Absolutely loved our visit! The place has a warm, thoughtful vibe and the food arrived quickly, tasting incredibly fresh. One of the highlights was the fruit smoothie—no added sugar, water, or ice, just pure fruit goodness. And the glass straw? Such a simple but amazing touch. Really appreciated their focus on quality and sustainability.

Went here for the 1st time in March for coffee & breakfast with a friend. I ordered Potatoes your way with Rick's way as a sauce which was on top of them. The potatoes were sliced very thin, greasy & some over cooked which caused them to be extra crispy on the border of being burnt. I didnt care for the sauce personally either. Needed more seasoning when they were cooked because they tasted somewhat bland. Coffee wasn't very hot either. I tried a bite of my daughter's food but still same bland taste for me at least. I probably might give them another shot maybe it was an off day not sure, but the atmosphere was decent, & clean looking, staff was friendly our server Andrea B was very polite and informative on the menu & food items so I appreciated that.

Well, for my birthday I started looking for a plant based restaurant and discovered this vegetarian restaurant. I ordered the veggie stash with brown rice and roasted potatoes and the cornbread french toast. The veggie stash was delicious and I didn’t really like the cornbread french toast 😞. 1 out of 2 isn’t bad. Next time, I’m trying a homemade juice and green burrito. I say give it a try. It’s a little pricey but it’s healthy and worth it! 😋

First time here today, after talking about stopping by for so long. I regret not coming sooner! I got the grilled cheese tortilla, my fiancé got the Cuban with tempeh, and we shared a plate of chips and hummus. Everything was absolutely incredible. So thrilled that there's a spot in Creston with fantastic vegetarian and vegan options. Can't wait to come back to try more of their menu offerings!

What a great little hidden gem, the Green Goddess juice I had tasted so fresh and flavorful, the Mediterranean platter was perfect for 1 person, and the atmosphere is very relaxing. It’s great to see so many different ages enjoying the space.

The mango pineapple was the best drink. The veggie stash with red skinned potatoes was well seasoned and delicious. The Jim White didn't seem to have enough salt and I couldn't figure out if it was the salsa or black beans that were the spiciest.

Enjoyed a nice breakfast today at Gaia. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. Our party of six was seated immediate on a Saturday morning. Unpretentious, casual, warm interior. Small menu, but nice to have so many vegetarian and vegan options. Good to have the opportunity to try something different, outside the normal brunch fare. I stuck with what I normally like - eggs & potatoes plus tried a fruit cup. It was a filling portion and cooked well. The potatoes were well seasoned and crispy. I also enjoyed the sourdough bread that came with my meal. The fruit was fresh and seasonal. Coffee was self-service and offered three options, with creamer available at request. I tried the Swiss chocolate brew and liked it a lot. My friend’s specialty French toasted looked amazing. It has tender sweet sautéed apples, cherry sauce, and almonds. Everyone had to try an apple slice - they were really good! Worth your time and taste buds! Thanks for a good experience!

Unfortunately I don’t have anything good to say about Gaia house . When we were sat down there was paint bubbling near us, probably due to moisture trapped behind the paint. And then a leak above. It’s not really an appetizing sight. We were told that we wouldn’t be able to have espresso or lattes because the espresso machine was down. That’s fine. What I did take issue with was the self serve coffee station. For one, the way the glasses were stored was gross. The shelves were not clean. The cups were freshly washed. I could tell because they were wet, placed rim down. So that the dust and debris on the shelving was collected on the wet rims of the cups. And whenever you picked up a cup you could see the wet rim marked it left. These cups should be dry if you’re going to store them rim down. Drying them rim down traps the moisture inside (causing an unpleasant odor and taste), and damages the shelves, and is altogether unsanitary if the shelves aren’t even clean. Storing them rim side up would be a better option in this case . They are used often enough for collecting dust to be an argument for storing them rim side down. Sanitary conditions aside, for a vegan/vegetarian place for the only milk option to be whole milk was disappointing. Consider offering milk alternatives. The food was even more disappointing . My guest ate his omelet , but I good not stomach my food. The cornbread French toast was incredibly dry, even soaking it in the butter and syrup didn’t revive it. The potatoes tasted fine but they were stale. Since it was the only semi edible thing available to me I picked at that instead of what I ordered. I only managed to eat half of one slice of French toast and didn’t want to take it home. We came out of our way to go here after seeing it on Instagram. So it was that much more disappointing.

