"Any artist shown at this particular Gagosian has to compete with the clean, sleek architecture of this four-room space. Its opening parties are particularly wonderful. "

Amazing gallery to see art. The space is open with great light. Interesting history of the gallery and its founder Larry Gagosian. I did not know about this gallery until a relative from out of town wanted to go while visiting us. We say a great Jean-Michael Basquiat exhibit.

Google
Gagosian Gallery is a gallery I’ve been visiting for nearly 25 years. This time I can to see Basquiat’s LA works. They were amazing profound and challenging mentally and emotionally. The first show I saw here was Maya Lin back in the early 2000s. That too was emotional and uplifting. The beauty of this gallery is to see works all together as a statement before they separate and go onto private collections or public collections but few may be seen for a very long time.

There is a Basquiat art exhibit until June. It is one of largest I have seen. Pieces were brought in from major museums and private collections. It’s awesome!

Google
My first time here and I was very impressed. I went to see the Cy Twombly exhibit. The place is really beautiful. Very large, spacious rooms with great lighting and a unique wooden ceiling. Everything is spotlessly clean. I enjoyed speaking with the employees too. They were all very nice and friendly. I'll be back for the next exhibit!

I really enjoyed my time here at the Gagosian. I came to see Fichers piece on advertisement and it was amazing to see his work in person and his vision.

Made on Market street Jean Michel Basquiat exhibition curated from Fred Hoffman nobody has to miss.

We stopped by for Takashi Marakami, the pictures don’t give enough credit on how amazing the exhibit is . We were in awe !! We loved it. Total worth the 2 hr commute. There is parking right down from here, free one hour and $1 for additional time. There is nearby stores, coffee shops and restaurants . The girls in the front were friendly HOWEVER the security guards were very annoying! We get it you are protecting the art but be a little friendly you are getting paid to be there .

Google
Not currently my favorite show but love this place … an approachable gallery with great variety in curation / shows. Consistent quality pieces.

Yelp
Amazing art galley displaying great artwork from Jane Fonda to highlighting amazing black artists. It was a pack house with little room for movement. The artist was there to discuss their pieces and inspirations. It was a beautiful curated show. Parking is available down the street in a nearby garage, or your driver (Uber for me (o_O) can drop off and pick up at the door. Great exhibit.

Yelp
I needed information from the gallery to complete a project I am working on, and I was able to obtain it rather quickly. Many Thanks to Jerson Hondall.

Yelp
Came for Basquiat exhibition. Venue is large and spacious with a smaller second floor. Gallery has a counter off to the side usually for selling artist-related merchandise. In one of the rooms, there's a screen with audio coming through two magnetic speakers on the wall that's meant to be interactive for viewers. Specifically for the event, the line was terrible. It folded back on itself and took up the entire sidewalk. Parking was impossible around the area, but generally okay a couple blocks out. Pretty large venue, great art, okay experience.

Yelp
Neat spacious gallery located in the center of Beverly Hills. We stopped in to see the spotlight works Honor Titus Advantage In. Lovely staff, very knowledgeable. I recommend visiting if you're in the area and have some free time.

Yelp
Visited during the Derrick Adams "Come as you are" exhibition. Loved the spaciousness of this gallery. Conveniently located. Will definitely return for future exhibitions and I look forward to checking out the other locations.

Yelp
Came Friday at 3:45, the associate locked the door in front of me. When I pointed at the watch and said the closing time is 5:30, she said Labor Day. I understand if this was a small neighborhood boutique but felt unprofessional for an international gallery.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure in visiting Gagosian and I must say, it was a truly delightful experience. The gallery features an impressive collection of works.

Yelp
A thousand years old Oak tree was uprooted by a dark force even the concrete was upheaval from the crust below. In a heavy pace, I carefully stepped into and out of cracks, struggled within high and low faults; feeling uneasy, and unwilling to embark on the road of no return. "On the Eve of Never Leaving" creator Trouve composes a feeling of losing time and space. Looking far away, I saw a pillow soaked in the water, it won't get wet? Is it a cover? A closer look reveals that he used marble, granite and agate to make soft cushions and pillows. Long dipping in turbid water. It raises questions about the causes and consequences of this structural damage. The water droplets that symbolize vitality are to be attached to the roots of the dead tree. The line between the decline and the new life, growth and debris, the scene . I thought that big tree is real. It turned out to be 1:1 die casted bronze. It is best to wear flat shoes to see the exhibit and the security guard will let you approach the exhibits. I like to visit and film in the private art gallery. Because the security is more professional and courteous, let you shoot your photo. (When there is no others, a tripod may be allowed discreetly) They also often looking for buyers, so every guest is also their customer, of course, courtesy. This blasting tree is waiting for the buyer, I think it is suitable for the dark cuisine, dark culture luxury boutiques. If you don't mind the sound of dripping water running around a pool of water; you can take it home too.

