The Best Ice Cream, Gelato, and Soft Serve in New Orleans | Eater New Orleans

"This colorful ice cream stand is attached to Lakeview favorite Junior’s on Harrison, and owned by the same folks. Gail’s is known for nostalgic flavors like strawberries and sweet cream, lemon ice box pie, double chocolate, and mint chip, as well as seasonal specials like satsuma sorbet. This is the place to indulge your inner child with a classic sundae. Open until 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and until 9 p.m. the rest of the week (except Sunday, when it closes at 8 p.m.). A location in Baton Rouge opened in 2022." - Beth D’Addono

The 25 Food and Drink Trends Taking Over Restaurants in 2018 | Bon Appétit

"It’s not that we’reoverice cream (we’re not monsters). It’s just that there’s another frozen dessert in town—all over town, really. Shaved ice (orshaveice, depending on who you talk to) is showing up across the country, from powdery Japanese-style kakigōri atBonsai Kakigōriin New York City to fluffy Korean bingsoo atDessert Cafe Momoin Montreal. There are renditions that stay close to tradition and others that riff (take, for example, the local Tcho chocolate you can sprinkle on top of your Taiwanese bao bing–inspired shaved snow atPowderin San Francisco). There’s the stacked-high Filipino halo-halo with fresh fruit, evaporated milk, ice cream, and other toppings like sweetened beans. There are New Orleans sno-balls—like a snow cone but fluffier—far outside NOLA. No matter the kind, we know one thing for sure: We’re not exactly missing the mint chocolate chip.—Emma Wartzman, editorial assistant" - ByThe Bon Appétit Staff

Where’s the vanilla bean? Like so many poorly run rest businesses they start out great and they start cheating customers. They advertise vanilla bean ice cream however there is no bean in this ice cream. It went from the very best ice cream to tasteless yuk. Could not even finish it. Very disappointing to say the least. I will never eat here again. Shame in you Gail! You remove remove the quality ingredients and still charge the same high price. You can better tasting vanilla from the grocery store. Sad. I will be emailing about a refund due to false advertising.

Nice little place with a walk up counter and sidewalk seating. Interesting flavors, good price and good customer service. The maple French toast was delicious. My kids like the Little Monsters.

Cute ice cream place outside of Junior’s! I got the Sastuma Sherbet and it was refreshing! There are little seating areas on the side to sit and eat as well.

The BEST ice cream I have had in a long time. Pumpkin Carmel Cheesecake was the bomb. Try any flavor….Super sweet employee to help us who was friendly and kind, Ethan. Will come back. 5 star, a must try.

My new favorite ice cream in the city! Creative flavors and friendly staff. We’ve now tried 4 flavors and all have been super yummy! Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.

Google
Super cute atmosphere and some of the best tasting ice cream! Owner/manager was very polite and going around checking with everything to see how they were doing, made the whole shop even more welcoming. Will definitely be back!

We loved this hole in the wall icecream spot! We each got a different flavor so we could try a bit of everything but the lemon was the best one! Please enjoy this picture of my kid being a weirdo!

Portions were generous but the taste was lacking. Not sure if the ice cream was old but there were chunks of ice in the scoops and the flavor wasn’t there. Will try one more time to see if this was a fluke!

Yelp
My favorite business to support are neighborhood shops. They are the pillars of our communities. They understand the economic obstacles locals face and step up to deliver quality farm to table products at affordable prices. Places like this earn our trust and will be a place your kids will bring their kinds one day. A place that you can use as a landmark to give directions to locals and tourists alike. These businesses connect our families to one another because they are family. Gail's Fine Ice Cream is a bright, new ice cream shop that is sure to become a staple of the Lakeview area. The customer service is fantastic. They give great recommendations. Gail's top priority though is their ingredients. The freshness of the product is key. I had a Satsuma sorbet and a Blackberry with crumbled cornbread scoop. They use local harvest in their product. That is a nice touch. Gail's has a nice variety of flavors. They have nostalgic flavors from our childhood too like Little Monsters and milk and cookies. The offer signature drinks too. The Lavender Chai Iced Coffee was delicious. The design of the stand is comfy and inviting. The days down here are hot, so if you are looking for a local treat that can cool you down. Get to Lakeview near City Park and have yourself a Gail's.

Yelp
Did you even know that there was a tiny ice cream shop window here? I didn't until this event! It's a cute little old-timey feeling shop right next to Lakeview Grocery. A lot of people know about Creole Creamery nearby, but it's usually so crowded, so this place would be a great alternative with a few seats and tables outside! I got a double scoop of the Lemon Berry Ice Box Pie flavor ice cream on a cone complimentary as a Yelp Elite Event perk, and we purchased a double scoop Cortado Crunch flavored ice cream also on a cone. Both flavors were delicious! I'm not sure who makes their ice cream, but they were both flavorful and rich in cream content. (Not watered down with little cream like the Blue Bunny brand!) Perfect for a hot summer evening!!

Yelp
After eating at Junior's last Friday, my friends and I made it a point to stop to try Gail's and it was delicious! I ordered a scoop of the Cortado Crunch and it so good! Though it was just a scoop, the woman who served me gave me a pretty good serving. The prices were decent for the quantity and quality you got and I just think the whole idea of it is just so cute and quaint. I'll be back at this location and at the one in Baton Rouge very soon!

Yelp
Went to get ice cream in the early since I'm having a long day. The I had then I have the honor as Simon calls an a hole for asking for something to extra. Thanks just what I needed on an already tough day.

Yelp
Scoop there it is ~~ Hidden behind Juniors on Harrison is the cutest lil ice cream shop! Served straight from their window with chairs on the lawn for you to enjoy I got to taste their lemon berry ice box pie... a sweet cream stuffed with lemon curd, blueberry mint puree, and a toasted almond, brown sugar strudel. It was devine. I understand why it is one of their most popular flavors. The second scoop was their fresh strawberry, a classic!

Yelp
Really tasty ice cream. Very creamy. Good flavor options. Haven't had any ice cream I didn't like.
