strawberry slices and whipped cream on top. Both drinks were beautifully presented, and the flavors were spot on. Definitely a place I’ll visit again!

Do NOT sleep on this place. This cute little shop is placed inside of a lobby with another Hispanic foods place next to it, a jewelry store, and a barber shop. I’m amazed by the food, and the friendliness of the workers there. The mangonada has actual chunks of mango, and is super refreshing. The esquite is the best in town! Go now if you can! EDIT: this store had closed down and reopened in west Saint Paul since I wrote this review! Please keep this in mind, thanks!

I give it 2 stars because it's clean and I haven't tried anything else on the menu . I had a craving for "esquite" but I couldn't even finish it because it tasted just like the canned corn. If I wanted canned corn I would have gone into aldi for a can and saved me the time and money.

I specifically got the mangonada for $5 and it is amazing! You can tell they use real mangoes (theres even chunks of mangos) and the tamarind stick is delicious. Out of all the mangonadas I've had this is the best hands down.
