G&S Pork Store - Review - Sheepshead Bay - New York - The Infatuation

"G&S Pork Store is a quiet butcher shop in Sheepshead Bay where you can get a massive thinly sliced roast beef sandwich with melted mozzarella and gravy. Say yes to salt and pepper on that, and keep this place in mind the next time you’re headed to Coney Island and wondering what you’ll eat on the beach. You can also pick up some meat for dinner, and browse the shelves for dried pasta, balsamic glaze and canned cranberry sauce. Everywhere you turn, there’s an impressive number of pigs. The sign out front has a pig in a bowtie holding some sausage links—don’t think too hard about that one—and above the refrigerator, a pig figurine wearing pearls and a ConEd hat. photo credit: Willa Moore Food Rundown photo credit: Willa Moore Roast Beef If you like a sandwich with a lot of bells (mayo) and whistles (pickled elements), this might not be the sandwich for you. But if you’re looking for a fat stack of hot, thinly sliced beef that only needs a sprinkle of salt to shine, you’ll be more than satisfied here. photo credit: Willa Moore Italian The tomato and lettuce in this simple Italian combo pair well with the meatiness of the roast beef. If you’re open to two sandwiches, make this your second." - Willa Moore

Battle of the Roast Beef Sandwiches in Brooklyn - Eater NY

"Okay, I’ve been holding out on you. There is another species of Brooklyn roast beef that takes the form of a hero sandwich topped with fresh mozzarella and soaked with brown gravy, one that may be acquired at delis or Italian salumerias, a dozen or so of which I know about. In fact, G&S Pork Store is only three blocks west of Brennan and Carr on Avenue U, where for $15, you can get a roast beef sandwich of amazing length that most diners would find impossible to finish. The mozzarella is squeaky fresh, the beef caramelized around the edges, and the roll perfect for its purpose: Consider this a third option." - Robert Sietsema

I’ve been coming to G & S my whole life—this place is Brooklyn. Martino, the next-generation proprietor, is keeping the tradition alive in a time when old-school pork stores are disappearing. He’s not just running a butcher shop—he’s doing a public service. Everything here is classic, high-quality, and hand-trimmed. Whether you’re shopping for holiday roasts, ready-to-go cooked meals, or just grabbing one of the best sandwiches in Brooklyn, G & S delivers. It’s a true ma and pa shop, not some sterile corporate chain—and that’s exactly the point. If you’re reading negative reviews, know this: most of those folks are new transplants who don’t understand what a real Brooklyn pork store is. G & S isn’t here to serve up Instagram vibes—it’s here to serve the neighborhood. And it’s been doing that beautifully for decades. It’s clean and the food is high quality without trying to upcharge or rip us off. He cares about sheepshead bay! Support this place. Places like this matter

Google
The MOST authentic Italian fish salad I’ve had outside of my families personal recipe! That alone will keep me coming back. The Italian Hero is absolutely massive and packed full of fresh cut meats that’ll easily fill two people. I will be back!

I used to love this place but the quality has really gone downhill. I grew up 2 blocks from there and the meats and salads were great. Moved from area and now when I'm in the area stop to bring things home. Twice in the last 6 months I have bought food from there that was spoiled by the next morning and it's not a long drive 3 exits on the Belt. Will not stop again.

Google
I love going to G&S. First, the smell is heavenly. The staff is super-friendly and the meat is top-notch. Haven't had a chance to eat a lot of the prepared food, but I've chatted with other customers who really like it. Their seafood salad is the absolute best. Christmas for my family always starts with a trip to the pork store to pick up sausage, bracciol, and the fixings to make lasagna. If you want to go to an old-school butcher shop, this is the place. I try to go as often as I can.

Google
They have just earned a life long customer. So warm and friendly the staff are. The roasted chicken and salads were great 👌 tasted almost like my Grandmother made them. I will come here even if I moved.😊

Yelp
One of the best hot roast beef with mozz and gravy heros in all of Brooklyn. It's perfectly made and super delicious. Very large too! The guy running the place is really nice as well. Overall, just great! Can't wait to go there again.

R G.

