Nice little spot in East NY near Gateway Center. Went for brunch on 12/29/24 a Sunday around 2:30. Was not crowded, honestly did not expect it to be. But the ambiance was nice the server and DJ were courteous. Music wasn’t too loud and could vibe out and hear the people you came with speak. Food was definitely good only thing I would say is though it didn’t come out cold but got cold pretty quickly. I had chicken and waffles, my aunt and mother ordered the fish and chips and my sister ordered the chicken soup with the southern fried chicken dish she opted for mashed potatoes instead of Mac and cheese. Food was well cooked except the fried chicken was a tad bit over cooked but had flavor and was edible. The waffles got cold on me. My sisters mashed potatoes got cold as well as she needed to finish the soup, all came out around the same time. She didn’t care the greens that came with the meal, might have been too spicy. My aunt and mother enjoyed the fish and chips, fries were cooked well and everything was seasoned well also. Had the sorrel which was a bit tart and my mom got a rum punch she said was not bad. I’d recommend if you’re in the area.

Tried this carribbean themed restaurant for the first time. Located in the vicinity of the Gateway Mall, it features street parking. The inside setup is nice and very accessible. On this visit, the service staff was attentive and helpful. The one page menu features drink selections on the reverse side. They have a regular menu and a brunch menu at $45.00 that features unlimited mimosas for 1 hour. Sampled the Fusion Sampler that had Jerk wings, callaloo spring roll,  coconut shrimp, and codfish fritters. However, they had no collaloo, so the spring rolls were filled with regular Asian spring roll vegetables. The jerk wings were dry rubbed and a tad bit dry, the shrimp allowed for options of jerk, grilled or fried. Tried the fried, but it lacked any cocktail or tartar sauce. The provided sauces were mayo or a curry mayo that didn't taste much like a curry mayo. The cod fritters were good. Not sure why the feature callaloo if they don't have it. Just calling it a vegetable spring roll would work and then it could be filled with the vegetables available for that period. For the entree, had the Oxtail with Slow braised beef, rice & peas, collard greens, and Brown Stew chicken with chicken in brown stew, rice & peas, collard greens. The oxtails did not taste as if the meat were marinated before cooking, it had a very oily mix with the gravy on the plate. The chicken was good, but again to much oil to the gravy ratio. As a island eatery, the addition of a good pepper sauce or hot sauce is needed. The hot sauce offering was bland and tasteless. As for the drink options, the pairing were a bit contrary to the desired taste. Had the Rum Punch that contains Wray & Nephew white rum, Meyers rum and fruit punch. The Meyers rum on its own is over whelming as it is a dark rum with its own distinctive taste. As for non alcoholic drinks, they feature no sugar free options except a in house lemonade. Overall, this is a reasonable price restaurant. It's the details of the menu and drinks that need improvement to make this a much better food establishment.

This place is a cozy spot on the corner. I went with a group for work. I must say the appetizers were really good. Especially the cod fritters and coconut shrimp. I liked the calamari and spring rolls as well.. however, it did say callaloo but appeared to be cabbage in the spring rolls. My meal was the jerk salmon..in which I did not receive jerk sauce as stated. The salmon was good. My sides were okay.. the mashed potatoes were really hard. Others ordered the snapper escovich but all people that ordered sent it back. It was very very dry and hard. The Mac n cheese was very hard as well. Yhe drinks were good. I had a Cadillac passion fruit margarita. I would return... Especially for those cod fritters

We have my mother 70th birthday party here and they were extremely accommodating, especially when we change the reservation three times! And DJ was very entertaining and so sweet to give our mother a entrance song. It was all very wonderful and enjoyable! Thank you so much.

Was lucky enough to be walking by their food truck and picked up some jerk chicken (w/2 sides) and mac & cheese. Only $5 each, their loss may gain. Grateful for the excellent food at a great price.

Had a great time. Atmosphere is nice and lovely once it gets going. Food is pretty good and drinks were nice and not watered down. The only thing is service is slow. I would go again.

Ordered and got giving something I didn’t ask for. Roti was very oily as if it was just sitting in oil. Was told 10 mins for my order and waiting dam near 30+ mins was more veggies than actual shrimp never again

The atmosphere is very welcoming. Music isn't too loud, which is a plus. The greeting by the cashiers and host can most certainly be worked on. Ordered a blue Hawaiian where I was charged extra for it to be frozen. That's new to me but, no problem...I then picked up my drink from the bar, and I must admit, it was not good. It tasted like watered down ice and coconut Malibu. I wasn't offered a second courtesy option for the displeasure of my drink. Made my way back to the "Take Out" where my food was. I was hopeful that it was going to make up for the drink... but it was far from that. The Mac n cheese was absolutely bland (with carrots in it), and the yams were canned, topped with maple syrup and cinnamon. 2/5 for both. I also got chicken wings, whereas the frying grease definitely needs changing due to the harsh taste of burnt food residue on the crispy parts. Would not come here again