Yelp
I've been to Gaia several times since they reopened in the Creston neighborhood back in 2021. The vibe inside is bohemian and cozy, and the food is all vegetarian or vegan. I love going to Gaia when I feel like something healthy, so after a week of holiday indulgences I placed an online order for pick up. Online ordering was easy and I could log in to my Toast account which made paying a breeze. My order was ready at the time they said it would be. I got one of my standby dishes, the veggie stash: assorted steamed veggies, garlic, ginger, tamari, redskin potatoes or brown rice or both, topped with Michigan monterey jack cheese, scallions, and sour cream. I always get it with half brown rice and half potatoes, which is the perfect combination in my opinion. I also got the miso Caesar salad: mixed greens, tomato, Kalamata olives, parmesan cheese, toasted local bread points, miso caesar dressing. This was my first time trying this salad. Everything was packed nicely and looked delicious. Nate and I split everything and loved this meal. The veggie stash was tasty as usual, and we added a bit of hot sauce at home to round it out. I love that the veggies are all perfectly cooked and not mushy. I think I've tasted more ginger in this dish in the past, but it was still good. The salad was our favorite dish! The dressing was savory and creamy, and the toppings all worked well together. It was also a huge portion, but I was really hungry. I would definitely get this salad again, probably to split. Gaia also serves breakfast items, fresh squeezed juices and smoothies, and their famous Gaia cookies which are delicious. I love this little cafe!

Yelp
I found this gem last weekend when my vegan friend was in town. Their menu was very vegan friendly unlike some places that just serves my friend carrots and ranch The food was amazing! I had the pesto cheese omelette and my friend had the vegan ruben The atmosphere was lovely. In fact when we went to pay, we found that there was more cozy dining in the back!

Yelp
Food was AMAZING!! Perfect temp, perfect seasoning. Pro tip: get your potatoes "Rick's Way"... the vegan aioli was perfection. Bottomless coffee was only $3 and self serve... loved this because I always had a hot cup and could make it with oat milk just how I like it. I definitely recommend trying the tempeh, it's perfectly seasoned! Staff was incredibly kind and helpful, getting us everything we needed. Ps. They have every type of hot sauce that you could want. Restaurant was kinda small, perfect for a group of 2-4 but it would be kinda tight having a group bigger than that. Only complaint is that the food took 45min to come out but it was so good that I didn't really mind. I'll be back for sure!!

Yelp
The food was AMAZING, loved they have so many vegan options, also loved they marked their menus of those items that can or can't be made vegan, that was very thoughtful. We ordered vegan veggies stash and vegan EPT. Both were delicious. Very cute interior and have cozy vibes. One less star for the service, it took a while to get our order and payment process. Other than that it's perfect.

Yelp
Cutest little Creston spot for breakfast! We come here for the juicees, potato's and amazing omelettes. The Rick's way potato's are a must try. Cute interior and everything made here comes from high quality ingredients!

Yelp
I've been meaning to try Gaia House Cafe for quite some time now, however, I never was able to until recently! When walking inside, the interior is super cute! It's the perfect brunch place to go out with friends or even by yourself. They have a variety of vegetarian/vegan entrees, sides, and drinks! They also have an area for self serve coffee and water which I thought was really neat! I ordered the Gaia tempeh reuben and a lavender bliss kombucha. Both were super delicious! It was my first time having tempeh, and I definitely wasn't disappointed. The only thing was that it was a bit too salty, but nonetheless, still very good! It definitely went well with the kombucha! I definitely want to come back to try their other options and their fresh juices!