Yelp
Absolutely phenomenal hot roast beef hero with fresh mozz, gravy and a little salt and black pepper at this old school Brooklyn pork store. Paired up with an ice cold Manhattan Special, it's a great example of a total Brooklyn classic that just does not exist anywhere else. Perfectly made, nicely seasoned, done rare and very large! Nice Italian bread too and it could not be more delicious. Roast beef so good it makes your teeth tingle! Really friendly guy working there too. I could not be happier with this bangin' roast beef hero! Get it and you'll agree.

Yelp
I've lived in this neighborhood for over 45-years and just today my wife treated me to an Italian hero from G&S. Osnap! It was delicious, huge (13" long) and packed just right. Me Amigo took care of me today. Italian hero with everything, like it used to be. Thank you.
google avatar

Adam G.

Yelp
Solid little Italian deli. Good, very reasonably priced heroes. $10 for a normal sized sub, $15 for a super large. Very nice guys at the counter, looks like they butcher on premise so you've got steaks, sausages etc in addition to the meats and cheeses, olives, etc.

Yelp
I decided to drive over to ave. U to the fruit store. I parked and noticed G&S pork store. It's small and I never noticed it before. I decided to go in to see what they have. Glad I did, I was pleasantly surprised! They have prepared meals, like spaghetti and meatballs, chicken Marsala, they have rice balls small and large filled with meat and peas, prosciutto balls too. Their stuffed mushrooms looked like mine so I bought some of those too. They also had sliced fried eggplant and zucchini. Everything looks good! They have fresh meat and sausage too. I had a sandwich made, my favorite roast beef on a roll with potato salad on top with pepper and mustard. The roll was sooo good, light and airy with a nice crisp, the roast beef was perfectly rare/medium. Oh they get ravioli's from Dairy Maid which are very good. Plus salads and antipasto items. Everyone who walked in was greeted by their name. Very nice people and I'll definitely come by again

Yelp
We came here to grab a sandwich on our way to the salt marsh trail. First you go in all the way back and you'll see people waiting, these people may have ordered or waiting to order. You wait for someone to say "who's next" so keep track on who came in first and after you. I ordered a large Italian hero with everything. Oh boy, did they deliver everything in that huge sandwich. I only ordered one large hero and it fed my husband and I for lunch. We couldn't even finish it. There was so much cut meat in there. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining; I was in heaven. Also got the prosciutto and spinach balls to try. I would recommend getting the prosciutto ball and they do heat it up for you if you'd like. Prices are based on cash. If you use your credit card, they charge extra 3%.
google avatar

Beril E.

Yelp
10 bucks gets you a heck of a large hero that is the size of an arm. This old butcher and sandwich shop not only has amazing deli meat cuts and freshly hand made mozzarella that comes to life on the premises, but also vast and extremely filling sandwiches. Their prosciutto and ricotta balls are crazy cheap and tasty. If you're thinking of ordering appetizers for an event, consider getting these balls for $1 a pop. They do catering if you want to order for your event in advance! They may run out of bread for your sandwich if you come closer to their closing time, which unfortunately is as early as 6pm. We came here on a Saturday when they were out of bread, so came back on Sunday just to try their famous Italian hero, which was totally worth the decision. With salami, ham, pepperoni, sweet soppressata, and prosciutto, that hero was abundant in meat. Oh, FYI, a hero from here is enough for 2 extremely hungry people.

Yelp
Hungry? Or just want a delicious sandwich run to G & S. My husband and his family have been going here for years but my first time. I was not disappointed, walking in is definitely a nod to an era where customer service meant all the workers know your name and your family. It's a no frills store but filled with delicious goodies. This visit we got a few sandwiches for lunch and as a first timer I fell in love. The roast beef and mozzarella are made in house which is clearly evident in the taste. We got the roast beef and a spicy Italian hero. Soooo tasty!! A visit is a must and I can't wait to go back. The staff is excellent as Eddie has committed to serving his community.