Yelp
Located a bit out of the way in East New York, I came here for a friend's birthday dinner. It was a fun place to celebrate, as the interior was colorful, popping with a DJ, and there was a lively atmosphere. Decided to order the Whole Red Snapper Escovitch, which was fried, topped with onion, carrots, and peppers in a slightly spicy vinegar sauce. This was served with a side of rice and peas, as well as steamed veggies. The Red Snapper was beautifully plated and I loved the well seasoned, delightfully crispy and tender meat of the fish. It was made in a certain way that it wasn't difficult to eat around the bones. The veggies on top were nice and crunchy, full of savory flavor. Steamed veggies included broccoli, green beans, and carrots. This was fresh and tasty. Rice and beans were perfectly cooked with yummy coconut flavor. I got to try the Whole Red Snapper in Brown Stew and Steamed. Surprisingly I really enjoyed the Stewed version, as the sauce was boldly flavorful with the fish being succulent and juicy. I also tasted the Plantains and Roti with Curry Chicken. Plantains were deliciously crisp, soft, and lightly sweet. Roti was also good filled with plenty of chicken. Service was solid. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Prices were reasonable. As the place is far from me, I don't see myself returning.

Yelp
Booooooooo Shame on THIS yankee for going to do laundry late&hungry on a Sunday. Not many places nearby serving real food at this time. I took a hopeful walk up Elton for a small dinner. These oxtails taste like they came from my yankee kitchen. That is to say that they tasted yummy, but not like they came from anybody's Jamaican restaurant. (I gotta explain that growing up in 90s, when the menu at the best Jamaican spots were on Chalkboards, even though you'd be better off just ASKING what they have) Really cool ambiance. Friendly service. Raised the score to 3 stars. Boom

Stacy C.

Yelp
I've been coming here for the $5 meal for a while, I do laundry close by and it's a nice hot little snack while I wait for clothes to be done. It's a small shell container of food and a good way to test out the fare. Food is good and fresh. No other similar cuisine close by to this either so they're pretty popular. They even have a food truck . We've passed by at night and this placevis alive and jumping. Karaoke and other specialty nights every night. This area gets pretty quiet at night after the nearby Gateway mall stores close. Great spots for drinks and dinner with entertainment. Jamaican food - I tried the curry goat, jerk chicken, oxtails and wings. Good vibes, spacious and always clean.

Yelp
The food was by far the best thing about this experience. Everything was on point. Loved my tender oxtails that had very little fat and lots of tender big pieces of meat in really good gravy. The rice and peas were deliciously seasoned and best of all, neither was too salty or too peppery. The chicken wings and the BBQ ribs were meaty and a good size. I was told the curry goat was also very good. Someone had the plaintain bites and loved them. I could not try them because they were topped with fish and I'm allergic. The drinks were strong and well worth the price. The Ambiance was welcoming and had nice music and an epic bar area. Seats were kinda hard but I guess that comes with the experience. Now, they lost a star for a couple reasons but mainly slow service and they were out of many things. Now the 'out of many things' is very typical Caribbean and you can't be in a Jamaican restaurant without something being out; but here, for example at 2 in the afternoon they were out of ice cream, drink mixes, carrot cake was down to one slice, and several others. BUT they really lost one star because it seemed as if all but one of the front staff called out or were coming in late. One poor person (Brandon) had to welcome people, seat us, take our order, bring out the food, serve as bartender, then as the busperson. He did everything except cook the food! Needless to say it was slow slow slow and we had to ask many times for things like water, hot sauce etc. one table, the woman had to go to the back to pick up her own food and take it to her table! Yes, I would go back because the food was great but also would know to expect to be there a moment!

Yelp
This is a quick go to spot that has pretty good food. They used to have a good happy hour but it seems as though they switched managers a few times and that all went out the window. The prices went up and the happy hour drink prices aren't worth it. They give you small glasses and make the drinks lighter than the regular drinks and they charge $9. When you do the math, two of the happy hour drinks (with half the amount of alcohol in it) cost you more than 1 full drink that's normally around $17. The happy hour food menu is a lot smaller, and they cost more now.

Yelp
This was my choice of the 1st place to eat upon returning home to NYC. It's in my mother's neighborhood, so I wanted to see what has become of Brooklyn, NY. All she told me was that there was a carribbean fusion spot blocks away. So instantly, I said, "Let's roll. Upon walking up to the restaurant, a person greeted us from outside and sat us. Inside was a straight vibe from jump. The energy was high, the music was playing, and you could smell the food cooking in the back. There is a nice size bar and dj in the front of the place. There is plenty of seating inside for any size group. I had the jerk chicken w/ rice & peas and collard greens. The food came out in a reasonable time. My mother had the chicken & Waffles. That was good I tried it the Waffles were thin and nice. There was like a slight spicy brine for the chicken. My brother had the whole Snapper that was also really good he said he really enjoyed it. I will return here w/ my sister because she would love the vibes here w/ her friends. Maybe we will return for brunch one day. This place reminds me of a place called 4Play w/ the nice music and energy. The server was very knowledgeable and fast! If you want good food and great vibes while in the gateway area of Brooklyn you must stop in. You won't be disappointed!!!

