Yelp
Finally had the opportunity to try our new local Gabi (sorry can't find the umlaut) that opened recently in Inspirada. Inspirada is growing out it's culinary options quickly and given the growth in the area, not to mention the incoming Inspirada Station, it's an exciting time for that community.
As for Gabi, I've been aware of their Chinatown location for some time, and they've now expanded to Henderson (on Stephanie) and Inspirada. I've looked at their unbelievably gorgeous pastries from afar (well, from Yelp! really) for so long that I felt familiar with them walking in for the first time...and I was not disappointed.
The pastries, donuts (both Mochi and regular) were undeniably some of the most beautiful creations I've seen in quite some time. Very impressive. They also have a wonderful large decorated patio area that is going to absolutely rock when we get some warmer weather again. The inside is cute and comfy, but only has a handful of tables so keep that in mind as you plan.
We ordered a handful of breakfast sandwiches (egg, sausage, cheese, arugula, chipotle sauce) that used breadcrumb coated donuts as their bun (neat!). The sandwich was typical for breakfast fare, but the donut bun was a super nice touch. Not sweet, just fluffy. For a few dollars more, we got the "combo" which came with a very filling yummy potato cheese chowder and for a cold November day, it hit the spot.
We also tried their Ube mochi donut, their chocolate pudding donut, their creme brulee donut, and a slice of Ube cheesecake. They were very good, but on the Las Vegas dessert space-time continuum where Humboldt Bakery (ugh, I'm so sad they moved out of town) was a 10 and 7-11 donuts are a 1, this was probably a 7 or 8, mostly for style, slightly less for flavor and value.
It should be noted that 3 breakfast sandwich combos ($11 each), 3 soft drinks, and 3 pastries (the mochi donut was free for checking in at Yelp! so bring your app!) ended up being about $60 before tip. I can't say whether that's a good value for you or not as I don't know what $60 means to you but it felt a bit spendy to us.
In any event, thrilled to have Gabi local to where we are and will definitely head back. I can see this being a perfect choice for us when we visit folks and want to have some impressively beautiful pastries to show up with.