Yelp
I have come to this pork store and each time it's like I am a kid in the candy store! I always leave with at least 2 bags of quality food and meat. Their marinated mushrooms are amazing! Also their other anti pastas are very good like their olives and meat/cheese sides. I Iove their chicken cutlets. The chicken is cleaned and cut with care and the quality is fresh. My cutlets are distinctively different when I use their chicken cutlets compared to grocery store bought. I have also purchased their sausage wheels and rib eye steaks. Everything is or quality and the gentlemen who work their always take good care of me. Very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this pork store if you are in the area and enjoy italian style spreads, quality meat and good service!

Yelp
This deli in Brooklyn makes the best Italian sub I ever had. Not only do they stack up each sandwich with layers of meats and cheese, but the quality of the meats are amazing. The Italian Hero was the best sandwich. Loved the mozzarella and red peppers on it as well. Ordering a full size sandwich easily feeds 2 people and you will both be stuffed afterwards. Tried their chicken cutlet sandwich too, and that was also great. Bought 2 of these sandwiches with my girlfriend early in the day, and this was our lunch and dinner, as that is how much food each sandwich is equivalent too. Nice little gem spot right here for fresh deli meat sandwiches!!

Yelp
Pandemic 2020 review G&S is open for business! I called in my order and they called me back when it was ready for pickup the same day. The butcher is excellent, I picked up enough meat to last a few weeks. Dry aged beef, pork chops, fresh sausage made daily, chicken parts. (I debone mine and freeze them till I am ready to make chicken stock.) I also picked some really fresh cold cuts, tender roast beef and turkey are delicious and sliced super thin. I also picked up some pasta, which will go great with that hot sausage and some brocoli rabe. So with one phone call I was able to do all my meet shopping for the week and I wound up getting exactly what I wanted while limiting my exposure to the virus, since I spent only a few minutes in the store as opposed to shopping around a crowded supermarket. Highly recomend this fine establishment and I will be back, because the rice balls on display looked tremendous.
google avatar

Yelp
Whoa. What a great sandwich. I got the Italian combo. All the meat are made in house. The sandwich is about 14" long so is more then enough for two people. It's also stuffed with meat. The best thing is its only $10. A barging these days. The only thing is the meats was just a bit too salty for my liking but nonetheless delicious.
google avatar

Krista A.

Yelp
Not sure how I just discovered this place but so glad I did! Everything looks delicious! It's a legit Italian pork store. I only ordered a sandwich and some chicken skewers for the BBQ, and have yet to have those, but the sandwich was so good and on a small twisted semolina (the best) hero. I plan on going here once a week from here on out! Highly recommend.

Yelp
What does G & S stand for? Genuine & Spectacular: maybe so. The food here is very authentic Italian grocery store food, including amazing Prosciutto Balls and fantastic, enormous sandwiches. What to get: Prosciutto Balls, Sandwiches, Anything. What else: Yes sir, I can boogie. Garland says: I'm glad Gilbert & Sullivan opened this place. A lovely little Italian store that were always lovely to me and my girlfriend and extremely underrated, too. Right by the Verrazano Narrows Bridge. I know it's "narrow-minded" for me to say this is the best Italian deli in town, but it's right up there. Gamey & Suspect: definitely not. They don't sell all of the weird meats that New Yorkers seem to be into these days. They're all about the traditional Italian goodies. Do yourself a favor. Try their dirt cheap Prosciutto Balls and get yourself a sandwich here. It's some of the best stuff you'll eat in Brooklyn. Absolutely wonderful delicious eats. Golden & Showers: I would hope not. But honestly, if your balls (I mean Prosciutto Balls) are this delicious, then I don't mind what you do with them. Yes, even that. Just not on me, please. Some people like that. I'm not really into it.

Yelp
I've been living in this area close to a decade and never realize what I've been walking past. This deli is a hidden gem and everyone needs to know about it. It is the house of cured meats. The mecca of those who turn their profession of curating meats into a passion. I finally decided to try this place when i was looking through yelp for a good sandwich (ironic). Here is why i am so grateful for all the fellow yelpers. Without them i would have never came here. With all the great reviews, i knew I had to try G&S. I came here to order their classic italian hero (large $10 Small $7). This hero is huge. The sandwich is packed with a great mess of different cured meats from salami to ham to mortadella. Every slice of meat was perfection, none too salty and all had great flavor. Topped with fresh mozzerella and balsamic vinegar; this sandwich has me hooked. Aside from the heros and meats, this deli also makes some great spinach and prosciutto balls. G&S is a classic italian deli housing individuals who have perfected their crafts. If you find yourself in the neighborhood you MUST come visit and if you are traveling to this little bland area of Brooklyn come to G&S so that it can add some color to your experience.