Yelp
I normally don't write reviews and to be honest I have no complaints about the food there a few items on the menu I have ordered and enjoyed and some you know they are testing a new cook. BUT how I was treated at FUSION EAST after reporting to the owner this was the 2nd time, I have found HAIR (gagging) in my food this was around the same time I just happened to stop by for some codfish fritter and the DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND MENTAL HYGIENE was there conducting an inspection. So, you would think the owner wanted to listen to a customer's complaint. I ordered $25 worth of food for me and my mom, but my order was curry goat & rice I returned to work. Now whenever I eat take-out/restaurant, I always take the fork and glide it through my food you know a quick inspection I moved the 2 pcs of meat off the rice and there it was a freagin HAIR!!!! EWWWWW (gagging again) I called them let them know what happened but clock this tea....the young lady on the other end TELLS me they were just inspected, this has been an issue before and she has talked to the people in the kitchen about this. She apologizes and tells me I can come pick up my refund, i get there the hand me the receipt and inform me the money will be returned in 3-5 days NP. It slips my mind and realize the money was not returned; Days, weeks go by I just count it as a lost. Several weeks later, I order a $5 lunch special (curry goat & rice) get to work, open the container, right there no need to use my glide detection the freagin HAIR is right there. I return to the restaurant, reminded of the $25 loss from the month before NOW this.... TWICE yeah i want all my returns. The staff informs the owner of my unresolved issue, he asks for my bank statement, never did he come to speak with me to offer his apologies, offer some compensation; he wanted to see my bank statement. I let him know you can keep the $25, return my $5 I will just write a review and post my proof!!!!

Yelp
Came here to celebrate a birthday on a Sunday. I must say, either they changed chefs, really paid attention to reviews, or we just got a good day but everything was very good. Service, food, ambiance. The dj even came over to ask if the music was too loud but we are Caribbean so it was perfect for us. The drinks were great, a bit strong but that's what we pay for right? One fishbowl is ENOUGH lol. We had some shots for the birthday boy but even that was more than a typical shot. Food was great too. Again, not sure if they changed the chef or he was in a good mood that day but he showed up with all the flavor. The escovitch snapper was soo good, the vegetables served with it were a bit spicy but that's expected (if you've eaten it before you know). I asked for oxtail gravy and that helped tone the spice down, but I also add that to every Caribbean dish when I go out. Everyone basically had oxtail and that was great as well. The fusion pasta.. was different. Def not "Rasta pasta" they cook theirs with turmeric or curry where it gets it's yellowish color from. I personally wasn't a huge fan of it but others liked it. The salon cakes and fried chicken were good too. The soup of the day was chicken and that was fairly good too. Not much provision in it but had good flavor. We all enjoyed our food and time spent here. I recommend, esp on a Sunday for brunch. Although they don't have a specific "brunch" menu. Call and make reservations if it's a bigger crowd.

Yelp
Let's do some math! DJ + Dinner + Drinks = TGIF at Fusion East. From the outside looking in, I thought that I was in for a treat. Sadly, you should never judge a book by its cover. The service at Fusion East had us all confused. I was initially introduced Fusion East through a surprise party that they catered more than a year ago. I thought the food was amazing then and looked forward to the on-site dining experience. As we waited for the rest of our party to arrive, we enjoyed light bites and refreshing sips of their rum punch. Our Fusion Sampler included jerk wings, coconut shrimp, and codfish fritters. Everything packed a punch, with the exception of the shrimp. NOTE: I do not eat shellfish. The DJ was on point, but the volume made it challenging to have a conversation. Although our evening at the Caribbean and Soul Food restaurant started off nicely, it quickly went downhill. Our large party proved to be more than the staff could handle. The staff tried but just seemed ill-prepared for our group despite the ample notice. Our repeated requests for water were met with pitchers but never enough glassware. The few that eventually made it to our table were small enough for just a shot. Fusion cuisine is no easy feat for ambitious restaurants that often fall short and totally miss the mark. Sadly, Fusion East is another one to add to that list. When it came to the menu, I opted for the safer choice by ordering the $20 boneless curry chicken with white rice and steamed vegetables. Nonetheless, my meal was pretty standard so I was satisfied. Unfortunately, there were a few new friends at the table who were less than impressed with their mango margarita, chicken and waffles, as well as the Fusion burger. I truly felt bad because these ladies traveled far for our get-together, only to dig into a mediocre meal. Despite the frustrating customer service, we made the best of our time together as sisters and enjoyed a few moments of joy as we watched other patrons dance the night away.

Yelp
I've been a few times and it's always pretty quiet here in terms of patrons. The music and atmosphere is always inviting -afternoon, evening or late night. I've had their oxtail and jerk chicken 8/10 for both. During my most recent visit I had the ackee and salt fish plantain bites... and I was thoroughly disappointed . The ackee was not cooked, not undercooked, just not cooked. And somehow they got all the salt and flavor out of the salt fish. Even the plantain tasted like boiled or steamed banana, there was no seasoning on it. I asked for some pepper and they didn't have, but they brought me minced score bonnet that didn't help at all. They were kind enough to replace it with coconut shrimp, it was good. The drinks were superb. Priscilla puts her foot, toe and elbow in them drinks.

