13 Great Austin Bars With Activities - Austin - The Infatuation

"If you’ve ever posted up at the Skee-Ball machines at Dave & Buster’s for hours trying to win enough tickets to win a little toy plane, while asking yourself “I wonder what this experience would be like at a bar in East Austin,” we’ve got just the place for you. You won’t win any tickets, but if you do want to get competitive there’s a Skee-Ball league you can join that plays a few nights a week. Or show up on Wednesdays and Thursdays when the lanes are free—just go buy a toy plane later because you’re an adult." - nicolai mccrary

Google
Full Circle Bar is hands down the best dive bar in Austin and it’s not close. Amazing community of people, very cheap drink specials, SKEE BALL, a great back patio, and home to some of Austin’s best bartenders. Cara, Kayla, Lazzy, and the rest of the staff are extremely kind, attentive, and bust their asses to deliver great service and quality drinks. This is perhaps my favorite bar of all time

Molly Williams

Google
Outstanding! Thank yall so much for an awesome night out and caring about safety. Karaoke was a blast and the bar tenders were amazing. One of the best bars I’ve been to in a long time. Will definitely be back! LE safe.

Ivan Collins

Google
We love skeeball at full circle. Patio area is decent, but a little raw. Drink prices here are pretty solid. Definitely an East Austin clientele.

Edgar Vinueza

Google
Had a great "Austin" night. Fair drink prices, fun staff, singing, games. Just straight up fun.

Sam Alford

Google
This bar might be one of the best kept secrets of Austin. With a fun and clever decor, they have a little something for everyone. Shady part of town with a hole in the wall feel.

Bob Hazlett

Google
Cozy Eastside Austin bar with beer, liquor, good looking folks and all the tater tots you can eat. Inside they have 6 Skeeball lanes and out back is a cool green space with tables and cornhole. Check their calendar for fun events like trivia, karaoke and a Skeeball League. Come for the friendly service, stay for the Skeeball!

Alicia Sandbakken

Google
Always a fun spot for date night or a night out with friends! Friendly staff and good prices.

Google
Love this place! I've hosted my birthday party there the last two years - booking was super easy, straightforward, and reasonable. Bartender Cory is phenomenal, the place is queer friendly and aligns with me and my friends' values, and I love supporting local places - but especially when they have easy street parking.

Yelp
I mean skeeball AND drinks just a short walk from home? Yes, please! Skeeball is $6 an hour or $10 unlimited. So much fun! I love the outdoor patio space. I love the drinks and the bartenders. I love the other patrons. And most importantly, I LOVE EVERYTHING THEY STAND FOR!
google avatar

Yelp
My friends and I recently joined a skee-ball league at Full Circle Bar, and it's honestly the most fun I've ever had! The staff is incredibly welcoming and thoughtful, making everyone feel right at home. The bar staff is super attentive, and the drinks are fantastic--I even tried a Hamm's beer for the first time here. What I love most about this place is how truly queer and transgender-friendly it is. I always feel safe and comfortable in this space, which isn't something I can say for every bar. Even the bathroom setup adds to the sense of safety and inclusion. And don't forget: count to five Mississippi when you flush!

Yelp
So much fun! Who knew skeeball league would be so fun? Fun little dive bar with cold drinks and a nice outdoor area.

Yelp
Really cool place. Free skee-ball, old-school Nintendo, karaoke on the weekends, and generously-poured drinks. Spacious back patio. Fun place to meet friends for games and adult beverages.
google avatar

Yelp
Free skee ball and some board games make this dive bar fun. Bartender was very friendly. $5 beer and shot special available. The pizza was really good. Not very big but very welcoming

Yelp
My brother and I stopped by for drinks with a friend when we stopped in Austin on our way back to Dallas from San Antonio a few weeks ago. We had had dinner nearby, but I wanted to spend more time with my friend before getting back on the road! We enjoyed our drinks and the bar. It was chill, kind of a dive, but with interesting drinks. And full of people enjoying skeeball, which was fun to watch! It was definitely a bar that was just comfortable to be - a great place to catch up with my friend after not seeing her for a year! I enjoyed my Old Fashioned, the vibes, and the service. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.
google avatar

Micky N.

Yelp
A fun bar with reasonably priced drinks and free skeeball before 9PM (I think). There are no complaints here! The bartender was just minding her business most of the time, but that's fine since no one was hanging out at the bar top any ways! I also loved their outdoor area. The painted fences were a nice touch and I love that they keep bug repellant for the customers. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a nice spot to play some games.