Yelp
Made my sandwich with no gloves then handled my cash. Told him I can't eat that, we are in a pandemic and you don't have gloves and handle cash? He said I use hand sanitizer after I touch money. Really? So I get hand sanitizer with lettuce on top? No thanks. Refunded and walked out!

Yelp
My family and I have been coming here for YEARS and it wouldn't be a Sunday morning if one of us weren't waiting on line to get cold cuts, salads, or other daily specials to tie us over for the week. Eddie and his staff are wonderful at what they do; it's not easy making a sandwich look so seductive and tantalizing that you'd rather eat it on the way home then wait until later. Ask to have your cold cuts thin and you know what? They do it! Ask them to let you know how fresh the veal is? They give you that look that says, "I made it with my blood, sweat, and tears; do you want three?" Ask them to let you try that new oven gold turkey? They cut you a piece! Sandwiches are LOADED with anything you'd like! Our family staples are: - eggplant, roasted peppers, and fresh mozzarella on a roll - chicken cutlet with roasted peppers, fresh mozzarella on a roll or the latest vegetarian craze that my Mom invented: -mozzarella cheese with lettuce, tomato, onions, and balsamic vinegar...amazing! Come just to press your face against the salad window and try a little of everything; it was made with love and tenderness!

Yelp
UPDATE: JUNE 15, 2019. IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN- JUST GO. HAD A DELICIOUS EGGPLANT WITH FRESH MOZZARELLA AND BALSAMIC VINEGAR. UNREAL. You cannot beat this place for quality of product, courteous staff and immense integrity. It's an oasis in a desert. Over the years I have ordered meat. Always fresh and top quality. The establishment also has prepared foods everyday. If you work in the area it is a must to try at least one thing. I love the stuffed mushrooms and broccoli rappe. Not sure if they make these items everyday. Prices are good. The establishment is narrow and can get crowded, but my personal opinion is that the client base is large and waiting comes with the territory upon occasions because of their great reputation.

Yelp
I love this place and always stop here for a sandwich and antipasti on the way to Riis beach. The staff are friendly, prices are good, and everything tastes just as it should. There are always small handmade treats in the window like fried zucchini and stuffed mushrooms.

Yelp
Just picked up a large size Italian hero. Thing is larger than my arm. Loaded with 4 types of meat, fresh mozzarella and peppers. Simply delicious. Will definitely come back again for more.

Yelp
I love this place! The Italian hero is huuuge and has every single meat possible with the best mozzarella cheese on earth! For $10, I would buy it over and over again if it weren't for the calories! The workers there are very friendly. Just be prepared to wait a little for heaven in your mouth!