Craig C.

Yelp
The owner and staff are great. Their drinks are top notch. Not to overpowering but enough to ensure that you have a buzz. The food is flavorful and tasty. I have sampled just about everything on the menu and No complaints here. Will continue to support and yes it is a BIPOC business.

Joannie B.

Yelp
Ordered from Ubereats because they have a deal and my greedy self could not pass it up. Took a while to get to me but the food was really good. I ordered the fried chicken with Mac Mac cheese, collard greens ,and candied yams, which I've never had before. The chicken is fried to perfection and had very good flavor. The Mac n cheese yummy. The collards are not lacking. And the candied yams; just goodness. I also had the escovitch salmon which came with rice and peas; It did not disappoint!! The only thing is the packing of the food that needs to be done better because, all of my sauce fom my salmon spilled In the bag. Other than that the food hit the spot. and I can't forget my hot sauce

Raccs F.

Yelp
Food 1/10 wings are always under cooked no matter how matter times I say well done & every thing else is either cold or under seasoned. Service is okay 6/10 Ambiance 9/10

Jasmine A.

Yelp
Food was on point! Service was good. Music was Top Tier! Priscilla was so helpful and accommodating. I had a great experience. Definitely will be going back!

Yelp
Wow a3 hour wait for food and 1.5 hours for a rum punch. Totally unacceptable. It's Christmas season and coworkers want to have fun. This establishment needs to hire more workers. Once the food and drink came for those of us who weren't disgruntled it was well prepared and the drinks were strong. Thank goodness we like each other and the music was good or else I'm not sure what would have happened.

Noble H.

Yelp
Omg where do I start. First of all I have heard so many good things about this place but I guess like all things you have to go for yourself. Entered. Wasn't greeted AT ALL. The two men that were present was awful. The drinks were drenched with rum(A good drink doesn't have to be drenched in alcohol to be amazing) the chairs were dirty, the tables were dirty, flies were flying around(won't hold that against them because someone must've opened the door) l, take out was going faster than in-door dining. The food was decent. Please revamp and do better. Some suggestions: Greeters should be present and pleasant, Bartenders should know what they are doing, Servers should be alert and aware of who is around. Finally, don't expect a tip if you did an awful job.

Harry K.

Yelp
I've only ever had takeout because I live relatively close by. As a result, I've never encountered the bad service others who've reviewed this restaurant have seemed to experience. The all-day 5$ boxes make for a nice satiating meal when you're on the go. My last visit I ordered the Curry Goat with Rice & Beans. The rice was soft and moist from the curry. The meat itself was tasty and tender too. The ratio of meat to rice is not bad. 4.673/5.0 only because the goat could've been seasoned better.

Yelp
Salutations and greetings to all, I must say that Fusion East has some exceptional food that they make. My experience actually took place at my cousins birthday party on 6/22/2023. Fusion provided there catering services for his event and it brought out all the politicians( Mayor Eric Adam's even pulled up), Jewish, African Americans, Hispanics and others. Everyone was enjoying the food including myself. Even with the food being left out for hours on a burner the food still remained fresh and never dull. The atmosphere of this party was very joyful, great energy, and endless amounts of positive vibes. I was a big fan of the flavorful bbq chicken wings. The wings always kept that great flavor and texture throughout the night. The grilled jerk shrimp did not disappoint and the oxtails were cooked to perfection. Definitely have to give this establishment a 10/10 and this was only based off their catering services. I can only imagine how great the food taste at the actual restaurant. Follow me on TikTok @biglee52291 for video reviews of restaurants internationally and domestically.

Yelp
I am a United States marine Disabled veteran who served honorably. I also work for the city of New York civil service and a devoted citizen to my city. I'm a hard working father to autistic toddler and a husband. My family likes to order food here and my wife especially. I never had a problem with the food. BUT IM SO UPSET AND I HAVE TO WARN YOU FUTURE POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS. Im very disappointed about the integrity of the evening shift team working at fusion eats. My wife loves to order from here and I went in dec 07,2022 around 6pm to order take out. The lady who took my order was name Tracy. She comes off so polite and nice and welcoming but she is actually a thief. I was charged for two order to take out and she automatically added the tip herself which she put 20% The order was 35 already. Now I don't care about tipping but I usually do it cash. So I was thrown off on how I get charged a 20% tip. I asked her if this tip is a automatic gratuity and she lied to me saying yes and the bartender after I ask for reassurance, at first he was unsure, then after he looked at Tracy it was a yes it's true. They do charge gratuity automatically. I felt off so I waited to speak to the manager the next day. He told me they don't charge automatic gratuity on take outs. So I explained to him his workers are robbing people but adding tips with out the customer authority. That just stealing and that's so wrong for a business to have workers doing that to us. WATCH OUT FOR THIS BUSINESS AND THEIR WORKERS. They got thieves working there who try's to add extra money without you noticing. I DO NOT TOLERATE STEALING. ESPECIALLY IN A BUSINESS. I'm so upset and will no longer be coming here AGAIN.