Yelp
Loved Takashi Murakami exhibition! Small gallery - two floors and free entry! 2 bathrooms. Parking next door, 1hr free and you don't need that long to see all the art.

Yelp
Nice little art gallery in downtown Beverly Hills. It's quite small, but their selection is usually centered on one artist at a time. I came to see the Takashi Murakami's Gyatei2 exhibit. I've always loved his work and the pieces for this exhibit were amazing. Note: Free admission and 1 hour free parking next door. (440 N. Camden Dr)

Yelp
Super cool art gallery in the middle of Beverly Hills. Entrance is free. Came to see the Murakami & Abloh "America Too" The workers there could have been a little bit nicer when we asked questions.. Other than that I would have given 5 stars.

Yelp
The current Murakami exhibit is delightful. Renews your childlike wonder. It may be difficult to drive into Beverly Hills, but there is a parking garage with one hour free parking nearby, on the same street. There's more exhibits upstairs, and don't forget to check out the bathroom. There's art in each bathroom so take a peek if you can do so without holding up the line :-)

Yelp
This place was the cutest Pop Up! Loved the artwork involved during the Week we went, I just wish us enjoying ourselves and taking pictures wasn't such an issue being a large group. Don't forget to go upstairs too!! Pretty small spot but honestly a cute going in around LA while walking around Rodeo.

Yelp
So you want to see some modern art but the Broad says they are nice enough to let you in three months from now... That's how I felt so I scratched my itch and went to the Gagosian instead! They are currently running their 20th Anniversary Show which showcases a piece or two from some of their favorite artists. It's a first rate collection of pieces that leaves you wanting so much more, and that's a good thing. When someone gives you a chip with avocado on it, one chip with guacamole is just not enough, right? Same with this exhibit. There's Jeff Koons (more on display at The Broad). There's a mind fracking black sheep with gold horns in formaldehyde by Damien Hirst. Cy Twombly is the only repeater with a painting and drawings on display. Ed Ruscha? Roy Lichenstein? Takashi Murakami? Urs Fischer? Why yes. I last came here in 2007 for the Damien Hirst "Butterflies" show. AMAZING. One of the best shows I have ever seen anywhere. If you are in Beverly Hills and have some time to kill between shopping and eating, or maybe in better terms, "If you come to Beverly Hills to see the Gagosian, there is good shopping and eating in the area to go with..." There are two main rooms, but don't forget the third and fourth smaller viewing rooms on the 2nd floor. They always provide a list of works at the front desk. Entry is free. The Gagosian is a commercial gallery so they have outposts in New York, Paris, Rome, London, Hong Kong, Geneva, Athens. If you want to see what is hot or trending in contemporary art, the Gagosian is the place to be.

Yelp
*** An amazing space and reception for Nancy Rubins. *** I first stumbled upon a Nancy Rubins sculpture 3 weeks ago when I was at Aria Hotel Las Vegas, http://www.westvegas.com/city_center/CITY_CENTER_CANOE_ART_ARIA.jpg It is definitely eye-catching work. So when an art dealer asked me to come for Rubins opening reception here, I gladly agreed. Several guests at the reception and the gallery space itself were actually more interesting than Rubins work shown imho. (haha) This bi-level space features four rooms for exhibiting, very nice. A beautiful piece of contemporary architecture in Beverly Hills. And the guests? Well I have never seen so many Louboutins, Manolos, attractive outfits ... like an informal runway show. ;) The few conversations that I had were all very entertaining. Unfortunately, I can't say that I was impressed with the exhibit. I gotta problem with modern art that requires a story to explain its significance (if any). I'd say the narrative failed to help here. "Big Edge" at Aria Hotel speaks for itself. This exhibit does not. The graphite on paper pieces are particularly underwhelming, yet they did make a fine backdrop for a smashing reception. *** I look forward to future exhibits. It is a dreamy space. ***

Yelp
Great place!!! Now I have this place as a go-to spot for next time. Surprisingly has a big space and all the statues and ginormous artwork of Murakami fit in the space and loved every moment of it. There is public parking next door.