Yelp
I'm pleasantly surprised that I didn't find G & S Salumeria Pork Store earlier, despite having lived in my current area for 20 years! There aren't enough good things I can say about this establishment. For starters, this place provides all the essential items one would need when seeking to make a fine Italian Meal. G & S Salumeria provides the following specialty food items... 1) Bone in Dry Aged Steak - Porterhouse, Ribeye, and Sirloin 2) San Marzano Canned Tomatoes 3) Imported Italian Pasta - Spaghetti, Linguine, Fusili, Bucatini, etc... 4) Cured Meats - Pancetta, Speck, Proscuitto di Parma, Soppresatta, etc... 5) Cheeses - Homemade Fresh Mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, etc... 6) Food Catering - Hot Meatball Plates, Meat / Seafood Salad, 6 Foot Long Sandwiches, etc... And much more! The customer service is extremely friendly with detailed attention to your cooking needs. Briefly describe what your intent is for a specific meal and the guys behind the counter will suggest all of the elements required to create the exact dish described. Here's a quality review of the items purchased during prior visits... Porterhouse Steak (28oz): The Porterhouse had a pleasant shade of pink to denote perfect quality and integrity of the meat. In addition, the abundance of marbling throughout the steak was evidence of the USDA Prime label given to this cut of meat. The Porterhouse was prepared using an 800 degree broiler for 6 minutes on each side, with no seasoning or sauce. At first bite, it was evident that the dry aging process and abundance of marbling gave the Porterhouse the perfect balance of fat and protein required for a great piece of steak. Fresh Mozzarella: I found the cheese to lack the proper firmness that's evident in well pressed Fresh Mozzarella. When cutting into the cheese, it was evident that the water distribution within the cheese was overly present. Nevertheless, after slicing, draining, and layering with paper towels, the cheese was ready for consumption. The taste of the Fresh Mozzarella was very much appealing. Although Di Palo's and D. Colucci's & Sons creates a far more superior product, the Fresh Mozzarella of G & S was surprisingly welcoming and provided the perfect texture of what's required in a Fresh Mozzarella. The clean / fresh taste of the cheese is better than any that can be obtained within a 2 mile radius. Proscuitto di Parma: Needless to say, the storage quality of this meat is integral to the taste of the product. The Proscuitto is stored in a temperature controlled environment (along with other refrigerated cured meats) to preserve the composition of the meat. The taste of the Proscuitto was as expected. A nice balance of fat as well as a slight firmness is the essence in the body of a good Proscuitto. In addition, the salt used in the curing process did not hinder the balance and integrity of the product. It is without any doubt that I'll be visiting G & S Salumeria more often during my next Italian Meal Creation. After all, a hike to Manhattan takes about 45 minutes, but a walk to G & S... A good 5 minutes at most.

Yelp
Amazing food, extremely friendly staff! The sandwiches are delicious and great priced, and the store is clean and nicely decorated. All of their food is fresh and tasteful- prepared exactly as ordered! Lovely place overall- will definitely shop there again!

Yelp
I found out about G&S in one of Yelp's features on best subs in Brooklyn. I'd found a couple of other places, but they are difficult to get to from Ditmas Park. G&S is a short bike ride East of the Q at Avenue U. The reviews and pictures looked great, so I tried them out. Two Italians, spinach balls, cole slaw and a big pickle. Fantastic subs and sides. Loaded to the gills and well-accompanied, all economically priced. I have to go back for the broccoli rabe sausage soon. The staff was very friendly, including both Eddies, the owner and the chef. G&S is a traditional neighborhood establishment I look forward to patronizing. Nothing like a great sub with football.
google avatar

Ana A.

Yelp
I ordered the 3 foot Italian hero and I was very very impressed. The sandwich had so many delicious sliced meats, cheese , sweet peppers and i think some type of vinaigrette which made the bread soggy and delicious. It was so satisfying, everyone at my gathering loved it, they all had seconds and i still have some left in my fridge. The quality was pretty great and it came with some sides and eating utensils, highly recommended sandwich!

Yelp
Awesome neighborhood place, everything looks fresh and tastes delicious. Super reasonable cold cut and meat specials. Delicious sandwiches and rice balls. Friendly service, clean, great little spot for meats and cheeses and other Italian delicacies.

Yelp
As I walk in with my girlfriend, I saw nothing but cheesy, meaty goodness. My girlfriend lives in the area and I live in Long Island but she and I have never been inside this place until now. The lineup of different meat and cheeses makes your mouth water while you walk along the narrow length of the store. They sold heroes, rice balls, fried steak, stuff mushroom, all the stuff that you can picture in your mind and make yourself drool. We ordered a classic Italian hero with everything on it and it was AMAZING. Oh and you always wanna order with "everything on it" because when you go for "everything on it", you'll feel all of it when the friendly staff gives you your order because when I picked up HALF of my hero, the weight of the several slices of meat that they put in there with the cheese and the veggies was pushing down on my hand. It's really tightly packed together and it tastes just as good as it looks. I like the vinegary aftertaste after each bite and the meat was spectacular! Other than the hero we ordered a potato croquette, a ricotta ball and a spinach ball and they were all delicious! My only complaint is that they do feel a little dry and could use some sort of sauce but then again the solution was probably on sale behind us because they also sell a lot of sauces! Would definitely recommend this store to my friends, 10/10!