Gordon S.

Yelp
I am incredibly disappointed to say the least... I won't even write about the food in this review because the other review photos speak for themselves... I eat just about anything and everything (as you can see in my profile) but simply put- the food here didn't even look like food. Upon my arrival here, the hostess took about 15 minutes to figure out how to seat a man in a mobility scooter... JUST MOVE THE D*MN CHAIR AND I CAN RIDE UP TO THE TABLE... Anyways, I was so disgusted that I decided to try out the hookah... THE HOOKAH HAD CRUMBS ON THE MOUTHPIECE AND WAS STICKY!!! The only positive to going here is that the music is d*mn groovy. I'll end my review here...

Kisha V.

Yelp
Came on a Friday afternoon around 4:30pm. Was seated upon arrival immediately but didn't receive menus until 20 minutes later. Waiter and bartender took awhile just to assist us. Service was okay. Bartender Erica started making our drinks back to back and they where delicious. I don't recall the gentleman name that assisted us but he was extremely helpful once he noticed we didn't receive menus and was seated 20 minutes ago.

Yelp
So I went here for dinner. I LOVEEEEEEEEEE a black owned restaurant, a black owned business period. So trying them made my heart happy. Happiness dissipated once I walked in and could no longer hear my own thoughts. The DJ played his music exceptionally loud, it was even hard to order. Waiter kept asking me to repeat myself. Food: - calamari, though it looked like onion rings, were phenom. - I ordered jerk salmon and mashed potatoes. The jerk salmon was extremely salty while the potatoes were extremely bland. - the waiter was kind enough to take the meal back and let me order something else. I got chicken and waffles to go and ate them for breakfast this morning. I was told it's not usually like this so I'll take that person's word for it, but I won't go back. Feel free to try it at your own risk. Definitely not recommended for a date night. It was also disgusting to watch the second DJ (there was a switch after 10) try to obnoxiously flirt with every woman as they exited the place.

Kimberly H.

Yelp
I have ordered from this restaurant for years. I ordered the vegetable roti and it was horrible, the skin(wrap) was chewy and stale. The vegetables were ok but it appeared to be the filling from a veggie Rasta pasta. No potatoes or curry. It was saucy which I never had in my life. The plantain were old looking tasted ok. They would have been better off saying they ran out. My partner had the Rasta pasta with salmon, he said the salmon was overcooked. Disappointed to say the least.

Michelle H.

Yelp
The absolute WORST service I have ever experienced. For the food to be mediocre, the customer service is HORRIBLE. THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!++

Shirrell H.

Yelp
Walked in and no one to greet or sit us down. No problem we can do that ourselves. 10 mins later we flage down the only waitress working. Mind you there's about 30 ppl inside the establishment. We get the menu.... 10 mins later after trying to get her attention we place our orders. I had the rum punch. It was ok. My cousin ordered henny and coke but got henny and cranberry. No major deal but strike 1. 30 mins later our appetizer comes out the same exact time the meal does. Strike 2. I hate when that happens. The calamari wasn't good at all. Could barely eat a few pieces. Def was a waste of money. My jerk salmon taste good though. Inside is cute, big bar, lots of seats, live DJ. Music was blasting. I was able to charge my phone. I felt bad for the waitress but she didnt even introduce herself, no smile, no check in, no nada. Hire more workers and stop being so cheap. I have no plans on returning but if I do I hope they've improved by then.

Marcus W.

Yelp
Dad - curry goat Sister - fried chicken Brother - jerk chicken Me - oxtail Rasta pasta Out of all of these dishes nothing was a "wow" Everything was mediocre, you can go on YouTube and find a recipe and make a better dish The fried chicken was super dry like a frozen dinner thing when u warm it up on the toaster oven Curry goat lacked, didn't wow me at all Jerk chicken lacked flavor too, they need to pay 876 jerk to teach them Mac n cheese .. us Jamaicans we keep trying and "it neva Mek it " The pasta and oxtail ... listen y'all get the point Just take the extra ride and go to The Simpson or Swingz Also biggest pet peeve EVERYONE wants a party lit spot not a dining spot so if you think u can dine in and have a conversation about anything ? Good luck you're going to shout louder than a selecta at a dancehall party

