Fukuryu Ramen serves up mouthwatering bowls of classic and modern Japanese noodles, with a cool vibe that's perfect for warming up post-game.
"Nothing warms you up after that big Ohio State football rivalry faster than a steaming bowl of ramen from Fukuryu. Get the spicy Red Dragon, where rich chicken bone broth is brimming with noodles, braised pork belly, chili pork crumbles, a jammy egg, and housemade chili paste. You can adjust the heat index, but even level one might lead to full-on face sweat—thankfully, the refreshing Nihon Gin and Juice made with yuzu-ginger lemonade cools things down. Round out the meal with some Japanese fried chicken, which is great for picky eaters in your group. While they have many locations, the Upper Arlington spot is a five-minute drive from the Shoe and not much farther from Nationwide Arena." - erin edwards, kindra peach
"Launched in partnership with a ramen chain from southern Japan, Fukuryu is the first of its name to grace American soil. Owner Jeff Tsao, an OSU grad who also attended the Culinary Institute of America, opened the first location in Australia in 2014 before bringing the restaurant to Columbus. It’s worth trying the signature tonkatsu ramen (made with pork bone broth) and shoyu ramen (Tokyo-style made with chicken and fish broth), but Fukuryu also sells an assortment of Japanese delicacies and drinks. Look out for the Red Dragon Japanese Fried Chicken, which is tossed in a spicy red sauce, served on its own or in a sandwich with a fried egg, Kewpie mayo, and unagi sauce." - Angela Lee
"Nothing warms you up after that big Ohio State football rivalry or Columbus Blue Jackets faceoff faster than a steaming bowl of ramen from Fukuryu. Round out your meal with some Japanese fried chicken, which is great for picky eaters and/or younger kids in your group. While they have many locations, the Upper Arlington spot is a five-minute drive from the Shoe (where the Buckeyes play) and not much farther from Nationwide Arena where the Jackets chase the puck." - Kindra Peach