Yelp
Looking for an authentic Italian deli in Brooklyn? This is the place! Everything is fresh. The staff is super friendly as well. Another bonus? They have pork products and are open on Saturdays!!

Yelp
Rice balls are amazing. Huge, excellent sandwiches, friendly service. Never come to this area without enjoying a nice lunch here!

Yelp
The staff is always accommodating and if you're not sure which product to buy, they're willing to give you a piece to try. I would give them 5 stars, but I ordered a prosciutto ball once and found a piece of blue plastic inside ... Gross!!!

Yelp
This place is a must-try for anyone who wants good, old-fashioned service. I cannot say enough nice things about this establishment. The food is always fresh and top quality. Their hot food tastes as if you made it yourself. They make great sandwiches. Their heroes and salads are fantastic! I had a 6-foot hero and salads catered to my house and everyone raved about all of it. It came with everything we needed and the delivery was right on time. Their fresh mozzarella and mozzarella balls are a real treat, but go early because they go fast! I also find their prices to be very reasonable. The service is great. The workers are the best - they are all very helpful and extremely polite (kudos to Eddie and Martino!).

Yelp
Meat Meat and more meat. I love this place I come here for all my meat needs. The guys there are always friendly and helpful. I go in for one or two things, but always leave with four or five different cuts of meat. The meats are always fresh and always good. The only problem lies in how much you can eat. They also do deli sandwiches right, with lots of quality cold cut meats and vegies the way you want it. Be prepared to wait on line if you come during their busy time but the wait is always well worth it.

Samantha L.

Yelp
Probably the only butcher shop I will ever use in my life. If I ever leave New York, I will have to pay extra for refrigerated FedEx air-delivery or something, because I really don't think I'll be able to find better quality products anywhere. Seriously, it is dangerous to my waistline and LDL levels that I live so close to this place,. Every time I walk in, it takes all my will power not to buy everything in sight and start munching on it right then and there. I primarily come for their INCREDIBLE, PRIME steaks when I need to prepare something special. Believe me, even if they do not tell you they sell prime meat, you'd be able to tell the difference, just on sight. The steaks I buy are always a deep, vibrant, fresh, red color, with abundant marbling. The first time I cooked steaks from here, my family could not shut up about how wonderful the flavor was, after waking up from their food comas, that is. We are not a big fan of cold cuts at home, so I have never purchased any from them, but they do offer many quality products at very attractive prices. They advertise a few cold cut packages, which includes a variety of sliced cheese and meats, enough to feed a family of four for DAYS, at prices I really cannot believe. We have tried their incredible heroes once or twice. Let me tell you... one sandwich is enough to cover two meals for one person. They REALLY cram the bread full of goodies, and drizzle it with delicious olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The endless trays of antipasti, prosciutto balls, prepared vegetables, broccoli rabe, pinwheels, chicken cutlets... my lord! The list goes on and on. I have not yet tried anything besides their green beans almondine (which were amazing!) but, am looking forward to my next trip to try more of their goodies! Besides the quality products, they have an incredible, warm staff. Honestly, it just brightens my day when I step into this store. The staff is welcoming, very experienced, and very knowledgeable. They love their jobs, they love feeding people and making them happy. They are happy to answer any questions you have, and offer any advice in selecting and preparing your meal. They are happy to take orders in advance over the phone, and are always kind and courteous. Just today, I pre-ordered a center cut tenderloin to be picked up the day before Thanksgiving. They are trimming it and tying it up, at no extra charge. I'm actually afraid to post the price quote they gave me for this gorgeous piece of meat, because I'm sure people will think I'm lying about how little it will cost me!! Guys, really, thank you, for making me and my family so happy. =)

I kind of wish I lived here. We rode down from lefferts gardens to try out some sandwiches. Best roast beef ever. Their heroes are huge and a large could easily feed 2 people. The sesame baguette was amazing as well. We also tried a spinach and prosciutto ball which were both delicious- they warmed them up. Reasonable prices. The guy was so nice who helped us as well. Only wish I was Italian so I could know what everything is or have someone explain what I should try. Want to go back. If i had a car/lived closer I would def use this place as my butcher.