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place since it first opened but somehow never found the time to visit until my friend's surprise birthday dinner was held here. Although the weather was pretty decent outdoors but upon entering Fusion East, it was pretty hot which was quite uncomfortable. Several of the dinner party guests and myself used the menus as fans to cool down. One of the workers told one of the guests that apparently the air conditioner broke down that day so that's why it was hot. There was not a lot of air coming from the ceiling vents. I ordered the chicken as my appetizer which came in three varieties bbq, jerk or fried and I chose to have the fried chicken. I ordered oxtails, rice and peas and garlic green beans as the substitute for the collards greens that they didn't have. It's Friday night, this is a Caribbean & Soul Food restaurant but you don't have the collard greens as stated on the menu to accompany the entree selections. That's totally not cool to be unprepared to satisfy your customers. My food selections were pretty good and I finished my meal. However, some of the other guests were not happy with their meals. The birthday girl wasn't pleased with her meal which is completely sad because it was her day to enjoy and celebrate with family and friends. She said that the mashed potatoes and mixed vegetables had no seasoning on them. The cod fritters appetizers were liked by everyone that ordered them. The service provided by the servers and hostess was great. They were very accommodating to our needs and committed to providing good service. We were able to enjoy this special occasion without having to feel rushed by the servers. They allowed us to relish in the moment while enjoying each other's company. I enjoyed my first visit to Fusion East minus the issue with the air conditioning unit. UPDATED REVIEW 10/21/18 (date of visit) One of my sisters decided that this would be the restaurant of her choice to host our sister brunch today. Our server Dria was absolutely fantastic and accommodating to our individual needs. My sister Tina and I decided to order the chicken and waffles entree but when our food arrived to the table, it was not hot at all. The waffles were very close to being cold and although the chicken was very tasty it was not piping hot or just hot when served. One piece of my chicken still had feathers on it..... ewwwwwwww disgusting! My sister Tina ordered the corn bread basket as her starter choice. However, when it arrived it was only two small pieces of cornbread on a plate minus the basket. We inquired about the basket and some guy seemed to think that it was funny for the menu selection to be misleading to the customers who keep you in business. To add insult to the situation, one of the cornbread pieces was hard as a rock......unbelievable. I complained about it and they made fresh cornbread for my sister. Our overall experience was great though even with the minor food glitches. I loved how they allowed us to savor the moment and enjoy our meal and each other's company without feeling rushed. I would definitely visit again because the food is good.

Yelp
The restaurant is beautiful. Very nice ambiance. The DJ is good - he played soca and reggae and he had me dancing in my seat. The food was only ok. Not the best Caribbean food I've ever had. The food was warm and not hot and the oxtail was not flavorful and the rice tasted a little bland. I'm always a little cautious about fusions and I should have gone with my instincts but my friend insisted on us going. I won't be back.

Yelp
Drinks were great. I had the rum punch and the sorrel mojito. It was a little busy they could use more bartenders due to the fact they had an even. But the food was on point

Yelp
My wife and were regular patrons of Fusion restaurant, because we lived in the neighborhood, Wednesday night 12/27/23 we ordered 2 $20.00 Jerk chicken dinners. Them came extremely burnt and so hard we couldn't chew it. I called the store that night and informed the manager we just received by uber two burnt jerk chicken dinners, his response was I very sorry about that. Next day I went in, and informed the manager that my wife and I were regularly supporterd of fusion, and about our extremely burnt/hard chicken dinners, showed him a photo and he said, in a sarcastic tone "what do u want me to do about?" I was very surprised at the non caring attitude!! No more fusion for us.

Yelp
Wow! Was going to the airport and my friends and I decided to get brunch before we go. First our server was very nice and attentive I believe her name was Mary. It was empty when we arrived due to weather but there was a plethora of people waiting for Togo orders in the back section. Their brunch is $45 it comes w drinks an entree and a starter. Me and my friend got the fruit bowls and my other friend got the plantain bites w ackee and saltfish. I'll say it was just ok. I mean it's just a bowl of fruit not much to complain about but I wasn't crazy about the plantain bites, regardless my friends loved them so! So for our entrees, I got the shrimp and grits, my friend got the chicken and red velvet waffles and my other friend got the jerk steak. And let me tell you! The way we were eating off eachothers plates! I didn't know who's entree was better! But the food did take FOREVER to come. Which I thought was strange considering we were the only table seated but I can understand with the amount of Togo orders they had coming in. The place is very big with LOTS of tables. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Delicious food Awesome Service Amazing Bartender We had the chicken and goat roti, the fusion sampler, the Fusion LIT and the Sorrel Mojito. Everything we ate did NOT disappoint! S/o to Eduardo our waiter. He was so sweet and so attentive (even though he knew his tip was guaranteed). We decided to hang at the bar and Venus was outstanding. I ordered a special drink and she placed her "razzle dazzle" on it and made it an 11/10. I told her to call it the Venus Special and add it to the menu. We had a slight hiccup with our bill but the staff went above and beyond to make things right. This place was a great vibe on a Friday night and I highly recommend.

