Fujin Tree Taiwanese Cuisine & Champagne (Songshan)

"Tainan cuisine is known for its sugary taste profile; the Tainanese founder thinks outside the box to reinterpret the cooking of his hometown. The end product always goes well with champagne. The menu changes regularly to reflect what's in season, while specialities such as stir-fried leafy greens with wax apple, and scrambled eggs with tomato and lobster never fail to pleasantly surprise. Clever use of plant art gives the room a greenhouse vibe." - Michelin Inspector

The 38 Best Restaurants in Taipei | Eater

"Another venture from the Fujin Tree Group, whose Taipei empire spans cafes, specialty stores, and clothing — Fujin Tree Taiwanese Cuisine & Champagne offers traditional banquet dishes such as dong po rou (fatty pork belly braised in soy sauce) alongside an extensive champagne menu. The usual banquet restaurant signifiers — brocade tablecloths, bottles of Taiwan Beer — are absent, replaced by a minimalist interior peppered with ethereal dried flower sculptures and polished wood furniture. This was my first time at Fujin and I’ve only heard about it through the Michelin guide! Wanted to try a Michelin star restaurant without breaking the bank. I’m from America and we ordered the 4 set menu and added a lychee pork to offset the (1,000 TPE) per person. I have to say the experience here was amazing! The food was soo delicious and super light and easy on the stomach yet providing such richness in flavor and pairing that has been amazing for my friends and I. Lilly was an AMAZING server who went out of the way to make us feel welcomed, appreciated and cared for. She gave us outstanding service and truly went out of her way to make us have the best experience at this restaurant! Overall, this meal is a thoughtful dialogue between past and present. It doesn’t try to reinvent Taiwanese cuisine it refines it. Every dish feels rooted in memory, yet polished with contemporary technique and balance. A truly memorable experience that shows how tradition can evolve without losing its soul. I can’t wait to come back and bring others here as well!

We tried several dishes here and overall had a delicious experience. • 🦪 Stir-fry oyster with Chinese doughnut: Easily the highlight of the meal. The oysters were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the pairing with the crispy doughnut was brilliant — the textures and flavors worked beautifully together. • 🌿 Cordia and white water vegetable: Slightly crunchy with a touch of sweetness, making it refreshing and light. • 🐖 Pork neck with squid and stinky tofu: Flavor was good, but the pork neck pieces were cut a bit large, so they came out a little chewy. • 🥭 Green mango dessert: Pickled green mango served over shaved ice. Unless you’re a big fan of green mango, this one may be worth skipping. ⚠️ Note: The restaurant has a NT$1000 per person minimum, so be prepared to order above that amount for your table.

We came here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. And it did not disappoint. The food was great. We especially liked the braised tenderloin beef, sweet and sour pork with lychee and the braised dongpo pork. The braised beef tenderloin and the braised dongpo pork are new and yet they taste familiar. The braised beef reminds me of the beef pares I had in Manila. The braised dongpo pork, on the other hand, reminds me of pork humba. All in all, they served us the best Taiwanese food we’ve had. The desserts, on the other hand, were not good. We had the sweet peanuts and almond tofu and none of them were delicious. It’s such a shame because all the other food we ordered were great. Even the guava juice is refreshing. It balances out all the richness of the food we ordered.

Was nervous about the service due to past reviews, but I had a great experience! Staff were smiling and attentive (water refilled without asking). The food quality and taste were truly Michelin-worthy. Will definitely return on my next trip to Taiwan!

There are a few Fujin Tree locations - at least two in Taipei from what I can tell - but this is the one that actually holds the Michelin star. Some people assume all branches automatically share the accolade, but that’s definitely not how it works. I’ll review the Taipei 101 location separately. We arrived and were seated right away after the hostess checked the book. The vibe is modern, clean, and casually chic. Service was on point — well-trained team, attentive without and friendly. They started us with a little amuse bouche of watermelon radish that woke up our appetites. We ordered the minced pork with chives, century eggs & peppers, boiled chicken with sauce, the braised Dongpo pork with candied dates, and the Pu’er Tea sweet dumplings for dessert. Everything was genuinely delicious. When the Dongpo pork came out, the server actually paused to let me get my photo, then took it back to the kitchen to have it cut. Thoughtful touches like that go a long way. This location truly earns its star. I can’t say the same for their other one. I’d happily come back and would recommend this branch without hesitation.

Google
A great Taiwanese restaurant that adds creativity to its dishes while staying very authentic. Every dish was cooked perfectly—fresh and full of flavor. The Braised Dongpo Pork with Candied Dates was stewed to perfection and literally melted in mouth. The Butterfish with Rice Vermicelli had a rich, flavorful broth, and the freshness of the fish paired beautifully with the noodles. The Stir-Fried Prawns with Peeled Chili and Scrambled Eggs was also a must-order, the flavors blended together perfectly. Other highlights included the Boiled Chicken with Sauce, Crispy Egg Tofu, Stir-Fried Vegetables with Wax Apple, and Sweet and Sour Pork with Lychee—all equally delicious. Since this restaurant has earned a Michelin star for five consecutive years (since 2021), the price is on the higher side, but it’s absolutely worth it if you want to enjoy a warm, cozy dinner with friends.

