Fuel Healthy Kitchen - Review - Northeast Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"FUEL has expanded into the Northeast after opening a few shops in Center City, South Philly, and University City. The menu here includes salads, rice bowls, smoothies and juices, and a few sandwiches like their spicy Thai or black bean burger. It’s a great place to go when you want a light wrap to eat or before heading to take on the Broad Street Run, and they’re open Monday-Friday from 11am-8pm." - Candis R. McLean

Our first stop at this newly opened take-out restaurant, we had a very friendly welcome from Rocco. The place is small, clean and ready for those who want a quick stop but also looking for a healthy alternative to fast food. We happened to be there during happy hour- any size smoothie is $5 (at time of writing). Well worth coming back for the ‘happy hour’! The Avocado smoothie is delicious, kids chose the chocolate strawberry smoothie. It too was good but the ‘winner’ was the Avocado smoothie with pineapple. We also ordered the protein peanut butter/banana smoothie which is my 2nd favorite. Everything was fresh and flavorful. There are 2 kiosk to order from. If you order from the App or online, your items are conveniently stored in a cubby for ‘grab n go’ pickup so theres no wait. We had a vegan version of the greek salad. ( substituted Diaya vegan cheese for feta and the greek dressing switched with an Asian dressing made it very comparable and delicious). We also ordered waffle sweet potato fries and a pesto pita sandwich that was very good. The App also allows for other substitutions/add ons not seem on the menu. All in all, We had 4 large 24oz Smoothies. pita sandwich/ side salad, a lg Greek salad and waffle fries for just under $50 before taxes. (3/2022) A great deal.

Very tasty Cobb salad, finally a place I can get bacon on my salad because it’s not pork! They offer Turkey bacon which is a healthier alternative to pork. I added chicken which was $3.35 (alil pricey), but when I arrived for pick up I was greeted and asked for a name for my order which I was very pleased with. Clean new establishment, definitely will be returning.

Me an Daughter in law was just in there. We both are 💯 % vegan. We ordered 2 jerk mushroom pitaDia. 2 sweet potatoe fries. 1 mango lime. 1 Green Machine. It was $45 I was treating her for Dinner. We was on a 4 hr. hike an was so hungry. The 2 men were very nice. We leave an open the boxes. The sweet potatoes were mushy like mash potatoes an the mushrooms didn't taste like mushrooms. We love mushrooms. The sauce was hot an sweet nothing like jerk sauce. We both said omg! This is trash! We both was upset. The green machine was nasty. I make mine at home all the time. I really was upset I wasted $45 an I couldn't go back cause she was driving an had to get back to get my granddaughter. We work together at her family restaurant. We know how to cook. I want my money back.

Not really impressed. I ordered a Pesto Pita Dia at 11:30...got a text online saying it wouldn't be ready until 12:30 for pickup. I know it's busy at lunchtime but my lunch break is an hour, and this sandwich isn't that complicated. Then when I got the text saying it was ready (at 12:35), it was cold and the cheese was barely melted even though this is supposed to be a grilled pita. That being said, the workers were nice and the (cold) pita was still tasty. So two stars.

FUEL is the perfect spot to head when you're looking for a quick bite but can't stomach fast food. Menu items have an awesome selection of super fresh ingredients and flavors, and with everything including soups, salads, wraps, paninis, and more there's truly something for everyone. ALSO: Smoothies here are 100% real! Nothing better than satisfying a smoothie craving with one that's made with ACTUAL fruit, yogurt, milk, etc. (instead of sugary syrups.) This place is the real deal and once you try it you'll be hooked.