Yelp
I started going here for lunch since they have $5 containers, of which I don't need to eat a lot since I'm busy at work and don't want to get too sleepy. I originally was going to come on here and give a great review BUT my last experience DEFINITELY changed that. I went to get a to-go order and the cashier was great. She made a revision to my order (due to her quick fingers, which wasn't an issue). The issue came in when after she told one of the cooks about the revision. After he handed her the container and I asked if he placed steamed cabbage in my container, she told him that I didn't want it. He rolled his eyes, took the container back and proceeded to remove the cabbage, of which I then said to him, "I'm sorry Sir but I cannot eat that. I have to have a new plate made". He decided to look at me, continue taking out the cabbage, almost handed it back to her and sucked his teeth. I immediately asked for a refund and while doing so, he started to make comments about me in his native accent (Jamaican), not realizing that I am one too. So let's say that the conversation and choice words I had for him neither he nor the rest of the staff was expecting. And I definitely will say that my mouth was spicier than any food product they had in the entire establishment. The manager was trying to diffuse the situation, but by then I was completely disgusted. She asked the cashier if he was going to make another plate and the cashier said yes. At this point, it wouldn't have mattered. No very much older man should be rolling his eyes and sucking his teeth at anyone, especially a customer. I was taught that you don't have anyone serve you after you get into a disagreement with them. And judging by the disgusting attitude of the cook, I'm very sure he would have spit, blew his nose, sneeze or put something in my food. I no longer trusted him. I am very well capable of cooking my native food at home. I just like to have convenience when and where possible. I am a HUGE supporter of small business, especially those from the Caribbean. I have a natural allergy and stomach upset to the cabbage. All he had to do was say sorry and make another plate. I did not come in to the restaurant begging for any free food. I was and am always a PAYING customer. All is not bad there, as I would like to add that the regular gentleman that I would conversed with (brown skinned gentleman with the glasses, who is very well spoken and a wonderful spirit to interact with), makes the ordering process a lovely event. The day before this incident, we were speaking about hip hop band The Roots. The food isn't the greatest but it is eatable and can get you through the day. So if you are going to go here, MAKE SURE YOU NOR YOUR SERVER OR YOUR CASHIER makes any errors or you return your plate back because there is a mistake....because you DEFINITELY can get food poisoned since simply removing an item from your plate is enough to make your order correct. As for me, I will eat from the other options that are available or bring my food from home. Fusion East almost had a loyal customer, but it is always one rotten apple that spoils the entire bunch.

Yelp
AMBIANCE: Place has really cool dim lighting with nice a nice blue shine. The atmosphere gives Joyful vibes FOOD/DRINKS: I love that the drinks are strong and tasty. I had the red snapper and it was traditional and tasty. They didnt forget the mighty scotch bonnet pepper. My spouse had the oxtail and loved it. Hookah had pineapple flavor which we loved. CLEANLINESS: Bathroom was clean. No tissue on the floor, No bad smell. Utensils and glassware were clean. The Mirror in the bathroom is tiny. NOISE/MUSIC: The best thing about this place is the live DJ. Music has a wide variety with reggae influence. I came here on a Wednesday evening with my partner and we were able to have a conversation and enjoy the music. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Our appetizer came after our dinner but the waitress was extremely apologetic about it. No reconciliation was offered though. At the very least, it did come hot so we appreciated it. DRESS: Comfy-Cute / Informal Note Worthy: -All tips are included. I think 18-20% -Bar is a decent size for a small place -The surrounding area outside this place looks great too! I recommend this place and would try it again

Yelp
Although the bartender was helpful I had ordered food and I sampled the items on the plate and informed them the food was cold. When the food was given back to me it still had the food I bit / sampled still on the plate. She informed me that she put the food in the microwave and I was I unsatisfied with that I think that it was very unprofessional.

Yelp
Came here on a Monday night and it was a pretty interesting night. I had heard not so good things about this place but decided to give it a try anyway. My bf and I walk in and look around no host or waiter to greet us. So we just start to walk towards a table because we assume we must have to seat ourselves. Then the bartender comes from behind the bar and seats us and hands us menus. As we are seated I notice that there is a DJ but there isn't any music playing. Then a waiter pops up saying he'll be right with us but first he has to fix the sound system for karaoke. Apparently this was the priority over serving customers. Waiter was very nice and friendly so we just tried to roll with it. We get our drink and food order ready for his eventual return. Surprisingly the food comes pretty quickly. The food was fine. Nothing amazing but not bad. Drinks arrived quickly as well. But, the drinks had to presentation to them at all. Everyone is the restaurant just looked like they were drinking different variations of fruit punch. They drinks were tasty though. And the karaoke did take place. Some people (mostly the waiter, no seriously) sang. So I'm on the fence with this place. Maybe I'll try it again.

Yelp
- Cool spot - I love that it's in the cut and away from everything - Neat for dates, and chances are your guest hasn't been here - The rum punch is strong, be aware - Background music was groovy - good ribs - codfish fritters did not disappoint

Yelp
***This review is only for happy hour*** I've been here several times with my friends for happy hour, which is from 4 - 8 pm Monday to Friday. Food and drinks are good. The bartenders and servers are very warm and friendly. Monday is karaoke night and it's really fun. I would definitely go back and maybe sing a song or 2 next time. I came here once on a Tuesday evening when a live jazz band was playing and they were so awesome! The manager informed my friend and I that a live jazz band plays there every last Tuesday of the month. Thursdays a dj comes in and plays throwbacks, which is always a plus for the music lover in me. I definitely recommend coming here for their happy hour specials and to relax after a long day at work.

