"Tainan cuisine is known for its sugary taste profile; the Tainanese founder thinks outside the box to reinterpret the cooking of his hometown. The end product always goes well with champagne. The menu changes regularly to reflect what's in season, while specialities such as stir-fried leafy greens with wax apple, and scrambled eggs with tomato and lobster never fail to pleasantly surprise. Clever use of plant art gives the room a greenhouse vibe." - Michelin Inspector

"Another venture from the Fujin Tree Group, whose Taipei empire spans cafes, specialty stores, and clothing — Fujin Tree Taiwanese Cuisine & Champagne offers traditional banquet dishes such as dong po rou (fatty pork belly braised in soy sauce) alongside an extensive champagne menu. The usual banquet restaurant signifiers — brocade tablecloths, bottles of Taiwan Beer — are absent, replaced by a minimalist interior peppered with ethereal dried flower sculptures and polished wood furniture. Modern Taiwanese cuisine, Michelin one star restaurant in Taipei. Go to try during lunch hour and almost full on a weekday. The place is a bit hidden inside some residential area but with a nice entrance. Overall ambience is quite cozy with a lot of sunlight during day time. Very simple interior, open space with an open kitchen. Visibility of the kitchen team working busily but drawback is a bit noisy ( where our table sitting in front of it) Food in general taste good and not oily as most of the Taiwanese restaurants. Love most the steam chicken and the egg tofu ,both very tender. Staff are very attentive and nice. Price on a high side ( Michelin 1 star). personally I am not being impressed though . May be I have high expectations or because we have only 2 people cannot try too many dishes and missing out their signature?

It has received Michelin 1 star for the past couple of years. It’s quite a far distance to walk from MRT station. The food is worth it though. We had those dishes that were recommended by the waiter. Those were all delicious Taiwanese food that we had not tried anywhere else before. It’s a heart warming meal after having all the night market food. Price point is on the expensive side. Recommend to go in a group.

Service was really great and friendly. We didn’t have reservation but the staff (especially our host Fin) worked hard in finding a way to accommodate my out town guests. Food was well prepared and delicious. Highly recommend!

I went there with my Taiwanese friends. We ordered around 8-9 dishes, and all of them were exceptional. The dish that stood out for me was sautéed pork liver with X.O. sauce. It was mind-blowing. I love pork liver in general, but this is undoubtedly the best I’ve ever had. Deep fried egg tofu also impressed me. The service was good.

Food so so for the price you pay, of the dishes I ordered, chicken is the best. Found the white fungus overcooked ( taste soggy), beehoon too dry and lacked taste. Beef would be better if grilled rather than fried. Tried better Taiwanese 1 star michelin food. Chefs all looked very young too

It’s hard to describe how good this food was. Pictures don’t really do the food justice, the flavors are way beyond anything you can perceive from photos. If you like anything about Taiwanese food you must try this restaurant and eat anything from their specialities or chefs choice list. Service and ambience are relatively casual, but it’s almost welcome when the food is the star of the show. Champagne is a good pairing, their house option was fine by the glass; but they have wine, beer, and non-alcoholic options s too if you prefer. They’re opening a new location in Taipei 101 in February 2024; it should be a higher end affair but I might prefer to return to the charm of this location in the future.

One of the highlights for my 10 day trip to Taiwan! Top notch service and food. We enjoyed almost all the dishes. Everyone loved the omelette which was super fluffy on the inside. We also ordered 2nd for the greens. Wonderful meal and hope to be back again.

Michelin-starred restaurant offering authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Services were excellent and the foods were top rated with surprisingly mild taste and original flavorings. Some dishes have to be pre ordered so do check out the menu earlier. Satisfying dining experience