Yelp
What a gem we discovered on Saturday looking for a drink spot. Great vibe, great bonus, great pours! They had Patron and Topo Chico which I don't find often so I was a happy lady! Skee Ball was a bonus!
google avatar

Rob P.

Yelp
Can't hate on a bar that does free skeeball two days a week and overlaps it with a pretty decent happy hour! I came here and had a $3 well drink and practiced my 100-point shots. There's some real skeeball nerds that come here to practice for their leagues... I can say nerd because I could easily see myself becoming one of these nerds. Ha!

Yelp
Full circle might be my favorite bar in austin, but i dont come here enough. This bar has a strong northeast vibe. It reminds me of home. They have another location in brooklyn. They serve lagunitas. They have dreidle shuffle board, which is amazing in itself. They top it off with an edgy location in a gentrifying area. The key feature is skee ball. Its addicting and its free before 8p. In terms of atmosphere, its a pretty standard dive bar. They have a nice patio in the back with some cool murals. I also like the fact that their beer menu deviates from the austin starter pack. The have some sours from blue owl in addition to lagunitas. Theyre well and cocktail game is pretty standard but not bad. Not too expensive. They check off all the features that i want in a bar. The last thing to note is the neighborhood around the bar is pretty scrappy. 10 years ago, this place was pretty dangerous. Its a lot more subdued now, thanks to all the new luxury apt complexes. Some fun characters still walk by during the week though so be warned.

Yelp
Skeeball and Beer .... I mean does it get much better than that .... Maybe not! Full Circle has definitely won me over. Every time I go in here I always play about $10 in skeeball - it's $1 a game and then have a couple of drinks. My favorite thing to do here is probably sit and watch the pros. They are all decked out in their skeeball tournament shirts and have total serious face going on. They play on one machine and you can tell they have skill because throw after throw they hit the 40 point hole and sometimes the 50. It's amazing to watch and I feel like me trying to explain what is going on in here is probably not doing it justice. FYI if you need dollar bills for skeeball just ask the bartender for change - they are good about that. If you've never ventured into Full Circle you are missing out for sure! This place is one of a kind.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped for a drink on an early Friday night before heading to an event down the street. My husband ordered a beer and I ordered a Moscow mule. The drink was made wrong and the bartender realized right after she handed to me. She ended up remaking my drink which was delicious. The bartender let us know that the skeeball machines were currently free so we played a few game. Definitely a dive bar and I loved it! I would like to try some tots in the future since they sounded good via the descriptions. Also it should be noted they have an outdoor area with corn hole and patio seating.

Yelp
I forget the name of the beer I had here, but it was described to me as a grapefruit flavored IPA. The bartender here is super sweet and patient -I asked for a recommendation of something g local on draft. Anyway, the attraction here is the skeeball - there are 5 lanes. Not sure if drunk or buzzed skeeball is advisable but it sure was fun! This place has a local bar feel, everyone seemed to know each other.

Yelp
Full circle food was a pleasantly unexpected surprise! Fun dive bar with a great chef in the back. Try the beignet special for sure!!

Yelp
I am leaving this same review to Dozen Street Bar. Both bars are seriously under-staffed. While at the bar, a huge fight started brewing between tenants of Full Circle and Dozen Street. People from Dozen street were throwing beer cans over the fence to people on Full Circle, made temper flare ups, and punches were being thrown across the fence. This kept going for well over 20 minutes... yet not a single-staff member from either bar ever showed up. I understand that the staff can't be everywhere at any time, but considering nobody ever showed up makes me think the guys inside are so overworked that they can't oversee the bar experience. Ordering at the bar was slightly annoying as the bartender kept not paying attention on who was first. Consistently, it seemed like he preferred to tend the women first, regardless of who showed up first. Bar was slightly empty so it wasn't an issue most of the time, but the one time it got busy, it was very obvious the guy just took orders as he pleased. It was a very uncomfortable night all in all. I had a good time due to the people there, as well as the bands playing, but the staff work was SERIOUSLY underwhelming.

Yelp
Why do I have to go online to play ski ball? Wtf I have quarters but I'm sitting here doing nothing and no one else is playing either because wtf I have to go online? Stupid
google avatar

Katie M.

Yelp
Finally. I've found my spirit animal in bar form. We went on a Thursday night and enjoyed FREE SKEEBALL. The line system is vague but seems to be "enjoy, but share". There is plenty of seating inside with lots to look at. The outside is equally chill with tons of cornhole boards. Adequate outside lighting and quite a few picnic tables makes it a great place to meet friends or make friends. The bathrooms were pretty clean which is always a plus. They have skeeball leagues for the serious player. But my cousin and I giggled like school girls playing and trash talking each other's performance. This is a bar we're you don't feel any expectations. It's not dirty or pretentious or overly themed. The whole thing screams "hey, enjoy yourself!" 10/10 will return. (There is a tator tot themed kitchen. They had some really fat kid delight sounding combinations. I didn't try them yet but just a heads up, it's there.)