Yelp
I truly hate give this place a 2 star review because I love the food, and the vibe here, but when I come in for lunch, and there are eight in the entire restaurant when I arrive, it is completely unacceptable to wait for an hour to have food arrive. I have worked in many restaurants over the year, and I know things can get hectic and busy, but to make a vegetarian meal for one, should not take anywhere near an hour. This is not my first time receiving more than slow service and food, (and it's not even really service as you have to get your own water and coffee, and coffee pot was out for over 20 minutes. On the plus side, the food is great, and so is the vibe. If you have time to hang out for a couple hours, a great place to go, but if short on time, you should move on.

Yelp
Went here for brunch with my sister and it was a lil hidden gem on a snowy day. The location is adorable and perfect for a girl's day brunch. They have vegetarian options. We ordered an omelette and since we are both GF, they replaced the toast option with potatoes that were delicious. We also ordered their juices. I got the mango one and she got the green one. To be honest, the mango one was not my favorite and my sister didn't like the green one, so we switched and we liked the choices we made lol Overall, it's a very cute location and I would definitely come here to have something warm to drink and a book to read in those little comfy nooks they have in their couch.

Yelp
It's a lovely place with a down to earth vibe. It was a long wait for our food, but well worth it. We ate the Cornbread french toast and the special omelette. Solid and hearty. It's great to find a true vegetarian/ vegan restaurant.

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place forever; I'm glad I was finally able to make it happen! The inside is adorable and very casual. Guests can get water and coffee from a self serve station, and then order juices and food from their server. I started with a mixed berry juicee blend that was very fresh. They had several items on their seasonal menu that sounded tasty- I settled on the omelette with contained butternut squash, black beans, jack cheese, and maple glazed brussel sprouts. It did not disappoint! It was very large and I ended up only eating half. My mom ordered the veggie stash and enjoyed the unique mix of flavors. The portion size for this meal was also very large- there were definitely leftovers! I can't wait to go back next time I am in town to try something new.

Yelp
I had such high hopes for this place after it coming highly recommended by my boyfriend who is from GR. he was so excited to take me here since there's not many veg restaurants in the area. We were so disappointed coming in today. There was only one server working who was also acting as host. We waited 20 mins to be seated, she didn't even acknowledge us or the 3 other parties waiting at the door. We were seated and told to serve ourselves the coffee and water. Ok no big deal to me. But the hot coffee was cold, when I asked for it to be heated it was so hot it burned my mouth and I couldn't drink it until the end of the meal. When it came time to order food, they were out of beans! Literally half the dishes on the menu contain beans and I specifically came to this place for a veg breakfast burrito. We ended up getting the Paul collins cuban without beans, which was just not good. The tempeh was just doused in soy sauce and the corn tortillas were cold and actually hard. So sad, and I hate to diss on a veg restaurant making it GR but this was really unacceptable. Hope they can fix it up.

Yelp
Hands down my absolute favorite go to vegetarian restaurant!! Im always so eager to eat that I forget to take photos. I'll try to remember next time. I wish they were open for dinner even take out only would be great.

Yelp
The long-awaited move across town, the feel of the place, the food -- it all made the move together. I could not be happier and more surprised. Things like this don't happen. If you like the bean dishes like the Jim White or Paul Collins and want some avocado with them then bring some slices from home because they no longer serve them as there was too much waste of food with avocado shrinkage. Sounds like Gaia if you know the restaurant, always being thoughtful.

Yelp
My grandkids got covered in a sticky substance later to be pointed out by the waitress that it was super glue she used on the decor behind every seat that very morning. The waitress was really nice, apologetic, and gave a discount. I found the dust bunnies and litter under the bench in front a bit odd and gross for a food service establishment. It was empty but there was a long wait. The food was good.