Yelp
The Food is Excellent & Service is on point. My Server Young Lady by the name of Shaneeka is my favorite she has a knowledge of the menu and all items. Fusion is a East New York Hidden Jewel. Fusion also offer a phenomenal $5 Menu.

Yelp
Ate here with a friend on a Friday evening before going to a function at church. It wasn't busy at all that night, so we were greeted and seated promptly. I ordered boneless curry chicken with rice, which I thought was really good. It was my first time having boneless curry chicken and honestly I don't think I'd want it any other way. I can def do without that bone lol. I was disappointed though because a couple of items we wanted to order were not available because they ran out. Like plantains. How you gonna run out of plantains? That is one of the main things you have to order when going to a Caribbean restaurant. It's my absolute fav! I needed that bit of sweetness in every other bite with the savory curry chicken and I didn't have that. We did order dessert to go -- carrot and red velvet cake. That was good. I guess I got my sweet with that. Would return for a second try. Hopefully I can get that item my meal was missing the first go round. Let's hope it's worth it too!

Yelp
Been here a few times and I love this place. Food is good. Drinks are STRONG! Definitely not watered down at all. The staff was really warm, welcoming & friendly. They have a DJ that plays music which is cool too. Manager was very accommodating when my friend thought her jerk chicken was too spicy and promptly switched it for another order. I live close by so I'll definitely be going back. :)

Yelp
I've been here twice and the second time was far better than the first , food wise! Customer service was phenomenal both times! Went on a Wednesday afternoon (day before Thanksgiving) and the restaurant only had a few guests and some at the bar. Found on street parking right in front of the restaurant with no problem. Last time we went was for my cousin's graduation and they gave us 2 Free bottles of sparkling wine which was wonderful - This time I was in more of an intimate one on one situation and Fusion was perfect for that. Quiet, "in the cut" and with a host of attentive staff. I ordered the Brown stew chicken and my friend ordered fried chicken with Mac and cheese. Both were great - we kind of shared plates so we could eat a bit of both. I was definitely happy with the food and service here, will return soon. Also we got a few different drinks, They were all good! I've posted some pictures. If ordering drinks ask the staff member that is waiting on you what they recommend! That's what I did and I wasn't disappointed!

Yelp
No matter how many times we've given this place a try, they always seem to disappoint. When the staff is rude, sarcastic, and fail to be respectful and courteous, it doesn't even matter what the food tastes like. The locals will probably continue to come because of a lack of competition and not knowing better. It is absolutely ashame. Who is really in charge of this place?

Yelp
I'm adding this review to my Yelp Hall of Bad Food list. This establishment was an ultimate disappointment. I gave this place three highly paid visits. Each time, the food quality just got worse. The drinks were somewhat poorly made; either there was an unbalanced mixture between the ingredients or the liquor quality was poor. I suspected the staff used Georgi vodka for their cocktails and watered down champagne for their mimosas. Totally unacceptable. Service was a joke. The staff was nice BUT they were forgetful and slow as molasses. I mean, each time, I didn't see a crowd of people so I expected alittle bit of speed in service but nah. The last visit, they forgot my mother's meal (ackee and fish) and when she got it, it was extremely salty. My sister was going to flag down the waiter so he can take it back but my mom didn't want issues. I think the only decent dish was the steamed snapper and rice and peas. My family tried the fish and they said it was good. My sister's curry chicken was very cold. She suspected that the chicken was made a few days ago and they just warmed it. No bueno. Same thing with the kiddies' waffles. It was hard as brick. I made waffles before with a waffle maker and usually after three days, it's not that fresh so the waffles were made probably over a week ago. This place need a total revamp.

Yelp
Wanted Sunday dinner but I didn't feel like cooking so I stepped into Fusions. It's in the neighborhood and I been meaning to check it out. I had Oxtails, rice & peas with collard greens. Everything was yummy. The Oxtails were falling off the bone that meat was so tender. The greens were seasoned well and not tough at all. They gave me extra gravy with no problem. If you frequent Jamaica Restaurants you know what a pleasure that is. LOL My waiter was very attentive and checked on me often. The music was a little to loud for a Sunday afternoon for me but it was a great selection. I'll be back.

Yelp

Yelp
Went in today to meet up with family, i live across the street and first time i went here i had a terrible experience decided to try them again sad to say this experience was worst than the first time ... today temperature in Brooklyn was 16 degrees and it was exactly 16 degrees in this restaurant every one had there coats still on how is this suppose to be a cozy comfortable restaurant if it's freezing in here , we ordered our food and had to wait 2 hours you read right 2 hours in a cold restaurant for them to tell me they never put in my food order . Although the manager gave us a shot and drink on him (free drinks were terrible) this restaurant was the worst don't recommend and definitely will not go back and yes i told the manager i was going to write a review.