Yelp
With the exception of league nights, it's normally not very crowded and that means you can skeeball to your heart's content! My only complaint is that they aren't open before 5pm on Saturday and Sunday - could totally see myself day drinking here and getting my skeeball game on. On second thought, perhaps it's better they aren't open during the day; otherwise my skeeball cumplusion would prevent me from ever getting anything accomplished on the weekends :)
google avatar

Hilary G.

Yelp
I loved this place! Came here with a group on a Saturday night, wasn't too crowded, and the bartender was nice. I love that there are signs up about if you're in trouble, go to the bartender for help (i.e., want to be walked to your car, need help, etc.) or signs in the bathroom for help. For those alone, I feel safe in this bar. I appreciate having a safe atmosphere in a bar. It's been a long time since I've played Skee ball, and I forgot how much fun it is. What a great game in a bar, outside of there being heavy balls being thrown while drinking. I tried the chicken strips served in the back of the bar. Amazing! So tasty, and the curly fries and sauces - not to mention how super nice the server was doing the food orders/service. Such a nice guy who answered our questions, checked on things after. I'd definitely come back here.

Yelp
This was our "fun" stop last night for a birthday celebration and Full Circle Bar delivered! We spent most of our time in the corn hole garden which kept our outdoorsy husbands happy. Skeeball looked like fun but it was pretty crowded in that are due to an engagement party going on. (Great place to celebrate that by the way!) The bartender was friendly and proficient, keeping things moving quickly. Some in our party really appreciated the cooler with ice water freely accessible at the end of the bar. It was great to be able to fill your glass with water as often as you liked without bothering the bartender. The atmosphere was fun and friendly. It felt as though you were at a friend's backyard party. People were there to enjoy company and conversation. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Free Skeeball And lectures In backyard. Relaxed Place to learn, play, and drink a few friends.
google avatar

Cassy R.

Yelp
Divey with some games for entertainment. Not bad but not necessarily good. 5 stars for the staff.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
This place rules. Six see ball lanes (free Wed&thurs 5pm-2am) Atmosphere is rad, parking is rad.. The only thing I would recommend is not coming here to get a bloody Mary..as they don't carry tomato juice, zing zang, major Peters, etc..or anything to make a bloody Mary or bloody Maria.. Other than that. I love this spot.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
Jana was an excellent bartender! She was friendly and attentive when she needed to be. This feels like a neighborhood bar, but a welcoming one. They offer free skee ball and plenty of other games for fun. It was a very comfortable place to hang out while visiting our son in Austin. Would love to go back again!
google avatar

Kasy S.

Yelp
Awesome neighborhood space. My wife and I came in our climbing gear and didn't get any funny looks. Friendly bartender, solid local beer selection, and fantastic food from the kitchen.
google avatar

Dee L.

Yelp
Fun cozy bar with plenty of drink options. The backyard seating makes you feel like home. Great place to meet friends and hang out. Parking is next street over or pay across the street. There are several other bars within walking distance to check out as well.
google avatar

Bob J.

Yelp
Came by on a Sunday night. The bartender tries to look hard, ruff n tuff but is actually pretty nice. Cozy little dive, and generous pours. Will definitely be back

Yelp
After weeks of mismatched schedules, I finally got to accompany a friend to Full Circle Bar for some Tuesday night Brewskeeball. It was most delightful! You have to pay $1 per game on league nights (and you also need to be part of league, to my knowledge), but I'm told that it's free to skee on nights when there aren't leagues playing. The bar may be in a divey area, but everything inside was pleasantly clean and decently lit - a far cry from bars like The Grackle. They're still working on getting taps, but for now they have a solid range of canned beers (everything from Lone Star to Karbach and Austin Beerworks) and liquors. If you're in the mood for a little punch, they offer a solid special called "Tall Guy in a Little Hat," which is a Lone Star tallboy with a shot of wells on the side for the tidy sum of $5. Do yourself and journey on out to Full Circle. It's a solid spot to be, regardless of whether or not you're interested in skeeball. Trust me though, if you aren't in to skeeball now, you will be after a visit here. After all, skeeing is believing!
google avatar

Kelsey H.