Yelp
Very nice gallery. Great space. They have major artists and nice opening events. Good location. If you're in the "Golden Triangle" in BH, it's an easy walk over. Convenient to stop in during a show and plenty of restaurants & cafes nearby.

Yelp
Well curated gallery! Love that they have a great range of artists. My husband and I got to Gagosian at least a few times a year. The staff was so nice and accommodating because I had to bring my stroller in. I'm glad they didn't give me a hard time. We saw the Jeff Koons exhibit and it was lovely.

Yelp
I came here for the William Eggleston exhibit featuring work from his Los Alamos. The gallery is extremely spacious and curated the work nicely. The receptionists are also very friendly. There really isn't anything negative about this gallery except that it's in the middle of Beverly Hills and the musky smell of arrogance and snobbery can be smelled for miles. Other than that, it's a winner. PARKING TIP: If you are following your GPS, it may take you to a church.. This is NOT the gallery-- the gallery is not in the church. But DO however, park where that church is then walk down towards the gallery and save yourself the hassle of trying to park in BH.

Yelp
I was here for the Franz West show. Parking is close and easy. Staff was not snobby. The exhibition space has two levels. This is a blue chip gallery so the artists in their stable are definitely not starving.
google avatar

Damon S.

Yelp
They do great work while making a pile of money. I wish more big businesses thought this way. The recent Anselm Kiefer show is better than museum quality.
google avatar

Gretchen S.

Yelp
The space is lovely but I have to question the pieces on exhibit. The William Eggleston show was clearly chosen because of the artists imminent departure from this earth which will undoubtedly double his prices. I understand that Mr. Gagosian is a businessman and I respect his abilities in that area but it sure would be refreshing to walk into an LA gallery and see some actual legitimate art. I tire of the art markets insistence on looking backwards instead of forward. Mr Eggleston's work was neither the first to use color nor the best and the fact that he was one of the first to show in a museum does not impress me in the least. Mr. Gagosian used to be a visionary who saw something in artists that others missed, now, I just find his shows to be a bit like Wal-Mart, a big brand with little quality or substance and the main spectacle is the people. Sorry. Please try again.

Yelp
Designed by Richard Meier, known for the Getty Center stunner, this bright, well-lit space features blue-chip modern and contemporary artists such as Cy Twombly, Andy Warhol, and Richard Serra.

Yelp
If you like the best of the best, take a stroll over to Gagosian Gallery. Great artists from a great enterprise!

Yelp
A leader in the contemporary art world, Gagosian Gallery is by far my favorite gallery in Los Angeles. The gallery is enormous and is architecturally stunning. The white walls serve as the perfect backdrop for any art work featured in this space. They always have wonderful shows and never disappoint.

Yelp
So much potential for this Beverly Hills location to have a good show. I've been coming here since June of 2013 and have been mostly disappointed with the roster thats shown since then. The most interesting show was probably Cecily Brown, but most of the other shows were either photo or very conceptual. Needless to say, the space is incredible and there's normally free wine. Overall a great gallery and I appreciate their support of art.

Connor M.

Yelp
Great gallery. Classy yet modern. It's hard to balance out classy art and modern, trendy, fusion art. I'll admit. I'm not one of those artistic people. I'd rather buy a work of art than walk around it. But this time it was entertaining. This is one of few galleries I don't mind walking and "aweing" at.

Nathaniel S.

Yelp
I see every exhibition here and I'm always happy with the way things look. Don't always love the artists but the staff is great and its so much different than the New York Gagosian's. Also they let me bring my dog, in Chelsea they made me leave her at the front desk. Don't miss out on their shows, get on the mailing list.

California S.

Yelp
I've been here twice. It is a big space, well put together. I would like to be able to afford one of the Ruscha paintings I looked at...Too bad they are like 15 million, Im guessing the price...but must be in the millions. This dealer had his start in LA/NY, so it's nice to see him keep a gallery here.

Stacy L.

Yelp
This place is such a gem in the middle of Beverly Hills. I was wildly surprised at how much I enjoyed it here. I'm not really into art and I mainly went just to see the James Franco Exhibit, but wow, this place is impressive. I would definitely recommend this to those visiting the vicinity. It's in a great location as well. Also, there is lots of street parking too.