Yelp
Ordered a juice and the omelet of the day, got juice which was okayyy, but waited an hour before our server asked for our order a second time, and fifteen more minutes before leaving. Disappointing.

Yelp
The beloved Gaia House Cafe is back and we just cannot even handle how perfect everything is! ⁣ ⁣ Gaia is an ICONIC vegetarian & vegan restaurant/juice bar/cafe that used to be located in the East Hills neighborhood of Grand Rapids. They were on Diamond Ave for 33 years until they closed in 2014. ⁣ ⁣ It is soooo nostalgic to see them make a comeback in none other than the beautiful Creston neighborhood. It feels like the most perfect fit for Gaia. ⁣ ⁣ (You can learn more about the history and how Andrea, the owner, worked to bring back and renovate the heck out of the now cafe in their YouTube videos titled "The Gaia Cafe Revival #1" & #2! It is so amazing! ) ⁣ ⁣ Gaia was and IS still known for their Gaia cookies and Mean Green burrito. And we are here to tell you, they taste just like they did 6 years ago! Our cookies were fresh out of the oven this morning. ⁣ ⁣ The Mango Pineapple Smoothie was so fresh and delicious that Gaia may now be my go-to smoothie spot.

Yelp
I picked up dinner last night at the re-opened Gaia Cafe and I was enticed all the way home by the familiar aromas of Veggie Hash and Cuban Eggs. My daughter and I both cheered when we dove into both because they were identical to our favorite meals from the old Gaia in Eastown. Thank you, thank you, thank you for recreating our favorites that we have missed so much. And the cookies were as good as....if not better....than I remembered. I'll be back when you are open for dining in!

Yelp
Loved the old Gaia and the new one is just as wonderful. Really am happy they are back. Now, that we have moved back to GR, it is my go to meet up with old friends destination. Everyone enjoys it.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on my vegan Wednesday's. Was welcomed by a young woman with a Covid mask in a mostly empty cafe. The small size is deceiving as there is a wrap around lounge space off to the right. I was pointed to the help-yourself water and coffee. A small art shop with tea and metalwork sat on a shelf. The bright whites and colors accent well this small brunch place. I got the chips and salsa which satisfies the heat and hunger requirements. Some electronic music played ordinarily in the background. The owner came into talk to her staff about plans. She chatted with me after I paid. Originally from Grand Haven, this woman entrepreneur is carving out a tasty haven near Creston Brewing for healthy eaters looking for a local twist. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Gaia continues on under Andrea's vision and passion. We've been in four times since its reopening and each time has been incredible! Paul Collins with tempeh all day long. Mean Green is also excellent and enough for at least two meals. Great juice and coffee/tea options. There is something for every dietary preference or need on their menu. I only wish I lived closer!

Yelp
We stopped in to Gaia House Cafe on our way for wedding dress shopping. Lovely atmosphere, smoothie selection to meet anyone's needs. Lovely array of sandwich options to choose from.

Yelp
It's great to have Gaia back. We always loved their signature Date Bar, and it is just as wonderful as before. New location has improved atmosphere, but it's still cozy. Better coffee than your typical restaurant. Delicious omelette.

Chelsea N.

Yelp
We are vegetarian and decided this would be an easy place to eat! The menu is full of good veggie stuff but the food left a lot to be desired. We had the mean green burrito and the Jim white. Nothing had any seasoning or salt. It was really just scoops of unseasoned food, piled on a plate. Not a single bit of flavor in the rice, beans, avocado, anything. And the spring mix salad in the burrito was a really strange concept that didn't work. Just really disappointing. The staff was nice and the restaurant was cute, but I wouldn't go back for the food.

Jessica L.

Yelp
The Gaia cookies are not the same as the old restaurants famous cookies. I don't know if they changed the recipe or what, but they were dry af and tasted bad. Also overpriced. Very disappointing.
google avatar

Christina K.

Yelp
a good vegan option but was surprised that they did not have vegan cheese or sour cream.