Google
Located on the 5th flr of Taipei 101. Pricey but worth it. Just make sure that the waiter hear you well when you are asked, "sparkling or still water". I suggest if you can't speak Chinese, type it on your phone. We picked still and they gave us an open bottle of sparkling water they immediately poured on our glasses. Too fast and then it's too late to complain. Language barrier.

After all these talk about their signature dishes, we are really disappointed with our dinner experience. First, we were seated at a long table for 6 of us. It is really not convenient to share the dishes. For a fine restaurant, the dishes were served too fast so you don’t really have time to fully appreciate the full flavours. The chicken is ok but the sauce, the small lime, and the ginger slices do not really enhance the flavour. The fried water lotus was so so. And the oyster fried with dough fritter did not blend well. So was the fried chives. The pig liver with XO sauce was a total failure. The livers came in different size and thickness but all over fried so you cannot tell it is pig liver. Then the cook just scooped some XO sauce on top of some liver slices. The ‘old skin soft inside’ bean curd is ok but the sauce did not enhance the bean curd so why it is signature dish? The sweet dates pork was good but not good enough to impress you. The taro with pork is a total failure. The cook just have the taro smashed into a soup and cooked some deep fried strips of pork in it. The pork had no taste and the taro soup also no meat flavour. Honestly, the dishes are all ‘pre-made’ food and that is why they can be served so quickly. There is no heat and real flavour in the food.

Yelp
The chef may be off today. The environment and service are pretty good. The chicken in today's meal was just ok, but the rest was so-so. I was a little disappointed that this is a Michelin recommended restaurant. We ordered with confidence after seeing the Michelin recommendation written on the menu and open Kitchen ,but the food seemed to be prepared in advance in a central kitchen, without the flavor of freshly cooked Taiwanese food!

Yelp
Delicious restaurant where we celebrated my sister's birthday in Taipei. They told us they are renovating this location so it must be nicer than when we visited in July. They have seasonal dishes and limited edition dishes that you have to pre-order. We really enjoyed the fried tofu dish and the oysters. The pork with taro was interesting but a the sauce was a little too thick for my taste. The mapo tofu was pretty spicy and also not our favorite in terms of flavor. We ordered a shaved ice dessert with osmanthus and pineapple that was spectacular.

Yelp
Taiwanese cuisine made with local ingredients with French-style presentation. Great taste! The staff were very courteous and attentive. Wonderful dining experience. Will definitely go back when I visit Taiwan again.

Yelp
The food is fantastic and the service is excellent. The egg tofu is particularly noteworthy as it simply melts in your mouth, and each dish has a distinct and delicious flavor. Although the prices at Fujin Tree are on the higher side, it's definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Modern twist to traditional Taiwanese cuisine. We made reservations for a Sunday night for 7 pm and the restaurant was not full. We understand that this restaurant is quite busy so reservations are best. I made a reservation in English and the servers at the restaurant spoke English. The menu items all looked very interesting but we could only select a few given we were a party of 3. Many dishes come in large and small sizes and we selected the small sizes so we can try more dishes. We ordered the Pork with Ginger and Sesame Oil which is a bit tart but very tasty. We also ordered the cuttlefish with sesame oil, soy sauce and rice wine which was very tasty and the cuttlefish was very tender. We also had the Formosa Fried Rice Vermicelli which was very good and not very greasy. We also had a small single serving of the noodle with garlic and soy sauce. We also had a very traditional Taiwanese dish of minced pork with chives, century eggs and peppers. This dish was very tasty but the peppers were a bit spicy to eat in its own so definitely eat it with rice. For dessert, we had the almond tofu which was very creamy yet light with brown sugar molasses. Dessert was delicious. Overall this was a great find and would recommend to give this restaurant a try.

Yelp
I love Taiwanese cuisine and am so happy to find Fujin Tree Taiwanese Cuisine & Champagne because it offers visitors the rare opportunity to enjoy Taiwanese food in a fine dining environment. Fujin Tree is a pretty well known name in Taipei's foodie scene. This venture of theirs pairs Taiwanese food with champagne. The space is a stylish dining room that has a decidedly organic feel - wooden decor, simple screed flooring and bulbs hanging from rusted chains between hanging robust herbs. If you've ever been to a re chao joint, you'll know that though the food is great it is a little on the unhealthy side and (like any places with abundant affordable food) it's pricey. Fujin Tree Taiwanese Cuisine & Champagne is anything but this. They offer you a choice of three champagnes to accompany your meal. We had four courses each including dessert. The space is lovely and if you're entertaining out-of-town businessmen I'd totally recommend this as a plac to introduce high profile guests to Taiwanese food.

Jin H.

Yelp
Excellent food but a bit of overpriced. I can see the idea but am worried if they can find a sustainable business model without selling champaign.