Yelp
I have to say I really love the FBC people! They are just the most friendliest people and they just want to have an awesome time! This place just keeps getting better and better every time I go. They really put their heart into this place. Get a team of three together and expect the endless skee puns. There are events going on here all the time. It's a $1 a game but they do have free skee on some nights. There is a parking lot across the street inside the fence. Prosecco is now on tap btw! There is a large outside area for "Extra Postive Land" time. During Brewskee-Ball (Skeeball league season games) are mostly on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights which gets really rather crowded and if your aren't part of the league you won't have a chance to play those nights, unfortunately. You can still cheer on teams and come for drinks, cornhole, and friends! Let the good times roll!
google avatar

Jennifer O.

Yelp
Update: FREE SKEEBALL FOR EVERYONE on Wednesday and Thursday nights. All night. Bring your buddies and come play!!! It's so relaxing after a stressful day of work. Cheap drinks!!! $5 for a well shot and a Lone Star tallboy. How you gonna beat that, friends? (Yes, everyone is a friend here.) Beer is still in cans for right now, but taps are coming soon. The canned beer selection has a little something for everyone - Austin Beer Works, Lone Star and Pearl, Shiner, cider, and plenty more. Bathroom doors now lock very nicely! :) The owners of this bar are putting so much care into making it a great place to hang out, and it shows. Come see! (AND SKEE!)
google avatar

Cassie M.

Yelp
Bar tender was wasted drunk. When we asked to be served he responded, "you can do the dishes first". Horrible service. Disgusting.
google avatar

Matilda H.

Yelp
Whoever the Bartender that was Blonde and Drunk and flashing her Breasts all Wednesday night. She was the Rudest most aggressive Waitress I have ever came across, not a ounce of humbleness in her body. Not even 2 seconds after me and a group of friends took a shot and were making the decision to order more shots the waitress asked "was there a tip left on the table? Because I didn't get a tip". We were confused being that we weren't done drinking and planned to order 3 or 4 more rounds, she took it upon herself to assume we weren't going to tip her at all and began badgering us and kept saying "yes I didn't see a tip, was there one left on the counter?" Also she was slurring every word as if she was drunk. The place and bar is nice and fun slot, but somebody needs to have a serious talk with her.
google avatar

Megan C.

Yelp
Fun place to hang out but cocktails are hit or miss so we usually stick to beer. The skeeball is a ton of fun and worth it to get the all you can play for $12! You'll probably end up playing enough rounds to make it worth it also the Tots are amazing!
google avatar

Jackolyn F.

Yelp
Circle bar is one of my favorite places on the east side. Why might you ask? Well, the parking is great, the servers are friendly and the cocktail and beer selection is on point. I love the back patio area that has free cornhole. The skee ball is a cool extra perk. Oh check the bar to see if they have the N64 hooked up so you can get your Super Smash Bros on!
google avatar

Ronnie P.

Yelp
Brilliant! 6 skeeball machines linked via FB and smartphone technology with a fully stocked, affordable bar and delicious tater tots--everything you need for a great time. You don't need coins or cash for the skeeball, and the line system is managed by the website, so you know exactly when it is your turn and which lane you will be using. You can select to play up to three games in one turn, so you can still become one with your favorite lane and build your streak.
google avatar

Tc S.

Yelp
Im in love with the bartender; she is the most beautiful women ever
google avatar

Henry O.

Yelp
Great east side bar and skeeball-a-torium! Laid back staff, super cool owners and overall vibe, with free skeeball every night but Friday & Saturday. Dog friendly, spacious patio for the smokers, with cornhole and bocci ball as well. Check out the food concession spot in the back, basically a couple handful of items which revolve around delicious tator-tots and fun combinations, with a couple curveball items if ya wanna avoid the carbs! Just keeps on getting better as the neighborhood grows!

Adrian T.

Yelp
The fucked up the one good thing about this bar, the skiball is now dumb and expensive.
google avatar

Stanley S.

Yelp
There was a time when life was meaningless. Now is still that time, but full circles bar makes for good amusement and friendly stratosphere. Like the inside? They have it. Like the outside? They have it. I would recommend full circles to happy and sad people alikes.

Lindsey R.

Yelp
If you like Skee-ball, then this little dive is the place for you! We recently celebrated a birthday party here and the games were a hit. It isn't a big place so we took up most of the bar with our group of 20. The games are all electronic, so long gone are the days of quarters and tickets. That being said, the queuing up online can get a little cumbersome. We ordered pizza from East Side Pies which was no issue, and really made a difference after too many drinks.

PG N.

Yelp
Free skee ball last night and happy hour until 9(not sure if it's always like that)... Cool bar, nice staff.