Yelp
Wow. Do Manhattan dwellers ever consider going to Brooklyn to do their weekly grocery shopping? Because after a chance encounter with G&S, I am. Yes I'm a fanatical carnivore, so I was basically sold as soon as I saw the words "Pork Store," (ana asif/ani mitzta'er, my Muslim/Jewish compatriots) but this place is much more than a paradise of prosciutto. I came in hoping to have a quick lunch, and instead, I had an amazing hero and wasted twenty minutes eating the rest of the place with my eyes. Damn my love of cooking Italian food, damn it to hell. I'll be back: you can't escape my pan forever, gorgeously marbled ribeye.

Yelp
What to say about This place? Their cuts of meat are out of this world good. I got the filet mignon, bought it home, threw it on the grill, and it was most likely the most buttery delicious steak I've ever had. I would definitely come back here!

Yelp
Very friendly owner and extremely helpful. Bought some dry-aged ribeye for $16/lbs. Can't wait to try it!

Yelp
I married into an Italian family, and then found this place. The staff is great - quick - professional and friendly...love the way they slice the meats so deli-thin! Dried sausages are fantastic! Rice balls are so creamy and good. The owner has always had time to answer questions and help me decide what to order. I don't have anything bad to say about this place...except that the wait on-line can be a while.

Yelp
This is the only butcher that I will ever use. They know you by name and know exactly what you like and how you like it. Everything is always fresh and top notch. The cold cuts are amazing and their sandwiches and prepared salads and dishes are delish. I could go on all day about how amazing they are. Really your old school neighborhood pork store with the highest quality products ever!!!!!

Yelp
maryann r. My family and I used this wonderful place for a few family gatherings. We were thrilled!! The Italian hero is FILLED with fresh, delicious Italian cold cuts of all kinds. We had platters of Chicken Marsala which was moist and very flavorful, heavenly ravioli, and exceptional eggplant parmagianna. The hero comes with generous sides of potato salad, cole slaw, and macaroni salad. All the paper goods are included too! And also fresh, wonderful loaves of Italian bread!! It was a pleasure dealing with Eddie and his staff. They are all very friendly and extremely accommodating. I highly recommend G&S Pork Store. I am so happy I live so nearby.

Yelp
The employees handle food with their bare hands and do not wear hats. The proprietor cheats his customers.

Yelp
Tried this place for the first time today. I had unexpected company and it was way too hot to cook, and this place was a lifesaver. Pros: *They will make a 2 foot hero. Most places will make only a 3 or 6ft. and depending on the size of your group 3 ft. might be too much. *They deliver! *They were willing to take a last minute hero offer the same day. *Good food. We had the Italian hero which had prociutto, ham, mortadella, salami, pepperoni and cheese with lettuce and tomato, oil and vinegar. Excellent tasting and nicely sliced and displayed on a covered aluminum tray. We also ordered chickpea salad, tortellini salad and antipasto salad (these were solid but nothing spectacular, I still miss the amazing pasta salads from the now closed Tre Fratelli). Overall the food was tasty. *They were right on time when I requested a 1pm delivery and they called just before they arrived. *Very affordable. We had tons and tons of food for $50. This wasn't really a "con" for me because I had this delivered to my home but if you are having things delivered to your workplace be aware that they do not provide plastic cutlery as some delis do. Overall I was quite pleased with the food and service and will definitely patronize them again. They have fresh meats, steaks and such and I can't wait to try them. I hope this place can survive, with Tre Fratelli and Vito's Bakery closing I wonder if there is any demand for Italian foods in this area anymore.

Yelp
This is hands-down the best sandwich I have ever had. These guys know way they are doing. And their pinwheel sausage is my ticket to "cooking" for the carnivores in my family. Friendly service, quality food. They are the best!
